[Hero Is Back]

[Adapted from Xu Chen's comic: Rakshasa Street]

[Episode 15]

How is Elder Mei doing?

Elder Mei woke up once yesterday,

but after enduring much hardship

as the Fire-Eater King's hostage

and the torment of extreme fear,

he hasn't fully come to yet.

Don't worry,

the major threat has been dealt with today.

I'll check on him

later.

Meanwhile, you should go up to the attic

and gather some rare herbs

to bring to Elder Mei.

Yes, ma'am.

Yan Lingyu.

Cao Yanbing,

let's talk this out calmly.

You should calm down.

I'm very calm at the moment.

Mr. Cao,

what brings you to me?

Tell me,

where's the real guide?

I don't get what you're talking about.

Stop pretending.

Yan Ruofu has shown us

in the trial

that she's not the guide.

The real guide is Yan Fengzha.

So, you were in such a hurry to see me

just for this.

Since Ruofu

has already told you everything,

she must have also mentioned

that my nephew

passed away

years ago.

That's just what she heard from you.

Why should I take your word for it?

Let me ask you this then.

If there is a real guide

in Lingfeng Street,

why would I need

to have my daughter impersonate one?

Then why didn't you tell the truth

from the beginning?

Cao Yanbing.

General Yan.

We have no guilt regarding Lingfeng Street.

But your behavior

is unacceptable.

Given your earlier deception,

we can't trust you any longer.

We need

to address this matter directly with Tianyue.

I told you long ago

that my brother has been bedridden for a long time

and honestly cannot...

I don't care.

Your family's matters

are entirely based on your word.

I want to see Yan Tianyue.

Well,

since you're determined to meet him,

please follow me.

However,

be prepared for what you're about to see.

General.

Why are you being so hasty?

What's the matter?

Some elders have sent some medicinal herbs over.

We'd like you to inspect them before storing them away.

Go to the Assembly Hall

and keep an eye on the Young General.

You may leave now.

My brother has been sick for over four years.

He has been staying here all that time.

When you go in later,

please remember to keep your voice down.

- General. - General.

Come with me.

Be good.

Be good now.

Go to sleep.

Be good.

Tianyue.

Don't be upset with me.

It's all my fault.

How about we eat something?

Good boy.

I won't be strict with you anymore.

I won't hit you again.

Let's just eat a little.

Tianyue,

it's me,

Beiluo,

Beiluo Shimen.

The noise you are making

has made my child

lose his appetite.

I know now.

You are all Malevolent Beings.

I'm going to kill you!

I'm going to kill you!

I'm going to kill you!

I'll kill you!

Sorry, everyone.

My brother has been like this

for many years.

Xia Ling,

ask Li Xuanyuan

to check if General Tianyue's illness

can still be treated.

[Jing'an Pavilion]

He has already taken

the pills given by Li Xuanyuan,

but it's still uncertain

whether they will cure him.

You said it's uncertain,

so there's still a chance?

Li Xuanyuan said the chances are very slim,

and even if treated,

it won't be resolved in a day or two.

The root of my brother's illness

is actually Fengzha.

With Qiao missing while searching

for the Ancient Tower

and his son killed by his own hands,

which father

in the world

wouldn't go mad

under such circumstances?

So,

this is why you've been preventing me

from meeting him?

Beiluo,

imagine

if you were my older brother,

would you be willing to let your friend

see yourself

in such a ghastly

and grotesque condition?

I'm sorry.

I misjudged you.

General Yan,

if what you're saying is true,

Yan Fengzha is already dead,

and there is no guide in Lingfeng Street,

why didn't you just say so?

Instead, you had Ruofu pretend to be the guide.

Do you know

that Cao Yanbing almost lost his life

trying to eliminate the Fire-Eating King?

Mr. Cao,

the blame for all these mistakes lies with me.

Lingfeng Street isn't powerful enough,

and Ruofu's temporary lie

has caused misunderstandings.

Given Mr. Cao's fiery

and resolute nature,

I'm concerned that,

once he learns the truth

and realizes

that finding the Ancient Tower is hopeless,

he might turn his rage

against Lingfeng Street.

General Yan,

what are you trying to say?

Do you think

that Cao Yanbing

is just like the Fire-Eater King?

I certainly hope he's not.

Mr. Cao helped us

deal with the Fire-Eater King,

and I will reward him handsomely.

