Hello, and welcome to The Front Porch.
Where you'll learn how to make your porch beautiful,
whether you're decorating for...
What?
A Chicken.
Move, go, go, go, go.
Hello, and welcome to the Front Porch.
I'm Victoria Stevens,
and I am so grateful for all of you out there
who love decorating for the holidays just as much as,
You've got to be kidding me.
What? Hey, excuse me.
Hi.
Hey. It's a beautiful day, huh?
Yeah. I'm trying to do a post over here
and between your rooster
and the machine thing that you have going, it's
Oh, the circular saw?
Sure. Yeah. I, I can't get anything done.
Oh. I'm sorry. I'm, I'm on a deadline.
Do you mind posting inside?
No, no. I, I, I can't, um, my,
my handle's called the front porch.
You know what? I'll just do it. I'll do it later. It's okay.
Look. No, no. I'll take a coffee break
and you can do My Harmony thing.
- What, what - Your My Face, My Harmony.
I, I, I don't know.
My Harmony is a, is a dating app
from a really long time ago.
Oh. I mean, it's all the same to me.
And I love using seasonal plants native
to Texas in my wreath. Here in our small town of New Hope,
we have lots of access to plants growing everywhere.
Even on the side of the road. I made this wreath
for 4 dollars and 20 cents.
But it looks like something you would pay $125 for at Home
to Heart's fancy store.
No matter where you live,
you can create something beautiful and inexpensive.
That really reminds you,
Mom, Mom, look what I made.
Hey, honey.
Remember what mom said about interrupting her while she's working?
I'm so sorry, Mom.
It's Okay. I know you just...
Can you just um, give me five more minutes?
Oh, I made this for our new neighbor.
Can you guess what it is?
Um, Yeah, it's um,
Rooster for our new neighbor
From Mr. Gavin huh?
- Yep. - Hmm. I had other plans for that rooster.
Like what exactly, mom?
Nothing. Nothing. Hey, honey.
- Yeah. - Why don't you go give it to him now.
I'll, I'll stay here and
watch to make sure that you're safe.
I'm 10. I'm being indecisive. Just like you.
I think you mean independent.
- That's why I said, mom. - Okay. You go on.
What do you want?
- Hello? To you too. - Why are you calling
- How's Charlie? - A year older than the
last time we heard from you.
You know, maybe this is why I don't call Vicki.
- Hello, Buddy. - That's better. Is Charlie there?
You know, it's taken her years to get over the fact
that you're not coming back.
Imagine we got some seed in our hand and is eating.
Vicki, I'm barely scraping by as it is.
I wish I had some money.
I could send you both, but,
but my, my EP is, is doing great in Germany, so maybe soon.
That's what you said about France two years ago.
I really need my guitar back.
My guitar got stolen last night after the gig,
and I'm devastated about
Buddy,
I, I, I had to settle all of your stuff years ago to get by.
It would be really nice if sometimes you just called
to say hi or check on us instead
of only when you need something.
I remember when you believed in me. In my dreams.
That's why I left Vicki.
The only thing that loved me back was my music
Buddy.
That is not fair. And you know it. Look, I, I gotta go.
Are you happy, Charlie?
- Yes. Why? - You know I love you very much, right?
Mommy? Yes. You were scaring me.
Who was that on the phone?
That was dad, wasn't it?
Yeah.
I hate this place.
Don't say that this was Nana's house.
It's just like she's with us.
What now?
Good morning. Oh,
Good morning, Pastor Tiffany.
Look, I just wanna let you know, I'm so excited
that Charlie's gonna be in the Christmas pageant this year.
Oh, we have rehearsal right after service. Oh, thank you.
Charlie. Is this for me?
It's the church.
Oh, I love it.
I'll add this to my collection. We'll be back by lunchtime.
Thank you so much.
I heard you got a new neighbor.
Yeah. Yeah. A very loud. New neighbor.
Is he playing music?
I heard through the New Hope grapevine,
that it's Gavin Gardner.
Should I know who that...?
Girl, Popular Texas artist originally from Australia.
You need to give him a listen.
A musician, huh? Figures. Okay.
You guys have fun today, okay? Thank you so much again.
Can I hang out with y'all?
I'm not a little kid anymore.
No, you go on and hang out with them.
This is our momma time, right?
Happy hour. Cheers.
So, Charlie was telling us about your new neighbor.
It was Mr. Gavin this, Mr.
Gavin, that, she's a little smitten. What about you?
Oh, no. And please.
I, he's the last person I wanna waste this beautiful night
talking about. I mean, he's so loud all of the time.
And he has chickens.
Why does he have chickens?
And he's constantly doing work on his house.
It just seems like it never ends. And the noise.
It's just all the time.
And, you know, I'm, I'm also pretty sure
that his rooster is either evil or possessed, or both.
I thought you didn't wanna talk about him.
I don't. Let's just change subject.
Well, I did see him working on the yard. Sonia...
Oof, he looks good without his shirt on.
Oh.
Oh, hey, baby. I couldn't help overhearing.
He, he looks good without his shirt on.
Hey hon.
I'll take my shirt off right now. You understand? I'm not worried.
Oh, no, I think we're good.
Yeah.
Right, ladies?
Yeah, you can do whatever you want. It's your house.
That's right Victoria.
Actually baby, I have a question for you.
What keeps the party going longer?
A six-pack or that keg baby?
Oh my gosh.
Hmmm, Jill knows.
Sorry about that.
