[Adapted from Xu Chen's comic: Rakshasa Street]

[Episode 20]

The Luhua Ancient Tower

will soon appear.

No matter what,

we must convince Fengzha to guide us.

But he's just been through

an emotional turmoil.

Should we ask him

to guide us now?

But when the Tower will appear

is beyond our control.

So whether it's appropriate or not,

we have to go for it.

Besides, it's just a matter

of leading the way.

It should be alright.

The chaos on Lingfeng Street

was our doing.

Will he agree to help?

At least we helped him

subdue Feilian,

gave him his freedom,

and revealed the truth

about his father,

even if that truth

is hard to bear.

All right.

Let's stop hesitating

and come up

with a tactful solution.

Come in.

Ruofu.

Xia Ling,

I noticed you and Mr. Beiluo

weren't in your rooms.

So I figured you might be here.

Come grab a bite.

They look tasty.

How are you feeling?

I bet you've been busy recently.

I'm okay.

Elder Mei has been doing all the work,

and I haven't been able to help much.

You haven't fully recovered yet.

Make sure to get plenty of rest.

Should I have Li Xuanxuan

check on you?

That won't be necessary. As a trained fighter,

I'm not that delicate.

That's good.

Well,

that's good to hear.

How's Fengzha doing?

How come he didn't

come along with you?

Tactful.

Fengzha is still very down.

He's been locking himself in his room

and is unwilling to come out.

Since it's his birthday today,

I'll make

some of his favorite snacks later

and see if I can get him to open the door.

Today is his birthday?

Fengzha.

Fengzha.

We're coming in.

One, two, three.

♪We wish you longevity and blessings from the heavens♪

♪May you have a very happy birthday♪

♪May you celebrate this day♪

♪Happy birthday to you♪

♪Happy birthday to you♪

Celebrate this day

and this moment every year.

I guess I should thank you.

Fengzha,

we didn't mean it that way.

We just wanted to celebrate

your birthday.

We also have some other things planned.

Do you want to check them out?

Fengzha!

So? Has he agreed?

Look at us.

Does this look like he's agreed?

I've already told you.

Singing is okay,

but that dance shouldn't be included.

Maybe

I should cook something tasty for him.

This should help improve our relationship

and make him agree

to lead the way for us.

I have an idea.

What idea?

Think about it.

What does Fengzha want the most

after being confined for so long?

Watch me.

I was planning to take Fengzha to the Human Realm

and celebrate his birthday there.

Oh, well,

all our toil, it seems, was in vain.

Never mind.

Fengzha hasn't even been out of Lingfeng Street.

If he goes to the Human Realm,

with all the overwhelming sights,

he won't be able to cope.

Yeah,

I guess we'll just have to go by ourselves.

Here in Lingfeng Street,

whenever I think

about the movie theaters, food streets,

and amusement parks in the Human Realm,

I can't control my urge to go back.

No, this is it.

I can't wait anymore.

I'm too excited.

I have to go right now.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Where exactly is this Human Realm

you're talking about?

Come.

I'll take you there.

Fengzha.

This thing

is called a car.

It's like the horses you have.

This will take us outside the barrier and go down the mountain.

Getting in this is like mounting a horse.

In a moment, when I press the pedal,

it'll start moving

and take us to our destination.

Got it?

Safety belt.

This belt is pretty safe.

This is what we call fastening a safety belt.

Cao Yanbing,

enough dawdling.

Just get the car moving already.

All right,

let's get going.

Fengzha,

this place is an amusement park.

Whatever you want to eat,

drink,

or try out,

just let me know

and I'll take care of it for you.

Check out that person in those clothes.

Is he here to shoot a movie?

It looks like

he's cosplaying.

Cosplay?

Hey there,

your outfit

is unique.

Mind telling me

which series

the character you're cosplaying is from?

Co...

Cos?

Hero Is Back.

He's cosplaying Yan Fengzha, a character from it.

Hero Is Back?

Is it good?

It's good.

Very good.

Especially the male lead in it.

He's super handsome.

Really?

Then I'll check it out later.

Come on,

let's take another picture.

Fei...

Thanks. Bye.

Fengzha,

we're in the Human Realm now.

If you want to have a good time,

don't call Feilian again.

Got it?

What's this?

This is called Crazy Circus.

It's really fun.

I'll take you to try it out.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's go.

