There's a good chance that the Dragon Emperor has taken control of Gaelion.

What do you mean?

Dragons have something called a "core" which holds their consciousness.

They can use those cores to increase their strength or pass on their memories.

So you mean the Zombie Dragon's consciousness was

in the Dragon Emperor core,

and that's making Gaelion go berserk?

Yes.

So it really was true…

Ake! Go find Rishia and the old lady and bring them back here.

Yes, sir!

Rat, I want you to defend the village while I'm gone.

I'll call S'yne in case of emergency.

Until then, take care of the monsters.

Yes, leave them to me.

Tracking Gaelion will be me, Raphtalia, Ren, Sadeena--

Sir Iwatani!

Come with me at once. Filo suddenly started feeling pain.

Filo?

A healer is treating her now, but it's beyond their control.

Master Naofumi.

Raphtalia and I will go to Filo.

The rest of you prepare to head out.

All right.

I will go with you. I may be of use.

I'm going too.

Me too!

I'm worried about Filo!

Let's go.

Naofumi!

Where's Filo?

This way. Hurry!

-Filo! -Filo!

Master…

It's okay. You'll be better soon.

Master Naofumi, this is…

It's worse than the Curse Series' curse…

Her level went down? What's going on?

Does it have something to do with Gaelion going berserk?

I can feel an evil energy flowing from Filo.

That can't mean… Filo's experience is flowing to Gaelion?

Filo!

Master Naofumi, what should we do?

Atla?

I will try to stem the flow of energy.

Huh?

Filo feels a little better now.

Filo!

I'm so glad…

I think that should buy us some time.

Thanks.

At this rate, she won't last two days.

She'll hit level one--

No, level one would be the best-case scenario.

The worst case is she loses her life.

You take care of Filo.

I'm going to break the curse on her.

Let's go, Raphtalia.

No!

Don't leave Filo here!

You need to rest.

Filo needs to pull Master's cart!

No. You're not in any condition--

If Filo's going, then I'm going.

You're a princess.

Before being a princess, I'm Filo's friend!

If anything strange happens, I'm sending you back to town with the portal.

Okay! Filo's fine!

Atla, can you suppress the curse?

Yes, I will try.

If Atla's going, then I'm going!

I'm definitely going with you!

Fine, fine. Get ready, all of you.

After that, Filo ran desperately to the village to the east.

You did a good job.

Master… Filo'll fight… too…

-It's the Savior! -The Shield Hero!

Help Filo rest.

Yes.

She's completely worn out.

Melty, if you don't mind.

You got it.

Fast Aqua Heal.

I'll… find something she can eat!

Ah, Shield Hero! Another dragon has come to the village.

Where did it go?

It likely went to the dragon's nest.

Dragon's nest?

There is an immense cave beyond the mountains

where an evil dragon once nested.

We would not last if another disease were to ravage us.

Please save our village!

We don't have a moment to spare. Let's set out right away.

Yeah.

To stop Gaelion's rampage, we need to weaken him

and force him to cough out the Dragon Emperor core.

What if the core fully consumes him?

Then we'll need to make a choice.

I see.

Dark Fire Palette!

You can cast magic?

I can pull my own weight when I want to.

Oh, you didn't know?

Wyndia uses the Way of the Dragon Vein.

What kind of magic is that?

She borrows power from the Dragon Veins

running through the land to cast her spells.

If she develops it, she'll be able to cast cooperative spells and counter-magic.

Cooperative spells too?

Wyndia, that's amazing!

My dad taught me how to do it.

Are you okay?

How do you feel?

I got a lot of fish just for you!

Thank you…

Filo's okay now--

Filo!

Filo, keep yourself together!

Filo!

Filo!

So it turned into a zombie dragon…

I can't possibly atone for all the lives that were lost.

A Hero needs to grow stronger

and save the world, even if it means sacrificing.

Steel your resolve.

It's around here?

This is…

the dragon's nest.

Raphtalia, can you give us some light?

Yes.

Drifa Light.

How deep does it go?

Is Gaelion in this cave?

Ren and Wyndia!

Ren! Wyndia!

We're fine.

Are you okay?

Yeah.

Good.

Erst Shield!

Do you want to wait outside?

No, I'm coming too!

All right.

What is this space?

The light doesn't reach the walls.

Wait one second.

Wyndia, what are you doing?

Dragon Vein, give me light.

It's beautiful.

Have you been here before?

Yeah. A long time ago.

Master Naofumi!

Gaelion!

Stop!

Filo!

What happened?!

Filo suddenly lost her mind!

We kept calling to her, but it's like she doesn't hear us!

What's she trying to do?

No!

No…

Filo!

I'm getting a response. Filo's still alive.

We'll get her back if we remove the core.

Don't let him digest her!

Yes!

Shooting Star Sword!

Zweit Thunderbolt!

It's huge…

No, you won't! Stardust Blade!

Shooting Star Sword!

It's tough!

Lightning Strike Harpoon!

Very tough. Big Sis' finisher had no effect.

Then we'll need a buff!

All Zweit Aura!

Light Stardust Blade!

It's working!

Over here!

Give Filo back!

Drifa Aqua Slash!

They did it!

It's working! Keep the barrage going!

Wait!

Everyone, stop!

Please stop!

Please stop, Dad!

Dad, please, stop fighting.

What do you mean?

My dad was the dragon that called this his turf.

No! Let go of me!

Dad!

Dad!

What? Then I…

I see. So it became a zombie dragon because it wanted to protect…

Ever since they killed you, I've hated them for it.

I could never forgive the Four Cardinal Heroes for destroying our happiness.

But the Shield Hero was kind to me!

He's not like the people in this kingdom who treat demi-humans poorly.

He's not like the villagers who stole your treasure and hung it up for show!

Please, give the dragon his body back.

He has the same name as you.

He's still alive.

You aren't supposed to be here anymore, Dad.

Ren!

Are you hurt?

No.

Are you all right?

I'm fine, but…

Drifa Heal!

Ren, can you fight?

Yeah, I can.

Who are you? You're not my dad.

Wyndia, stand back.

I am the Demon Dragon!

The ruler of all monsters!

Demon Dragon?

I see. I had both the Demon Dragon and the Zombie Dragon cores processed,

so the Demon Dragon and Wyndia's father got mixed together!

My ambitions are to replace the puny humans and rule the world

and to slaughter the Hunting Hero

and her party who crushed my ambitions!

Sir Naofumi.

An incredible amount of energy is flowing from the Shield into the Demon Dragon.

Don't worry. All of you, stand back.

But…

Yes.

Where did you put Filo?! Give her back right now!

You mean the monster which you call a filolial in this world?

Filo!

Filo!

She will be overjoyed to be a part of me.

Zweit Aura! Raphtalia!

Yes!

Erst Shield!

Light Stardust Blade!

Drifa Aqua Slash!

No reaction! He doesn't even feel it.

My spells are being nullified.

I have an idea.

I think the Demon Dragon is using my Shield as a medium for its defense.

That means that if I purposely fail to power up the Wrath Shield,

I can weaken him as well.

But if you do that, won't you grow weaker too?

We don't have time to hesitate. Before Filo runs out of--

Did you think I would allow that?

UNLOCKED - WRATH SHIELD IV +8 SR SUCCESSFULLY UNLOCKED
