[The Night is Still Young]

[Episode 8]

All signs indicate that

the person behind the black market leader

is most likely Feng Xuanyi.

Then use her identity to investigate it.

Be extremely careful.

I will support you from the shadows.

Follow me.

You're actually alive?

Where's the Qiankun Pearl?

I nearly lost my life

because of the Qiankun Pearl.

Your Highness, you can not take any more risks for it.

Hand over the Qiankun Pearl to me.

I have my own plans.

The imperial court is also investigating this matter.

Aren't you afraid they might trace it back to you?

What evidence is there to prove that

the Qiankun Pearl, which is being investigated by the court,

is related to me?

I'm afraid the matter of the Qiankun Pearl

is not that simple.

I risked my life to survive

just to remind you

to consider

who could have found me

so quickly.

The one who attacked me

is most likely the person behind you.

He has used the matter of the Qiankun Pearl

to disrupt the order of the Great Ye.

When the court places blame,

you may find it hard to explain.

Are you suggesting that

someone is using me?

Your Highness, you might as well tell me who this person is

so I can investigate

if it's the same person who attacked me.

I'm afraid that walls have ears.

Come over, and I'll write it down for you.

It's you?

Your Highness, the distinguished guest has arrived.

Let him in.

What brings you here?

I've made several,

but none are as beautiful as what the embroiderer made.

But you mustn't dislike it.

I cherish it too much.

How could I dislike it?

To me,

it's one of a kind.

Who else in this world,

apart from me, Ye Mingxuan,

could receive a bracelet

personally woven by Miss Shangguan?

It's not exactly one of a kind.

Look,

I made one for myself too.

A matching pair.

Flying side by side like birds.

Do you hear the bell's sound? Is it nice?

Subtle yet clear, crisp but not noisy.

It's beautiful.

I had the best craftsman in the Great Ye

create it by hand.

This bell's sound

is different from any other bell.

It's unique.

From now on, no matter when,

I'll never mistake you for someone else,

and you'll never mistake me.

You won't mistake me,

and I won't mistake you either.

Could the person who colluded with Feng Xuanyi

actually be Ye Mingxuan?

My lady,

the Fifth Prince has arrived.

Mingxuan?

Why is he here?

I was just about to go find him.

Weiyang.

Weiyang.

Weiyang.

I've let you down.

You...

I've been busy looking for the Qiankun Pearl these past few days.

It wasn't until this morning that I realized

I'd lost the bracelet you gave me.

You came to the King Yan's Mansion specifically

just to tell me this?

This is a matter of great importance for me.

In order to see you,

I specifically sought General Shangguan's

permission to deliver the dowry on their behalf

so you wouldn't feel troubled.

You're thoughtful.

But this bracelet was perfectly fine on your wrist;

how could it suddenly go missing?

I can't figure it out either.

A couple of days ago, I went to the South Street Market in disguise.

It was very chaotic there.

Someone even bumped into me.

Now that I think about it,

that person must have been a pickpocket

who stole my bracelet.

The bracelet was hidden under your sleeve;

how did he even notice it?

If it were about something valuable,

the jade pendant on your waist

is worth far more.

You have a point.

That person wasn't after money;

he must have had another motive.

But no matter what,

it's my fault, Weiyang.

I failed to keep the bracelet safe.

I deserve to die.

This bracelet could have gone missing at any time,

yet it happened to disappear now,

only to end up in the hands of that man in black.

Could it really be such a coincidence?

Weiyang.

Don't worry.

I've already sent people to look for it.

I won't rest

until it's found.

The Fifth Prince always chooses moments when I'm not around to show up.

How convenient indeed.

The Yan family is not receiving guests today.

Fifth Prince, please leave.

Uncle, you've misunderstood.

I'm here at the request of General Shangguan

to deliver the dowry here.

Mingxuan,

since the items have been delivered,

you should go back and rest early.

Wait.

Fifth Prince,

I allow you to choose one piece of

jewelry that Weiyang likes to accompany her for her wedding,

as a gesture to honor your care for her.

That's not difficult.

But since Uncle has gone to great lengths

to marry Weiyang,

you must care for her deeply.

