So I could pass on the farm.

I guess I just never specified
I'd have someone to pass it on to.

Using the devil to improve

water downstream from the chemical plant.

She got the test results about a
week after you made your decision.

And the test results
were clean, just like mine.

Because the devil cleaned the
water. But why would he do that?

What has this chemical
plant got to do with my farm?

At some point before you made your deal,

Spectre must have started dumping toxic
waste in the water, making people sick.

Sooner or later, somebody
would have made the connection.

And when they did, all the land
downstream would have been evacuated, seized.

My farm.

The devil had to make sure
no one took it from you.

But I've been using
that water for irrigation.

Does that mean all the crops I've been
selling these past ten years were poisoned?

If your father's dog has
drunk from that ditch before,

it means the devil only
let the water go toxic

I can see she went to an expert
to get some morbidity predictions.

Diseases that were caused by chemicals in
the plant if they got in the groundwater.
