Stars from Coronation Street...

The Chase and Loose Women

have taken a break from their day jobs

and formed groups to perform live on this very stage.

And when I say live, I mean LIVE.

One of them will be crowned Britain Get Singing Champions

and spend Christmas feeling joyful,

triumphant and, yeah, probably a little bit smug, as well.

Er, but look, this is all for a very good cause,

supporting ITV's Britain Get Talking campaign,

because we all know talking can make you feel better

and so can singing.

And that's why we've got a packed show just for you.

So, let's get straight on and meet our panel of super judges.

What's up, everybody? Merry Christmas.

Will is a rapper, a singer, a songwriter,

and he's produced some of the biggest pop tracks in the industry.

This guy really knows his stuff.

And he's won seven Grammys. JASON: That's showbiz.

Jason is a brilliant comedian and a fantastic singer.

He's also just a "stand-up" guy.

Maybe leave the jokes to me.

Cool, calm and collected.

Alesha has been in a group,

so she has that experience of being on stage with others.

She's judged ballroom, singing, magic and even dancing dogs.

Bring it on!

Ooh, yeah!

Adam is the front man of one of the biggest bands of all time.

He's a bold performer, and that voice...

This is Christmas Eve, but I'm still gonna be judging.

For one night only, these celebs are stepping out of their comfort zone.

They will want to win. I mean, how can you not?

Alesha, I mean, why is this cause so close to your heart?

I mean, I think Britain Get Talking is amazing.

It's all about connecting with other people

and putting your mental health first, and it really works.

And I think another brilliant way

for us to connect with each other is through singing.

So, it's basically two of my favourite things -

chat down and a great singalong.

Cos I did hear that as a rumour, that you were a big Corrie fan.

I've heard that you've been down the Rover.

No, I keep hearing about Corrie, and I... Yeah. Ah, mate.

I've gotta admit, I haven't seen it before.

Yes, and this show is a celebration of people coming together

I feel anxious about it.

It was just something so powerful and... emotional

with us all doing it together.

I get anxious doing me proper job.

Which is acting. I totally get it.

Even after all these years.

So doing something like this, which I've never done before,

I did get nervous.

I struggle with anxiety, and I have done for years.

And, like, I can talk to you about it,

and that really helps me cos I can...

I'm not ashamed of it. I am not.

I'm not gonna be ashamed of it because it's part of who I am.

Having people around you who you can talk to is so important,

and people at work are great listeners.

We're gonna give it a go, aren't we? Yeah, we are.

I'm quite looking forward to it now. Mm. Yeah.

And because we're all together as well,

I think there's a comfort in that support,

that if we go down, we go down together.

I mean, if there's one group of people who need a stress reliever,

And, Michael, look, you know, I know the others have mentioned it,

but there's something about you, from watching you all these years.

You're part of a lot of our lives.

We see you more than our own family, you know, over the years.

To see you come out the comfort zone and do that,

as you saw, I gave it a standing ovation.

It got the crowd on their feet.

Ah, well, we've obviously been rehearsing,

so we've heard everybody.

It's like Heston Blumenthal's Christmas dinner.

It's like a random bunch of ingredients

you never thought you'd see together,

but somehow, it kinda works. Yeah.

This is very much out of our comfort zone.

We did do some good singalongs in the villa. Luca loved it.

'It's a hard thing to do, put yourself out your comfort zone.'

But I think that's a great thing, especially for the sake of a cause

where we almost ask people to push themselves

out of their comfort zone and speak about how they feel.

When you're a boy growing up, if you're in sports,

I think no-one wants to speak about emotions.

I still find it hard to talk to someone.

When I was younger, I would never talk to anyone about my feelings,

so when I first spoke about my mental health...

..it felt like a relief.

So now, talking to my mates about mental health, it's noticeable

that they've actually gone through similar things,

but we've just not spoke about it.

You two are doing a good thing, just letting it...

Nice to see us singing. Yeah, just letting it all out.

Going the extra mile, not talking, singing. Yeah!

This isn't something I'd usually be comfortable doing,

so if we can go up on the stage and sing in front of millions,

then hopefully, it can show the lads

that they can talk to people close to them.

Yeah. And if they don't have anyone, reach out.

Yeah, we've got a good chance of winning, I reckon.

Yeah, who said Love Islanders were talentless? Pff!

where I saw every bloke on a Friday night

and the thing that I love really the most about your performance

is when Andrew and Luca...

There's something about bonding and looking to each other

when you're uncomfortable.

We do that in the Black Eyed Peas all the time.

You made that eye-contact bond,

and to me, that was like brotherhood.

It reminded me of my best friends in my group,

so you guys did awesome.

that are super nervous, so imagine how it must feel

if it's not what you do for a living.

So I think you did brilliantly. Yeah. Yeah.

Antigoni, you got high praise tonight, but I wanna know,

what's the vibe like backstage with the other shows?

You know what? The Chasers are not messing around.

They have their game face on all the time.

I'm kind of scared. But, no, do you know what?

The vibe backstage has actually been lovely, and all of us feel honoured

to be here among, like, these legends

and doing this for a cause that we genuinely all really believe in,

and that's what this is all about, so... Yeah.

because my son passed away earlier in the year,

and at the moment, everything is a trigger.

We've all got a close bond with Brenda,

especially cos she's been through such a tough time.

To lose a son, it's the worst thing that can happen to anybody.

I'm doing this in honour and in memory of my son Jamal.

Music seems to help me

if I'm feeling down or haven't got you guys around to make a joke.

Unless you've been through depression and anxiety,

which I know us two have... Yeah.

..it's really important to talk about it.

And we talk about it a lot on Loose Women, don't we?

I have had a tough year,

and talking to the ladies was very comforting.

I am really grateful that I have them as that unit around me, yeah.

to be performing on Britain Get Singing.

Collectively, the harmonies were just so stunning.

When I was in school, I wasn't even allowed into the school choir, so...

I tend not to believe anyone who says that.

I'm a bit nervous that I might undermine everybody else.

He's doing his best,

but I don't know how this is gonna go.

Good! This is the perfect song because this is about resilience,

it's about facing criticism and being your own person.

'Singing is good for you in a lot of ways.'

It can pull you out of a downward spiral.

Doing anything that you really enjoy,

especially if you can do it together, is a huge plus.

It is actually a chemical neurotransmitter reaction

in your brain, this is how we feel happy,

and singing can really elicit that response.

And it's nice to actually be singing with you.

It's lovely, isn't it? Yeah.

There's something really special, I think,

about hearing people around you sing, as well.

It really lifts my mood.

It's funny that the first line of I'm Still Standing is,

"You could never know what it's like."

Cos I thought it was just me,

and then, when I started to talk to people,

I realised it wasn't.

Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain.

It's a physical issue.

It is like breaking your arm or breaking your leg.

We talk about that,

so why don't we talk about depression?

I was first diagnosed with depression at the age of 18.

But probably not until my late 20s that I really nailed down

that there was a connection between singing and my mood improving.

The power of music and creating music together

can change people's lives.

Tonight is gonna be one big Christmas party,

and we're gonna want to put in an A-class performance.
