It's too much. I won't be able to block the next one!

You will not!

Atla!

Atla!

Atla!

Master Naofumi!

Atla…

You do not know how to swim, Sir Ren?

It's not my forte.

I'm sorry. Did it hurt?

No, it's okay.

Ow!

Put up with it!

Master Naofumi.

How's Filo?

It looks like she's alive, but her level keeps dropping.

That means Gaelion-- no, the Demon Dragon, is too?

That's what it looks like.

At this rate, she'll be sucked dry by tomorrow morning.

So far, Atla's defense-scaled attack was the most effective approach.

Does it still hurt?

I feel much better already.

That's good.

I had a question for you, Wyndia.

What?

Is that dragon really your father?

Yeah. He's my dad.

Will you… protect this girl?

Then please do. Her name is Wyndia.

They're really good, Dad.

Why is this one backwards--

Dad?!

What's wrong? Calm down!

Dad! Dad!

That's it! His backwards scale…

The dragon's backwards scale…

Wyndia?

I need to tell the Shield Hero!

This should be far enough from the village.

If we lure the Demon Dragon here, we can attack it from above.

And the power of the Dragon Veins is strong here,

so we can receive the land's blessing.

It's a good location for the fight, but will it even come out here?

I'll use the Wrath Shield.

We have to save Filo no matter what.

Then we'd better start preparing.

I'll place magic water and recovery potions around the forest.

We must also tend to our weapons and equipment.

What's the plan?

That's the question.

Shield Hero!

Everyone, listen! I've figured out the Demon Dragon's weakness!

A backwards scale?

Right. It has one scale on its chest that grew backwards.

That's the dragon's weakness, I think.

But what if it escapes to the air?

I'll be bait and draw it to the ground.

Can you stop the dragon from moving after that?

Leave it to me. I have the perfect cooperative spell.

Wyndia and Melty are going to help me cast it.

Huh?

I'm counting on you.

Very well. I'll do it.

I'll do my best too.

Raphtalia and Eclair will whittle down the Demon Dragon's stamina

with defense-scaled attacks

while Ren and Sadeena cooperate to pierce its backwards scale.

We have to bet everything on this plan.

Are you sure about this?

About what?

The dragon we're about to fight is your father, right?

Yeah.

But I'm okay.

I came back here to say goodbye to my dad.

You're strong, Wyndia.

Your dad…

Adorable! You're so adorable!

You're drinking at a time like this?!

I'm drinking because it's a time like this!

Don't worry. Big Sis will protect you…

because you're just so adorable!

You reek of alcohol!

Can you fight when you're drunk?!

Of course!

In fact, Big Sis is stronger when she's drunk!

…and become the power to overcome the obstacle before me!

Filo…

Hide with Fohl.

Sir Naofumi, I will join you.

-No. -But--

We'll only use your ability once we've run out of alternatives.

You're our last resort.

I want to keep you as our trump card.

Trump card!

Yes! I will be useful to you!

Brother! I'm a trump card, Brother!

But we don't know how useful Atla's ability will be.

We can't rely on an all-or-nothing option.

We have until the sun rises.

Let's do this, Raph.

Come, Wrath Shield!

Stay back!

I'm fine.

You're here.

Dragon Vein, bring our wish to fruition.

By the power we bear, we wish, heed the truth now

and become the power to overcome the obstacle before me!

Become a sacrifice to me, Shield Hero!

Then I shall exact the revenge you wish upon the humans that oppressed you!

Don't make me laugh.

Cooperative spell!

The Great Deep!

Dragonfury Dual Blades!

And another! Orca Strike!

It's too strong. The two of us can't maintain the spell…

We can whine after we're done!

Let's do it again!

Yeah!

Eclair, now!

Multistrike Demolition!

When it raises its defense, hit it with damage-scaled attacks.

When it lowers its defense, rely on brute force with high damage.

We've got this!

Shooting Star Shield!

Raphtalia!

Life Force Blade! Guard Breaker!

Master Naofumi…

Shield Hero, know your foolishness with your own body!

Cursed land, the flow of the cursed Dragon Veins…

Not yet.

More… More…

If… and just if…

this plan fails…

If it comes down to Sir Naofumi's life,

we have a duty to uphold as his subordinates,

even at the cost of our own lives.

Atla…

It won't break…

Brother!

Atla!

Brother, do it!

Damn you!

This is the final strike.

Even if it costs my life,

I will eliminate all barriers in Sir Naofumi's way.

Because I'm…

Sir Naofumi's shield!

Well done.

Yes.

They're there?

-Filo! -Filo!

Gaelion!

Filo!

Filo! Open your eyes! Please!

Melly? Big Sis?

Filo!

I'm so glad you're safe!

Gaelion!

Go, Dad!

Good night, Dad.

I'm proud to be your daughter, Dad.

With the power of prayers to save the world,

with the wishes which as a pure stream wash away the cursed land,

hatred, and malice…

Dragon Vein, we pray now for a miracle!

Erasing Aqua Slash!

You will not escape!

Erst Shield! Second Shield!

Dritte Shield!

Instant Blade! Crossing Mists!

Is it… over now?

Yeah.

Master Naofumi!

Rage is always in your heart.

Truly,

we are so glad that you came to us, Shield Hero.

The Sword Hero caused the village so much damage.

Don't blame Ren.

It's your own fault for using Ren to steal the dragon's treasure.

You brought it on yourselves.

I'm sorry.

I can never atone for what I've done.

I knew.

I knew that the villagers had used you.

But… I still couldn't forgive you.

Thank you.

You saved my life twice.

Doesn't it bring great joy to watch your daughter grow up, Shield Hero?

That voice… You couldn't be…

It seems that this body became a vessel for me. I escaped annihilation.

You sure you don't want to talk to her?

Wyndia wishes to move past my death.

Keep this a secret for her sake.

Yeah.

Give the experience you took from Filo back!

Give it! Give it! Give it!

The curse on Filo was broken?

Is it because she was absorbed by the Demon Dragon?

They say all's well that ends well, I guess.

Me too!

Come back!

Only Filo gets to give Master rides!

Gaelion…

Grow up to be a great dragon like my dad, okay?
