I love you, and I never forgot about you.

Quasar diamonds!

The only thing that can bring back your family.

I need to see my dad.

Then... I'll know what to do.

I did not come here...

looking for any kind of redemption

or mercy.

I know I don't deserve them.

You want Janai to attack!

And once she does...

you'll call down Sol Regem, and...

they won't stand a chance!

What are you waiting for?

Rain fire and justice down on them!

I was surprised you attended my talk

on advanced fiscal exercises last week.

I'm so glad you find it interesting.

Well, honestly, I misheard and thought the topic was advanced physical exercises.

Ah.

I did not find it interesting.

Huh?

What was that?

Opeli, get down!

Go, go, go, go!

Steady... anticipate.

And... Fire!

Again. Reload!

Get down!

- And... - Stop! Stand down.

- We're done here. - What?

The dragon is blind.

He can't even try to dodge. We're landing our shots.

It won't be enough to take him down before he can breathe fire again.

I want every soldier here to assist with a full evacuation of Katolis!

Get everyone out.

But we must defend the castle!

The castle is just a building. We have to save lives.

You heard the Crownguard! Evacuate the castle!

Go, go, go!

Soren...

Soren, let's go.

No. There's something I have to do.

Take good care of Hat.

What is happening? Who's there?

Soren.

I'm so glad it's you. You're hurt.

What's going on?

- Please, I... - You have to do something.

Katolis is being destroyed!

A huge dragon came out of nowhere, everything is burning.

What?

I... I, I can't fight a dragon.

There's nothing I can do.

You can help the people, you can save them.

What about that spell you did at Lux Aurea?

- Hearts of Cinder. - Yes. Yes!

It protected your soldiers from dragon fire.

No, I... I had a primal stone...

it's different.

You have your other way! Dark magic.

There must be a dark magic way to do that spell.

I can't.

People are dying!

I gave up dark magic.

And even if I did it, the sacrifice...

oh... it's unthinkable.

You have to help them.

The spell requires...

a human heart.

Take my heart.

Help...

Don't worry! I'm coming.

Hearts of cinder...

cannot...

...burn!

It's okay, it's okay, it's okay! Don't be afraid.

The spell doesn't last forever.

The dragon's fire can't hurt us now, but we need to get everyone to safety.

I am a servant.

I am a...

servant.

This is Katolis.

This is where I'm from, Terry... my home.

- Claudia, I... - My dad! I need to find my dad!

Your end is near.

- That voice... - Yes.

It is I, your old friend. What an unhappy reunion.

Before you perish, I wish to thank you.

For years of unwitting service to my cause.

I manipulated you today, just as I have done for centuries.

Don't turn away from me.

Face me, Anak Arow.

Good. Good. You've played your part well.

Would you like a reward? A small mercy, perhaps, before your death?

The mercy of truth.

The answer to the mystery that has haunted you for a thousand years.

What happened to your beloved mate who disappeared?

Tell me, betrayer.

What became of Aithne Solaire?

I should warn you,

sometimes the line between mercy and cruelty can be thin.

Tell me!

It...

was...

you.

You killed her.

Go on, breathe deep.

I know you can smell the truth from a lie,

and this is a deep, dark truth.

In your fury, you buried her...

alive.

No...

No...

Choke on your own pride.

On your arrogance.

So dies the Sun King.

What... What do you see?

Claudia. Claudia, listen to me.

It's him. It's your dad.

- Then I have to... - No! Please! Please don't.

I don't think you should see him like this.

I have to!

I came all this way to see him one last time.

I need him to show me the right path!

This won't give you answers. Only anger. Only pain.

I'm so sorry.

He's gone.

He is gone.

No!

Please, Dad, please don't leave me!

I still need you!

Oh, I have so much to learn from you, Dad, please.

You taught me everything. How to do magic. How to love my family.

You taught me who I am and how to love myself.

You can't be gone. Please. Please, no!

Claudia...

Claudia...

Claudia, I am here.

Oh, that's nice.

Chops.

Ooh, yeah...

Spider party.

Kitty making biscuits.

And crack the egg.

Oh, I feel 300 years of tension melting away.

Huh? That's Phoe-phoe.

Someone approaches.

How many times do I have to tell you, humans can't do magic.

Callum, it's good to see you again.

Layla.

Rayla.

We need your help.

Rayla's parents are trapped in cursed coins,

but with the power of the Moon Nexus,

I can cast a spell that will bring them back

using this!

The Corona of the Heavens, three quasar diamonds.

So, this is a thing again? You two?

Well... yeah.

Yes, it is.

It always was. It was always her.

Well, now, that's odd.

Odd? It's romantic.

No, no, no, no, no. Not you two. That quasar diamond.

Hmm, I'll just have a look.

- Ah! No! No, no, no, no, no! - What are you doing?

Don't break it.

Hmm.

Claudia, your loss is also this world's loss.

A loving father, and a great man.

He was willing to sacrifice anything,

even at the cost of being deeply misunderstood.

I tried so hard to help your father.

But there is still so much we can do.

So much we can set right.

Do you still wish to help me, Claudia?

Her dad just died.

Can't she just take a moment to grieve?

It's okay, Terry.

Yes, I want to help you.

Tell me what to do.

The spell to return a living spirit to a body

requires six simple components.

Blood brings the power of the ocean to create a body.

A feather brings the essence of the sky, giving breath.

A bone marshals the power of the Moon to pull life from death.

Roots tether the body to this world, through the energy of Earth.

A flame sparks the magic of the Sun, awakening life.

And to connect the lost spirit, we need the power of the Stars...

a gemstone made of pure stardust...

we need a quasar diamond.

Whoa, wait a second...

that's more like five simple components and one impossibly rare miracle gem.

Yes, there are only three quasar diamonds in all of Xadia.

Fortunately, I plan for contingencies.

Veritas!

Hmm, those two are the real deal, but this one?

What? No, no, no, no, no. That can't be. It's a quasar diamond.

The celestial elves gave us the corona. They, they couldn't be wrong. It...

- It's just a pretty purple rock. - Lujanne, it's a mineral.

Heh, either way, nothing gets past these old mage's eyes.

And they are such beautiful eyes.

- Oh, Allen. - Oh, no.

Oh, no.

Oh, no!

It's okay, it's okay, we still have the other ones, right?

Don't you see what this means?

Two diamonds and three trapped souls.

- Oh, Rayla. - I can only save two of them.

What's happening? This doesn't seem right.

The spell... it didn't work.
