matter when and no matter what the cost

for twenty years all chemical has poured

their toxic wastes into a reserve and

listened whether we are killed by right

knees or by the poisons in the water in

the earth it's still murder my people

David Willis arrives to conduct the

final phase of his investigation into

industrial pollution here at the reserve

how do you think this Willis

Commission's gonna make any difference

he's been to many commissions already

now only the actions of a war you can

make a difference okay nice good

be ready

to respect it after all we're only

guests here yes sir Center

what's going on here what is this some

kind of a cheap publicity stunt party

senator I'm arresting you in the name of

the native people of getting Adame

no no appearing in person is absolutely

out of the question

can you imagine throwing a 3000 franc

dinner in my honor that's ridiculous

just exactly how much of that money do

you think will ever reach the AIDS

project

well almost 50% now why don't we get the

same people to make a 3000 franc

donation directly you know it doesn't

work that way people want to meet you

they want to be seen in your company got

to show the world how much money they're

spending well that too alright here's a

donation oh this is very generous mr.

it's not generous at all just happen to

believe in it exactly how many

committees did you work on with my wife

Oh actually this hotel only two but now

I'm involved in less expensive if we

didn't elaborate Thank You mr. attic

I love my garden and I spend as much

time out here as I can so I don't spend

a lot of time online or indoors for that

matter we'd heard about high-speed

Internet but we just weren't convinced

it was right for us first we thought

it'd cost too much it's actually about

the same price as our dial-up get Rogers

Yahoo high-speed Internet from as low as

nineteen ninety-five a month call one

eight six six five six seven eight one

six five today we worried about

installation hassles but getting it

installed was a breeze we got great

advice on choosing what suited us best

and we even got free protection for our

computer

now we don't have to worry about things

like viruses or spam they used to be a

lunch made when I was a kid these days

when we're online it's so much easier to

bank shop or send email because it's

simply faster now friends can reach us

even when we're online Jeff Rogers Yahoo

high speed internet with free Norton

AntiVirus call one eight six six five

six seven eight one sixty five today if

we've known it would be this easy we

would have done it a lot sooner they

want me and gonna get dodgy as the

go-between I'm the only one Hawk will

allow in the reserve

Barney's damn right will he listen to

you I don't know I've known him since he

was a boy he's young idealistic

charismatic put himself through law

school and returned to the reserve when

his brother got sick

his brother was chief Worsley yes but he

died Hawk was the logical successor he's

not a bad man Alex he's he's not

bloodthirsty he sounds pretty

bloodthirsty to me he's holding a United

States Senator against his will I'm not

defending his actions on the contrary

I've worked too hard to allow us some

idea list to set back native

self-determination another generation

yeah

now what do you want me to do the

reserve is a jurisdictional nightmare it

straddles the border between the United

States and Canada right now both

countries are gathering their forces and

you need time and your influence on both

sides to stop them from triggering what

could become a bloody massacre of

innocent people you know what can happen

when so many agencies are involved yeah

only two well there's someone I want you

to meet get me Peter Sinclair wait I

would never pictured Alexander an

excessive woodsman yes he used to handle

a canoe like one of us did a lot of

whitewater together a long time ago

around James Bay interesting it's more

of a sailor myself yes in a kidnapping

and hostage-taking Scotland Yard

we'll need both those skills in this

matter well you've certainly been honing

yours over the years tracted legal

negotiations Bureau of Indian Affairs

don't remind me just thinking about it

gives me a migraine the more the

politician has become involved the more

serious the situation will be common

he'd tell me about Hulk he's not an

irrational terrorist he's a passionate

man who cares about our people and he

realizes the situation balances on a

Razors Edge does he have the support of

the reserve but true leader can always

tap the anger within his people let's

hope he doesn't become a martyr in the

process do you have a plan to prevent

that from happening yes I do

but the reserve is private property

ma'am we don't have the authority to let

you in or keep you up at this point it's

up to them well then you can't keep me

from trying and we won't stop you but

they've been turning back reporters all

day they haven't let one in yet not even

the pretty ones I've always thought it

was more effective to be persuasive than

pretty wish me good luck Indian lover

go back no one's allowed I'm press well

we're sure you have amazing credentials

there darling but we got all the press

they need right here they just told me

that no press has been living that's

right because they got me how did he get

