Cory, Rachel, you're going to be choosing targets--

a male and a female from each era

who must win the next challenge.

If they don't, they'll have a chance

of going into the Arena.

So, Rachel, looks like no one's up there for you to nominate.

So we have our targets set.

- Head back up there. - I am a team of one.

I now have to beat the entire house.

All right, Rachel, solo mission.

You know, you've got your smug little smile on,

and you think it's all cute.

Then why are you still talking to me if you hate me so much?

The lone soldier from Era One!

Right now, unlike every other era, it is

myself for Era One as a target.

There is no one else.

Next challenge, I need to win to keep myself out of the Arena,

and in some weird, twisted way, I'm excited.

Part of the reason

that I volunteered to be a target is

keeping my girl Rachel safe.

If our era wins, I can

dictate, as the target winner,

Three and Four going against each other

and making some happen.

Knowing that Laurel is a target with me

lets me know that she is going

to make sure that we do not lose.

On the other side of things,

Laurel isn't the most popular person,

and any one of these ladies

that's not also a target would love

to get her out of the house.

Quite honestly, I think everyone tolerates Laurel, but her only

real friend in the house is Bananas, and I think

he's only friends with her 'cause he's afraid of her.

-You just lucky you weren't down there. -I'm proud of you, man.

I've been in twice.

I'm going beyond Era Three to make my connections.

The person that I'm working with on Era Two is Nehemiah.

Me and him have been true to each other since day one.

I definitely feel like I could trust Nehemiah

more than I can people on my own team.

I've probably been here about 15 hours.

Up until this point,

I mean, I have to be incredibly proud

of the vacation alliance. Like,

Kaycee, myself, Josh, Devin--

we have all somehow finagled our way

through this game unscathed, none of us

seeing an elimination.

But Devin and I

are targets right now.

And the best-case scenario for Era Three

is either Era Three wins, so that way, we're safe,

or Era Four wins,

and hopefully, Kaycee will have my back

so that Era Four can save us.

It's so weird, Rachel just being a party of one.

It just doesn't make sense.

Obviously,

I'm tied and locked in with

the vacation alliance.

I also have a really

strong bond with Rachel,

and I'm rooting for her.

Anybody who's with Banana man now after

he very blatantly lied to try to fracture our relationship,

and now, my position in the game,

isn't with me.

What are we supposed to be like, "We're done with you,"

actively know, and then be on the other end of a target

for a vendetta that you guys have going on?

I'm not asking anyone to do.

I can handle my own... in this game, and I always have.

But we're in the position where we have to choose. I'm there.

Devin is coming after me.

But now,

you have Kaycee and Kyland,

Tori and Devin as targets, all working together.

If there is some way

we could get the four of them in an elimination together,

absolute chef's kiss

for my game.

Definitely this pool of targets is stacked,

but I want to make it undeniable.

I am the best of the best.

I come here to win. I think about the money second.

I do feel comfortable being a target

when Tori and Devin

are also in there so we can work together.

I truly feel we are the most solid alliance in this game.

They are going to do

whatever they can to break us apart.

So, we have got to keep this momentum.

We have no room for error,

and we just cannot lose.

Being a team of one puts me at a very

big disadvantage in terms of negotiation.

I cannot afford to not win this challenge.

I am not just doing this for myself anymore.

for all of Era One.

in beautiful Vietnam on this season

Battle of the Eras.

Well, we started off with 40 of you,

and we are down to just half.

There are only 20 players left,

which means you doubled your chances

to make that final and win it all.

Today's challenge

- is called Bottoms Out. - Perfect.

Yes.

You know, we all like

bottoms out.

Of course, Ryan would be the target on

this lovely challenge.

Now, we have a giant container

out there above the water.

Yes, you will be in that container,

but first, you will be answering

a series of equations

-that are going to flash up on that board. -No!

Yes.

Once 27 equations have gone, we're gonna stop.

And however many equations you got right earns your team

handholds and footholds to secure on that container.

So, one team at a time, you'll step into the container,

the doors will shut.

Then you'll be hoisted over the water.

Doors will open.

That's your signal. You better start hanging on.

The goal is simple.

Be the team that lasts the longest.

The team to do so will win today's challenge

and have the only targets safe from elimination.

To all you targets out there, the only way to stay safe

is to win.

has never been my strong suit.

and pretend like I'm doing math.

I suck at math. I always cheated at math

at school. I mean, honestly, I remember

helping my seven-year-old niece on her math homework one time,

and she corrected my answers.

51 was one of the answers.

I have gotten 100% in every single math class

that I've ever taken, including calculus.

I think math is so rude.

It's literally addition. Like, that's the thing

that gets me. People are, "Oh, my God, math!"

