[Only Side by Side with You]

[Episode 28]

From now on, we're strangers.

I will fight with any stranger that hurts Nan Qiao until the end.

Was I also a part of the scheme?

I can't say anything right now.

You can't say anything? About you, about us?

The only thing I can tell you...

is that this kiss is real.

It's genuine.

Prepare to delete everything from the database.

Program initializing. All data will be deleted. Please confirm.

Who hasn't run into a couple shitty men in their lives?

Your life will be better without them.

Xiao Qiao, you'll always be Future Up's boss.

You should also know that I said I liked you most

because you're like me. We're same type of people.

You also told me to never be genuine.

To never show anyone any sincerity.

Not everything can be resolved by taking revenge.

What about people?

Not everyone can be forgotten just because you give them up.

I used his paper and his ideas and put on a show for you.

I'm just a liar from head to toe.

But why?

Because the me at the time was too desperate to gain your favor.

They just assumed he sold the paper

for the purpose of paying back the loan sharks.

Even I thought the only thing he needed was money.

When he was being questioned, he didn't say I knew about the paper.

He didn't give them my name even when he was facing expulsion.

You should go to bed. I'll leave after I sit for a while.

What do you mean?

I'm supposed to get up in the middle of the night to lock after you?

Okay. I'll sleep here then.

I put the drone you left here last time in your brother's room.

I'll give you what you want. You let Nan Qiao go.

I won't give you that much time.

All things considered... he still has a lot to be vengeful about.

You say that everything you said was just for show...

yet you supported me all along the way.

Was the dream we both shared once a lie as well?

Shi Yue.

Your act is really good, but I still believe in you.

I believe that you said those words in order to protect Nan Qiao.

It's better to nip things in the bud rather than prolong everyone's agony.

You said that, didn't you?

Between tea and coffee, I find I prefer coffee.

I like coffee more, of course.

President Shi.

I also enjoy tea though.

Shi Yue!

Come here for a moment.

Hao Jie and I still have outlines to go over.

Why don't we talk later?

All the better that Hao Jie is here. VIVE's President Qiu is here.

I'm sure you'd love to discuss technology with him.

Yeah, sure! Let's go.

VIVE's President Qiu. I saw your TED talk on entertainment design.

It left a huge impression on me.

President An, this is...

I'm a huge fan.

This here is my business card.

Wings is still just starting out.

We greatly need your help.

CEO at such a young age? Your future seems promising.

- President An, you're fortunate. - Thank you.

President An was determined to have Wings partner with VIVE.

We have the means and the technology. Dominating the Chinese market...

should be a piece of cake.

This is clearly a result of everyone's fortune.

How does this man know so much about this project?

He's our newest technology director, Hao Jie.

- Hello. - Hello.

President Qiu, Shi Yue is young...

but even Hao Jie, who has worked in Silicon Valley for over a decade

looks up to him.

After all, with technology, it's about what you can do.

Whether you're looked up to depends on whether your technology is up to mark.

Of course.

Well then, I'm handing you my people and their technology.

- Have a good chat with him. - President Qiu.

What should we destroy first when we get to Wings?

You need to reign in your temper to accomplish big things.

You're not going to reason with them, are you?

That's not why we're here?

If you want to destroy things, you should've brought bigger partners.

I'm so skinny, I don't suit it.

- What suits you then? - Cold wars.

I can use the telephone cords to enter their network.

I can shut down their websites and destroy all their work plans.

Scaredy cat.

I think Kui's right.

They're messing with us professionally so we have to make them pay back

many times over, using gentlemanlike methods.

Gentlemanly? I tell you to be gentlemanly towards me

and you say it's girly.

Now you're all about acting gentlemanly?

No, by "gentlemanly," what I mean is... intelligent!

Shi Yue!

Shi Yue, get out here!

- Miss, I'm sorry-- - Shi Yue, get out here!

- Shi Yue! - You can't go in there!

I'm sorry, you really can't enter!

Screw you!

- They're over here! - Oh look, all the scum in one place!

