Original subtitles

The rescue operation will be completed momentarily.

You have all done very well.

Meanwhile, the Wave shows no sign of ending.

Will it not end until those people are defeated?

A battle so furious as this, we can only leave to Sir Iwatani.

She doesn't care about anything but the Wrath Shield?

Master Naofumi!

The Soul Eater Shield!

It drains the enemy's SP.

But why?

Why would Glass suddenly step back?

I pray, open our future with your foundations!

-Gemspark! -Shooting Star Shield!

Airburst!

This is magic?

Yes. She uses those gems.

The skill she used to blow the others away?

Power of gems which fill this world,

realize that which I seek.

Crap! They can use a combo skill too?

My friends, bring forth an ice storm to destroy what I will.

Shield Prison!

Gemspark! Blizzard!

Combo form!

Inverted Four Winters!

Master Naofumi!

Naofumi, are you okay?

Yes, somehow.

Even this combo skill is not enough to defeat him?

It appears I must re-evaluate my opinion of him.

Leveling up on Cal Mira Island was a good idea.

Yes!

But that's not all.

Glass's reaction to the Soul Eater Shield...

What if...

Can you guys leave fighting Glass to me?

What? Have you lost your mind?

You three handle L'Arc and Therese instead.

Master Naofumi, don't tell me...

This is so I don't have to use that shield.

I understand.

If that's what it takes, then leave it to us!

Yes! I'll do my best!

Let's go!

You will not escape!

You're fighting us!

That's fine by me.

One-on-one?

I was hoping for this as well.

However...

You've left them to fight L'Arc and Therese. They are strong.

You must trust your friends.

L'Arc said that he was a Hero of another world.

Glass, are you one too?

Yes. I am a Vassal Hero bound to save my beloved world from the Waves.

The Fan Hero.

A Vassal Hero?

We fight!

My friends, create a wall of flame to impede.

Gemspark! Flamewall!

Zweit Aqua Slash!

No you don't!

Her?

You're good.

Everything I'd expect from Naofumi's friends.

Master Naofumi...

She's fast!

But she doesn't have as much bite as earlier.

Maybe I can...

Ring Dance Break: Shell Splitter!

Dog Bite!

Change Shield!

Soul Eater Shield!

Just like I thought!

Glass is weak against Soul Eat!

Glass Girly!

Naofumi...

Against a normal human, it just drains their SP.

But for you, it looks like it drains your life.

It was a good fight.

If you withdraw, the Wave will end.

So why don't we end it here?

End it here?

No. This is a duel between you and me.

It will not end until one of us dies.

It cannot end!

Hey!

Stop it!

If you keep doing this, you'll die!

So long as I live, I will keep coming back to kill you!

For the sake of my beloved world!

So you must defeat me, even if it means killing me!

Otherwise, your world will fall to ruin!

But how can that...

Master Naofumi...

Naofumi, are you any different from me?

Do you not wish to protect your world?

If you do, then you must kill me now!

I...

I want to protect it.

This world...

They summoned me here against my will, framed me, and made me suffer...

Do I want to protect it as strongly as she wants to protect hers?

Why have I been fighting the Waves?

What is this?

They are waiting.

Our people are fighting a Wave as they wait for us to return.

This is Glass's world?

That is why we cannot lose!

This is the end!

Our final battle, Naofumi!

Do I want to protect this world, even if it means crushing her dreams?

Glass Girly!

A potion?

For me, it just recovers my ability to use skills.

But for you, Girly...

Crap!

Master Naofumi!

Raphtalia!

Idiot! Why did you come?

Because I'm the Shield Hero's--

Master Naofumi's sword!

No one in this world will experience what Rifana or I experienced!

That's why!

Raphtalia?

That's why we can't lose either!

No, you don't!

Air Strike Shield!

Master Naofumi!

Dark Curse Burning!

Naofumi! Raphtalia!

Glass Girly!

Something...

If only there was something we could do...

Your Majesty...

That is it!

ACTIVATING SOUL EATER SHIELD: SOUL EAT

She survived it?

What's this?

I will end it now.

Girly! Any more is too much!

Glass! Please, stop!

Ring Dance Void!

Master Naofumi, no! Not that shield!

I'm not from this world anyway.

Once the Waves are over, I'm going back to my world.

But Raphtalia, Filo, Melty...

You three live in this world.

That's enough reason for me to use this shield--

enough reason for me to beat Glass!

Master Naofumi...

My judgment upon this foolish sinner is to scream as a sacrifice to God!

No...

-Please, don't! -By the jaws of a dragon born

from my flesh and blood,

be sacrificed in suffering and agony!

No!

