- [Instructor] Why do we need autonomous agent AI

and that too an AI that can reason

and make decisions on our behalf?

Can you think of reasons why we would need an agent AI

that talks to LLMs to be automated

and make decisions on our behalf?

Write your ideas in a notepad.

Let us think of an intelligent chatbot, like a travel bot.

Your customer chats with the chatbot by asking questions,

and the chatbot gives answers about, say, a ticket

or hotel option for a vacation.

Now, what is the benefit of automating this using agent AI?

Imagine if a user can give their requirement,

and the AI can go research and find the best option

and recommend the right date for a vacation.

Agent AI can take a user's complex task

and break it down to simple steps

and plan and execute the search

and find the solution that meets the user's need.

That's the specialty of agent AI.

And an agent AI can communicate.

It can communicate with other agent AI to collaborate,

and each agent AI can do a piece of the task.

In this example,

one agent can search for airplane deals.

Another can search for hotel deals.

Can you think of what could go wrong with this automation?

Well, there could be a great price deal for air

and hotel on a specific week in a beach town

because it is a terrible weather week,

such as hurricane season.

The agent searching for deals might not know

how to check for bad weather,

but it can use a tool like a weather app

to find out if the weather is good

during the dates when it finds a deal.

Isn't that amazing?

All these agent AIs can communicate with each other

and make a decision to meet the user's goal

to get the best deal on a date when there is good weather.

This is a simple example of what agent AI can do.

We will see more examples throughout the course

and even design

and build a couple autonomous agent AI systems.