You know, I forgot the worst part on top of all of it. Is that he is a musician.
You're never would you ever again.
Exactly. And you know,
Charlie just stopped asking about her dad finally.
You know, I think kids bounce back quicker than we do, though.
You know, they don't have mortgages or bills to pay.
They can just be.
Oh, how is The Front Porch Gram thing going?
Are you guys doing okay?
Yeah. Yeah. It's going great. We're, we're fine. Yeah.
Because you know, if you ever want a part-time job,
I'm always looking for another makeup artist
to come join us on our team.
I appreciate it. But we are fine.
And if I ever need help with anything,
I will just ask for it.
Okay? I promise.
Mom, look at the Christmas Tree I made.
Okay. I'll be right back.
So how long have we been doing this,
this support group with our kids?
- Two years. - And how many times has she hosted?
Zero.
Every time I go to pick up Charlie for a play date
or anything, she just meets me on the front porch
and she never invites me inside.
I hope she's okay.
So what are we talking about now?
- Gavin, - Please? No. Can we move on?
Do we have to?
He's kind of cute.
Please, please.
Jackie Zinn.
Shannon, I have a question for you.
Who is a Frosty the Snowman's favorite aunt?
Who?
Aunt Artica.
Ahhhhh!
We're back!
Season Three!
It's gonna be more excitement,
More stories, more human stories.
Yeah.
And we're expanding even to outdoors.
Home is where my heart is at. She's my heart.
We just wanted to share that with the world.
Absolutely. Especially those who, you know,
can't make these dreams come true.
Well, this is our newest line of ornaments. Home to Heart,
which every year we select a specific
ornament that's special.
And every ornament has a story behind it.
Hey Victoria.
Hi.
Oh, um, I just wanted to apologize
for all the noise.
Peace offering.
I'm more of a tea drinker, but thank you.
Well, I'm almost done with my construction project,
so the noise should get better.
Hmm.
Is your rooster gonna be off the job too?
Hi, Mr. Gavin. I'm making something new for you.
Oh. You know, I love the rooster that you gave me.
You know what? It's actually in my kitchen.
- It is. - Yeah, definitely. Yeah.
You could come check it out sometime.
Well, not without me. Okay.
I, I'd love to have you both over get
to know the neighbors kind of thing.
I could show you my Home to Heart's, "Fix it up" Competition.
She does not like Home to Heart.
Ummmm...
Ah, that's because they, they charge way too much
for something I could make for way Less.
I thought they just did TV shows.
Oh yeah. It's a local competition.
You fix up one area in your house
and the angle is eco-friendly and the winner gets $25,000
and chance be featured on an episode.
Maybe you should do the competition?
- No, no. - Yeah. I, I could help.
I I don't, I don't want random people in
my personal life.
I thought that's what you do on social media.
Tell people about your, your life.
That's, because I'm an Influencer. It's different.
It's curated. I can decide what I put up and what I do...
You know, actually, I, I have to get back
to work right now anyway, so thank you
so much for stopping by.
- I appreciate this gesture. - Bye. Bye.
I told you I can do it by myself, Mom.
I know you can,
but you know, sometimes it doesn't hurt
to ask for a little help.
Well, you never ask for help, mommy.
So do you know what you want for Christmas yet? I
I can't tell my Christmas wish,
it won't come true, you know?
Okay. Well maybe you can tell Santa
I am telling Jesus every Sunday.
I'm giving him a try first.
Okay, well, Jesus better hurry up then
because Christmas is only a few weeks away.
That's not funny mom. My Christmas wish is cereal.
I think you mean "serious".
That's what I said.
God, please have my mom
see I'm big girl now
and not worry about the broken boards in our house.
It's given us constitution.
"Character".
That's what I said. And thank you from my Christmas wish.
Amen.
- Amen. - Okay, let's get you to sleep. Okay.
Take those from you.
Ugh.
Cock-a-doodle-do!
Cock-a-doodle-do!
Cock-a-doodle-do!
Go away!
Shoo!
Rooster...
Go, go, go....go away!
Why are you here?
Hello?
Gavin?
Do you know what time it is?
Yeah, it's like 10:29 to be exact.
- Mom, you're up. - Charlie, what are you doing here?
I didn't want to wake you. I just want to say "Hi" to Mr. Gavin.
You know, you're not allowed to leave without
telling me.
Oh, But Mr.
Gavin gave us these eggs.
Yeah. She's been such a good helper. I'm sorry.
I thought you knew she was here.
I wouldn't have let her hang around if
You can't be using these power tools
with a child running around.
I'm not a child mom.
I was just cutting the last board
and I've been keeping an eye on her.
I promise. Did you come through my bushes?
- No. No. - Mom look it's all
Self.
Yeah. The whole garden is self-sustaining
and eco-friendly, right?
Yes. The chicken poop feeds the garden.
And oh, what feeds the fish?
Well, the algae feeds the fish. You're doing a great job.
Yes. And what else do you remember?
The plants feed each other.
Cool. Why don't you run home
and I'll make us some breakfast. Okay?
- With these eggs mom? - Sure. We can use those eggs.
Best morning ever.
Look, there are a few things...
I'm really sorry.
I thought you knew she was here,
and um, you know, I don't have any kids,
so I dunno what the rules are.
Okay. Thank you.
You know, she just thinks she can do a
lot more than she can.
And I just, I wanna keep her safe.
And thank you for the eggs. That's very nice of you.