-Blood Sacrifice-- -Sir Iwatani!

By the power I bear, I command you,

heed my law, and release a burst of wind!

Fast Wind Blow!

Please break!

Those are--

Shooting Star Shield!

She broke the barrel bombs in midair?

What is this?

That... it couldn't be!

They said they put liquor fruits in them.

You mean what they make alcohol from?

It seems that I can tolerate way more than this.

What now?

Do you still want to fight?

Yes. We will end this.

L'Arc?

Therese?

That's all for this fight. We're out of time.

So you guys win this time.

May we meet again when the time comes.

What are you doing?

If we do not defeat Naofumi now--

You're sick enough to puke. That's enough.

See you, Naofumi.

It just doesn't have that ring to it.

Guess you're still Kiddo to me.

L'Arc!

Sir Motoyasu!

What? The Wave...

It looks like it's over.

Naofumi takes all the credit again?

No, this victor is for the Shield Hero and all of us.

This is our victory!

I'm never drinking again.

Oh, Master Naofumi, they're selling accessories. Let's have a look.

After the Wave ended, we had sufficiently raised our levels,

so we decided to leave Cal Mira Island before the activation ended,

and go back to Melromarc.

However...

Do you see those black clouds on the horizon?

We can't leave while they're there.

You know a lot about the sea, Raphtalia.

You got another one, Raphtalia!

I was raised in a fishing village.

Oh, that's right.

There was a storm on the route back,

so we enjoyed some tourism for a few days.

And yet, I couldn't get it out of my head.

L'Arc said they were Heroes from another world.

And Glass too.

They're fighting the Waves in their world.

And to defend their world from the Waves,

they need to defeat another world's Heroes, in other words, us.

What should we do once we get back?

Prepare for the next Wave, of course.

Yes.

But if we fight them again in the next Wave...

Will I be able to beat them?

I don't remember which Wave it will be,

but the world will demand sacrifice from all life.

The Heroes must choose whether to fight in that battle or not.

Choose.

Sacrifice one world or the other?

Is that what you meant, Fitoria?

Master Naofumi, is something wrong?

No, I was thinking we might need someone new for the next Wave.

Yes, you're right. Melty will be busy with official duties.

We'd best get as many people and weapons as we can secure.

We don't know if we can repel Glass again next time.

If us Four Cardinal Heroes get killed, you guys will have to defend everyone.

-Listen... -Master!

Jumped off the rocks?

I saved her!

Weren't you part of Itsuki's party?

Her name is Rishia.

She was thrown out of the Bow Hero's party and lost all hope for her future.

She was thrown out?

It seems she was accused of a crime.

I didn't do it!

They said that I broke an accessory that Sir Itsuki was very fond of.

How could they?

That's one way to get rid of an eyesore...

Most likely, she was the only one in the party who did anything during the Wave.

The rest of the party got envious.

We're talking about Itsuki.

He would believe anything his party said and throw her out.

If Sir Itsuki doesn't need me, I'm better off dead!

Your name was Rishia?

You're not going to prove the accusations false?

I really am weak and useless, after all.

You don't care to show Itsuki and his party that they were wrong?

You saved me in the Wave.

I saved the Shield Hero?

You saved all of us.

You have courage. You can grow stronger.

Really? I can grow stronger?

Yes, so come with us.

We'll help you until you can prove that you didn't do it.

We'll grow stronger together.

I'll teach you how to swim!

Thank you so much!

You're helping another Hero's party level?

You're too nice for your own good, Naofumi.

If their party's full of useless idiots, we'll all pay the price later.

Is it dinner time yet?

All right, let's get something to eat.

-Yes. -Okay!

The storm cleared, and we could sail back to Melromarc.

Shield Hero, we thank you again for your feats during the Wave.

I couldn't do anything by myself.

It's thanks to everyone here, including you too,

Your Majesty.

I am honored.

But we don't know if we'll be as fortunate next time.

The Three Stooge Heroes are completely useless.

It is as you say.

We'll need to talk with them again.

Yes, we should hold a meeting as soon as possible.

On that topic, Sir Iwatani,

have you decided what your reward should be?

What should we give to you for defeating the Pope?

Oh, that...

There is the reward for Cal Mira Island as well.

At this rate, we will be unable to repay you for all your good deeds.

In that case, I've thought of something.

Your wish is my command, Shield Hero.

Oh, you're back, kid?

Whose daughter did you pick up this time?

No one cares. Just get her and us whatever equipment you've got.

It's thanks for what you did last time. I'll buy whatever you've got.

That's how it's got to be!

You're going to be staying in town for a while?

No, we're leaving right away. There's somewhere we need to go.

