[Episode 44]

Your Highness, what happened? You’re bleeding so much!

Your Highness, are you okay?

Don’t worry. I was the one who made the incision.

I’ve been poisoned.

I’ll get the imperial doctor right away. Wait here.

Come back!

Stop spreading news all over the manor.

A’Wu.

Senior Maidservant Xu, what’s happened?

What on earth has happened to A’Wu?

Su’er, Her Highness has... Suffered a grievance.

Did Xiao Qi let her down?

All right. I’ll tell you the truth,

even if Her Highness blames me in the future.

There are things you aren’t aware of.

Prince Yuzhang has caused harm and brought suffering to Her Highness.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Emperor’s Conquests@ Viki.com

A contraceptive tonic?

Is Xiao Qi laughing at the fact that there’s no one in the Wang family to defend her?

I’m going to look for him right now.

- Su’er, don’t behave rashly! - I’m behaving rashly?

I regret not being more rash and wrecking their wedding back then!

I will not spare him, even if I have to relinquish my title of Prince of Jiangxia!

Su’er!

Well? Did you succeed?

Did you succeed?

I almost succeeded. A servant ruined our plans.

Qian’er, You’re all ready like this

yet you did not succeed?

Prince Yuzhang realised I wasn’t Wang Xuan and wanted to chase me out.

I had no choice but to make an even bigger deal of the situation

so that he’d find it difficult to vindicate himself and have no choice but to take me in.

We’ve already created this chaos. Prince Yuzhang has no choice but to admit it even if he doesn’t want to.

For now... For now, let’s just think of a way so that I can marry into Prince Yuzhang’s household.

We can discuss the other matters at a later date.

Qian’er, what other plans do you have?

Mother, when I was in the study, I eavesdropped on a secret.

A secret?

If Her Highness were to become pregnant again, I’m afraid it would be impossible to keep the child.

If she were to suffer a miscarriage again, that would be the end of the rope for her.

Your Highness forces a smile everyday

while coaxing Her Highness to drink the contraceptive tonic so she can stay alive.

That was the actual truth of the matter?

- Elder Sister A’Wu. - Princess Consort.

Qian’er.

Tell me exactly what happened. Leave nothing out.

Don’t worry.

If His Highness truly committed this atrocity,

Prince Yuzhang’s Manor will definitely give you the justice you deserve.

Elder Sister, I...

Mother.

Your Highness, there is a huge secret attached to this matter.

Qian’er, She

Doesn’t dare speak of it.

A huge secret? Matters have already reached this stage. What else is there that cannot be said?

Prince Yuzhang in older sister’s everyday medicine

to your medicine.

After long term use, Elder Sister will never be able to bear children.

Nonsense!

Sister, Qian’er also doesn’t believe

I only went to look for His Highness because I wanted justice for you,

But who would have thought The Prince hugged Qian’er

Saying

Saying what?

The Prince said

Qian’er don’t dare say

Tell me what did The Prince say

The Prince hugged Qian’er saying Princess Consort can’t be pregnant

The Prince hopes that Qian’er will stay at his side

and bear children for him.

And then those children will be reared by Your Highness instead.

Princess Consort Sister

Mother is telling the truth.

If older sister doesn’t believe you can ask palace’s imperial doctor

Whether you suffer from an unmentionable illness or not,

all will be revealed after you’ve questioned him.

This is an enormous secret.

How could it have been revealed to me unless His Highness told it to me himself?

Good

Get imperial doctor Yes

Wait

Ask two more imperial doctor to here

so they can make a diagnosis all at the same time.

Servant will go now

Yes

You immoral and despicable person! Get out of the way!

Stop You dare with A’Wu and Qian’er

to A’Wu and Qian’er?

Are you bullying them because there’s no one in the Wang clan to defend them?

The Prince, The Prince Stop

- I’ll kill you! - Prince Jiangxia!

- Stop hitting him! - Stop!

- Calm down! Stop hitting him! - Our A’Wu has been nothing but faithful to you!

Are you even human?