Welcome. And she's welcome anytime, anytime that you give her permission.
- Okay. - And use the archway on the way out.
Keep going.
- Yup. - Through the archway.
Got it.
Say hello, thank you, thank you, hello everyone!
Hey y'all!
Hey. Hit me. Gimme some, gimme some, gimme some love. Hey.
Oh, sure, sure. Here we go. Say "Home to Heart"!
"Home to Heart"! Thank you. Thank you.
Joy to the world,
the Lord has come.
Let Earth receive her King.
Let every heart prepare Him room
Oh, stop me at Lewis
and I ever start wearing matching sweaters.
- Aw, I think it's cute. - Hey you!
Hi.
Hi. How are you?
It's been so long.
Hey. How are you?
Whoa whoa.
This should be interesting.
Charlie?
Mr. Gavin's working, let's not...
Victoria.
It's so good to see you.
Hey.
I didn't know you know each other.
Well. Since our cheerleading days.
You are dropped my mom and broke her ankle.
Oh, I'm sure. That was a long time ago, Charlie.
Actually, I told Victoria
that she should do your competition.
Oh,
That would be so fun.
But, I'm sure you're too busy with
that Gram thing of yours. How's that going?
- Great. Great. - She works on it all the time. I'm very proud.
Well, the competition would be incredible
exposure for The Front Porch.
The winners are chosen from about 2.4 million Home
to Heart followers.
We had an influencer on our last show
that now has over a hundred thousand followers. - Well,
Not everyone has those
- Results. - But sweetie, it could happen.
Honey.
Charlie just said that she's busy.
- I'll do it. - Really, mom?
Yeah. Yeah.
Alright, well gimme some! Talk to it. Talk to it.
All right! Yeah!
Okay. So now we have to let that sit for a few minutes
and hopefully it should peel right off.
Fingers crossed.
Shoot.
Hate that board.
Okay. Okay.
Okay. Here we go. Big moment.
All right. Well, some of it's peeling off, but it's,
I fixed my room so I can help you now. Sorry Mommy.
It's, it's okay. It's okay.
I'm gonna... I'm not mad at you.
That stupid stuff didn't work anyway.
- You said stupid. - I did. My bad.
It's okay.
- Need some help? - No, no. I'm, I'm good. Really?
This, this is, this is magic. Trust me.
I wore mine out stripping from the paper at my house. Oh and
Ah start with this one.
Okay, cool. Great. Thanks.
You sure you don't want me to like,
come in, show you how it's done.
We can turn on some music and make it a party.
Yeah.
I appreciate the offer, but thank you. Really?
I, I, I got it.
Yeah. Now I got it.
- Still working on the house. - I am. Sorry, pumpkin.
But I promise I'll be at church on Christmas Eve
to see your pageant.
Pastor Tiffany!
Hey. Oh wow.
You got a big project going girl.
Yeah. Yeah.
I kind of wish you weren't seeing it like this.
I fixed up plenty of houses in my day. You ready, Charlie?
Yes.
I almost forgot the deposit is due today
for the costumes.
Right.Yeah. Yeah. I meant to tell you.
I decided to make Charlie's costume.
Oh?!
Really Mom? can I see it?
When it's done. Yeah.
Don't make Pastor Tiffany late, okay?
Also, I was hoping that Charlie would provide us
with some ornaments for our
Christmas tree down at the church?
Sure. Yeah.
So these ornaments,
they'll go on the tree Christmas Eve right before service.
I really love that idea. Yeah.
Well, I look forward to Charlie's costume.
Me too.
Okay, let's go.
Voila!
I learned this amazing super easy trick on how
to get your wallpaper off in just one try.
Perfect.
Uh, oh...
You okay?
Yeah. Yeah. It's just
kind of twisted my weak ankle.
It's just this old injury.
- Yeah. Cheerleading I heard. - Yeah.
Thank you.
How's wallpapering coming along?
It's good. It worked. Thank you for the tip.
- Welcome. Anytime. - So it's a bigger
project than I expected it to be.
First time doing a reno can be overwhelming
and having a little help, helps.
Yeah. My, my,
my dad was always really good at fixing things.
and I used to love helping him
around the house. In a weird way
you, ah, kind of remind me of him a little bit.
- Is he still alive? - Oh, no, no, no.
It's just, it's just me and Charlie
and an ex who shall not be named.
- Oh, I know Buddy. - What?
We're in the same business.
Buddy would tell us that he was gonna be a star in Europe,
but we all knew we had a family in New Hope.
I heard you yelling on the phone to "Buddy" the other day
and put two and two together.
No, really. I, I got it.
- I can. - I'm happy to help.
No. Please.
Stop. Please. I...
Just rest your ankle.
It's fine. It's fine.
You aren't breaking any rules.
Neighbors are allowed to help you.
Let's go. Good job. That's it.
Thank you!
You just like you like.
Hey.
Hey!
Whooo! Dippity, dip dip.
Whoooooo!
Yeah!!!
- Good job. - Yeah.
I'm gonna win.
- Hello. - Look out your window.
Are you spying on me?
No, no, no. I saw you there.
Not like watching you or anything.
Hmmmm.
Did you fix my floorboards?
Maybe.
Thank you.
You are welcome. So what are you gonna do
with your time now that you've finished the project?
I, I don't really know.
What are you gonna do with all your time?
Well, I was hoping that maybe you
and Charlie would come over for dinner?
- Oh - Yeah.
Neighborly. You know? Of course,
Of course.
