I hate to see them go they've done a

great job in this territory we can

handle it Sheriff but with those troops

gone there won't be another Peace

officer on the o trailing 200 miles

plenty of us been thinking the same

thing Sheriff the trail is the lifeblood

of this Terr teritory it's going to take

a lot of men to patrol it so if there's

any way we can help well you we

appreciate the offer tucon but we'll

have to have full-time men for this job

yeah Tom's right you cman better stick

to your ranches but don't think we won't

call on you if we need you I'll get busy

rounding up some deputies all right but

see that they're not gunshot we'll need

men who can eat and sleep in the saddle

if need

be

Boys you've had it pretty lean up here

the past few weeks but the break has

finally come the troops left today well

it's about time we'll see some action

now lead us to it there's only one pass

leading in and out of this territory

cattle stages Freighters all of them

they've got to use the Overland Trail

and now it's ours everything that moves

they can't stop us Sheriff Brook's a

tough man I'll handle the sheriff's

office I'm taking some of you men into

town as deputies the rest of you will

operate from here Finley

pretty plain why we haven't had any luck

stopping those raids too it was Ki

waiting till the troops left before you

now you men listen to me I've been

Sheriff of this community for a long

time if I'd wanted to take advantage of

my office I could have done it long

have to admit this calls for an

explanation

they got talbat in the last raid he's in

jail

new force of deputies with conditions

the way they are there's plenty of

ranchers who would be glad to help and

ask you to pass the word to the ranchers

you your father's

dead

dead yes murdered shot down a few days

ago in this very office we caught the

murder and convicted him but he escaped

my men are out looking for him now it's

only a matter of time till they find him

and bring him

in he gave us a slip we Fray him to his

Ranch but he jumped one of our men made

us get

away get him up what's the idea well

he's the man who helped Tucson

Escape Tucson yes the man who murdered

your father he was one of our best

friends that's what your father thought

too dad mentioned Tucson in all his

letters I heard from him not two weeks

ago the fact remains he killed him there

was bad feeling between them half the

town knew about it and there was a

witness to the

shooting now I know why they told me

these men were Raiders naturally they

had to cover up in front of

you well I came here to work for my

father I am going to work for him I'm

asking you to deputize

me do you know where we can find Tucson

I figure that's a one-man

job I understand how you

blackton that's very touching I've seen

you put your act on before let's

go

[Music]

[Applause]

neither you or anyone else has taken me

in Stony I'll turn myself over when the

Circuit Judge gets here not before then

we'll see how blackton evidence stands

up at a fair trial the judges do hear

any day now to reopen the case I'm not

counting on waiting that long we'll meet

again nice work Helen next time I won't

be so careless

we ain't caring no gold boys nothing

aboard but one

passer I'm sorry to disappoint you if

this keeps up you'll have to try and

earn an honest living you're doing a lot

of talking ain't you grandpy do a lot

more if I ever have you up before me I

happen to be a judge of the Circuit

Court a

judge well what do you know no I can

think of No Greater pleasure than

sentencing the whole thi crew of you to

life my only regret would be I couldn't

hang you all right get going all right

see you in court your

honor that's our

[Music]

[Applause]

man

[Music]

a

[Music]

[Music]

get

hold up

murder why it's judge Craig the Circuit

Judge

yes it's too bad he was a fine old

man where' this happen about 2 mi south

of Saddle Rock

Canyon you'd better be on your way

before the trail gets cold I'll go with

him wait a minute Brooke we'll have to

make out a report oh can't I do that

later the boys will find the place they

know every inch of this

country when did it happen about an hour

ago must have heard about that gold

shipment there was no gold on that

stage how do you know no shotgun guard

just a

driver that's smart thinking Stony but

you're still new to this business gold

is often shipped unguarded just to keep

from tipping the bandits off only this

time the Dodge didn't

work

sign your name

here I'll be a nice boy mama's going to

do a little shopping and she'll be right

but don't want no haircut you heard what

your mommy

said oh pardon

me

hey I listen to the little

birdies don't like

birdies Ducks

neither make like a train whistle

again how dare you pick on my

child

oh hi Stony listen L I need some help

what it's as good as done now I want you

to go over to the Express office and

find out if there was any gold on the

stage is that all yes only make sure

nobody knows what you're doing oh I know

I could

Tech yes now when you find out meet me

at Willow Springs sure I'll get the dope

for you all

right

[Music]

