In that shed?

GRACE: Yeah, the shed.

That way I could visit it all year round

and think of Uncle John.

- Love you. - Love you!

Good old Uncle John.

How the factory sale is going?

The guy wanted to gut it and turn it into storage.

I didn't want that.

Just dump it on the first offer that the puts money

on the table.

Look, as a factory it still has value not only to the buyer,

but to the community.

That's not your problem.

Hey, can we get two coffees medium,

one with cream, one black?

He's payin'.

It'll be 7.25.

Jack gave you an advance on the factory sale in cash?

Yeah.

Well, a Detective Miller was here today.

What?

GRACE: Yeah.

Why?

Because she wants to talk to you

about where all that cash came from.

Are you doing something illegal?

Where is the money coming from?

It's-- it's nothing illegal, it's just--

It's hard to explain.

Well, you better find a way, because I am freaking out.

Are you not happy with what we have?

We have a beautiful home, food on the table, great kids.

MINISTER RYLEE: What can I do for you?

I was thinkin' about what you said this morning.

That uh, "The generous person will prosper--"

"And by watering others, he waters himself."

Proverbs, 11:25.

Yeah, that's it.

I thought uh, I could give some money to your fundraiser.

That'd be wonderful.

Oh, very generous.

Uh, Grace is a little angry with me.

Oh.

Yeah, I've been spending some money

and she thinks I'm bein' irresponsible.

And are you?

I don't know.

When I grew up uh, my-- my parents were

always really worried about money.

I never wanted to be like that.

And I always looked up to Uncle John,

'cause he seemed to have everything.

[Rylee chuckling]

He didn't have a Porsche 718 Cayman.

Yeah, that was maybe a bit much.

[Chuckling]

It all started with Uncle John's plant.

I-- I put it in the shed

and gave it a nice home in the backyard--

And how's it doing?

Great.

It's doing great.

MINISTER RYLEE: That's good.

John would be pleased.

Paul, money can do great things, but it can become a false God.

Well, John was a very giving man.

He knew that if you do unto others

as you would have done unto yourself,

possibilities become endless.

Yeah, yeah, I read about that.

It's called "the laws of attraction".

Yeah, that one's been around for a long time.

In my mind it's too concerned with the me.

Like buyin' a fancy car?

Hey, there's nothing wrong with wanting to reward yourself

with nice things, but after all it's just a car.

It's a really fast car.

Beautiful car.

[Chuckling]

But in the end, it gets you from point A to point B,

it's just a car.

You're right.

Paul, none of us live forever,

so why don't we live our lives knowing

that we've done everything we possibly can to help others?

It's in helping others that we find our true nature.

Yeah.

I can do that.

I'm gonna list Uncle John's house ASAP.

Great.

Oh my!

That's $10,000, about.

But that's a lot of money.

You-- you should talk this over with Grace.

No.

No, I don't want it

and there's more where that came from.

You want a tax receipt?

No.

God, no.

Uh, sorry.

Gosh, no, not this time.

Paul.

I want you to have this.

Oh, pastor, you gave us one when you married us.

Paul, this is Uncle John's Bible.

Maybe it'll help you find some solace.

[♪♪♪♪♪]

[Knocks on door]

Come in.

Ooh, hello.

before supper.

That's an awful lot of cash laying around.

Oh, that's donations for our church fundraiser,

going to a very special cause this year.

From Paul Campbell?

He's a member of our church.

He's also tossing around a lot of cash, lately.

He normally this generous?

Uh, no, he's a very frugal man.

So you would call this act of charity out of character?

Based on past experience, yes.

Is Mr. Campbell in any kind of trouble?

[Grunting]

[♪♪♪♪♪]

[Taking deep breaths]

[♪♪♪♪♪]

I mean the only plant I remember is the burning bush,

but there it is, Proverbs, 11:25,

Selfish.

I started lyin' to cover it up.

And now, the police are asking questions

and I can't even tell the truth,

because who's gonna believe I'm getting my money

from a plant.

Uncle John.

[Sighing]

Why'd you give me this thing?

It's ruinin' my life.

[Takes a deep breath]

GRACE: Morning, guys.

Oh, where's your dad?

He left.

He made us pancakes.

I can see that.

He makes the best pancakes.

He said he'd take me to my game later.

Thought I might find him at home before work.

No, he's not here.

I noticed the Porsche was gone.