Yeah. Yeah. We, we would, we would, we would love to.
Tomorrow.
- Okay. - Alright.
Well, would you mind closing the
blinds and stop peeking on me?
I wasn't, I wasn't watching.
Night.
Goodnight.
I am gonna love you forever.
Don't cry. Don't be afraid.
Not even death could separate us.
Our love was heaven-made.
Wow. I like this in my room.
Haha. Well, I think we could probably work on that.
This is spectacular. Wow.
Glad you like it. You're my first official guests.
Smells pretty amazing too.
Oh, I've lived here long enough
to know how to make a brisket.
You know, this accent might be funny
Australian accent, but I'm Texan through and through.
Come on, sit down. You are the head of the table, my friend.
Okay. So special. Wow.
Have you come up with your Christmas list yet
Charlie 'cause I remember when I was your age,
I would circle everything in the Toys For Me catalog.
What's Toys For Me?
You know, they actually closed years ago.
Isn't that so sad?
- What? No! - I know. - They had the best jingle.
I don't wanna grow old.
I wanna stay young forever young
Forever young and free. Need more toys for me!
I do wanna grow up, but my wish isn't for a toy.
Oh. Oh, well, okay.
Well, can you tell me what your Christmas wish is?
I can't tell you my Christmas wish. It won't come true.
Hey, Charlie, do you wanna give Gavin the
gift that you made him now?
- Yeah. - Wow.
Did you make this out of the leftover scraps of my wood?
Yes. And mom helped me cut out the letters.
It is beautiful. Thank you.
Okay, well we should get going.
It's almost someone's bedtime.
Mom, I don't want this night to end.
Me too. And you know what?
I actually have something that I've been saving for you.
I changed the strings of my guitar last night
and I thought you could put them in your craft supply.
- Wow. Thank you. - Oh,
Aren't you a hit?
Okay, pumpkin. Let's go. I'll take that for you.
Thank you to Mr. Gavin for having us over.
You are welcome.
Thank you again.
Yeah, it was really nice.
You took off the lid?
It didn't go likes this.
I'm so happy Pastor Tiffany included our kids.
Yeah. Our babies with superpowers are gonna have the
best ornaments on the tree.
You know, Charlie has made
so many crafts for Gavin at this point,
it's getting a little bit embarrassing.
So?
So?
When are you gonna tell us?
There's not really a whole lot to tell.
I, I mean, he's, he's great.
He's talented and he cooks really well.
You know, I actually actually like his music.
You like his music?
He cooks?
What?
I wouldn't have done the competition without him.
He's been really helpful. So that's a great thing. Oh.
Oh, right Home to Heart announces the winners next week
Right?
Jill?
- Focus. - Sorry.
We want to hear about the romance.
Don't you think it's time you, you did something
for your love life? -And the drought!
Well, I, I appreciate your concern on that front,
but I'm good.
We live next door. I, I
I don't want things to get messy.
- Oh, okay.Okay. I got this. - Goodness.
- I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. - It's okay, hun.
Yeah. Go get the broom.
Okay guys, come and help everybody come and help.
This works. See? Yeah.
See, messy can be beautiful sometimes. Okay.
- Oh, hi. - Hey,
I, I just wanted to return these tools.
I didn't think you'd be back here.
- Thanks. And did you wanna stay for a drink? - Ummmm.
Charlie can come over if you want.
Oh, I just, I just put her to bed.
Oh, well it's actually perfect.
If you've got a second, take a seat
and I'll, I wanna show you something.
I, that one.
Thanks for sticking around. Cheers!
Thank you.
- To us. - To us?
Yeah. That one of us wins the competition.
Oh yeah. I do hope one of us wins. Cheers!
So I just wanted to get your thoughts on
this song that I wrote for Charlie.
- You wrote a song for Charlie? - Yeah.
This world needs more of who you are.
You shine when the day is gray.
More of who you are. You laugh all the clouds away.
You light the night of this
dark soul
with everything you
do.
Can't get enough. Need more of you.
What do you think?
I think she's gonna love it.
Thanks. I was
thinking I could give it to her for her Christmas present.
Just if she'd tell us
what she wanted on her Christmas wish I'd,
I'd, I'd get it for her.
- But maybe she'll like that. - Yeah.
I I think it's perfect. Beautiful. Actually.
Well, thank you for this.
Welcome. Oh, oh, you okay?
Next time?
Maybe you can also show me, which,
which room in your house you fixed up for the competition.
You're standing in it.
That's not good enough.
How do I build a self-sustaining fireplace?
This is Victoria.
Hello. Hey darling, this is Jackie Zinn calling.
How are you? I'm sorry I'm calling so late.
It's just that I work all the time.
Oh, that's no problem Ms Zinn.
No, no, no, no. Call me Jackie sweetheart.
So listen, I have been following you for the last month
and I am very impressed with The Front Porch
and your posts for the Home
to Heart competition. Simply divine.
Wow. Thank you so much.
So, I am going to be in Dallas next week,
and I was thinking we could get together just
for a little bite and we can discuss how I'm going
to make you Queen of the Influencers.
Huh? What do you say about that?
That would be great. Yes. I look forward to it.
All right. Call you soon.
So you don't cut down the tree?
- No, we decorate it - And then you leave it here.
Yeah. It's a, it's a New Hope tradition.
You decorate a tree in honor of a loved one.
And you can do that anywhere.
Pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. But we like this spot, right?
