Lieutenant Blair made two mistakes.
She fell in love with a cad,

and she broke the Navy's
antediluvian rules

romantic involvements.

She knew the Navy applies
those rules capriciously,

different spanks
for different ranks.

A slap on the wrist
for adulterous admirals,

imprisonment for
philandering lieutenants.

She and Mr. Stroud tried
to cover up their affair.

And when Lieutenant Blair
tried to end the deception,

Mr. Stroud showed
his true colors.