But for certain things,

there are limits

to what can be done,

and not everything

will turn out as we hope.

Mr. Cao, I hope you

can come to terms with this

and not be too insistent.

Impossible!

That phony woman.

Cao Yanbing,

she's definitely lying to you.

- That's right, just like that. - Listen up, Yan Lingyu.

I don't believe

a single word you say.

You claim that Yan Fengzha is dead, right?

Threaten her.

- Now, grab her neck. - Then I need to see him,

whether he's alive or dead.

Excuse me?

How dare you trample on the dignity

of the Wind-Treading Clan!

So what if I've trampled on it?

Shut up!

Cao Yanbing.

Anyway,

I won't let this slide.

Just you wait.

Lingyu,

Cao Yanbing may have overreacted a bit

in this situation,

but his feelings

are understandable.

Don't blame him.

Overreacted?

You need to understand,

to me, your friend

is no different from the Fire-Eater King.

I'm just worried

that Lingfeng Street

is about to suffer.

This is the place

my brother would give his life to protect.

It won't happen.

Cao Yanbing isn't that kind of person.

Are you sure?

Don't worry.

As long as I'm here,

I'll never let him do anything

to harm Lingfeng Street.

Yan Ruofu.

General.

You ungrateful traitor!

Mother.

Stop calling me Mother.

I have no daughter like you.

General,

Cao Yanbing and the other two

passed the trial,

which is why I released them.

I'm not the real guide,

so I tried to explain the truth.

What exactly did I do wrong?

You, on the other hand,

deceived them first,

and then used the trial as an excuse to kill them.

You even targeted an old friend like Beiluo

and your benefactor's son

like Cao Yanbing.

You can't distinguish right from wrong. You repay kindness with treachery.

Now tell me, who's really at fault?

Good, very good.

Since I'm not considered

a mother in your eyes

and you see me as an enemy,

then

there's no need

to hide anything anymore.

Just be honest with me.

You had them see Fengzha

in the trial

as the true guide.

How did you manage to do that?

Because I've summoned

my Guardian Primordial Spirit,

and its power is to paint dreams.

You can summon the Guardian Primordial Spirit now?

Why didn't you tell me?

It's a Guardian Primordial Spirit

that only creates dreams and has little combat power.

Even if I told you,

you wouldn't be interested.

Not necessarily.

You can summon it,

and I'll take a look.

You

want to see it?

Just summon it.

Zhuoying.

[Zhuoying]

No!

This is the consequence of betraying me

and our Wind-Treading Clan.

You

are now

utterly useless.

Leave Lingfeng Street

and don't ever return.

Fine,

if Lingfeng Street is so unwelcoming, then so be it.

I know

that I've never met

your expectations,

but to me,

you've been equally disappointing.

Is Fengzha

really dead?

Get out!

Young General.

General,

Young General...

Do you need me to go and bring her back?

No need.

Let her go.

Lingfeng Street

will probably be in turmoil later.

Lang Da,

there's something

I need you to take care of immediately.

Why are you leaving?

She lied to you.

Are you going to just ignore it?

Go back.

Go back now!

Shut up!

If you could be calm and collected

in just a second,

I would shut up right away.

But can you really do that?

I'm warning you,

regardless of what you are,

get out of my body right now.

It's really hurtful

to hear you say that.

We've already met

twice before.

Don't you remember at all?

Nonsense!

I don't even know who you are.

Initially,

I helped you kill the Prison Guardian.

Then,

I assisted you in defeating the Fire-Eater King.

And this time,

I'm awakened by the anger in your heart.

I'm ready to aid you again.

The Prison Guardian?

The Fire-Eater King?

I don't mind repeating myself.

I am you,

so I know

you're extremely angry

and anxious right now.

Here's a tip.

If you want someone to pay the price,

you must destroy

what she values the most.

Look at this Lingfeng Street.

It's so vulnerable.

If it were to be engulfed in flames,

Yan Lingyu would be devastated.

She would submit and comply.

What do you say?

Want to call forth my power?

The kind that can turn this place

into hell in a second.

I've told you the method,

killing intent.

Feel free to summon me anytime.

Remember the method:

killing intent.

It's you,

my demonic form.

You've finally remembered me.

This makes our conversation

much easier.

Do you really believe

that the guide is dead?

Of course, I don't believe it.