Senior Maidservant Xu, hurry up and bring the Princess Consort over.

All right, all right! Stop, don’t hit him anymore!

Stop! If you hit him again, you will be killed on the spot!

Stop, all of you.

What am I going to do?

Stand down.

What happened to his hand?

His Highness was trying to draw the poison out.

Posion?

The Prince has been poisoned

Poison?

What sort of joke is this?

Who would be capable of that in this enormous manor of his?

He’s just bullying the Wang clan because there’s no one to defend us!

Prince Jiangxia!

You have to stop hitting him! Prince Jiangxia!

You scared me! Senior Maidservant Xu, where did you go?

Her Highness was looking for you.

Where is she? Quickly take me to her.

Her Highness is in Miss Qian’er’s chambers right now.

She wants me to go to the imperial palace and summon the Imperial Physicians so they can diagnose her.

Senior Maidservant, you should go and look for her first.

What’s the matter? Has Her Highness burst into a fury?

It’s hard to explain in a few words. Miss Qian’er said His Highness forced himself upon her

because Her Highness could not bear children for him.

Who said that? How absurd!

His Highness is the one who’s secretly making Her Highness drink the contraceptive tonic every day.

The truth will all be revealed once the Imperial Physicians arrive.

Senior Maidservant, you should go first. I’m leaving for the palace now.

She can’t have children?

Princess Consort

Your Highness, now that matters have turned out this way,

there’s no other alternative for us.

You, me, Qian’er

We all have to get over it.

I’m hoping for a plan that is completely foolproof.

Princess Consort

what I’m trying to say is, His Highness behaved inappropriately,

but after all is said and done, he will still continue to show solicitude for you and cherish you.

After all, isn’t it more frightening

to leave a young life ruined in vain rather than to take in a concubine?

Your Highness!

Your Highness!

Your Highness! Please follow me to the study!

Prince Jiangxia is fighting with His Highness!

Your Highness.

Please be careful.

Mother.

What am I going to do if Prince Yuzhang refuses to admit anything no matter what?

If he refuses to admit it? It can’t be that simple.

Such a huge controversy happened tonight. Everyone in the entire manor was alarmed.

He won’t be able to defend himself even if he has a convincing explanation.

And the best part is that

Wang Su is here as well.

There’s one more witness to the whole situation.

Even if he retreats

and if Prince Yuzhang still refuses to admit it even on pain of death, then we will expose the situation,

enter the palace and make a huge fuss in front of the emperor and empress dowager.

Once this has been let known,

how could Hulan allow you to marry into their royal family?

They would have to cancel the wedding eventually.

As for marrying into Prince Yuzhang’s household?

That is bound to happen sooner or later.

Mother said right

No matter what it is, we can always discuss the other matters once tonight has passed.

- Prince Jiangxia! - Let go of me!

- Prince Jiangxia! - I’m going to kill him!

- Calm down! - I’m going to kill him!

You have to stop attacking him!

Get away from me!

- Prince Jiangxia! - Let go!

- Prince Jiangxia! - I’m going to kill him!

Prince Jiangxia!

Prince Jiangxia! Stop!

Get away from me! Let go!

Stop attacking him!

I’m going to kill him! I’m going to kill him!

Stop attacking him!

Prince Jiangxia!

- I’m coming! I’m coming, I’m coming. - Imperial Physician Shen!

Please hurry!

- All right, all right. I’m coming. - Here.

Miss A’Yue, everything was fine when I left Prince Yuzhang’s manor earlier.

- What’s happened this time? - You’ll know once you get there.

- All right, all right. - Please hurry and get on the carriage.

All right, all right.

Su’er.

I’m afraid we’ve wrongly accused His Highness with regards to this matter.

We’ve wrongly accused him?

It’s so obvious as to what he’s done. What have I wrongly accused him of doing?

I only just found out about it.

When Her Highness suffered the miscarriage, she also suffered from metrorrhagia and was at death’s door.

Even though Her Highness survived due to the treatments administered by the Imperial Physicians,

she still ended up being permanently injured and her illness incurable.