But this can be a bit intense.

Try not to be scared.

Fengzha, don't puke on me.

Xia Ling.

It's okay.

You'll be fine.

Look, it's not that fast.

No need to be scared.

Yeah, it feels fine.

Fengzha, are you all right?

What do you think? Is this fun?

Yes!

Cao Yanbing.

We've already been on the roller coaster

and the pirate ship.

The remaining options are the drop tower,

the water slide, and the U-shaped slide.

Which one should we try next?

Cao Yanbing, what are you doing?

Don't be so childish.

Surprise!

Fengzha.

We wish you a...

- Happy birthday! - Happy birthday!

What are you guys doing?

This is called a birthday cake.

In a moment, you'll put

a candle on it,

make a wish,

and then blow it out.

This is a classic birthday tradition

in the Human Realm.

Make a wish?

Can you help me make it come true?

That's right.

We'll do our best to help

with whatever we can manage.

Kid,

whatever wish you might have,

feel free to tell us.

We've been through a lot together,

so we're friends now.

And who knows?

We could

be traveling companions in the future.

Yes.

No need to hold back.

Traveling?

I understand now.

All this birthday celebration

and helping me

fulfill my wish

is nothing but a facade.

Your real aim

is to travel with me.

Fengzha,

you're right.

We…

It's good that you admit it.

If you want me to lead the way, just say so.

There's no need

to go through all this trouble.

I'd rather be alone

than deal

with this fake concern and company.

I'm not used to eating this stuff,

so enjoy it yourselves.

It's over.

We messed it up.

My bad.

I shouldn't have mentioned

traveling together with him.

It's not really about who said what.

The real problem

is that our intentions were never pure.

But we truly

wanted to make him happy.

We truly wanted him

to be our guide too.

Never mind. I'll take care of it.

Why are you here?

I admit

our intentions were never pure.

and I apologize.

I'm sorry.

However,

the three of us

genuinely want you

to have a happy birthday.

Since you mentioned leading the way,

then let me be honest.

I sincerely

want to ask you

to guide me to Luhua Ancient Tower

because my mother is trapped inside,

and I need to rescue her.

Your mother is inside Luhua Ancient Tower?

How did you know?

She came to Lingfeng Street ten years ago

and entered the Ancient Tower.

Later, I saw her in the memory

of her Guardian Primordial Spirit.

I'm very sure

she's inside the tower.

Ten years ago?

Well,

did you see anyone else?

Not really.

What's the matter?

Fengzha,

I have a younger brother.

When our mom

had her accident,

he was just a little kid,

always following me around,

asking

where our mom was,

and

when she'd come back.

As he grew older,

he stopped asking.

I thought

he had come to terms

with what happened to our mom.

But one day,

he suddenly asked me,

"Yanbing,

do you still remember

what mom looked like?

I don't remember anymore."

I won't mention anything else for now.

Just on this matter,

how can I avoid going to Luhua Ancient Tower?

Fengzha,

I hope you can help us.

It's okay

if you don't agree right away.

I'm very patient,

and until Luhua Ancient Tower appears,

I'll keep bothering you.

You won't be able to shake me off.

Who cares?

I'm exhausted. I'm heading home.

Liang,

how is everything on Rakshasa Street recently?

He never asks me about stuff like this.

What's going on today?

He must be thinking of me

but is too shy to speak up.

Let's take a break.

I'm beat from walking around all day.

How did it go with Fengzha?

Is he willing to guide us?

He hasn't given me a clear answer yet,

but I've let him know

that I'll keep bothering him

until the Ancient Tower appears.

What else can I do?

I'll just have to go all out,

put my pride aside,

and plead with him.

Ruofu.

I heard

you took Fengzha

to the Human Realm for some fun today.

Thanks a lot

for the trouble.

That's no trouble at all.

I'm not sure

if he had a good time,

but

it must have been pretty unforgettable.

You took Fengzha out today,

and besides celebrating his birthday,

you probably

wanted to talk to him

about whether he could be your guide.

I'd like to talk to you

about this as well.

Please go ahead.

Based

on experience,

once the guide reaches the Voidwood

and points out the location of the Ancient Tower,

they can return.

That's why my uncle

agreed to let Qiao lead the way.

But unexpectedly,

Qiao,

who is Fengzha's older sister,

never came back,

and everyone assumed

she was dead.

