[The Night is Still Young]

[Episode 4]

He's not just your royal uncle,

but also a prince personally conferred by the late Emperor.

Do you want to die?

Father,

does being a prince

give him the right to seize love by force?

What's the use of a prince's identity, glory, and wealth?

I can give them all up.

I only want Weiyang.

You're truly useless.

Is there nothing in your heart besides romantic sentiments?

I envy the life of a couple but not a lonely and immortal life.

In this life,

I will only grow old with Weiyang.

So what if I've made a grave mistake?

Even if I were given another chance,

-I would still do the same! -Enough!

You've been blinded by love for the moment.

Your royal uncle won't stoop to your level.

Go back to your residence and reflect on your actions.

Without my decree,

you are not allowed to go anywhere.

Father,

but Weiyang...

How can an imperial decree be changed so casually?

From now on, Weiyang's marriage is not to be mentioned again.

You may leave.

Father.

Leave!

I'll take my leave.

He actually attempted to assassinate a prince for a woman.

Mingxuan

truly has no tact at all.

The Fifth Prince is indeed a bit impulsive.

But I didn't expect

that King Yan would misjudge someone.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

[The Daughter of the Imperial Advisor, Huan Yan]

Huan Yan?

[Past Life]

Huan Yan is the daughter of the Imperial Advisor.

Born with a unique constitution,

she studied extraordinary arts under a reclusive master.

However, her personality

is unpredictable;

she's always been at odds with me.

Shangguan Weiyang.

Ye Mingxuan.

So you're the Queen Yan appointed by the Emperor?

You don't seem all that special to me.

So you're the daughter of the Imperial Advisor?

You're quite ordinary too.

Do you see these brushes and scriptures?

They're all prepared for you.

What do you mean?

Brother Beichen, as a prince,

is of unparalleled prestige.

Since you've hurt him,

you must show true sincerity

by using blood and ink

to copy scriptures and pray for blessings.

What happened between him and me

is none of your business.

Raise your hand.

You...

Stop!

What's going on?

What happened?

How did this happen?

Brother Beichen,

it's just a minor injury.

Please don't get angry

and harm your own body.

That's right.

You were the one who told me to copy scriptures

with blood and ink to pray for blessings.

How did you end up cutting your own hand?

It seems your little tricks no longer work.

As long as it helps Brother Beichen recover,

I'm willing to do anything.

There's no need for that.

I don't want her blood to taint the purity of King Yan's Mansion.

With such a wicked woman in King Yan's Mansion,

it probably hasn't been pure for a long time.

And you still want to use this to harm me?

Then I'll settle both new and old grudges at once.

From now on, don't pull these tricks

in the King Yan's Mansion.

I know I was wrong.

I shouldn't have lost my composure

upon hearing that you were injured.

Master,

I had thought that with the informant tipping us off,

we could seize the Gu worm matured by Ye Beichen,

keeping the Emperor in a coma

and under my control.

But I never expected Ye Beichen to strike back again,

and even allow General Shangguan

to successfully deliver the matured Gu worm to him.

Although the Emperor has now awakened,

he still, like everyone else,

believes you are indifferent to worldly affairs.

You can continue plotting your grand plans in secret.

Ye Beichen's return to the capital this time

has been aggressive.

He's targeted me several times

and even intentionally exposed my wound in front of Weiyang.

Could it be

that he has found something out?

In my opinion,

no matter how clever King Yan is,

he could never guess that you possess such extraordinary skills,

able to transfer the wound General Shangguan

inflicted on your chest to your back.

Moreover,

you have even more unexpected trump cards.

Apply the medicine first.

Yes.

Did Queen Yan invite me here?

Indeed, it was Queen Yan's order.

Since you're childhood sweethearts,

I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

May you two be together in the end.

Stop bringing harm to others.

I knew you cared about me.

You specially hosted a banquet

to welcome me back.

[Heavenly Match]

What a nice name.

You're so thoughtful.

I knew there was another reason behind your marriage to Shangguan Weiyang.

Ye Beichen.

Mind your manners. Get out!

You personally brewed this wine.

Why not have a taste together?

This wine is prepared for you and Huan Yan.

May you two be together in the end.

What does it have to do with me?

Such a trivial trick.

Do you think you can escape from my hand?

Aren't you being too naive?

Ye Beichen,

don't even dream of keeping me trapped.

A bird trying to escape its cage?

Do you know the consequences?

At worst, we'll perish together.

A fight to the bitter end!

I'd like to see what skills you possess.

Your Highness,

Queen Yan said she hasn't officially married you yet,

and insists on moving to the side chamber.

It's a waste of the Weiyang window lattice

you specially customized for her.

♫Reciting a verse, dreaming of a scene of♫

♫Similar pasts♫

♫In the end, it is like passing clouds, all in vain♫

♫Looking up and seeing the moonlight♫

♫Just like in a past life♫

♫This moment's wish is to be together♫

♫In this life, once more♫

♫To experience this rise and fall♫

♫Just to be with you until the end of life♫

♫Can I be spared from the fate♫

♫Of being forgotten by each other?♫

Your Highness,

everything has been settled for Queen Yan.

♫Holding a solitary lamp♫

♫To part ways with that old acquaintance♫

Is there anything else needed for side chamber?

♫This life is lonely, the road stretches endlessly♫

Make sure to prepare everything for her.

♫Parting ways, free as water and clouds♫

Yes.

No matter how meticulously you prepare

♫The south wind fulfills the wish; the dream fades away♫

and how thoughtful you are,

Queen Yan remains unaware of

your true intentions.