Oh, that's right.

Mister, do you know something about it?

What? No, not really? Not at all?

Right, kid?

Yes.

Oh, please, both of you! Tell me, already!

Girl, you're a lucky girl, you know?

If you ever need anything, you know who to call!

Master Naofumi...

Yes?

Why won't you tell us where we're going?

Oh, sorry.

The Queen gave us a reward there.

Oh, what you were talking about on the ship?

So...

Master Naofumi, will you be with us forever--

What? I can smell the sea.

I should've known you would figure it out this soon.

You don't mean...

Yes. We'll be there soon.

Raphtalia!

Keel!

It's good to see you on your feet again!

He's on his feet too much. He's working harder than anyone else here.

Lord Van? What are you doing here?

Oh? You haven't heard?

What?

Naofumi is just so mean.

Oh! Melly!

Master Naofumi, what's going on?

Well, you'll see soon enough.

On behalf of Her Majesty, the Queen of the Kingdom of Melromarc,

I, the Second Princess to the Throne, Melty Melromarc,

bestow lordship over the Seyaette Domain as an autonomous Demi-Human domain

upon the Shield Hero, Sir Naofumi Iwatani, as written here.

What?

Well, basically, that's the reward from the Queen.

I'm the lord of this domain.

You are, Master Naofumi?

Considering the future, we'll need a base of operations.

You could have just stayed near the castle, Naofumi.

If I stayed near the castle, I would run into Trash and Bitch all over the place.

Please...

Melly, let's play!

-Okay. -Raphtalia, come here.

There's something else I want to show you.

Boats?

If they start fishing again, it'll help rebuild the village.

And you're good at fishing, Raphtalia.

What?

Teach the new residents how to fish.

Here it is.

Oh, the Shield Hero!

Old lady! You haven't kicked the bucket yet!

Leave training the raw recruits to me!

Yes, we're counting on you.

I've brought a new girl with potential already.

I'm looking forward to it!

Oh! We've stocked a good number of potions!

Tell us if you ever need anything else!

Everyone, why are you in this village?

The moment they heard I was made lord here,

they insisted that they would help out.

At this rate, we can start really rebuilding soon.

Why...

I was thinking about settling here for a while.

Your village was destroyed in a Wave.

So we'll rebuild it into a symbol of resistance against the Waves.

We'll get even more troops beyond Rishia.

We'll train them here and create a force as strong as the Heroes.

Once we do that, even if--

Raphtalia?

Master Naofumi, don't say any more.

All this...

It's like you're preparing in case you die at any time!

Even if Glass and L'Arc and Therese come again,

we will defeat them and repel the Waves!

So you will not die, Master Naofumi!

I will not let you die!

Raphtalia...

But once the Waves are over, you'll go back to your world...

I'll never see you again...

I don't want that!

That's--

No! I don't want it!

Just the thought of not being with you, Master Naofumi, makes me...

It makes me...

Don't go, Master Naofumi!

Stay here forever!

Even after the Waves stop coming!

Stay here forever with us!

You've been thinking about that all this time.

I'm sorry.

No, it isn't something you should apologize for...

It's true that I was lost back then.

But I'm not anymore.

That's why we're here.

What?

This is where we set out.

Our battle against the Waves, and our search for new friends.

It all begins now.

I found my reason to fight the Waves because I met you, Raphtalia.

I decided to fight for my friends because I met Filo and Melty.

I decided to defend this world as the Shield Hero because I met so many others.

That's why this is where we set out,

and this is where we come home.

Master Naofumi...

Will you continue fighting as my sword, Raphtalia?

Yes!

Master Naofumi!

No fair, Raphtalia!

Me too, Master!

And you too, Melly!

I'm fine!

Up she goes!

There!

Rifana, do you see that?

Our flag is flying over our village again.

That's a very beautiful shield on that flag.

THE RECORDS OF THE FOUR CARDINAL WEAPONS

Master Naofumi.

Yes.

The story of the Shield Hero starts again now.

I see. So Naofumi has a domain now.

It seems that we're the only ones who can journey out and fix the world.

I'm going to get stronger.

Naofumi, I'm going to get far stronger than you!

The Shield Demon holding a domain? Absolutely inexcusable!

Don't you think so, Sir Motoyasu?

Well, I think it's fine.

Let's go hang out with him sometime.

I want to see Filo too.

Whatever.

It's important to have a big heart and tolerance.

Tolerance?

What does that mean again?

The Shield Hero is quite an unpredictable character!

He won't be coming to see me for a while.

But I also see great things in him.

I believe that he will be a wonderful source

of great fortune for me in the future.