Any idea where he might be?

Oh, I really couldn't say.

He's probably selling a house, he's very busy.

I need to talk to him ASAP.

So I'm thinking we should give the factory

like one more once-over before we show it, right?

Uh.

JACK: [On the phone] Are you still there, champ?

Yeah, yeah, so I'll meet you there later, okay?

Hey, Landon, why don't you go get yourself somethin' to eat?

Healthy, okay?

[Takes a deep breath]

That was Michelle.

She said she's never seen Jack so angry.

You wanna tell me what that's about?

He's mad at me.

Why?

Jack wanted to fix it and I told him not to.

What?

I thought we could cover it with a tarp.

I thought it was gonna be fine.

Jack here.

Oh, hey, Grace.

Oh, thank God, that's great news.

Okay.

I'll talk to you later.

Bye.

She's okay.

She's gonna be okay.

[♪♪♪♪♪]

LANDON: Go away!

Landon.

LANDON: I'm not letting you in!

You're angry at me and--

LANDON: I hate you.

Please, don't say that.

I never meant to hurt Kari

and I never wanted any of this to happen.

I don't know how to make this better.

[Grunts]

Being a parent, it's hard.

It's hard work and I-- I haven't been very good at it.

Been too busy workin', and runnin' around,

and tryin' to make more money.

LANDON: So you can buy your fancy cars,

and forget about my games, and the yard,

and spending time with us?

You're right.

I've made some bad decisions.

And I made some really big mistakes.

Mistakes that you're probably never gonna forget,

but I need you to forgive me, buddy.

I need to change,

but I'm hoping you're gonna give me a chance to.

I'm so sorry, Landon.

I'm gonna spend the rest of my life makin' it up to you

I'm arresting you and seizing the Porsche.

We'll read you your rights on the way to the station.

What are you doing here?

Apparently, they think I'm your accomplice.

Must have been that generous cash donation you gave.

I didn't do anything illegal.

I-- I thought I was helpin' out.

People are willing to help when they have the means,

that makes it very special.

If you didn't have the plant,

would you still have done what you did?

You know about the plant?

Yes, I gave it to John, years ago.

Gave it?

That's when the miracle happened.

Miracle?

But how does the--

It seems the plant only appears and helps those

that truly need to change, Paul.

We trust in a higher power.

It helps us find our way.

Why didn't you tell me?

[Chuckling]

You know, John was a lot like you.

Very driven.

Little selfish.

I always saw Uncle John was very generous.

MINISTER RYLEE: No, no.

You know, when I first gave him the plant,

all of a sudden he had lots of money and things,

but he wasn't happy.

He began to look outward to see if he could help others,

that's when he found his real destiny.

He gave to many charitable causes,

he helped fund the Rocky Mountain children's camp

that Grace's family started.

Paul, do you think you've changed?

I don't know.

Well, the Paul I've known over the last few weeks

never would have donated money to any fundraiser,

let alone a homeless person.

Well, how do you know about that?

What are you doin' here?

They think I sold you drugs,

because of the money you gave me.

- Thanks a lot. - I'm so sorry.

I-- I'll tell 'em you're innocent.

Yeah, I-- I can see they really trust you.

You're a giving person, Paul.

You just needed help to figure it out.

Well, look, where it got me.

And you.

And him.

Oh, I think it'll all work out.

PAUL: How?

I can't explain where the money came from.

What am I gonna say? "I got it from a plant"?

Remember John's note.

When you know the truth, you will be set free.

I know the truth.

Truth is I have to change.

Tell me about the Rocky Mountain children's camp.

Grace doesn't ever talk about it.

I'm not surprised, Paul.

It was an amazing time in Grace's life

until her parents suddenly passed.

It's where underprivileged children go

to experience a bit of the world's natural creation

without worrying about the whole world.

Her parents loved it there, it was their dream.

What about Grace?

It was her safe place.

I wish she could go back there.

Luckily, Uncle John's sister Margaret

was able to take care of it and continue the dream

after her parents died in that plane.

Grace won't ever talk about that either.

Terrible thing for a young person

to go through.

Thank God that John and his wife were there for Grace.

I just wish you could get back that little piece of her

she left behind there so many years ago.

I'd like to help make that happen.

[Chuckles]

Church picnic with the fundraiser's next week.

All the funds are goin' to that camp.

I could use some volunteers.