I'm like, "You can't add?"

What's wrong with you?

Hey, at least I'm not the target today.

Luckily, we have Kyland the Calculator

because he is gonna

be able to solve these equations better

than the rest of our entire era combined.

All these math equations,

they're moving pretty fast.

I mean,

Era One is party of one.

Although Rachel is a super freak

and a beast, I don't really know

how she can pull this one off.

Only 12 equations left.

I mean,

'Merica, you know you want me to win!

I have to win. This is bigger than me.

This challenge is representing

every little kid out there,

every adult that's ever felt alone,

that's had their back up against the wall,

that's continued to fight through it.

That is what this challenge represents to me.

Our team has to work together to solve

27 quickly rotating math equations.

Depending on how many math equations our team gets right

will correlate to how many rock climbing holds we have

in this crate over water.

And, guess what, my math is gonna be the thing

that plummets me to my death.

will give you another handhold or foothold in that container.

with a tie, it goes to the best average per player.

So since Era Three has less players, better average.

on the rock climbing wall.

I know the body distribution I need to have

in order to stay up the longest.

So the pegs that I choose allow me

a little space to stretch out.

the vacation alliance a huge blow.

Just the thought of

a potential matchup between

Devin and Tori, Kyland and Kaycee,

seemed unfathomable.

from becoming a reality.

I can't help but look at

the people of my team that might be nominated.

I could find myself in a situation

where I'm losing either Devin or Kyland,

Kaycee or Tori. One way or another,

I'm actively working with in this game.

And I'm not even a target.

And it just took one woman on her own to get it.

So I know that everybody's gonna be looking at me

you're actually useful as a friend for once.

I kind of feel like

I let Kaycee down

because I got DQ'd from the challenge.

But I'm going to try my best

If I'm gonna take anything away from this Challenge,

it's that I met you.

And I truly feel that it's always been

Right now it's ideal to not go into elimination,

My kneejerk reaction was Ryan's on Era Two.

He's my best friend in the game.

But then I actually sat down and said, you know what,

this is an opportunity for me to do

what's best for my game.

The truth is, is that Kyland could help my game.

He's very smart, he is very good at the game.

And I'm ready now

to really start aligning myself

with the people I want to run a final with.

So I would propose to you

working with me and Kaycee.

We can provide a direct benefit,

more than the other option.

- We're gonna be fine. - I'm not worried about it.

I'm not leaving. And if I do,

I'll be in the Philippines, waiting for your arrival.

Looking at Ryan and looking at Kyland,

the preferred matchup is Ryan.

He's got a worse elimination record,

and Kyland and I are allies in this game.

But Ryan and Rachel have a really good friendship,

so I don't know if there's even a shot

we're gonna be able to get out of this one.

So, the vacation alliance

wants to rope me in to protecting them.

I want to know that if I don't go that route,

that I have you in my corner.

Okay, so, first and foremost, I have no one to protect.

-I have no promises that have been made. -Yeah.

So if you want to go forward, moving forward in this thing,

even if it does break up individual,

-I probably will win a lot of challenges. -Yeah.

Vacation alliance... this is not your day.

And as much as I'd love to see a Laurel/Tori situation,

I don't think that that's what's going down.

I feel like this would be a good situation moving forward.

what will most likely come back around to me.

I know Josh wants me to not pick Kaycee.

I love Josh,

but I play my own game.

And although I do like Kaycee,

there are several people I know

that will come before me to her.

I'm in a survival mode.

I have to look at this as just,

what's more advantageous for me.

I just am praying that the relationship

Josh has with Rachel,

that will be enough to save Kaycee and Kyland

from going into elimination against us.

I'll be honest with you, it's hard.

I wish I could say something,

but I know that you're smart

and I support whatever it is that you got to do for you.

If it was any other person, I would have gone to bat--

I would have literally gone to war protecting Kaycee.

But in hearing Rachel's point of view,

I kind of have to respect it and I get where she's coming from.

It's not fair also for me or anyone

to tell you how to play your game.

I am surprised that Josh didn't fight harder

for Kaycee,

but I think he understands

that it's my decision.

Also, like, I've been in there twice.

Nobody can come to me and, like, cry wolf about having to go in.

Regardless of how it looks on the outside,

I struggle with my confidence in this game.

Right now, I'm looking

at two previous champions as potential opponents.

So I'm really fighting to see where I fall amongst the greats.

Do I have what it takes to be a champion again?

The worst-case scenario for me is to go against Tori,

but Josh is like this with Rachel.

So hopefully he was able to do something to help us out.

Game on.

I'm staring down the barrel of two dogs right now.

So if you think

I'm calling somebody out, that's not happening.