She’s not supposed to get pregnant anymore.

Even if she does become pregnant, it would be almost impossible to keep the child.

It would be a matter of life or death should the time come for her to give birth.

How could this have happened?

I was initially incessantly furious because I thought His Highness

had his own selfish motives for feeding Her Highness the contraceptive tonic,

but little did I know he had done it out of consideration for her.

I may have wrongly accused him with regards to that matter.

But what about Qian’er? How are you going to explain what happened to Qian’er?

If this can be tolerated, what else cannot?

Su’er, you heard it yourself.

Prince Yuzhang appears to have mistakenly ingested an aphrodisiac.

According to Her Highness, there might be another layer of complexity with regards to this matter.

The Imperial Physicians will be here in a moment.

Let’s just be patient and wait for new developments.

We’ll discuss this again when the Imperial Physicians arrive.

Imperial Physicians, this way, please.

Miss, what on earth happened tonight?

You’ll understand once you get there.

Greetings, Prince Jiangxia.

Senior Maidservant Xu, I’ve brought the Imperial Physicians here already.

- This old and worthless one greets the Prince of Jiangxia. - You may dispense with the formalities.

To cut the long story short, I need to know which one of you is the Imperial Physician who attended to A’Wu.

Replying to Prince Jiangxia. It was this old and worthless one.

All right.

Senior Maidservant Xu.

Please.

This way, please.

I am about to ask you some questions.

You must tell me nothing but the truth.

Replying to Prince Jiangxia. This old and worthless one will tell you all I know without any reservations.

Good.

Let me ask you this. Is it true

that A’Wu is unable to conceive?

This...

This old and worthless one doesn’t dare reply.

Why not?

Because this old and worthless one has already promised Prince Yuzhang

that I will not tell anyone else about Princess Consort Yuzhang’s medical condition.

Do you think you’ll still be able to lean on his power tonight and continue hiding this from everyone?

This...

Yes, Your Highness.

Speak.

I want you to tell me

why you added contraceptives to my medicine.

Don’t you want us to have children?

I do.

Of course I do.

But the day the late emperor passed away, you sustained an incurable illness after suffering from the miscarriage.

The Imperial Physician said that if you became pregnant again,

you would most likely miscarriage again.

And if you suffered another miscarriage, you would die.

That is why I...

What if... Later on...?

In the future, I will definitely find a way to cure you,

even if I have to go to the ends of the earth and comb numerous hills and streams.

What if you can’t? What if I can’t be cured?

You won’t be able to have children ever.

All of my children will only come from you, Wang Xuan.

Even if we end up having no children,

when I’ve gotten old and become senile and muddleheaded,

I will still have you for company. You are all I need.

Do you remember what I said to you in Ningshuo?

I am willing to repeat myself if you have forgotten.

From that day forth,

and for the rest of my life.

What happened tonight–

From today onwards,

I will never be jealous nor suspicious of you ever again.

This old subject greets Prince Yuzhang and Princess Consort Yuzhang.

Your Highness, His Highness has been doped with a very strong aphrodisiac.

The dosage is extremely lethal.

Ordinarily, such a strong dose would have caused his veins to flow backwards

and inflict severe damage to his health,

but he managed to drain away most of the poisoned blood

thanks to the self-inflicted incision.

Mother.

Mother, I’m feeling very perturbed and nervous.

Mother, perhaps you should go and take a look at the situation.

What time do they call this already?

Have they actually managed to keep their composure?

Precisely.

All right. I’ll go and take a look.

Princess Consort! I hope nothing terrible has happened to Prince Jiangxia and His Highness.

Why did they fight?

I have been informed of the whole truth already.

I came over to give you both an explanation.

That is great news!

Your Highness, how will you help Qian’er settle down?

Settle down?

When did I say I was going to help her settle down?

Your Highness, what do you mean?

Did His Highness deny everything?

He’s the Prince of Yuzhang. He can deny everything if he wishes to.

I can’t help it if he denies everything.