- Yes. - Why don't you hand me some of the tinsel.
So we'll get started. So this year we're decorating this
tree in honor of Nana and she loved her silver.
- I can see that. - I'll take that.
Well, thanks for including me.
It was mom's idea.
Mr. Gavin, can you help me get up there?
Sure.
Wow. It's so beautiful.
- It looks so good. - You did such a good job. Yeah. Yes.
- Hey, can you take a picture of us? - Oh, sure. Yeah.
It's part of the tradition.
I like to post a picture as a Christmas card on the Gram.
- Of course. - Okay. Ready?
- That's it. - Mom, can
we take a photo with Mr.
Gavin, please?
Sure. Yeah, of course. Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, sure. Okay. Ready? Let's do a selfie then. Ready?
1, 2, 3.
- Ah, cheese. - Cheese. Okay. A funny one. Maybe. Oh.
Oh, these are so cute.
Mom when am I
getting my own Gram?
You're not old enough yet, so maybe a little while.
But Mom, I want host pics just like you.
Well, you can "post pics" when you're older.
What is this behind your ear?
Oh, Christmas tree. Oh, Christmas tree.
How lovely are thy
- Branches - In summer high
Come on, and winter snow. A coat of green.
You always show. Oh Christmas tree.
How lovely are thy branches?
This was so fun.
It is so great to see where you make all your magic.
Yeah. I do appreciate you coming.
So do you really think I can make six figures that quickly?
Oh, absolutely. I have the perfect
sponsors for your brand.
You do a couple posts for them each month.
You're gonna be sitting pretty.
Wow. This is, it's very exciting.
Mom, can I come out now?
Yeah honey.
We're done with all the boring business talk now.
You gonna make my mom lots
of money so we can keep Nana's house?
- What was that sweetheart? - Hi.
Hi. Oh, - Am I? Am I, am I, am I late? But
Oh, depending if that's
what you're wearing into the bond dance or not.
Yep. I am ready when you are. Jackie. That this is Gavin.
- Yes. Gavin Gardner. So nice to meet you. - Jackie
flew in from New York to talk to me about The Front Porch.
Yes. Well, because I know a star when I see one.
You know, I would love to get my mitts on your social media.
Ooh, that's not my style, but thank you.
Well, you know, the Vicki's video post
with you and Charlie,
that's what gave me the shove that I needed
to come down here and check out
what was going on in Little New New Hope.
New New Hope. New hope.
I, I didn't know that. Oh,
Yeah.
All the three of you dance around Gavin's music.
It was wonderful.
I I thought you were supposed
to get people's permission to post.
No, no. That's not how it works.
I didn't know it would get so much attention.
- It's no worries. - Mr.
Gavin, can you help me put my boots on?
Of course.
Come on.
She knows how to do that on her own.
- She's such a lovely girl. - My little angel. Yeah.
So, you know, my biggest client is only 12 years old.
Have you ever considered possibly letting
Charlie have her own account?
- No. - Well, you know, I would be willing
to take her on along with you. Just try it out.
I just, I don't think she's ready for that.
Well, there are several sponsors looking
for the right child influencer, living with disabilities.
It could mean more income.
- I'll think about it. - Yeah.
Up on housetop, reindoor paw.
Out jumps good ol' Santa Claus.
Down through the chimney with lots of toys.
A part of the little ones Christmas joy.
Ho Ho Ho! Who wouldn't go. Ho Ho Ho! Who wouldn't go.
Up on the housetop, click click click!
Down through the chimney with good St. Nick.
Play it Santa!
Everyone get back,
- Baby. - I mean, I
literally can't take him anywhere.
Baby.
You guys.
Excuse me ladies.
I just need to check if my girl can dance the two step..
Have fun.
Do you really think that Texas girl can't
dance the two step?
I wasn't sure.
I thought you were gonna talk to friends all night.
So you were a little bit jealous then?
No?
Pretty good.
I read a book.
Excuse me, kind, sir.
- Do you mind if I cut in? - I was here first. -I'm so sorry.
but it's kind of our song. - I'll dance with you later?
Thank you.
He can dance.
So tomorrow night?
- Maybe. -Maybe. - Maybe.
If, if I'm gonna take Charlie for a sleepover,
you better make good use of your time.
I would.
This isn't a one time thing for me.
No?
No.
My old life wasn't conducive
to settling down. My music was everything.
You don't have to talk about that.
I I want you to know,
I spent most of my life on the road and then I got married
and I wasn't a good husband. And family,
even the notion of family, was something I ran away from.
And then I met Charlie
and you, I had the chance
for family once and I lost it.
And I don't wanna screw this up.
You don't have to talk about the past.
Want to come inside?
You agreed to that. I thought you
said that she was too young.
I, I changed my mind.
Look, I know that's probably not my place,
but Charlie is too good hearted for that.
- So, so what does that make me then cold hearted? - No,
No, no.
That's not what I'm saying. Are you sure?
- Yes. - I, I think this is a
Mistake.
No, no. I just want what's best for Charlie.
- And you think I don't? - Of course you do. No.
You, you don't understand
how many pressures I have and how difficult it is.
Well then tell me, let me in.
I don't have to do that
Gavin.
We were fine before we met you.
- Yeah. - Think of it? - Probably not.
Not surprising. Seriously worried.
I'm gonna lose all my a exotics. Oh. Oh.
I don't want it to be like the last freeze.
Remember we didn't have water
and electricity for about a week.
