[The Night is Still Young]

[Episode 23]

I have recently caught a cold.

I shouldn't eat too much sweet food.

How about

you eat it first?

Don't waste it.

My lady,

you plan to poison the Crown Prince with osmanthus cake?

These are just ordinary osmanthus cake ingredients.

If I want to take Ye Mingxuan's life,

I mustn't be too hasty.

I must first gain his trust.

Weiyang, I was wrong.

What's wrong?

Did you burn your hand?

It's fine.

Mingxuan,

I never thought

that one day

we would become like this.

Weiyang,

please don't misunderstand.

I don't blame you.

All that have happened

might be fate's doing.

We are destined to be a fleeting love.

Weiyang, Weiyang!

Weiyang.

Weiyang.

I ate the osmanthus cake.

It's exactly like the one my mother used to make.

You must have put a lot of effort into it.

And I made you sad.

It's all my fault.

It's just some osmanthus cakes.

Crown Prince, please don't say such things.

Weiyang,

there are many misunderstandings between us.

But whether you believe it or not,

my true feelings for you

have never changed.

Since now I'm the Crown Prince,

I shall make you the Crown Princess

to show my sincerity.

No.

I was once betrothed to another.

I can't bear the title of Crown Princess.

I think you can.

You can definitely do it.

I have made up my mind

to make you the Crown Princess.

Mingxuan.

Weiyang.

You are truly beautiful.

Mingxuan,

this is osmanthus wine I brewed myself.

Why don't you try it first?

Sounds good.

I never thought

I would have the chance to marry you as your consort in this life.

I'll drink this one first.

This is a toast to you.

May your prestige grow day by day,

and may we grow old together.

Weiyang,

I have waited for this day

for far too long.

I promise you,

I will soon choose an auspicious date to make you my consort,

and welcome you into the Eastern Palace.

The two of us

being able to come this far

is something I never expected either.

I'll do as you say.

Weiyang,

I remember you never wear armor,

finding it troublesome, right?

Your Highness,

the Sorcerer King has arrived.

Mingxuan, what's going on?

The Sorcerer King has come from afar.

I should personally go to welcome him.

Sorcerer King,

I've been waiting for you for a long time.

Father has been gravely ill for many days.

I can't do anything about it.

Please help with your powers.

I observed the stars all night,

seeing the Lagerstroemia Star covered by clouds,

and the Left and Right Assistant stars shining brightly.

Thus, I knew that His Majesty's health's failing

and state affairs have fallen on the Crown Prince's shoulders.

When you sent me a message,

I was already on my way.

Sorcerer King, you're truly a divine being.

Please lead the way.

Let me first examine His Majesty's condition.

Please.

Who exactly is this Sorcerer King?

After Father fell into a coma,

the court officials and princes

have been suspicious of me.

They invited many famous doctors to treat Father,

but most of them were unsuccessful.

Sorcerer King, you are a legendary doctor.

If even you cannot cure Father,

it will silence the gossip throughout the realm.

His Majesty needs to rest quietly.

I have issued an edict.

Without my written order,

no one is allowed to enter the palace.

Don't bother looking for them.

I've hidden them well.

If anyone dares to intrude here,

they will surely die without a trace.

Your Highness is indeed meticulous.

However, Sorcerer King,

I wonder about Father...

No need for further words.

Whether His Majesty is ill or poisoned,

you know better than I do.

You could guess my thoughts

from thousands of miles away.

Then I shall not conceal it anymore.

I wonder if you have a way to make Father

pass away unsuspectedly

under the name of treatment,

so that I can ascend the throne according to ancestral customs.

If I help you,

it would be against the entire world.

When I was once trapped in Miao territory,

I was fortunate to receive extraordinary skills from you.

I promise you

that as long as I ascend to the throne,

I will appoint you as the Imperial Advisor of Great Ye,

making Sorcery Cult the supreme religion in the world.

This is the world's finest mechanism.

The trigger point changes each time.

Whoever dares to approach the imperial bed,

intending to rescue His Majesty,

will surely trigger the mechanism

and be killed by a hail of arrows.

But rest assured,

I've just deactivated the mechanism.

It's safe now.

His Majesty is already on his last breath.