him they say I got a nose for news

you're wrong Smith that's right honey

listen I'll tell you what leave me your

name and number I'll give you a call

you're the biggest scoop of your career

when I got out of here does that uh No

just keep her gun like that that's good

this fighting yes sometimes I think they

died just to get out as polluted you

know bad here huh yeah I remember when

you could eat these guys but now I just

throw them back yeah Oh beer do you mind

yeah go ahead

Thanks you're here for the mentions well

are you here for the fishing the one

thing you can count on is where there's

any ins there's trouble I think they're

responsible for all this well let's put

this way they've got a lot to account

for say you recycling no I just throw it

back in the lake I can't do much harm

all right listen I'll check you out

later okay buddy

so you didn't get through the barricade

huh how did you guess and have a

bulldozer with you judging by what I saw

you won't be the only one who won't get

through these people well the Indians

can't maintain a patrol along the whole

border they don't have to just key

access ant the reserve is bordered by

water the other half take a Navy SEAL to

get through hi sir did you find out what

side the locals are on general Custer's

and it's I I

it's a nice frame I got the flag got

everything all right hock tell us what

your next moves gonna be we want three

things sovereignty the return of our

lands and restitution for damage done by

all chemical okay cut cut cut cut it's

good it's good

something is Geno's knocked right this

way okay

the man's sovereignty demand return of

your lands demand full restitution by

this chemical company I mean that's

gonna work much much much better I mean

we're talking about destiny and here

people here what's the matter got a

problem mr. Smith I find your help with

my presentation invaluable but the

destiny of the Indians will be decided

by the Indians whoa I'm just a filmmaker

you're the man of action but you have to

understand how to use it

don't try another one just think what

I'm saying

okay okay same thing

ready ankle weird Amanda three things

sovereignty return of our lands and

restitution for damage done by law

chemical

he's arranging the time for our first

meeting for once my press credentials

didn't work they didn't let any press

past the baggage well he does have the

unique ability to get his camera right

where the action is Smith thinks his the

next Peter on it yes sir

could you run a check on Smith it's

probably just not portunus we're going

to entrust that into the capable hands

of mr. stone right right

all right now I want you to check with

me every few hours

don't worry stone just make sure you've

got me covered that's the least of your

worries

vo one I want to speak to hug

we'll bring our supplies for here he

found her half a mouth and a barricades

says she's a journalist it's only my ID

Gabriella's your mo oh wow

she told me who you were at the

barricades I can't say I didn't try

who is she who is she this is a

world-famous photojournalist right here

this is really an honor

so is this reserved or next so we don't

there are certain similarities I have

come to see for myself if you'll let me

we have all the press coverage we need

one journalist doesn't make for balance

reporting besides nothing challenges me

more than being excluded you know my

work let me tell your story in my way

actually hawk she may had a perspective

you may need later how did you get into

the village I'm very resourceful

all right you may stay thank you I would

like to be interview in the senator as

soon as possible not tonight

I'll see please find some room from this

is your mo good luck I'm sure you want

to regret this I think you'll be

comfortable here and do fine thank you I

would like to talk with you if I may

what's your connection with the movement

Hawk is my brother-in-law Oh your

husband is one of the Warriors my

husband was chief he's dead I'm sorry

I'm sorry too

he died of cancer because of the poison

that al Camco dumped into the water and

onto our land I understand your anger

but you'll be considered a terrorist we

tried it your way we've gone to court

and signed petitions have been studied

to death nothing has changed

the senator is a lot more useful to us

as a hostage and his report would be

what if this strategy fails from now on

at least we will control what happens to

us that is the only hope for our

children and our children's children

hey st. John st. John for the people

let's fire it up only st. John mr.

Sinclair is my associate nothing happens

unless he's allowed in with me King John

got some widow

Zini

your fly's undone gotcha

very funny whatever you do don't look

around

alright I'm up in the trees to the hill

on your right your timing is impeccable

tell you what next time around filled

back up you do it mosquito season see

how you like good that means we got

everybody in here now I've been able

locate the senator but after Hawk says

all right climb over yeah what

everything's gonna be just fine it's

been a great pleasure talking to you

you must know that neither government

will negotiate until you put down your

guns and surrender the senator well the

very fact that you are here indicates

that they will isn't that right mr. st.