Only someone

trying desperately

to cover something up

would make

so many unnecessary moves,

just like Yan Lingyu.

Excellent.

You are indeed a smart one.

Just do as I say

and destroy Lingfeng Street.

Scram.

It's not your place

to tell me what to do.

You need to think carefully.

Your mother is waiting for you

at the Luhua Ancient Tower.

Let me help you.

What do you think?

Mom.

Cao Yanbing.

Why bother coming all this way for me?

I fear you might act on impulse

if you don't keep your cool.

My mother is at the Ancient Tower,

and we don't know if she's alive or dead.

Yan Lingyu is full of lies.

How can I possibly stay calm?

All right then.

If Yan Lingyu is lying,

then we should hurry back,

search for clues,

and make every effort to find Yan Fengzha.

Getting angry here

won't help.

Xia Ling,

get this straight.

We're in Lingfeng Street,

which is their turf.

If it hadn't been for Yan Ruofu today,

we might have left Lingfeng Street

without even realizing we'd been deceived.

All right.

So what do you suggest we do?

Take some measures

to force them to tell the truth.

What do you mean by taking some measures?

What kind of measures are you thinking of?

It depends on what Yan Lingyu

cares about.

If she values people,

I'll capture people.

If she cares about the street...

What do you want to do?

Blow up the street?

Cao Yanbing,

have you considered

that this might harm

innocent members of the Wind-Treading Clan?

I'll use any means necessary

as long as I can find Yan Fengzha.

I even assured Yan Lingyu

that you wouldn't harm

innocent members of the Wind-Treading Clan.

It looks like I was wrong about you.

Let me warn you,

this is a place

safeguarded by Tianyue.

If you cause any trouble here,

I won't let you get away with it.

Beiluo Shimen,

you're something else.

Yan Tianyue is your friend,

but what about me?

I need to find the guide,

but you don't?

Let me ask you this.

Are you still going to save Shui or not?

Of course, I want to save her,

but I can't harm the innocent.

Cao Yanbing,

wake up.

You're going down the wrong path.

I don't care whether it's the right path or the wrong one.

But some things are simply unacceptable.

It seems

that your love for Shui

is not as deep as you claim.

Cao Yanbing.

Beiluo Shimen,

you're unworthy of being a father.

If you want to take action against Lingfeng Street,

you need to beat me first!

So you want to fight, huh?

I'll gladly oblige.

Calm down, you two.

Stop fighting.

What are you doing?

This is Beiluo.

Put down the King of Ten Halls.

I'll count to three,

and you better get out of the way.

You want to kill me?

Now is the time.

Embrace your killing intent,

and you'll immediately be able to summon

my power.

I told you to move aside!

Calm down!

All right, I'll leave.

Go to the Ancient Tower yourself.

But let me warn you,

if you harm anyone

in Lingfeng Street,

I will never forgive you in this lifetime.

Let him leave.

It's better if the person blocking your way

isn't around.

Cao Yanbing,

I advise you to calm down.

If you blow up Lingfeng Street,

you'll be no different

from the Fire-Eater King.

Think it over carefully.

Let's go, Cao Yanbing.

Remember

that you are not meant to have friends

when pursuing ultimate strength.

Now, we'll head

to the busiest square in Lingfeng Street.

First, eliminate everyone there,

then raze the General's Mansion.

Let's see if Yan Lingyu will tell the truth afterward.

Hurry up,

and go faster.

You audacious scoundrel,

how dare you bump into me! Take this!

I'll cut you to pieces.

I want your staff.

Give me your staff

and I'll spare your life.

I'll smash you to death!

I'll smash you to death!

I'll smash you to death!

I'll smash you to death!

I'll smash...

No.

No.

Don't.

Don't hurt my child.

Come on. Let's go.

Hurry.

What was that?

What was I doing?

What were you doing?

Why did you hold back?

We were just about

to wipe out Lingfeng Street.

Have you gone soft?

I...

Think about Yan Lingyu.

Despite you risking your life to help her

defeat the Fire-Eater King,

she still distrusts you,

treats you like a criminal,

and deceives you.

You thought that guy was your close friend,

but for a few words

from a woman,

he has turned against you

to defend someone else's territory

without the slightest hesitation.

Shouldn't they

be punished?

Think

about who truly cares for you.

Think about your mother.

Mother.

You little brat,

I've been telling you to grow stronger.

What does it mean to be strong?