What is this?

How low did Wings lower their heads in order to work with you, President Qiu?

Don't look at me! You're obviously full of shit.

I want you to explain yourself in front of everyone!

Shi Yue! You, you move it.

The three of us aren't as smart as you and our tongues aren't as slick.

You used your silver tongue to seduce our boss...

then you take our money, and then you destroy our data before you leave.

I just want to ask you all what kind of conduct is this?

- Thief! - Asshole!

Shameless!

Boss, there's trouble! Kui, Qin, and Xiao An went to Wings!

They said they were going to get revenge for you.

- Call and tell them to get back here! - Understood.

[Shi Yue: Do I call the cops or are you going to get them out of here?

Boss! Boss!

Are you okay?

Sorry.

You...

You're all old friends. We should talk nicely.

Don't get angry.

President Qiu, let's go wait next door.

Let's go, President Qiu.

This way, please.

Are you done?

Are you done?

You three get out.

This is between me and him.

How is this between you and him?

Yeah. This is between our companies.

No one is leaving until we resolve this!

Shi Yue.

Chang Jian Xiong told me everything.

We owe you.

I can understand, no matter what you do to Future Up.

You understand?

Do they?

Do you guys know? Chang Jian Xiong stole my documents.

That's the reason your company has gotten where it is today.

So all of you stepped on my shoulders to get where you are now.

- Boss. - Boss.

It's true.

You see?

Then why have you still brought them here to cause trouble?

You haven't had enough of my revenge?

It's you... so I don't believe this is real.

Don't tell me you really fell for me.

Allow me to inform you then... this was all a scheme.

The trip to the sea, investing in Future Up...

and that night. All of it are spoils from my war with Chang Jian Xiong.

Understood?

Also, you should know that every product and plan you produce hereinafter

will all be killed by Wings.

Good luck.

[Chinese Enterprise Purchases Drone Development Company]

[Chinese Drones Enter Global Market]

[Wings]

It's you... so I don't believe this is real.

It's a pity that you aren't an actor.

You're the epitome of a successful businessman in front of me.

Nan Qiao comes, and you turn into a man seeking revenge.

And you also play the part of a man who plays with people's feelings.

I was always a piece of scum that plays with people's feelings.

Aren't you afraid?

I wouldn't have gone to Wings if I'd known.

Now it's all awkward.

I wonder whose crap idea this was.

I did it for Boss! Who expected the twist to be so dramatic?

The face of an angel, the heart of a beast...

A man after revenge...

Clearly Chang Jian Xiong was in the wrong first.

Xiao An, don't you have any morals?

Even if he was in the wrong...

Shi Yue shouldn't have seduced Boss for revenge!

It seems that none of his feelings for her were genuine.

What a huge blow.

If it were me, I'd never fall in love again.

Xiao An, don't worry. You won't run into such a situation. Know why?

Because it's really hard for anyone

to find an excuse to play with your feelings.

This VR headset model is well-manufactured.

That's what you'd expect of VIVE's trump card.

- If Wings can develop it properly-- - Boss!

Are we just going to let Wings do what they want?

Another competitor, another product. Another person who understands drones...

- It's a good thing. - A good thing?

Wings is sending us into ruins!

Boss, you can't stand for the other side just because of one man!

Enough, let's stop. We can't mess up our own rhythm.

We'll figure out how to resolve the company's issues together.

Give Xiao Qiao some time to resolve the issues with Shi Yue.

I won't turn my own problems into the company's problems.

Shouldn't we all be focusing on work, especially now?

Let's go.

It's crowded tonight.

Safety is number one. Make sure nothing happens.

Go on.

An Ning.

What do you want to drink? I'll make it.

- Shi Yue. Is he here? - Yes, of course. I'll go get him.

An Ning's here. Better come out.

An Ning is here.

Stop drinking, An Ning's here!

Come on. Get up!

Get up!

Why didn't you tell me you were coming?

Come, sit.

I just came here for a drink...

with someone interesting.