Why not join me in selecting one?

Let's see whose choice

aligns better with Weiyang's heart.

You want to compete with me?

It's not a competition.

Uncle, are you aware that

snow doesn't fall in the Ye City every winter?

Only when the wind blows in the right direction

and the temperature is cold enough

can one witness the beautiful sight of heavy snowfall.

So what of it?

Some people, though of noble rank,

may not necessarily summon snowfall

whenever they wish to see it.

If not today,

then I can wait for tomorrow.

If not this year,

then I can wait for next year.

This golden hairpin is exquisitely crafted,

made of the finest materials,

and is perfectly suited for her.

It could be said to be custom-made for you, Weiyang.

Weiyang, do you like it?

Ornate yet impractical.

Expensive but useless.

So Weiyang is

such a woman in your eyes.

I am not a tool for your rivalry.

I'll choose the wedding jewelry

myself.

Weiyang,

General's family and the General's family are now united as one.

There's no need for outsiders to interfere in any matters.

I'll take my leave.

Give it back to me.

Give it back to me.

Give it back to me.

♫Who inquires amidst the dim lights♫

♫These stars that fill the sky♫

The owner of that bracelet

has already broken his vow.

♫The fate of love and hate, separation and union♫

What's the use of keeping it?

♫Blame the depth of our love♫

♫Meeting you feels like encountering an old friend♫

He just accidentally lost the bracelet.

It's not entirely his fault.

♫As if in a past life, passing by the door♫

♫The past is hard to keep, attachment leaves no trace♫

The most unreliable thing in this world

is a man's words.

Do you think the Ye Mingxuan you see now

♫How can I join you in this life?♫

is really his true self?

I will find out myself

♫If the soul doesn't cross, if the person doesn't return♫

what he truly is.

As for you,

♫Could you lend me the rise and fall of the next life?♫

you've clearly found the Qiankun Pearl,

yet you still refuse to present it to the Emperor.

♫If fate protects us♫

What are your true intentions?

♫In the midst of heavy snow♫

True and false, false and true.

♫Eternal love through the ages♫

I hope you can see things more clearly.

♫If love does not fail♫

Don't try to play tricks on me here.

♫In the depths of blooming flowers♫

A wolf's ambition is like a face behind a mask;

♫Accompany you to the twilight years♫

it can never be hidden forever.

♫If one life and one death are our destiny♫

Fine.

Then I'll personally tear off this mask

to let you see more clearly.

Brother Beichen,

I brought you some ginseng tea.

It's late.

You should rest now.

This is the ginseng tea I brewed myself.

You used to like the taste of this ginseng tea.

I've never changed the recipe.

If you have something to say, just say it.

Brother Beichen,

even if you don't speak, I know that

marrying Shangguan Weiyang

is not truly what you desire.

Then what do you think

is my true desire?

In this world, only I truly understand your thoughts.

Only I can help you achieve your desires.

However,

when you ascend to the throne,

I also wish to enjoy the riches and honor of being the Empress of the Six Palaces.

I wonder if Brother Beichen would agree?

Don't ever mention such treasonous words again.

Otherwise,

I won't consider my mentor's kindness anymore.

Why aren't you continuing your little performance in your room?

Without your present,

there's no point in continuing the performance.

Your so-called performance

is merely you being affectionate with Huan Yan?

Are you angry?

I don't care about your relationship with Huan Yan.

Just don't involve me next time.

Don't be so anxious.

The real show is just beginning.

Do you think I would still trust your words?

Come with me,

and you'll see.

I've got what you wanted.

Well done.

If you want the pearl,

you'll have to give me the antidote first.

You deliberately let her get close to you

to take the Qiankun Pearl?

Otherwise, how could this good show go on?

When you ascend to the throne,

I also wish to enjoy the riches and honor of being the Empress of the Six Palaces.

Who gave you the nerve

to negotiate with me?

You're going too far!

I can't stand it any longer.

If there is no antidote,

your poison will flare up every other day

until you die from blood seeping out of your seven orifices.

This is what happens

when you go against me.

Ye Mingxuan?

is it him?

This voice sounds so familiar.

You don't need to guess.

Just follow and see for yourself.
