What's up everybody,
my name is Kevin Lopez
I am a filmmaker, director, producer,
and high school principal
here in New York City
I'm gonna tell you, Un-Chin, about me
Let's go.
From independent film producer to
founding principal,
we're here in Queens, New York,
at Motion Picture Technical High School,
which is a school that I founded here,
put my heart and soul into
building a school like this.
That really helps and inspires
the next generation of filmmakers.
I started 20 years ago producing films
with my brother here in Queens,
from the Inquisition of Camillo Sanz
that's on HBO Latino,
to Hudson Tribes and Paradise City.
My journey as a filmmaker
has really brought me here
and brought things full circle.
I produce films like "Primera"
for good friends like Vee Bravo,
which is on HBO Max right now,
about the Estadillo Social in Chile.
And now I'm so excited
to be producing a film
called "La Salsa vive"
that's gonna be premiering at South by
Southwest this March.
so my advice to your creatives
is to always dream big.
Swing for the fences,
because you'll be
surprised what you can achieve.
Is designing the life
that you wanna live,
while also empowering the next
generation of storytellers.
