vampires and witches
have been mortal enemies,

generation after generation,
one millennium to the next.

Vampire of the highest order,

descended from a long line
of vampires

who have evolved
into the most magnificent beings

ever to inhabit the world
of the living

and... of the undead.

When my wife died,

our castle in Transylvania
became dreary and sad,

so it was that I decided

to move my son and myself
to sunny Italy,

the beautiful mountain town
of Roscigno.

The trouble all started
when the town widow witch Aradia

created the magic potion
for the benefit

of her young daughter,
Valentina.

By accident, Aradia mixed up

the wrong ingredients
in her recipe

with disastrous results.

In her phantasm,
searching for her one true love,

she encountered my son, Todor.

Led by the power of the potion,
she instantly fell in love.

And when her dream was over,

she encountered Todor
in the real world

and then their courtship began.

When Aradia and I discovered
this impossible romance,

we demanded they stop
this foolish infatuation,

one vampire and one witch,
equals one big mess.

But as young people in love
often do, they ignored us.

They eloped to France,
got married, had two children,

my only grandchildren;

the world's
first vampire-witch hybrids.