We suspect

something must have happened

in the Voidwood

that would endanger the guide's life.

That's probably why

my mother didn't want you

to find Fengzha.

You're going to the Ancient Tower

for your loved ones,

but for Fengzha,

it could mean risking his life.

I know

you came to Lingfeng Street

to find the guide,

but as Fengzha's cousin

and his only remaining family,

I urge you to reconsider.

Is it really necessary

for Fengzha to guide you?

What are you thinking about?

I'm thinking

about what my mom

would do in this situation.

Then I'll also think

about what

my dad would do.

I don't even need to think about it.

He would tell me

to hurry back

because it's too dangerous here.

Fair enough.

Well,

let's not worry about what our parents would think.

After all, this is our issue

to deal with,

and ultimately,

we have to make the decision

ourselves.

I want to know

the reason behind my father's death,

why he left without saying goodbye,

and why his death was so mysterious.

All the answers can only be obtained

by entering the Ancient Tower.

You and Beiluo

have even more reasons to go there.

But

I do understand

why Ruofu doesn't want Fengzha to take risks.

That's true,

but we've already considered

everyone's stance on this matter.

Wait,

there's one more person.

- Yan Fengzha. - Yan Fengzha.

Yes,

your thoughts,

my and Beiluo's thoughts,

and Ruofu's thoughts

are all valid,

but they aren't Fengzha's thoughts.

Fengzha is the guide,

so whether or not

he will go to the Voidwood

should be up to him.

By the way, Xia Ling,

do you remember

that Fengzha had a wish he almost made

at the amusement park

but held back?

I think

he might have his plans.

Let's go

meet up with Beiluo.

Why?

Let's go find Beiluo

and analyze the thoughts and emotions

of the Wind-Treading Clan teenager,

as well as his adolescent mindset.

Qiao,

I went

to the Human Realm today.

There's a place

called an amusement park,

and it's really fun.

Qiao, what brings you here?

It's so early.

The sun's barely up.

Fengzha,

I'm about to leave.

I came to see you before I go.

Leave?

Where are you going?

I'm off to the Voidwood

to guide some people

and find the Luhua Ancient Tower.

Luhua Ancient Tower?

Isn't that the place

where Father said terrifying deities reside?

Qiao,

when will you be back?

If it's just showing them the way,

it should only take a day or two, right?

Qiao,

what's wrong?

Why aren't you saying anything?

Fengzha,

you need to hear me out.

Even though I'm going

to assist others as a guide,

I have

additional plans.

I also want to explore the Luhua Ancient Tower.

What?

Qiao, you can't go.

Fengzha,

your Guardian Primordial Spirit

is named Feilian.

Ancient texts record it

as a divine beast of my clan.

Although the deities in the Ancient Tower

are terrifying,

they've been protecting our clan

for generations.

I don't think

they'll make things difficult for me.

If I can gain

their guidance,

you may have a chance

to gain your freedom.

You're doing all this for me.

Please don't go, Qiao.

Fengzha,

think about it.

If you can control Feilian,

you won't have to stay locked

in this small room

with chains every day

and have no freedom.

I don't want freedom anymore.

Qiao, please don't go.

Fengzha,

I promise you

that I will come back alive.

There, there,

stop crying now.

While I'm away,

focus on your training

and wait for my return,

okay?

It's settled then.

Qiao.

Qiao, don't go.

Fengzha,

however reluctant you are,

I'm going to the Luhua Ancient Tower today.

It only appears

once every ten years,

and I don't want to miss it.

No.

Fengzha,

I'm giving you

this Moon and Star Pendant.

It has

a little spell I cast

with my Primordial Spirit Power.

If it keeps glowing,

it means I'm still around.

Let it keep you company

while I'm away.

Qiao,

if possible,

I hope to take you

to an amusement park someday.

That

is my birthday wish.

Fengzha,

it's me.

I didn't come here today

to debate

about whether you should be our guide

but to talk about your sister.

I know

that ten years ago,

your sister went to the Voidwood

to lead the way

and never returned.

Everyone thinks

something went wrong

in the forest

and she lost her life.

Ruofu told me this

out of concern for your safety.

She didn't want you to go to the forest and guide us.

But if I put myself in your shoes,

I think you probably

care more

about your sister's safety

than your own.