It means being able to bear the consequences

of being let down or betrayed,

and still hold onto your true self

through anger and resentment.

That's true strength.

What's going on?

Why is the anger in your heart

fading so quickly?

Aren't you going to find the guide?

Aren't you going to save your mother?

Stop bringing up my mother all the time.

I'm sick of hearing it.

How I find the guide is my business,

and I don't like your methods.

Back off.

How dare you speak to me like that!

Do you know who I am?

You are ancient,

yet you constantly bring up the past.

Don't you find it embarrassing?

Cao Yanbing, you...

Get this straight.

Since you claim to be a part of me

and have made your presence known,

you must follow my rules.

Didn't you say

you'd disappear

once I was calm?

Well, I'm as calm as can be now,

so you can get lost.

Don't get too confident too soon.

Not leaving, huh?

Then,

let me hear you call me "master".

I'll be back.

I can't blow up the streets

or coerce people.

Should I really go door to door

and ask them?

These common folks

know even less

about Yan Fengzha than I do.

Yan Tianyue.

Hasn't he already gone insane?

Beiluo, wait.

Cao Yanbing was just caught up in the moment.

He wouldn't actually do

those things.

He'd rather turn on the world

than be turned on by it.

His attitude is already very clear.

Beiluo.

Beiluo.

We've made such an effort

to get to Lingfeng Street.

Can we please wait a little longer?

When I joined you,

I anticipated

all sorts of failures,

including not finding the guide.

However, I never expected

we'd part ways

like this.

Xia Ling,

if you want to stay and help him,

I won't stop you,

but don't expect me to stay too.

Beiluo,

hear me out first.

After I'm done,

if you still want to leave,

I won't stop you.

Okay.

Go ahead.

But I'll never

change my decision.

Do you know why I'm following you

instead of dealing with him?

It's because I believe

he would never do anything

to harm Lingfeng Street.

I don't need to worry about him.

You really do trust him.

I do trust him.

I admit

that he can be impulsive

and may say

ridiculous things

when he's agitated.

But have you considered

that he hasn't harmed

any innocent people?

Beiluo,

words

can be misleading,

but actions

speak the truth.

Even if Cao Yanbing

won't act rashly

as you've said,

I'm afraid we won't be able

to get to the Ancient Tower after all.

Do you also believe

that Yan Fengzha is dead?

When Yan Ruofu

heard about Yan Fengzha's death

from her mother,

she wouldn't have easily believed it.

Therefore,

this requires solid evidence.

Also, think about it.

The Fire-Eater King threatened

to slaughter the street,

and Yan Lingyu valued Lingfeng Street so much.

However, she still chose to let her daughter

pretend to be the guide

rather than hand over Yan Fengzha.

This indicates

that Yan Fengzha

might indeed be dead.

What you're saying makes a lot of sense,

but I still have the feeling

that something doesn't quite add up.

Xia Ling,

sometimes people's instincts

can be unreliable,

and hiding a person

is not so easy.

Xia Ling,

what's on your mind?

Nothing.

I probably misheard it.

Miss Xia.

General Yan.

I finally found you.

Can I help you with anything?

Since my brother

took Li Xuanyuan's pills,

his condition has gotten better.

He is awake now

and able to recognize me.

Are you saying that Tianyue is all right now?

My brother was very happy

to hear you had arrived

and insisted on seeing you.

That's why I rushed over

to find you.

He even managed to remember Beiluo?

That's right.

It shows

that your Guardian Primordial Spirit is quite remarkable.

Then let's head over now.

Let's go.

Let's go.

General.

General.

All right,

you can all go back now.

No need to guard this place anymore.

- Yes, sir. - Yes, sir.

Could it be

that Yan Tianyue faked his insanity?

Since General Tianyue

has remembered Beiluo,

does that mean he has also recalled

other things in the past?

Miss Xia, I understand

that you want to inquire about the guide.

I'll take you

to see my brother soon,

so you can ask him directly.

I hope his answers

will ease your concerns

and address

the past misunderstandings we've had.

But,

in any case,

it's really

thanks to your assistance

that my brother's condition

has improved.

If my hospitality

was ever lacking in any way,

please forgive me.

Not at all,

never mind it.

Let's go.

This way, please.

We'll go check on him.

Okay.

Tianyue?

Tianyue.

Tianyue.

Tianyue, wake up.

He's dead.

You did it.