I will set up an array in the palace.

Within seven days,

His Majesty will return to heaven.

By then, people will only think that His Majesty's time has come.

They won't detect even the slightest flaw.

I've heard that this Sorcerer King is proficient in medicine, divination, and astrology.

I've also heard

that his medical skills are extraordinary,

bringing the dead back to life and healing the most severe wounds.

He was specially invited by the Crown Prince to treat His Majesty.

It's not about treatment at all.

Ye Mingxuan deliberately invited Ji Wuming here.

It's actually a conspiracy to harm His Majesty.

My lady, what should we do?

This is just my speculation for now.

We must not act rashly.

Wait until I have more information.

What are you planning to do?

I should be the one asking you that.

I've heard that the Crown Prince wants to make General Shangguan's only daughter

his Crown Princess.

Since you can move freely in the Eastern Palace,

you must be Miss Shangguan.

The Seven-Star Lamp is an evil object used to extend life.

When the lamp goes out, the person dies.

You're here to harm His Majesty.

You know quite a lot, young lady.

But my sorcery has a unique style

and is hard for others to understand.

I don't care what your style is.

Attempting to harm His Majesty

is a capital offense that will lead to your whole family's execution.

I'm afraid you will be disappointed.

I'm the only one left in the Ji family.

I'll kill you right now!

Young lady, you have a fiery temper

and need to cultivate your mind and control yourself.

Let me fix your

problem of being deliberately mystifying.

Weiyang,

why are you here?

What happened?

I just returned to my room

and found Miss Shangguan here uninvited.

She also spilled my cinnabar.

I'd like an explanation from Miss Shangguan.

Mingxuan,

I heard the Sorcerer King can read fortunes.

I wanted him

to help me predict my marriage prospects.

As for spilling the cinnabar,

it was purely accidental.

Weiyang,

does our marriage prospects trouble you so much

that you need to come to

to the Sorcerer King's room late at night to ask about it?

Mingxuan,

after all, my status is different from before.

I often wonder

if I'm truly worthy of the title of Crown Princess.

Sorcerer King,

please select an auspicious date as soon as possible

so that I can formally marry Weiyang.

The sooner, the better.

But this cinnabar

has been ruined by Miss Shangguan.

How am I supposed to proceed?

That's not a problem.

I'll order the Imperial Affairs Department to send more.

This cinnabar is a spiritual item I refined.

It's extremely rare.

I request that Miss Shangguan personally clean it

before I choose an auspicious date.

May I ask, Sorcerer King,

how should this cinnabar be cleaned?

You need to use pure stream water

to rinse the cinnabar 91 times,

and then use a soft, clean white silk cloth

to wipe it until it's spotless.

Only then can it be considered acceptable.

Has the cinnabar been cleaned according to my requirements?

Would you like to try one personally?

If that's the case,

I will now select an auspicious date

for you to marry the Crown Prince as soon as possible.

Please wait outside for good news.

[Reaching the Heavens]

This Sorcerer King always gives me

a sense of familiarity.

Weiyang,

don't worry.

After the Sorcerer King finishes divining,

we can get married soon.

What is he really up to?

Crown Prince,

the Lagerstroemia Star is powerless.

The Left Assistant Star is starting to exert its power.

Do not let the Greedy Wolf Star take advantage

and ruin the favorable situation.

What do you mean by that?

Do you feel any discord in your marriage prospects?

Like the moon reflected in water,

seemingly close at hand,

yet never truly attained.

Sorcerer King, why do you say that?

The Crown Prince is destined by heaven.

The timing and the advantage of the land

both follow the Crown Prince's life.

Only the marriage part is afflicted with malefic forces.

If you marry someone with a gold destiny,

there will be bloodshed.

Shangguan Weiyang has a pure yang and gold destiny.

What a sharp weapon that kills in all directions.

Nonsense!

How could I possibly hinder Mingxuan's affairs?

Yeah.

Weiyang is my future Crown Princess,

sharing the same mind and virtue with me.

Since ancient times, the mandate of heaven cannot be defied,

and the mysteries cannot be unraveled.

If you want to fulfill the mandate of heaven,

Shangguan Weiyang must be killed!