Claire oke we are simply here to listen

to what you have to say but you must

understand that your actions have done

nothing to strengthen your case it may

not strengthen my case mr. st. Claire

but at least they got your attention

obviously you realize that kidnapping

makes your legal position untenable the

situation of the native people has gone

beyond law and lawyers what do you hope

to achieve by van's what we were

promised an end to the rape and

destruction of our land while there's

still something left to cherish and

restore that's what all the people want

hug but not this way my brother endured

your endless conferences what has it

gotten him or my people they are still

suffering now still dying now and so

will your people unless they negotiate

with the senator at the point of a gun

mark my words hawk if you hurt him the

tanks will roll over you if a warrior

should die freeing his people it is at

least an honorable death

mr. president fear all I'm asking for

Sarah's is a little more time if you

send the garden I'm afraid it'll

escalate everything yes sir

yes I'll call you tonight sir thank you

it's the Canadian Minister of Indian

Affairs online sweep mr. Minister thank

you for calling back

yes I appreciate your honor but I was

hoping to convince you to delay that

action as hi I appreciate your position

well even that would help yes I do

believe we can defuse this situation

thank you sir

I'll tell the president

are you alright I'm starting do you know

yes Oh Bennet sir where's that

information on that fella Smith there is

a delay sir we requested that hours ago

well I'm afraid there is a problem sir I

think I know what's coming and I don't

want to hear it again

apparently the agency's computers had

turned down yes sir yes

take a couple of these I suffer from

migraine - this is exactly what I fear

neither side is learning to budge an

inch

yeah it's part of the course but it's

gonna have to keep talking although with

nothing to say shouldn't be too hard for

a lawyer yes sir he's prepared to set up

a Royal Commission to address all

grievances and he says he will guarantee

amnesty as long as the senator is

released unharmed great well at least

that's something to go on but then it'll

be cowboys and Indians oh no you're not

cleared to go to the barricades I'd

begin I was happy

yes I guess you would be

what's happening out there huh can't you

guess senator now there's still time to

rectify this thing I don't think so

the Canadians have set up barricades on

their side of the reserve and the

Americans the same it's only a matter of

time till they make a move on you well

that move will affect you too senator

I'm one man I shudder to think what will

happen to your people so do I then do

something about it I've tried to do

something about it you've tried to do

something about it

my people are still dying senator now

it's time for their slow dying to stop

if your people want to kill us do it out

in the open so the whole world can see

you really mean it don't you

can i phone my wife I'll make the

arrangements

look at that ain't good looking you can

warm up my cup don't pay any attention

to that guy LC okay relax will you

ah breaking yeah maybe we could work out

a piece of treaty northern LC just

between the two of us

hey gorgeous yeah you squawk where's

your brave [ __ ] huh No

someone should shut him up I've been in

the Fed Alliance before miss Gemma not

certain whoa hey cutie I knew you'd find

me here calm down miss you killed him

just stop right where you are oh damn I

said halt right there or I'll shoot

that's what you do best white men do it

hold your fire

Chuck Connors is a rifleman weekdays on

Lone Star have you ever wondered how

you'd feel if you found out you had

cancer now imagine if you're a seven

year old

it's like having

somebody put fire on your back and leave

it there

scariest thing about having cancer is

knowing you're gonna choose the path of

the life or death all right I didn't

make a choice I just prayed to God that

I chose the path of life

was a very simple thing that you can do

to help these children it's called the

miracle club and we need you to call and

food health energy the environment these

are exciting times agriculture is the

backbone of a growing industry and a

strong and healthy Canada

find Farm Credit Canada

advancing the business of agriculture

since our firing down the Canadian line

who the hell we got Elsa

yeah Peter I think I may have found

Willis we better step things up to talk

to me there's some gunshots up at the

barricade I can't confirm any hits he's

getting very tense up here Johnson Kenny

what he said I can get him out

they'll pay for this Elsa's oh cool your

blood was spilled by their bullets her

blood was spilled interfere if your

stride back this would be just the

beginning we have to take a stand you

already have but you must realize that

all eyes are in your head

actually you're free to leave whenever

you choose to miss Jermel Smith why

don't you do something like what dr.

Hawke he missed it we need to go before

the situation gets out of control this

is not my fight this is not my land

these are not my people they're his your

documentary will have a very tragic

ending if you don't do something well

what can I do I don't pretend that I can

change history mister my simply recorded

as far as I can see this guy's got his

history down pat he's right his people

have been overlooked for over two

centuries they've been bullied they've

been abused been completely neglected

maybe he just can't take it anymore

and frankly I don't blame the man

Peter I got some news for you the center

trailer

yes sir yes sir I'll call you right back

look what the hell is going on the Prime

Minister just called me about the

shooting at the barricades well that's

not the point

I mean those gunshots have made this a

whole new game probably more accurate to

ask which army will move first they're

even questioning whether Willis is alive

or not what's the status on him we're -

damn it we're in an awful mess here

there was draw they offer of amnesty and

the royal commission they're looking for

any excuse just to press the button

Peter very hot they're beefing up the

barricades and the Indians are

patrolling their turf very closely

I'm on the move

not yet

been searching this place all night they

have men in trailer could be moving them

every hour on the hour for all we know

you should have a doctor look at that I

have a good poultice it'll be all right

where is huck on the barricades the

authorities are liable to use their

force any minute to free the senator you

know that don't you you cannot change

that listen to me there are people

talking on your behalf they want to

prevent the bloodshed but they need your

help I will not betray my people you

don't have to do that just convince hawk

to let me see Willy's and take a picture

of him what good will that do they need

to prove that we Lisa still alive in a

well do you know where will he stays

right now you must take me to him it's

that people will not think that he's

dead I'll try

yes ma'am I'll set the dog noon you got

leader a Joint Commission on sovereignty

would advance all First Nations I must

think of my people first your people

if you don't pick it up quickly it'll

slip away and you'll all go to jail we

are revolutionaries not criminals

what about our demands working on them

it takes time to arrange different

factors interests its we know you're

serious hope will stay here until we can

find something we can live with it

st. Clair

something to take back to the work in

the other hand if you don't we're at an

impasse again we'll be here for another

according to this facts you've issued an

ultimatum you've declared war on the

Americans and the Canadians this is

madness I didn't write this

it seems your friend Smith has a

different agenda let's go

trouble objects at the barricades I can

watch the guy okay

excuse me

oh it's only you a minute I thought was

one of those Indians you know I got rid

of those Indians I sent off your

communicate like you wanted but what

about the dam that's a blow in about

five minutes sir it's not cutting it

kind of close less time less evidence