I remember that. Ugh. Vicki, you okay?
Oh, I think somebody didn't get much sleep last night.
Do tell.
- We are dying to hear all about it. - Uh oh, what happened?
Gavin seemed like such a great guy.
Yeah, he comes across that way.
Oh, and he's wonderful with Charlie.
That's kind of the problem.
He seems to care more about her than he does about me.
- Oh, I doubt that. - It doesn't matter.
You know, Charlie and I have been fine on our own.
We don't need a man.
We know. We just, we thought you might want one.
Why would I want one? All men are exactly the same.
Oh. Oh, Victoria, I heard that. All right.
Lemme tell you. Not all men are exactly the same.
I'm an original Jill. Drop the beat. Nevermind. I
am one of a kind.
Baby, baby, baby.
- One of a kind. Feel that. What? - Mixed company babe.
- Mixed company. Jill knows. - Bye.
Okay. I will admit that one is pretty special.
Yes. He ah, he sets the bar real high.
But the fact is, men need us.
They don't come put together men. It took me, what?
Five years to get Louis trained.
Go New Hope Hawks. Go, go, go. New Hope Hawks.
Go, go, go, go, go onto Victory.
Fight! Fight! Go!
- Never got mine trained. - At least he can sing.
Oh he can.
But seriously, we thought Gavin was one of the good ones.
Kind heart. Oh, hot body.
You've gotta give him another
chance.
Yeah.
Come on in.
Hey bud. Good to see you. Yeah. Welcome.
Hi Mr Gavin.
Hey, I wanna talk to you.
Hey Charlie, - Who is that lady carrying a big instrument?
Well, she's a musician.
We're gonna jam to some Christmas music tonight.
It might get a little loud, but let your mom
know that it won't be too late. Okay?
- Okay. Can I come though? - I wish you could.
- Okay, - Gotta go. I'm sorry.
I'm alive once again for this lonely drifter.
Don't close the door...
Door, to your heart. Let me inside,
Buddy?
- Hey, Vicki. - Hey. No, no, no, no. -Okay.
What are you doing here?
Well, you said not to call unless I had money.
So bring it by in person.
Hey peanut, look what I got for you.
Thanks. Look, I got crap box.
- It's "craft" Charlie. - Wanna come and see it?
No. Charlie. No.
Oh.Hey. Wow. That's so cool. Yeah.
That's awesome. Hey, it's been a while.
Yep. Small world. Hey, you're living next to my family.
He is the best neighbor ever. Okay.
- Is that so? - Yup.
Okay. Moving in on my girls?
You mean, the ones you abandoned?
You know a lot about that.
No, no. Don't you dare
Gavin!
How did you do that?
- It was an accident. - You okay?
- Yeah. Yeah. - I think I pulled a muscle.
Let's just, let's just get you inside.
We'll put some ice on it.
I didn't think you were ever coming back.
Told you I just needed some time.
Did you tell Charlie that her dad's single is number
one in Germany?
- Wow. - I know, right? Tell you.
Seeing your posts of another guy
with his arms around you two,
it hurt me. I miss you.
- Why did you say that? - Because I do miss you. -No,
why did you say that to Gavin outside?
You don't know?
What?
Well, he left his wife in,
in a delicate situation.
No, no. He, he wouldn't do something like that.
Look it up.
Mom,
we need to ask Mr. Gavin.
Look, I I just want to fresh start.
I wanna make our family my priority.
Just gimme a chance, Vicky.
- I don't know what to say right now. - You don't
say anything.
Just keep your mind open to it. Okay.
When I saw what you have going with that agent,
it really opened my eyes.
And maybe I could get the same thing going
for me right here in New Hope.
You mean you would stay.
Let's just say that money is just the start.
Welcome to our Home to Heart Christmas Festival.
We will be announcing our Fix It Up
contest winner very soon.
- I'm getting a little bit nervous. - Why? - What if I don't win?
I can spin a win
over a loss so that you end up on top.
- Really? - It's what I do.
- Well, I've been looking for you. - Hi.
Look, I think what you did with your living room
was really impressive.
Thank you so much, Shannon. Yeah. So nice of you.
- This is my agent, Jackie Zinn. - Hi.
Hi. Big fan of your show.
- Big fan. - Thank you. Thank you very much.
Well, I gotta set up for the announcement, but good luck.
- Thank you. -Yes. Appreciate it. - It's nice meeting you.
- You too. She's tall. - Mom. Mom, can I have
some hot chocolate, please?
Yes, of course I can. I'll go get it right now.
- Three hot chocolates. - Oh, when in Rome. -Okay.
- I'll be right back. - Hey Charlie, would you like
to see your new social media account?
- Yes. - Look at that.
you're getting a lot new follower's. Good for a newbie.
And check out the, the craft, which you did with the pieces
of wood that's got a lot of comments.
Jackie Zinn. I have heard a lot about you.
Oh, oh yes. The long lost husband. Yes.
I've heard so much about you.
- Well, ex husband for now. - Really,
I'd like to pick your brain for a sec,
give me some social media advice.
Now I'm on the Gram.
And the Pum Num Tom,
and I'm wondering if I should get on the Split Splash.
You couldn't be cuter if you tried.
Mr. Gavin!
- Where's Charlie? - Oh, she was checking out her Gram page.
Did you show her this? Hey!
Did you show her this?
Yes. Dear.
Whoa! Um rude.
- Have you seen Charlie? - No.
She was just playing with the kids a little bit ago.