[Music]

not a scent the Saddle Rock stage hasn't

carried any gold since the soldiers

[Music]

left hey you going to take your

livestock with you you can have them but

take good care of

[Music]

them what'd you find out wasn't any gold

on that stage haven't shipped any since

the troops left now I know I'm right

about what oh a certain

killing is there any other way I can

help you know folks get kind of

confidential in the barber

chair hey that's an idea you keep your

eyes and ears open if you hear anything

important let me know you bet I

will got to say one thing for this town

Mr Marson never a d moment jailbreaks

stage hold UPS all kind of excitement

yeah I'm even getting the

shave I couldn't reach him he's probably

on his way to your place and with the

judge killed off we better get him out

of there

[Applause]

quick where's Tony what's all the

excitement I got something important to

tell him well maybe you can tell me well

he asked me to tell him if I heard

anything

suspicious what did you hear oh Mr Mars

and another fell were saying that they

had to sneak somebody out of his house

on the count of the judge was dead

sounds kind of crazy don't it

no I think it kind of makes

sense good

work don't forget to tell Stoner that I

told

you

[Music]

you won't find Tucson here Helen listen

I know now that everything you and

Tucson told me is true the Circuit Judge

you've been waiting for was on the

afternoon stage I know that but you

don't know that he was murdered blackton

tried to make it look like a holdup I

found out he was lying it was deliberate

murder to make sure TUC son's case

wouldn't be reopened Helen you've got to

trust me tell me where he's going and

I'll try and stop

him he'll be at the Maron Ranch

tonight

wait here's your gun you might need it

[Music]

thanks

[Music]

hello Stony what's up I'm still looking

for Smith well you're just in time we

got word he's coming through here to

marson's

Ranch I'll go after him he isn't there

yet but this is the only Road let's wait

over

here

[Music]

this is what I've been waiting for wait

a minute this is my

[Music]

party

laon's men are waiting fall when I

[Music]

fire stay

[Music]

quiet he's dead than safe brush nice

work Stony well how about it let him lie

there I give a message to sheriff

blackton yeah I know what's wrong wasn't

that what you wanted well get out to

Marin's Place Tucson's there take him

over to Willis Springs and I'll see you

there

later might a trick of shooting I'd say

too tricky for me to want to be the

target again there's one target I don't

want to

miss

blackton we I have a tough time proving

it Stony he's planned this thing for a

long time it's well

organized I spotted those deputies

they're all his men besides that he has

another gang working the trail

I know what you're planning to do Stony

well it's a showdown you can't buck that

gang alone it's too smart an outfit I

don't care how smart they are I'm going

after blackton one false move now and

we'd all be lost the Rancher's been

ready to make a move for a long time

I'll round them up you can't show your

face in town I'll do it they wouldn't

believe you neither you're blackton

de

don't look at me I don't know the

ranchers all you have to do is to get

them in your shop they'll believe

[Music]

this

[Music]

how come you're shaving folks for

nothing well sort of like a sample so

the folks will get to know me my name is

Lear Json what's your name glad to know

you what's her name Richards Harley

[Music]

Richards

ever see this Tran Smith yeah marsden's

Place 8:00 tonight spread the word right

[Music]

now 8:00 tonight spread the

[Music]

word don't forget 8:00 tonight better

hurry give me a quick shave just closing

up for tonight

[Applause]