♫Under the Three-Life Stone, I felt the sorrow of the pear blossoms♫

She believes everything you do

is for the military power of the Shangguan family.

♫A glance back, and still, deep love remains♫

Why not let her

♫Memories linger, refusing to fade quietly♫

know of your kind intentions?

No need.

Ye Mingxuan has placed spies in the mansion;

♫Time flies, and the love, hate, joy, sorrow♫

♫Partings and reunions come alive on the page♫

we must not let them see through my intentions,

♫A wish from the past life, fulfilled in this life♫

or else it will put Weiyang in danger.

♫The world is eternal, and longing lasts long♫

You exposed the true nature of the Fifth Prince

♫Turn that unwillingness into meaning♫

for Queen Yan,

but she has always misunderstood and thought that

♫Turn regret into sorrow♫

you were opposing her.

♫Time slowly tells the stories of the past♫

It's better that she misunderstands.

Let her continue to misunderstand.

Announce King Feng Xuanyi of Xuannan to see the Emperor.

[Taiji Palace]

[King Xuannan, Feng Xuanyi]

I, Feng Xuanyi, pay my respects to Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

what's contained in this box

is the unique "Immortal Nectar" from Yunnan.

It is renowned for its life-prolonging properties

and effectiveness in curing hundreds of poisons,

rivaling the Northern Ginseng King.

I've heard Immortal Nectar is obtained from bees.

How does it differ from honey then?

Honey is made from nectar,

while Immortal Nectar is formed

when countless bees offer their own flesh and blood

to serve the queen bee.

It can be said to be the essence of heaven, earth, sun, and moon,

unique to Yunnan.

I've heard that within a bee colony,

there is only one queen bee.

Why not present the bee queen as tribute,

so that the Immortal Nectar can be harvested endlessly

to supply His Majesty with daily use?

You only know one thing

and not the other.

The bee colony can only gather nectar

and offer it to the queen in places that are suitable.

Yunnan is the ideal place

for the bee colony to build its nest and establish a queen.

The Feng family, having only been in Yunnan for a few years,

dares to scheme?

If the Feng family no longer wishes to continue,

we Yan family

will escort a new King Xuannan to take over at any time.

The Feng family's loyalty to Your Majesty is evident for all to see.

We swear to guard Yunnan for Your Majesty with our lives.

I accept your Immortal Nectar.

Please be seated.

Long live Your Majesty!

Our Great Ye enjoys peace and prosperity,

and the hearts of the people are united.

This is cause for celebration.

Today, I have specially arranged a competition of ball games

for the enjoyment of both ruler and subjects.

The generals and commanders leading the troops need not be mentioned;

even the princes will take part,

so that the people of Great Ye may witness

the harmony of the court.

Your Majesty is wise.

Your Majesty,

I wish to represent Shangguan's army

to compete with the princes.

Ye Beichen

slandered you in front of the Emperor,

and now he has even prevented you from participating,

causing you to miss the chance to showcase your skills before the Emperor.

It's alright.

I don't care about that either.

Weiyang,

you know my intentions;

I only want to grow old with you and remain devoted forever.

By the way,

I also intend to join the competition today

to put Ye Beichen in his place.

Good.

Our Great Ye governs

with equal emphasis on both civil and military affairs.

Today, both men and women may participate.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Master, everything is ready.

Today, you are to take the field as a player;

be sure to do everything possible to outshine King Yan.

Yes, sir.

Weiyang will be on the field today.

Remember,

do not harm her.

Yes.

This competition is held in teams of five,

with groups determined by drawing lots.

Each team has one incense stick's time limit.

The team with the most points wins,

and the player with the highest number of goals scored

is deemed the best on the field today.

The Emperor will bestow a reward.

Shangguan Weiyang has scored a point.

♫The wind stirs the war flames, and the rain-soaked fur returns with the geese♫

♫In the capital, the pace of carriages and horses is slow♫

It can also be a favor to King Xuannan.

♫Several lifetimes of devotion, yet this bond remains unresolved♫

♫Entangled in grudges, love hangs by a thread♫

♫Unable to part with the eyes♫

♫I point to the moon, questioning beneath it, before the city tower♫

Good, good.

Well done.

♫A sword in the heart, a farewell waves over the land♫

-Good! -Good!

♫This life has slipped away, the next life will be complete♫

♫A heart of purest jade♫

♫In the dim night, searching for her, past a thousand sails♫

♫Watching the snow fall, year after year♫

[Round 1][Round 2][Round 3][Round 4]

♫The song is not over, making a promise to grow old together♫

♫The night is still young; I will not betray the people♫

♫Nor will I betray her♫

Miss Shangguan,

why did you help King Yan?

♫This empty city is so regrettable without you♫

Wonderful!

♫Even if the skies fall♫

You and I indeed made a perfect pair on the field,

dominating the battlefield!

♫Covering my eyes♫

♫In the next life, no more separations♫

What a great shot!

Good!

Good!

Time's up.

Today's competition on the field

showcased everyone's skills and talents,

demonstrating the bravery and valor of our Great Ye.

Though no victor was decided,

in terms of strategy and courage,

Weiyang stood out in every way.

I hereby reward you with a Dragon Emblem token.

With this token, you may enter and leave the palace freely,

as if carrying my imperial decree.

No one shall hinder you.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Rise.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Where's Mingxuan?

Your Highness, as long as you give the order,

I will certainly follow your lead.

So, they have been colluding all along.

Ye Beichen's repeated intimidation of Feng Xuanyi

before the Emperor earlier

was clearly a deliberate act,

a planned performance to work together.

-Your Highness. -Your Highness.
