[The Night is Still Young]

[Episode 25]

Imperial physician.

Imperial physician!

Imperial physician!

Imperial physician!

Imperial physician!

Wait.

You helped me.

Why did you help me?

Who are you really?

[Yang-depleting powder]

Crown Princess, you have misunderstood.

I'm only here to look after you on the Crown Prince's orders.

Ye Mingxuan clearly had ill intentions towards me.

Why don't you admit that you helped me?

It's really you.

Ye Beichen.

It's really you.

You're still alive.

I knew

the arrowhead would keep you alive.

♫Who inquires amidst the dim lights♫

Great!

♫These stars that fill the sky♫

♫The fate of love and hate, separation and union♫

♫Blame the depth of our love♫

♫Meeting you feels like encountering an old friend♫

♫As if in a past life, passing by the door♫

Crown Princess,

Ye Beichen is already dead.

♫The past is hard to keep, attachment leaves no trace♫

The one standing before you now

is the Sorcerer King, Ji Wuming.

♫How can I join you in this life?♫

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

At that time, I could only take a gamble,

♫If the soul doesn't cross, if the person doesn't return♫

betting on that arrowhead

to save your life like it did in the previous life.

♫Could you lend me the rise and fall of the next life?♫

Perhaps it was the only way to truly save you.

I'm sorry.

♫If fate protects us♫

But I'm really happy.

♫In the midst of heavy snow♫

I'm truly glad you're still alive.

Really.

♫Eternal love through the ages♫

Thank you.

Thank you for still being alive.

♫If love does not fail♫

♫In the depths of blooming flowers♫

In the previous and present lives,

♫Accompany you to the twilight years♫

you can shoot and kill a person twice.

♫If one life and one death are our destiny♫

Even if there's a deep blood feud between us,

it should be settled completely.

You should be happy.

♫Who inquires amidst the dim lights♫

♫These stars that fill the sky♫

Ye Beichen.

♫The fate of love and hate, separation and union♫

Anyway,

♫Blame the depth of our love♫

as long as you're alive, that's all that matters.

♫Meeting you feels like encountering an old friend♫

Losers!

A bunch of useless losers!

Crown Prince, please calm your anger.

Your royal health is of utmost importance.

I can't even be a man now.

Of what use is my health?

Crown Prince, your illness came about far too strangely.

I believe there must be hidden circumstances.

There's something fishy about the incense.

I'll investigate it immediately.

Crown Prince,

the Emperor's fingers moved. He might wake up.

What's going on here?

How did Father start to improve?

This was intentionally done by me.

You'd better explain yourself clearly.

You went to great lengths to find me.

If we don't let the Emperor show some improvement,

how can we silence the rumors?

First, let the Emperor show some improvement,

then let him be beyond medical help.

This is the true meaning of the last flicker before the flame dies out.

My lady, it really is His Highness?

My lady,

why is His Highness helping the Crown Prince

to harm the Emperor?

He must be planning something.

The Sorcerer King is no longer of one mind with me.

We can't keep him any longer.

But the Sorcerer King is skilled in using poisons,

and he's a great fighter, too.

It might not be easy to kill him.

Then, we'll strike him decisively

when he's off guard.

Keep a close eye on him now.

Yes.

Ye Mingxuan is now suspicious.

And there's no time to notify Ye Beichen.

Even if Ye Beichen escapes today,

he will still be in danger.

Sorcerer King, thanks to you today,

my great cause will soon be accomplished.

I'll drink first as a toast.

Although this wine is good,

it's still brewed from mundane ingredients.

I fear it might affect my cultivation.

I happen to have brought a wine.

It is called Drunken Immortal Wine.

It's brewed with the essence of the five elements.

It's particularly helpful for balancing the body and mind.

I've brought it specially to share with you, Crown Prince.

I also hope your great cause succeeds soon.

Fine wine paired with delicious food.

This meat is the tenderest cut from the cow's back.

It's most suitable for you to eat, Sorcerer King.

Indeed, it's premium beef.

But unfortunately,

it conflicts with my immortal elixir.

I'm not fortunate enough to enjoy it.

I clearly didn't touch any of his food or drink.

How could this be?

Crown Prince,

this is the Numbing Immortal Grass

I had people find from foreign lands.

Once someone gets close,

its fragrance can make one dizzy and weak.

Given Ji Wuming's cunning nature,

he will definitely have guessed that today's banquet is a trap.

He definitely won't touch any food or drink.

So, I'll do the opposite.

I'll put the antidote to this poisonous grass in the food and drink.

When he smells the poisonous grass and is unable to defend himself…

Your Highness,

I can't hold my liquor well.

I'm feeling a bit unwell.

I'll retire to rest first.

Alright.

Crown Prince!

Protect the Crown Prince!

Seal off the garden exits!

Don't let anyone escape!

Yes!

-Crown Prince. -Yes!

The palace is in an uproar.

What happened?

We are acting on orders.

Please forgive us, Miss Shangguan.