Sheriff I said give me a shave yes

sir

come

here where'd you get

this uh uh it's right pretty ain't it I

said where'd you get it I didn't get it

a customer left it in here who I don't

know I don't know the name seem a half

the folks that comes

[Music]

in hello blackon going someplace yes I

have an engagement who with it's

personal I better get cleaned up that

won't be necessary what's the matter

with you Tucson Smith is alive what are

you talking about you saw me shoot him

he's dead

I saw him fall but maybe he was only

shot

at somebody's pulling a trick on you

we'll find out get your

horses we're heading for the Marsen

Ranch you're going with us

Brooke

I'll admit the plan is dangerous but

we've got to settle this now or never

now stony's idea is for each of us to

contribute enough cattle to make a

sizable herd then start a drive through

the Overland Trail blackton sure to fall

for it oh I don't know Tucson what if it

don't work we stand a chance to lose all

our cattle we're going to lose them all

anyway in another week's time this grass

will be all scorched out and if we don't

move those cattle they're going to be

dying off on our hands we can't stay

bottled up here forever well it's worth

the risk just to get them Fells out in

the open and break that gang once and

for

all all right Tucson I'm with you I'm

with you too

good not worried about your engagement

are you nope I was just thinking what a

sucker you'll be if this turns out to be

an

ambush

it's a

[Music]

trap

[Music]

[Music]

la

black and these men are headed this way

we'll handle black this time no Gunplay

try and go through with our plans come

on to I got to get you out of

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

here

cover the

[Music]

rear what's the idea of breaking in here

like this official business search the

house all the ranchers agree to your

plans don't he they start moving in the

her in the morning that's good if I know

blackton he'll fall for

it not a sign of them anywhere you see

Sheriff I told you this meeting was

strictly business we're organizing a

drive to move our stock well isn't that

a little risky with all this raiding

going on well we know we're taking a

gamble but we figured with your help we

might be able to get through you see

we're pulling all of our interests well

this will be the biggest Drive we've

ever tried to get to Market I was coming

in and ask you and some your men if

you'd ride with us tomorrow you see

that's all the protection we'd need we'd

sure appreciate

it I assure you can count on me fine

That's mighty generous of you thanks

very much Sheriff we'll meet you at

North Fork in the

morning

head over and tell the men to be careful

with their fire I'll be riding with a

herd

in a hurry to reach the Outlaws aren't

you don't look like he's to do us much

good we'll find a way to use

[Music]

him you're all ready Chef let's go bring

them

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

on

[Music]

[Music]

hold it arrest these men they're

fugitives fugitives only because you

arranged it that way but you can clear

that up for us blackton you're all

washed

up you'll all swing for this you slipped

up when you figured on Finley getting

through to your gang

I can't account for all my men you might

as well quit bluffing

laivi we're giving you a chance to talk

blackton before it's too late what

Finley does is his business you're

pretty smart blackton you murdered my

father and let Tucson take the blame for

it now let's say you get out of your own

trap we're going on the herd blackton

and you're going with us sooner or later

that gang of yours will attack when they

do you'll be out in front to get yours

you know it's seldom a herd gets through

the Riders are shot down slaughtered in

Cold

Blood this time you're going to be one

of

them

[Music]

big heard moving up the

trail come on get a move on

[Music]

[Applause]

you take your positions and wait for a

[Music]

signal

[Music]

we're getting close blackton You' still

got a

chance you better start talking you make

a swell

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

[Applause]

Target

[Music]

[Music]

we're getting into the gorge blackton

that's where your men usually run their

attacks

you're going to ride out in front go

[Music]

ahead no false moves you're

[Music]

covered don't shoot it's me

blackton hold

it

there's something wrong it's

blackton that's all we wanted to know

call him

down it's all right talet come on

[Music]

down

[Music]

[Music]

it's a trap let him have

[Music]

[Music]

it

[Music]

[Music]

n

[Music]

a

say listen brother I've thought this

whole thing over I'll tell you what I'm

going to do I'll take this shop off your

hand for

$200 you drive a hard bargain Mister but

I ain't a man to go back home work

here's the shop and here's the

[Music]

$200

[Music]

boy did I put one over on him what a

sucker he is he took the shop and all I

did was give him $200 you gave him

what

[Music]

$200

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

la