Let me ask you this.

How did you manage to enter His Highness’ study?

I... Entered through the main door.

I want to know how you got in.

I... Told the guards guarding the doors

I was looking for Prince Yuzhang so I could talk to him about you.

They let me in after that.

Where were the guards?

They were at the bottom of the stairs.

Your Highness,

if they refused Qian’er entry,

how would she have been able to make her way in?

All right.

Then why did both guards say they never saw you?

Earlier in the evening, Madam Xue fell down and injured her leg

outside the study. She couldn’t walk,

and wanted us to walk her back to her chambers.

But we truly did not see Miss Qian’er enter the study.

At that time, the study was devoid of guards.

Miss Qian’er must have taken advantage of the situation and slipped into the study.

Those guards are His Highness’ subordinates.

Naturally, they will say whatever His Highness wants them to say.

Perhaps His Highness already arranged everything beforehand

and purposely allowed Qian’er into the study.

This is also a possibility.

It is as you said.

His Highness already predicted Wang Qian would go there,

so he prepared the medication and waited for her.

- Medication? - Medication?

What medication is that?

Elder Sister, what are you doing?

Your Highness, what are you–

What is that scent on your body?

W-What do you mean? What scent is on my body?

Don’t you know?

What about you?

I... I do not know either.

You’ve already forgotten that quickly?

It is Qiluo Xiang.

How could the Wang clan of Langya produce such despicable and filthy creatures such as you two?

- You–! - How could you say such a thing?

The two of us have been such model guests,

but we ended up opening a can of worms for no reason at all!

Your Highness, that attitude of yours

has disappointed me bitterly.

You’re bitterly disappointed?

The nerve of you!

Should you really be the one who’s bitterly disappointed?

You were living a good life in the Prime Minister’s manor,

but then you suddenly started crying and making a huge fuss because you wanted to live here.

I took care of you out of the kindness of my heart,

but the two of you

have been nothing but vicious.

You deceived me right from the start!

The laws of heaven will manifest themselves clearly! Your Highness, how could you blame us and shirk responsibility?

Where is our justice?

Prince Yuzhang, you are not familiar with the entertainment world,

so it is only natural that you have not heard of Qiluo Xiang.

That is how I determined

you were being framed.

I just knew His Highness

would never do such a thing.

Thank you very much, Prince Jiangxia.

You’re still the most impressive!

Impressive in what way?

Are you trying to say I am able to move unhindered in the entertainment world

and settled the case by sniffing scents?

This...

Let me ask you one more question.

It doesn’t matter if you were framed

or if you couldn’t restrain yourself.

Did you touch Wang Qian or not?

I did not.

I really admire you for that.

You’d rather injure yourself than remain confused.

I wouldn’t have been able to do that if it were me.

I was being rash and impulsive.

I have offended you greatly. Prince Yuzhang, please forgive me.

I too did not expect that you would be the one

who would prove my innocence, Prince Jiangxia.

All right. I will take my leave now.

Housekeeper, I will have to trouble you in helping Prince Yuzhang get some rest.

Yes, Your Highness.

- By the way, you should steep some strong tea for His Highness so he can expel the poison. - I will.

I will take my leave.

- Imperial Physician Shen. - I am present.

- Follow me. - Yes, Your Highness.

This subject will take my leave.

Here, sit down.

I’ll go and boil some tea for you.

You have the gall to even mention the laws of heaven

and justice.

What is the point in conversing with these snakes and scorpions?

A’Wu, have you seen them clearly for yourself now?

These are the sort of people you have been pleading for!

A’Wu had to humble herself

and plead with Helan Zhen because of you.

Helan Zhen just sent this to us.

Go and take a good look at it yourselves!

Qian’er!

“I, Helan Zhen, Special Envoy to Hulan, has received Princess Consort Yuzhang’s kinship.”

“I have taken our friendship of life and death into account and hereby acknowledge her as an intimate friend.”

“Thereupon I have decided to relieve Princess Consort Yuzhang’s younger clan sister”

“Wang Qian from the Langya Wang Clan of the marriage alliance treaty.”