Let's get ourselves something interesting.

Look.

This drink looks bright and flashy.

But in the center... I place a piece of bitter deadwood.

Know what this drink is called?

"The Hypocrite."

This drink isn't for you. It's for me. Only I suit it.

Don't worry though.

I've got a drink for you.

Do you know what this drink is called?

"Ashes of Dreams."

And because of that...

It's yours.

You know that I never dream.

I only know that if I want something, I have to fight for it.

You left in such a rush today that you left your things behind.

Since your dreams have already turned to ash...

I don't mind if you choose to return.

Get me another.

I'm going to kill you! Kill you for betraying us.

I'm going to smash you to bits!

She came here to cheer you up, but she's getting really into that.

What's up with her?

Xiao Qiao, if I recall correctly, you always got the top score.

Chang Jian Xiong used to secretly call you Gopher Queen.

Now seeing Wendy... I think your title is in danger.

Let's compete.

She's issued her challenge!

What's at stake here?

A drink outing. We drink until we drop.

Don't be afraid of losing!

Okay.

Quick, here!

Faster, faster!

Faster, faster!

Here, let me!

Xiao Qi! Xiao Qi, don't go.

Move it, move it!

Xiao Qi, don't leave me!

Xiao Qi, hug me tight.

You said so much in your sleep last night.

- You dreamt so much and said so much. - You heard wrong, you were wasted.

You said, "Nan Qiao! Don't go!"

"Nan Qiao, I don't want to leave you."

I recorded it with my phone. Let me show you.

You're going to make yourself ill like this.

You're the one that's ill.

But your illness is curable. Do you know why?

Why?

Everyone has me tied up with Wings and An Ning.

There's nothing I can do about it. But it's different for you.

As long as you break it off with me

Ouyang Qi will just think you chose the wrong crowd.

It's fine.

If I do that, she'll not only think that I abandon my friends for myself

but that I also just go wherever suits me best.

The best thing to do right now is to lay low for a while.

As long as I don't do anything evil, there's still hope.

Hello?

That's me.

Okay, we'll think about it.

Thanks.

They're asking for an interview at the T.V. station.

They say that drones are a hot topic right now

and Wings can use this chance to promote themselves.

Are you going?

Are you going or not?

Tell them no.

They also said they didn't just invite us.

They invited another company: Future Up.

Are you going?

So?

They told me to pass on a message to you.

"President Nan said, 'If President Shi goes, I'll go.'"

You've really fallen in.

Declaring war on me, huh?

Boss, we can't go on the interview program!

If we go on as we are right now we're just asking to be obliterated.

Boss, we understand your feelings towards your ex...

but you shouldn't torture yourself just because you've broken up.

What do you think, Wendy?

Didn't you always say we had to give ourselves media opportunities?

Now we have one, and everyone is afraid.

It's not that we're afraid. I'm worried this is a ditch.

Yeah. Our market value has fallen to its lowest.

Even if we go on the show, we have nothing to promote.

They're right.

Everyone has heard about our fight with Wings.

If we go out now, netizens will tear us apart.

Are you all so sure that I won't be able to turn the tables?

But Boss, these kinds of things don't suit you to begin with.

- And you're facing Shi Yue. - Would you be able to do it?

Would I be rooting for him at a crucial moment like this?

- Are you people trying to upset me? - No, Boss...

- We just-- - We're just worried for you.

Let's go.

Since you've thought it through, then let's go.

I'm sorry, President Shi. An Ning is resting.

She should be awake right about now.

Then please wait. I'll go notify her.

Shi Yue and Hao Jie want to see you.

If Wings has any requests in the future, as long as it follows our principles...

I want you to cooperate with them.

You make the decisions.

Okay.

But if there's anything on Shi Yue...

make sure you tell me whether it's big or small.

I'll handle it myself.

But you've avoided him for so many days.

Yes.

He's trying to tell me

that he and I are just a superior and her employee.

That's not what I want.

That's why I'll no longer be handling the professional stuff.