Well, we might still be in here.

[Chuckling]

Have a little trust, Paul.

DETECTIVE MILLER: Yeah, just got the paper,

we're confirming the factory sale.

Hey, sometimes things turn out unexpectedly

and good on you guys

for bringin' work back to this town.

JACK: [On the phone] Hey, we're all in this togethe .

Campbell, I talked to your partner Jack.

He explained everything.

You're free to go.

- What? - Hmm.

You can all go.

Really?

[♪♪♪♪♪]

I have to do something.

Good afternoon, everybody.

I hope you're all having a good time.

Our fundraiser

for the Rocky Mountain children's camp this year

has a very special twist.

Paul, would you come up here, please?

[Taking deep breaths]

Hi, everybody.

Uh, I'm Paul Campbell or as most of you know me here

uh, Grace's husband.

[Chuckling]

Uh, the Rocky Mountain children's camp

was started by my wife Grace's family.

And it's a camp for underprivileged kids

where they can experience and practice generosity,

and teamwork, and compassion.

And for anybody who knows Grace, you can understand

why she, and I, and the kids have decided to start over,

and move west, and start to work at Rocky Mountain.

So uh, this year's fundraiser has a raffle

and we are hoping you're gonna buy a lot of tickets,

because 1st prize is a brand-new, barely-used

Porsche 718 Cayman.

Which uh, it's just a car, but uh, it's a really fast car.

Right, Rylee?

Yes, it's a beautiful car.

Thank you, Paul.

Thank you.

Well, ladies and gentlemen,

enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

[Applause]

You did very well.

I'm very proud of you.

Thanks.

And John would be proud, too.

Paul Campbell, you really are on top of the leader board now.

Jack, you were always on top of the leader board.

I was just tryin' to catch up.

Thanks for being such a great friend.

I'm gonna miss you, brother.

I'm gonna miss you. You're gonna visit.

- Of course. - Yes.

You're gonna visit, right?

Oh, I'm happy for them.

That was pretty good.

You didn't tell me you were gonna donate the car.

You're right.

I didn't and I should have.

[Chuckling]

That's a good idea.

I don't ever wanna see that car again.

[Chuckling]

I got a-- another surprise for you.

Oh yeah?

Yeah.

Uh.

[Chuckles]

You fixed it.

[Takes a deep breath]

Would you?

Yeah.

[Sniffling]

Oh.

[♪♪♪♪♪]

It's perfect.

But it's not perfect yet.

It will be.

[Chuckling]

[Kissing]

[♪♪♪♪♪]

Well, Grace.

Pastor.

Good luck in your new adventure.

I'm gonna miss your talents in church groups.

I'm gonna miss everybody terribly.

And don't you forget to water Uncle John's plant.

Yes, ma'am.

You know, he'd be so glad to know

that you're taking care of it.

I'm gonna miss you.

Mmm.

- Be good. - I will.

- Come visit. - I will.

Travel safe.

[Takes a deep breath]

Well, thanks for everything, Paul.

No, thank you.

Good luck on your next adventure and--

Take good care of it.

Drive safe.

Aunt Margaret.

[Chuckling]

Landon, hey!

I've been waiting a long time for this.

So good to see you.

Oh.

You too, dear.

Oh, you look so much like your mother.

[Chuckling]

Oh.

This is Paul.

Glad to meet you, Paul.

Nice to meet you, Margaret.

And Kari.

- Hi, Kari. - Hi.

- This is Landon. - Hi.

- Hi, Landon. - Oh!

Oh.

These guys have been dyin' to see the horses, so--

I thought you said you wanted to see the horses.

Yeah, so we're just gonna go and see the horses.

That way.

Uh, horses are over here.

Oh, what a beautiful family, Grace.

Yeah, they're pretty great.

Come. Well, come on.

This place is incredible.

John hoped you'd like it.

It's amazing.

It's hard work.

I can't handle it anymore.

It takes so much time and energy,

but when you see the smile on the children's faces,

it's all worth it.

Well, we're here for the long run,

so we're gonna do whatever it takes.

Well, you can start by cleanin' out the barn.

What?

Just kidding.

You can do that tomorrow.

Can we ride the horses?

MARGARET: You bet.

- Hey, Landon. - Yeah?

I'm sorry we never got around to the Campbell family trip.

Dad, trust me, this-- it's so much better.
