Hell, no.
Ahh!
Hey, y'all.
It's Flip, the dark prince of pranking.
And I've been summoned here
from your collective nightmares--
to take ordinary people,
people who have it coming to them,
and drop them into frightening scenarios of my own creation.
This time, we've got nightmares--
- Demon! - yoga--
- Everybody down on the ground. - and a seance.
Oh, my God!
That's right. Mind, body, and spirits.
All right, y'all, let's do better by being badder.
This is "Scare Tactics."
Art is subjective.
Now, my art is horror movies.
Joshua here thinks he's the next van Gogh.
So his husband Drew wants to get his creative juices
flowing by taking him to an art exhibit of a legendary painter.
The problem is, Joshua is about to find out
what happens when a tortured artist
comes face to face with his torturer.
It's so haunting.
I just love the infinity.
I never feel safe in the infinite.
I never do.
Good afternoon, welcome.
How are you? Welcome.
Oh, I'm kind of doing a fancy wine and cheese thing.
Would you mind if I grab your coats?
It's all good. I have--I have plenty.
I have a whole closet full of them.
Here. Shorts are fine.
- OK. - Yeah, yeah.
Are you interested in purchasing?
Do you have a collection?
We do have some art, yeah.
My grandfather was an artist and a sculptor, so...
Oh, that's nice.
And then this one, he likes to paint.
That's amazing.
You know much about Jean Dupont?
I don't know anything.
He's been asking me the whole time.
You're in for a treat.
This is Jean Dupont, the artist that we're showing today.
Jean Dupont hasn't shown work in about eight years.
And he has refused to display new works until he's perfectly
captured the face of the demon
that he's been seeing in his dreams.
It's going to be a momentous night.
Yeah.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you so much. Appreciate you.
That was scary.
Mm-hmm.
- Pretty wild stuff, right? - Yeah, right?
Yeah.
Kind of looks like you a little bit
with the facial hair.
Yeah.
Mm.
Jean Dupont might be our generation's Picasso.
Once again, he's got the little--
Yeah, this is the demon too?
Everything's the demon.
- That one's kind of cool. - Mm-hmm.
I feel like over time, he's been getting
slowly more and more literal in a way, right?
- I'm--you know, I'm not sure. - Yeah.
Over the years, each incarnation
of the face that he's been haunted by,
the face is becoming clearer.
Everyone, I have a special announcement.
We are moments away from introducing Jean Dupont.
He's very shy.
He hasn't been in public in eight years.
So I just want to make sure that we are
a warm and welcoming audience for him.
Mr. Dupont?
A little over eight years ago,
for those of you who don't know,
I woke up from a nightmare,
a vision of a demon with a human's face.
But the face wouldn't really stay in my head
long enough to get it right.
Haunting is the right word, what it did to me, to my soul.
Because it became something of an obsession.
My wife left me.
The kids haven't talked to me in five years.
Very recently, I've been able to hold it in my head
long enough to get it down.
It captures the thing I've been trying to get out of me
for eight years.
And so, without further ado--
I'm nerv--it makes me nervous.
All right.
Thank you, thank you.
My sincerest hope by purging this onto the canvas
is that I never see this face again.
Yeah.
But in cleansing myself of it--
I gotta say,
you look...
a lot like what's going on here.
It's bother--it's kind of freaking me out, man.
Yeah.
Uh, mm.
Why are you doing this to me?
I'm afraid to look at you, man.
I'm afraid to look at you. - All right.
Am I imagining it?
Am I having a psychotic episode?
Do I need to leave the room?
I'm just--am I wrong?
Is it just me, or is it you guys too?
Don't look at me!
Don't look at me!
I'm a little freaked out.
Jean?
No.
He's scaring me.
What are you doing here?
Demon!
This is so messed up.
Go back to hell!
How did you get here today?
Did you know that you're on "Scare Tactics"?
Oh, my gosh!
Are you kidding me right now?
Andrew, you-- - Come on.
Oh, my gosh.
You're on "Scare Tactics."
Are you serious?
"Scare Tactics!"
Oh, my gosh.
That freaked me out so much. I was about to cry.
I'm like, why am I up there? Oh, my gosh.
This is my husband. Yeah, so...
Did I ruin our exhibit date night?
Yeah.
Are you ever gonna trust me again?
I'm not sure.
Are you ever gonna look at a painting again?
- Probably not. - I got you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Why wouldn't you want to trick this guy?
I mean, he's so trickable.
The room is open.
Hey, I'm just about to start. - Silence!
Gotta run.
Class hasn't started yet.
My energy is fading.
Remember, you serve me.
OK, got it.
Bring me more students so I can feed on their energy.
Now!
Jesus.
Molly here has a hard time relaxing
and always takes things too seriously.
So her friend Amira wants to help loosen her up.
How about a yoga class?
You know, one with a super strict teacher
who believes her dead partner is talking
to her through a crystal.
Let's see if this will stretch Molly--
Put it down!
to her limits.
Let's just wake up our bodies.
Rah.
Get those wrists nice and warm.
Just to make yourself comfortable.
Welcome.
Just right there is great.
We're gonna take a few moments to breathe,
and then we'll get started.
Welcome.
We have a couple of newcomers,
so we're going to start with name, sign, favorite crystal.
Oh, Amira, I'm a Scorpio.