Otherwise,

you wouldn't have asked me at the amusement park

if I saw anyone else

in the memory

of my mother's Guardian Primordial Spirit.

So,

I guess

you've always suspected

that your sister

didn't just go to guide the way

but went into the Luhua Ancient Tower

and got trapped

with my mother's group.

So, Fengzha,

here's my suggestion.

If you

want to rescue your sister from the Ancient Tower,

all three of us can help.

But

you'll need

to guide us.

I promise

I'll protect you

through any danger.

Whatever the difficulties

or challenges,

as long as your sister is alive,

I'll make sure

she gets out

and reunites with you

in Lingfeng Street.

I, Cao Yanbing,

always keep my promises.

Maybe I guessed wrong,

but it's okay.

Fengzha,

if you have any wishes,

feel free to tell us.

As long as we can make it happen,

we definitely will.

Could it be

that I guessed wrong?

Or was I not sincere enough?

I think he simply didn't hear anything you said.

Let's just go inside.

Fengzha,

we're coming in.

Fengzha?

He's not here.

[Yan Fengzha]

Ruofu,

by the time you read this letter,

I will have already left Lingfeng Street

for Luhua Ancient Tower.

I'm sorry

I didn't tell you the truth.

Back then, my sister

didn't just go into the forest to guide people.

She also went into the tower for me,

which is why she never came back.

Now

that I can control Feilian,

I must go find her.

I believe she's still alive,

and when I find her,

we can show her

how much we've grown

as we agreed.

She'll be so happy to see us.

Also,

if Cao Yanbing bothers you,

just tell him

I find him too annoying

and don't want to travel with him.

If they want to go to the tower,

they'll have to catch up by themselves.

So Fengzha

wants to go to Luhua Ancient Tower

to bring Qiao back.

If he doesn't at least try,

he'll probably never be able to let it go.

In that sense,

he's a lot like you.

Exactly.

Otherwise,

how could I have guessed his thoughts

so accurately?

Since going to Luhua Ancient Tower

is his own decision,

I'll leave him in your care.

Don't worry.

Even though he didn't hear it,

I've already promised him

that I will bring him back safely,

regardless of the difficulties

and challenges.

It's a deal.

It's a deal.

High-fiving to seal the deal? Are we kids or something?

Elder Mei, you are...

From now on,

General, you will be the Spiritual Guardian

of Lingfeng Street.

This bow is my gesture of respect to you.

The future of the Wind-Treading Clan

now rests on your shoulders.

This is the General's Chain

of Lingfeng Street.

Please accept it,

General Ruofu.

[Lingfeng]

- General. - General.

Mother, rest assured.

I will certainly protect Lingfeng Street

and be a good Spiritual Guardian.

Xia Ling,

I will await your return.

Don't worry,

it won't be too long.

I'll come back and drink with you.

General.

- General. - General.

You must all come back together.

[Tiangang Hall]

Chief,

Cao Yanbing and the other two

have set out today

for the Voidwood

to catch up with the guide.

They should soon arrive

at the final destination,

the Luhua Ancient Tower.

Great.

It seems their journey

is going quite smoothly.

He's just a pawn.

Without you

guiding him every step,

Cao Yanbing would likely have been dead already.

As for the Luhua Ancient Tower,

Xuanma,

you'll enter with me.

We will proceed according to the plan.

Yes, Chief.

Also,

regarding the malevolent aura

surrounding Cao Yanbing,

be sure to keep a close watch

to avoid any unforeseen complications.

Understood.

Once we enter the Ancient Tower,

I'll make sure to monitor him closely

to prevent any unforeseen changes.

Let's look forward to what happens

inside the Ancient Tower.

The world

is about to change.

[Voidwood]

Beyond this point

is the Voidwood territory.

The forest is so enormous

that finding the Luhua Ancient Tower

still requires a guide,

even without any illusions.

We haven't seen Yan Fengzha

along the way.

What should we do?

Moreover, if we don't enter soon,

we'll run out of time.

Whether we have a guide

or not,

I am determined to find

the Luhua Ancient Tower.

Haven't you noticed

that since Fengzha obtained Feilian,

he's become unusually arrogant?

Doesn't he realize

that the power of a Guardian Primordial Spirit

depends on the Spirit-hosted Human?

With his skills,

if he entered

the Luhua Ancient Tower alone,

he'd be killed in no time

and wouldn't even have time to regret it.