You two, go over there.

Yes, sir.

You two, come with me.

-Yes, sir! -Yes, sir!

Ye Beichen,

are you trying to keep me out of it

and deal with Ye Mingxuan alone?

After coming back, you went to great lengths

just to have Ye Mingxuan send me out of the palace.

You clearly wanted me to

leave this place of trouble

to avoid danger.

I just don't want your rash actions

to ruin my plans.

Since you already have a plan,

you should tell me about it.

I'm more familiar with the current situation.

I can surely help you in some way.

Is that so?

To me, you are

just a useless nuisance.

Ye Beichen,

you can't fool me,

nor can you fool your own heart.

Don't even think about facing danger alone

and leaving me out of it.

♫The night is still young, I will not betray the people♫

♫Nor will I betray her♫

♫This empty city is so regrettable without you♫

We are bound together in life and death.

If anything really happens to you,

♫Even if the skies fall♫

I won't live on alone in this world.

♫Covering my eyes♫

♫In the next life, no more separations♫

You disguised yourself as the Sorcerer King to get close to Ye Mingxuan.

Haven't you thought that you might be in danger

if you were exposed?

So what if I'm in danger?

Eliminating traitors

is my duty.

You still haven't told me

how you became the Sorcerer King.

[Half a month ago]

Your Highness,

I have investigated the situation.

Ye Mingxuan has sent people to contact Ji Wuming multiple times,

inviting him to the palace to treat the Emperor's illness.

Who is this Ji Wuming?

He's skilled in astrology and divination

and knows quite a bit about unorthodox practices.

He's known as the Sorcerer King.

I want to meet this Ji Wuming.

What's your relationship with Ye Mingxuan?

I once saved his life

and taught him martial arts for self-protection.

Why did he summon you to the palace?

Speak!

The Emperor...

The Emperor is in a coma.

He wants to use me

to quietly make the Emperor pass away.

That's all I know.

Please spare my life.

You used human blood for your cultivation.

You deserve death.

I'm sorry.

I hurt you.

I'm sorry.

I knew…

you did that to protect me.

That day, when I received the news,

I immediately rushed to the Lantern Tower,

but I was still one step behind Ye Mingxuan.

[Shaobing]

At that time, I was afraid that any rash move

might put you in danger.

Even though it was minimal,

I still received

a certain message from your eyes.

So, I firmly believed

that your arrow

would only hit the arrowhead on my chest.

So, I went along with the plan

and took the opportunity to fake my death.

I used a death row inmate's body to make a clean escape

and planned for the long term.

When Ye Mingxuan let his guard down,

I will then devise a plan to capture him.

So, you didn't reveal your identity to me,

and you even asked Ye Mingxuan to eliminate me.

It was because you were worried that exposing yourself

might make Ye Mingxuan harm me?

Ye Mingxuan and Ji Wuming are close friends.

I must be extremely cautious.

But he's very suspicious.

Now that the Emperor has just shown signs of improvement,

he no longer trusts you.

Tonight's banquet

is his attempt to eliminate you.

Don't worry.

He can't kill me with his abilities.

But now, the Eastern Palace is full of dangers.

You must leave the palace as soon as possible.

I don't understand what you're thinking

or what you want to do.

This is the real danger.

If you don't want me to be in danger again,

then tell me your plans.

Your Highness, you still need to rest well.

I take my leave.

Your Highness,

we've searched the entire palace

but couldn't find him.

It seems the Sorcerer King was prepared.

Ji Wuming!

Send everyone out.

I must have his life.

Yes.

I have been investigating this matter for a long time

before finally figuring it out.

When you entered the Emperor's bedchamber,

did you find anything?

I discovered that

the Emperor is in a coma

because Ye Mingxuan

inserted soul-breaking needles

into all the major acupoints all over his body.

Moreover, near the bedchamber,

he set up multiple barriers

and traps.

Rushing in recklessly

would only harm the Emperor.

So,

our current plan

should be to rescue the Emperor first,

then deal with Ye Mingxuan.

Correct.

After the Emperor wakes up,

I will issue an edict to arrest Ye Mingxuan.

Executing a rebellious prince

won't affect the foundation of Great Ye.

If the Emperor passes away,

Ye Mingxuan will legitimately inherit the throne.

Trying to take him down then

would surely cause a great upheaval.

I fear the people would be in fear,

and the empire of the Great Ye would be on the verge of collapse.

I'll rescue the Emperor with you.

There's no need.

I have my own plans for this matter.

This matter concerns not only our safety,

but also the Great Ye's future.

No matter how dangerous it is,

I will stand with you through it all.

Weiyang.

Crown Prince,

we've received an urgent report from 800 li away.

Go ahead!

The body of Ji Wuming, the Sorcerer King, has been found.

He's been killed for several days.

It seems someone deliberately impersonated the Sorcerer King,

intending to cause trouble right under your nose.

If Your Highness wishes to keep Miss Shangguan,

you must send her out of the palace.

Ye Beichen!
