An armored truck carrying a shipment of
precious jewels approaches Monument
Circle on its way to the Metropolis
Jewelry Exchange under the scrutiny of a
mysterious man. But this is no
ordinary mortal. This is a sorcerer, a
warlock, a wicked wizard in league with
the forces for evil.
Bye, Lucifer. This should shake
them up. The warlock aims his ruby-tipped
cane at the statue. Magically, the
giant statue comes to life, a slave to
the will of the warlock.
The impact sets off the truck's automatic
alarm. What happened?Look!
In the office of the Daily Planet,
Superman, disguised as meek,
mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent,
detects with his super hearing. Uh oh,
that's an armored car alarm signal.
This is a job for Superman.
Great Scott, who is that?
It's turned to marble again. How can that
be?You'll
never figure that one out.
Bye-bye, Superman! The
motorcycle. It's going off by itself. This
must be some kind of black magic. Better
get that strongbox.
Something fishy about this.
So I'll let the fish figure it out.
Superman will pay for this. He's
no match for my magic.
This tired sorcerer's ruby's got
to hold out just a little
longer. I don't
think anything's missing, Superman. Wait,
Let me see that ruby. A
sorcerer's ruby. A rare gem
which in the hands of a warlock possesses
great magic powers. Now I know
who's behind these shenanigans. Up, up,
and away!
He must be somewhere around here.
There he is. Super boob
I'll show him a trick or two as soon as I
get that fresh ruby. I've drained
almost all the magic out of this one.
Still, there's enough power
left for one more clever
stunt. Ah The toothpaste!
Uh oh. Up to his tricks again.
Those poor guards are having a sticky
time of it.
Just as I suspected. A warlock. A
male witch. Down!
Banished again. Hang it, I can't catch an
invisible man. How could he
escape from the Man of Steel?Gosh, Mr.
White, is it possible a thief has greater
powers than Superman? If he has, Jimmy.
Metropolis is in for some real trouble.
Meanwhile, at the waterfront, the warlock
revitalizes his cane with the fresh
magic power of a new sorcerer's Ruby. He
plots diabolical disasters which will
demonstrate to the people of Metropolis
his superiority over their Superman. Uh,
the ocean liner. I think it's ready
for a cruise on land.
Bone voyage.
Gosh, Mr. White, an ocean liner on Main
Street. I can't believe it. Great
Caesar's ghost. That school bus is
stalled, and the ship's flying around it.
Here comes Superman. Too late.
Down's foiled again by that
meddling Superman.
Superman. How?How could this happen?
See that man up there? He's a warlock, a
male. His black magic made it happen.
Oh, jeepers! Can't you catch him?Every
time I try, he makes himself invisible.
But I have a plan that might work, if I
can get him to raise his cane above his
head. Give up, Superman!
My magic is a thousand times more
powerful than you are! I can make that
globe spin like a top. Can you?
I hope he takes the bait. Ah
Tires play. What?
He bit Superman. Up, up
and away. Oh, no, you don't.
You won't get me.
Got it.
That's the last time he'll raise Kane
around here. Gee, how will a warlock get
along without his magic ruby? From now on,
he'll just have to squeeze toothpaste
with his fingers, like everybody else.