And I think, like, looking at the lineup from the girls' side,

like, I really love you guys individually as people.

Kaycee, you are my brother.

-Brother. -You've done so much for me in this game.

It would kill me to have to go against you,

but I will respect Rachel's decision

any which way she cuts it.

I'm ready to make this vacation alliance

become a vacant alliance.

Their game has not affected me,

but I think Tori, Devin,

Kaycee, Kyland, any of those four people

going home is huge.

The fact of the matter is,

if we won, you were safe no matter what.

That was the understanding. You are my ride-or-die.

You are my number one. You know that.

I think it's pretty evident there are people

that have alliances that are

very deep-rooted and deep-seated, and I don't have

anyone that I'm working with,

which means that I am completely available

for the taking in terms of, you help me, I help you.

I know that this decision is probably being made

independent of me

because Rachel is friends with Ryan,

but there is always a shred of doubt.

Tori is the champion,

and I'm doing everything that I can

to avoid going in against Tori in an elimination.

Within Era Four,

you have never been a target, right?

It's always like, kind of just looking out for you

as best as we can.

Ideally,

I would not want to go against my brother,

so there's, there's that aspect.

No one's been at the head of that table more than Era Four.

We've won almost half of the challenges.

And whether or not Kaycee and I go into elimination,

Era Four, and most likely, Kaycee and I

will be back at the head of the table.

Era Four will have the ability

to continue to pay you back.

This is a very pivotal moment in the game.

I think anyone who is a champion

and anyone who has played this game knows

that these decisions are game changers.

So I'm not looking at it lightly.

All right, well, I think we're done.

Regardless of who I send into elimination,

there will be a strong woman and a strong man

in the game coming at me

as enemy number one.

So I really have to step it up

and play my cards right.

he is some kind of liability.

Kyland is an incredibly well-rounded competitor,

so I'm gonna try to win,

We're gonna start it off with congratulating

As for the losing squad, Era Three, Devin and Tori,

since you lost the challenge,

you're coming straight into the elimination. Come on in.

it would be such an amazing moment.

But Tori and I have always kind of worked together,

so I actually kind of feel bad that she is in this situation.

So, Rachel, who's it gonna be?

I believe tonight, Kyland and Kaycee

are gonna be joining.

My heart literally drops.

There's no winning after this.

I'm gonna lose some of my friends.

I knew it was gonna happen at some point.

I just didn't think it was gonna happen this early in the game.

Tonight, you are playing Cable Connection Showdown.

As you can see, there are two giant signs

on the side of the Arena

that have all 40 of the seasons of The Challenge.

Your job tonight is to light those signs up.

At opposite ends of the Arena are two motherboards

with different outlets.

And in the gap between the motherboards,

there are two tables full of tangled cables.

Untangle the intertwined cables

and free up enough slack to plug in

each outlet on the motherboard.

When you think you've made a successful connection,

run over and hit the red button.

If you plugged it in correctly, they'll light up nice.

If you didn't, they'll stay dark.

Now, the logos will only remain lit for a few seconds,

so you better remember which ones are right

before you start adjusting. It could get messy.

First one to light up their entire board

will win tonight's elimination and stay in the game.

You know, you never want to get too comfortable.

Devin's one of the best opponents in the sand.

It's going to be a tough fight. Hopefully, my speed and calmness

can give me the edge.

Honestly, this bundle of cords pales in comparison

to the tangled web of lies and deceit

being spun by Era Two.

Okay, different strategies.

Yeah, just start doing them all,

get them out of there.

This game is pretty simple.

Untangle the cords, plug them into their corresponding plugs,

and light up the board.

Unfortunately for me, I've had a very successful life.

I don't untangle my own cords anymore.

I have Katya for that. She comes over once a week.

She cleans my house, she organizes all my stuff.

But I don't think this game

is about unraveling the cords.

I think it's about

correctly finding the plugs.

So, although it seems like I'm taking my time,

that's part of my strategy.

This is surprisingly tiring.

All right.

My mantra during this elimination is: keep moving.

So, any time that I'm untangling a cord

and I meet resistance that I cannot overcome,

I move on to something else.

Right now, it's my opportunity to show

all of the people who have been watching me and supporting me

and seeing themselves in me,

whether it is because they're on the autism spectrum

or ADHD or Black or Mexican,

that, yeah, you can come in.

You can be a champion. That's what I'm here to do.

Devin has very few things he can hang his hat on

as far as The Challenge is concerned.

One of them involved when he's bested me

in a very similar-looking elimination.

So, this is really against what we stand for,

and we're just gonna have to put up with it.

I feel pretty nervous because I'm going up

against one of the best competitors in the house.