- Are you okay hon? - I can't find her anywhere.
- How did the Ornament party go? - Have you seen Charlie?
No, I'm sorry.
- Hey y'all. Hey - Y'all. So good to see you.
Thanks for coming out. If you're having a
good time, can I hear
Yep, yep! Yep, Yep!
Yeah. That was so loud. Yeah.
Welcome to our annual Home
to Heart Christmas competition in New Hope.
We are so proud to be a part of this community.
Yeah, we are. When we started renovating houses 10 years
ago, we had no idea
our little TV show would put New Hope on the map.
That's right. But we wanted to give back to y'all
with our first Christmas Fix It Up competition only
for New Hope residents.
Only for y'all. Now,
all the projects this year have been absolutely amazing.
Yes. And you voted for them.
We tallied up all the votes via social
media and we have a winner.
This is very exciting. Okay, who won?
The winner of our first annual competition is
Gavin Gardner! Congratulations.
So proud of you. Congratulations. -Thank you. Yeah.
Gosh. Wow. I'm honored.
And it's been amazing getting to know this town
and all of you have been so welcoming.
And I can just tell that this is going to be
Victoria, are you okay?
- I can't find Charlie. - Okay.
Wait, everyone, Charlie's missing. You might know her.
She's a 10-year-old girl living with Down syndrome.
She's wearing a red coat and glasses.
Please help us find her and spread out and,
and look for her please. Thanks.
Please. We'll, we'll, we'll, we'll help
Charlie!
Charlie!
- Charlie! - Charlie!
Charlie, Charlie!
- Charlie! - Charlie!
My daughter is missing
and I need any help I can get right now.
Her name is Charlie and she is the
sweetest 10-year-old you would ever meet.
You've seen her in a lot of my, my recent posts
actually foolishly just gave her her own Gram page.
Jackie, if you're watching, you are fired.
If anyone has seen Charlie or knows where she might be
or has any, any, any information at all,
please send me a message.
Did she just fire me?
I have never been fired.
Charlie!
Mom!
I'm so glad you're okay.
Oh,
Mom, I need some air.
Oh, honey, I was so worried about
you.
I didn't mean to get lost. I was
That's okay.
Did you read that comment on your post? I'm so sorry.
I don't want to social media.
Okay. I know. You don't have to. Okay. I promise.
Never again.
That was scary huh?
Yeah.
I am ready to tell you my Christmas wish now.
My Christmas wish is to have a dad.
Oh, honey, that's, that's not how it works.
Is the perfect time for you
to pert pose to my mom, Mr. Gavin
Pert pose?
Propose.
- Vicki, I... - Charlie, Gavin decided a long time ago,
he doesn't wanna be a dad.
I made this for you. From your old guitar strings.
Mom, me and dad.
Well, it's a, it's a beautiful ornament, Charlie.
Um
I can't accept this how you would like me to,
but at least we are friends.
I made it for you. I want you have it.
Means a lot, Charlie.
- Not enough. - Listen,
whatever you heard, it's not true.
Gavin,
stop.
Okay.
- Did you find her? - Yes. Thank you. -Thank goodness.
What a crazy day. Congratulations, by the way. -Thank you.
- Congrats. -Merry Christmas. - Merry Christmas.
Do it, man. Hey, I love you, man. Why'd you do it?
I heard you left your wife and kids. Was it drugs? Alcohol?
- It's none of your business. - Oh,
it's definitely our business.
You write all these love songs, but you're a poser.
You're a fraud. Not my child.
Alright, why didn't you check your facts
instead of making up trash?
Oh, did you catch that? Because she got pregnant
while I was on tour.
You said, and I quote, "I wanna make my family a priority."
- I'm a jerk. - Yeah, you are.
- Is she there? - Where are you?
I I thought I could do it.
I did. I got a last minute gig in
NYC, so I took the first flight out.
You, you left when Charlie was missing.
Jackie and I looked for her. We did.
But we saw on your post that you found her.
So I thought it would be okay that I left.
It'd be okay if you left.
It's Christmas Eve tomorrow, Buddy.
I know. Is she there?
Did you know that Gavin's wife
cheated on him when he was on tour?
- Is that the story? - Did you know that?
- I heard rumors. - So you intentionally misled me.
Isn't that your thing? Not telling the whole truth.
Pretending everything is perfect.
Buddy.
I'm not mad. I don't hate you.
I just, I just really, really wanna laugh
again.
I hope you find what you're looking for.
Hey, everyone, I really, really wanna thank all of you
who helped me find Charlie today.
She's back home safe. Thank God.
You know, I, I like to think
that I can fix everything on my own.
And I'm starting to realize that
that really is part of the problem.
I put so much energy into making everything look perfect
and creating this perfect image.
But the truth is my life, my life is falling apart.
I'll show you,
Of course the front porch always looks great,
but the second you walk in, you'll see that I'm,
I'm sleeping here.
That's my bed. And it's, it's in the living room.
The only usable bedroom is one Charlie has.
And in fact, none of my friends have even been into
to this house because I'm just, I'm so embarrassed.
And I, I don't, I don't want them to know how we're living.
This bathroom is the one that we use.
It's, I mean, it's, it's barely functioning.
It just barely works.
And that bathroom isn't even the worst one in the house.
This one is.
But, the truth is, there's this house is
so beyond repair.
And every single room that I was,
there's no way I could possibly get all of it.
And this is my kitchen.
