We had to move because my

move too, far, far away.

My great-great-great
grandmother was Cherokee,

but since she married someone
that wasn't,

she ended up staying here,

but most of her family
and friends moved away.

History always felt like

that happened so long ago
to people I didn't know,

so it didn't really have
anything to do with me.

But this summer,

what happened almost 200
years ago became very real,

and I learned that the past
is linked with the present,

and that history is more
important than I thought.
