until morning would be fatal,

self-destruction is the obvious conclusion.

But I have no reason to kill myself.

I dream that a woman comes through
my window, dripping wet.

As if she's just risen out of the sea.

Is this woman anybody

No. She looks like a woman
from some other time.

And she seems to be a part of the fog
that drifts through the window.

- What does she do in your dream?
- She just crosses to the door...

...and as she leaves, she turns
and beckons me to follow her.

It didn't make any impression
on me the first time,

but when the dream kept coming
back night after night,

I began to get the feeling that I wanted
to follow her into the ocean.

- I think I'm going insane.

At Rocky Point. I have a home
overlooking the ocean.

Oh yes. Yes, I know the place.
Very beautiful.

My sister and other relatives
live with me and besides,

I'm always having friends

with some heavy object.

his breathing and all that.

It was amazingly realistic.

They always are,
while you're dreaming them.

Well, the peculiar thing is
the man was Raymond Shields.

Yet I'd never seen him before.

It's strange that you should be
the one to find him on the beach.

Well, I don't think so. You see,
I was looking for him.

of an appetite, Mr. Hilton.

I don't see how any of you can eat
after such a tragedy.

You see, Shields was Hilton's partner.
They were just like father and son.

I was devoted to Mr. Shields.