I'm going to wait for him to come and see me as Shi Yue.

You know what he thinks, so why do you still...

- Coddle him? - No, what I mean is...

Why do you have to use him at all?

He's been with me longer than you have.

My Shi Yue... is incredibly sharp.

- I'll have someone watch him. - No need.

Call them all off.

Giving them freedom is the best way to handle a rebellious child.

Because the more freedom you give them, the guiltier they feel.

I'm sorry, President Shi. Madam An really has no time today.

Two days ago it was because she had a meeting with a chairman.

Yesterday it was because she was napping. What's today's excuse?

President Shi should be the most clear.

Then do me the favor of handing her these files.

I will.

What if she doesn't agree to it?

She will.

She won't pass up an opportunity to step on Nan Qiao.

Do you remember everything I just said? Go on and pass this on to the director.

Did you get what I said about the couch and prop positioning?

Can you go and fix it for me?

- We got a response. - What did he say?

- He agreed. - Great! Good going!

I'm going to prepare the files on Future Up and Wings.

- And some knowledge on drones-- - For what reason?

Are we giving the audience a tech lesson?

Isn't our topic this time the future of drone technology?

Listen, what you need to prepare right now

is to dig deep for information on Wings' CEO Shi Yue

and Future Up's CEO Nan Qiao's relationship.

Drama is the only way our show produces results.

What results?

Make a non-entertaining topic entertaining.

How should I put it?

If we want viewer ratings, we need a story, not a drone.

What if they don't want to talk about their feelings on the show?

What do you know? Whatever, I can't explain.

Just go do what I told you to do. Go!

Did you not hear me just tell you to move that couch closer?

What is this?

Are people crazy?

I'm going to find this person and send them to the police.

Just get in the car.

What do you mean?

What's going on?

It was him? This was a domestic attack?

He did it for his aunt.

- He's a kid. - You're even afraid of them now?

I just hope Nan Qiao told him to do this.

You revealed the past in front of everyone

Now they're going to be attacked on all sides.

What is your goal?

To drive Nan Qiao into a corner.

She's carrying too much.

Future Up, along with too many people's hopes.

She has to hate me. She has to want to get revenge.

All of them give her the strength to attack.

You're afraid Nan Qiao won't believe you lied to her.

It was too real.

I can hardly even convince myself that it was all just an act.

You're sure you can give An Ning what she wants?

What?

She isn't seeing us, isn't handling work, isn't even asking about VIVE things.

Don't try to tell me you don't know why.

Listen to me.

What she wants is Shi Yue coddling her.

Not some Wings CEO.

She wants too much. I can't fulfill her wishes.

Help! Don't hit me, I didn't do anything wrong!

- Stand right there! - Don't hit me!

You run out when I'm not looking to go cause trouble!

I didn't!

You covered someone's car in mud, you don't call that trouble?

They went to your school!

I was serving justice! Some people deserve to be punished!

Serving justice? I'll show you what serving justice is!

Grandpa, save me! Look, she's hitting me!

Be a man and take responsibility for your actions!

Getting spanked builds character.

- That's how I raised your aunt. - You hear that?

Fine.

I'm a man. Hit me if you must!

Anyways, I already punished them.

If you want to punish someone, you do it to their face.

Sneaking around behind people's backs is embarrassing.

Sure.

Hit me!

- Ouch, it hurts! She's hitting me! - Nan Qin!

Enough is enough.

[The character for "war."]

Excuse me, excuse me.

- I'm getting more and more nervous. - Thanks.

I don't know if Boss will be okay. Especially since it's Shi Yue.

Why are you bringing down morale for your own team?

We have actual skills, what do they have?

Yeah, but it's Shi Yue.

What I'm worried about is talk shows always end up being led by the host.

Maybe this could stir up Xiao Qiao's potential.

Thanks.

What are you doing?

You guys have already stabbed Nan Qiao. Are you after Ouyang Qi this time?

Listen up, our Xiao Qi isn't falling for your bullshit.

Forget it Wendy, it's all in the past.