This is Nana's stove from the seventies.
I think only one of the burners works now. Our
cabinets are all falling apart.
They don't close anymore.
The kitchen is just, it's barely
functioning just like everything else.
And the worst part about all of this is that
I can't even afford to keep this place, let alone fix it up.
This, it absolutely breaks my heart,
but there isn't anything I can do.
So for now on, what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna be real.
I'm not gonna pretend that everything is perfect,
because it clearly isn't.
And a lot of you might not like this real version of me.
And if you don't, you can feel free to unfollow
after everything that happened today,
I, this is just what I have to do.
Merry Christmas.
I am so proud of you. We saw your live stream.
- Yeah, thank you. - So when are you having us over?
I was thinking maybe next year, so like a week.
Put it on that one with the light. Santa's coming tonight.
I'm not getting my Christmas wish tonight.
Oh, well my mom told me
that it might snow. That's exciting.
Yeah, I guess.
Hey girls, come on. Let's go. Everyone's heading in.
Let's go.
A bright star lit the heavens
to light the Magi's way
To the baby on this manger
Born on this Christmas day.
Charlie, you're up.
And all who gathered around him rejoiced
and praise, his birth named the babe.
The king named Jesus is our Savior on this earth.
Fall on your knees.
Oh hear, the
angels voices.
Oh, night
divine.
O' night divine.
Thank you Aaron.
Thank you brother Aaron. Amen. Amen.
I know you all already get outta here, but
before we go, I was hoping that we could all sing one
of my favorite Christmas carols.
Silent Night. Can we do that? Okay.
Y'all take your candles out for me. Would you please?
Silent Night.
Holy Night.
All is calm.
All is bright.
Round young virgin mother and child.
Holy infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Amen.
- Have you seen Gavin Gardner? - No, I haven't.
Merry Christmas -Merry Christmas. Honey, I'll be right back.
- Okay, -Victoria. -Hi. - Merry Christmas.
- Merry Christmas. - Sorry
to bother you with business on Christmas Eve.
Is this yours?
I made it from Mr. Gavin's old guitar strings.
- Wow. - So you made that. Well, it's very special.
Well, I'm sure Charlie's
very happy to have it back. Thanks.
No, I'm not.
Okay. Sorry. Merry
Christmas.
But actually, we'd like to talk to you about the ornament.
Home to Heart designs an annual Christmas ornament
inspired by unique stories.
We saw Charlie's crafts
and we'd like to use her design next year.
If you would allow us.
And we'll pay of course.
I, What? What do you mean you'll, you'll pay?
Well, does 15% of sales work for y'all?
15. But you, you must sell a lot of ornaments, right?
We do. We all at the Bullseye.
Yeah. I mean, I think we did
around 1.5 million last year, right?
Oh, - Well y'all think about it and get back to us.
- Alright. - Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas.
Honey. Your ornament is gonna save Nana's house!
But Mr. Gavin didn't like it.
Charlie!
I wanted to give you, your Christmas present.
I didn't just write a song for Charlie.
When I look into your eyes, I see tomorrow.
Thought these dreams are dead and gone.
What have you done?
Hope's alive once again for the lonely drifter.
Don't close the door to your heart. Let me inside.
It's cold out here. Come in.
I should have told you the whole story about my ex-wife.
I should have just asked you.
I'm better when I'm with you,
but not like perfect or anything.
But definitely better. I need you.
Need me?
Well, I want you.
This is really nice
But,
I worked really hard on my song.
- Can I play for you? - Yes,
of course.
Hi, Charlie. Morning, honey. Merry Christmas.
I want to come home.
That's all I want for Christmas
To have you in my arms,
is my wish come true.
Baby, can I stay?
Let's make this forever. Because at the
end of the day, I want to come home to you.
I believe again in love that lasts
a lifetime.
A rooster!
Girl you got a way to make it all seem new.
My heart's got scars but it's yours for the taking.
It's not much, but all I am I give to you.
And I don't care how long it takes.
I wanna be with you on Christmas day.
Can we gather round the fireplace?
I want to come home.
That's all I want for Christmas. To have you
arms is my wish
come true. Baby can I stay?
Let's make this forever.
Cause at the end of the day, I wanna come home
to you.
Holiday crafts are so fun to do with the kids.
So tomorrow I'm gonna show you more crafts you can do
with your 8 to 11 year olds.
Thanks for joining me on
My Messy Life.
- Wow! Isn't it cool Mom? - It's very cool.
- Yeah. - Sorry,
was I too loud?
- No, not at all. - Mom.
Max asked if I can come over.
Sure. Yeah. I'll just grab my coat
and we'll, we'll walk over together.
Can I go by myself this time Mom.
I don't know.
You've you've never done that before.
We counted seven blocks. We counted it.
Ummmm, I don't know.
Why don't you ask your dad?
Can I?
Yes.
When I look into your eyes, I see tomorrow
thought these dreams are dead and gone.
What have you done?
Hopes alive once again for the lonely drifter.
Don't close the to your heart. Let me inside.
I want to come home.
It's all I want for Christmas. To have you in arms
is my wish come true.
Baby can I stay? Let's make this forever.
Cause at the end
of the day, I, wanna come home to you.
I, believe again in love that lasts a lifetime,
Girl you got a way of making all things new.
My hearts got scars but it's yours for the taking.
It's not much.
But all I am I give to you.
I wanna come home.
That's all I want for Christmas. To have you in my arms

I want to come home to you.