“And choose another woman to enter into marriage.”

This is the written evidence,

Helan Zhen

Mother

- Qian’er - Mother - You don’t have to go to Hulan

You don’t have to go to Hulan anymore

Qian’er finally don’t have to go to Hulan

This is real?

They two really dare be like this

Replying to Empress Dowager, Servant do your order

Servant have always been keeping an eye this Lord Yuzhang Manor

Earlier today,In Empress Dowager’s name have

Already ask Imperial doctor

Mud-headed

Speaking of which this Qian’er lady isn’t a way to stop

Fortunately, she did not enter the palace.

Both are daughters of the Wang clan

and their appearances are alike,

yet Your Majesty’s attitude towards the two is clearly different.

Cloud mud is different and come to think

No matter what, I still believe

If I was like last time being by someone assassinated

A’Wu will protect me like last time, Blocking my front side

My heart aches for her

But I have calculated against her

This is the world’s helplessness

Your Prince Jiangxia is interesting

Yesterday night, invited me as a guest for Emperor

To change the alliance princess

What tune is he playing?

Replying to Hulan Prince, Servant is at the commands

And marry Hulan in a few days’ time.

This is a huge joyous event between my Great Cheng and Hulan.

Indeed a joyous event.

Then do you you think is this our Hulan Prince’s explanation

We have obstructed the Hulan prince’s path. I will move aside right away.

Move aside, move aside! Clear the path for the Hulan prince!

Older Sister Jin’er, just now, someone from the same village as you sent a letter to you.

Same village?

Prince of Anping is back

He is back

Qian’er, Don’t Qian’er, Lady

Qian’er, Don’t be like this, don’t be like this

What happened to her?

She repeatedly tried to commit suicide after the eunuch came to deliver the conferment edict.

She also said many disrespectful things to Princess Consort Yuzhang.

Qing’er and Song Huai’en’s wedding is in a day?

Yes. - Don’t!

Let’s do this. Once Qing’er arrives in Hulan,

use the name of the patriarch of the Wang clan to allow Madam Xue to return to Langya’s hometown.

She is not allowed into the capital for the rest of her life.

Yes, Master.

Last night, I slept very well.

Today, I woke up earlier than usual.

My mood is better than before as well.

Without those people who causes trouble,

this manor is peaceful once again.

Just being like this makes me feel at ease in my heart.

What wrong with you?

Yu Xiu

Here

Bring the wine that you and the Princess Consort usually drink.

Yes

This is morning

I don’t drink alcohol

I want to drink a bit

You usually do not drink any wine.

Let’s make an exception today.

There must be something on your mind.

Last night, we both agreed

to not hide anything from each other.

Because we have that agreement,

there is something

I feel that I must tell you

What is it?

My father-in-law,

your father,

is gone.

What do you mean?

A letter came from the nothern region.

The village he lived in was in a great fire.

No one survived.

I don’t believe

His jade pendant was found.

Your older brother already knows.

Fearing that you would not be able to handle it due to your health conditions,

I didn’t tell you.

I don’t believe, I’ll go to find older brother

It’s true.

Do you know where is Chunlai Alley?

Chunlai Alley?

Isn’t that Chunlai Alley?

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Emperor’s Conquests@ Viki.com

Miss Jin’er, please.

Jin’er, long time no see

Prince of Anping, Why are you here?

It’s so plain and simple here.

You shouldn’t stay here

It is indeed worn and broken here yet is safe so I can stay with no worries.

However, I am setting out to return to the imperial mausoleum tonight.

You are leaving tonight?

I do not understand.

Those people are enjoying the wonders of the capital

yet leave you to suffer at the imperial mausoleum.

Although there is suffering at the imperial mausoleum, as long as empress dowager and imperial brother can rest assured,

I can live longer.

You have suffered.

Is she well?

Princess Consort?

Princess Consort...

That’s right. No matter how unwilling I am,

I can only call her

“Princess Consort Yuzhang” now.