I guess tourmaline.
Oh, I love a tourmaline.
I'm Molly.
I am a Pisces.
Yay, Pisces. Welcome, Pisces.
I love Pisces, yes.
And rose quartz, because love.
Great. That's so beautiful.
Have you ever done crystal yoga before?
- No. - OK.
Crystal yoga is not a fad.
It's not a new age trend.
It is based in real, grounded science.
And it has a long history.
It was created over four years ago by our founder, George,
in Wichita.
He died.
But we had him cremated, as per his wishes,
and put into this quartz.
So it's going to be a beautiful practice.
I'm going to start the class with some opening chants.
Shan taboola.
And then join me.
Shan taboola.
Shan taboola yama dro.
The new girl isn't taking this seriously.
OK, shh.
Shan taboola yama dro.
Try to be quiet.
OK, so we're going to take a deep breath.
Hand on your diaphragm.
So it's right above your belly.
Is it OK if I touch you? - Yeah.
Right--right there.
And breathe in.
And your hand should lift up. - Sorry I'm late.
Why is that man here again?
He has foul energy.
Don't talk.
OK, let's Cat and Cow.
I know he's late. It's not my fault.
Who is she talking to?
Everybody, we're going to practice something
I call dragon breath.
Emily, could you come up and demonstrate for me?
So it's big breath in when you Cow,
and then as you come out, tongue out, dragon breath.
Ah!
So deep breath in and then Cat out.
all: Ah.
Edgar, OK, widen your hips.
Why don't--why--you--
let me. Give me your feet.
Jesus.
Everybody keep doing your Cat Cows.
all: Ah.
OK, everybody shake it out.
Up again.
And then we'll reverse it.
This man is ruining everything.
He must be punished.
OK, OK, you need to get with the program!
Everybody down on the ground!
Sit down. Sit down.
Everybody reach for your big toes.
Go! - No!
Deeper bend. Deeper bend!
That's better. Yes, keep that energy flowing.
So now we are going to switch to our splits--
into your split.
Splits!
He's fine.
- No, I think he's stuck. - Jesus.
Everybody else, when you're ready
we're going to go to our Wheel Pose.
Edgar, up.
More poses.
- Everybody Bridge Pose. - Faster!
- I know! - More! More!
I know. I know. Stop it.
Edgar, Bridge Pose now!
You're on "Scare Tactics"!
I thought this was a cult. I thought we were going to
yoga, like, you know, a nice getaway.
Out of, like, all my friends she needs a prank.
You do, you need a little bit of light in your life.
OK, I'm sorry, I'm just going to be honest.
I am never trusting you with this stuff ever again.
So are you--but you're really a yoga person, right?
Not even like, a little bit?
Humans crack me up.
Billions of you alive,
but you're all dying to talk to the dead.
Jordan is no exception.
She's always pranking her friend Sarah.
So when Jordan brought up using a medium
to contact her late grandma, Sarah decided to help her out.
Jordan's about to learn that when you open the door
to the other side too wide--
you can't hide.
Hi, how's it going? Welcome.
Hi, I'm Deirdre. - Jordan.
Jordan, nice to meet you, Jordan.
- Nice to meet you. - Hi.
- Hi, Sarah. - Hi, nice to meet you.
- Nice to meet you. - Come on in.
You can have a seat.
All right, where are you coming from today?
LA, but visiting Atlanta.
We're childhood best friends, so she's hanging out.
- Oh, nice. - Yeah.
- This is Skylar. - Hi, there.
- He's my partner. - How are you?
We just want to reassure you that we've trained
with some of the best mediums alive.
And we're also romantic partners.
And how did you two meet?
We actually met through two mutual friends.
- We did. - Yes.
- We did. - Oh, that's so sweet.
- She came pre-approved. - Yes.
So we've got a wonderful space here.
The wonderful Deidre has smudged it for us.
Yes.
And essentially,
I can open up the door to the other side,
the world that we all go to, you know,
when the spirit leaves the body.
The way we kind of like to think about it is,
if you have one medium, that's sort of one antenna
to another world.
And then if you bring another person in, it's two antennae.
So it strengthens that connection.
Right.
We understand that you brought personal objects.
Would you mind if we talked about those?
Jordan, did you have something?
I did.
I brought my grandmother's necklace.
She passed away this year.
It was during, like, a really pivotal time in my life.
And so I've just-- I get, like, really emotional.
She's like my rock growing up.
She was just my best female role model
that I could ever ask for.
Oh, wow.
I'm sensing, I'm feeling so much love.
Mm.
Would you like it if we did
try to communicate with her?
Yeah.
What's the clearest memory you have with her?
- Ooh, uh, Burger King. - Aw.
Yeah, Burger King breakfast.
Excellent.
In that case, let's close our eyes.
See if we can call in that scent of Burger King.
See if we can...
feel this necklace on our fingertips.
Oh. Oh.
Oh, my God.
We have someone here with us.
Do you have anything you'd like to say?
How is she doing?
I mean, how does she feel?
Nana, how are you feeling right now?
I feel her joy and her presence so strongly,
but I'm actually potentially feeling
the presence of something-- - Uh-huh.
or someone else.
I'm a little worried.
It's not Nana.
What have you brought in with you?
both: Good spirits remain.
Evil spirits go back from whence you came.
Oh, my God!
No!
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
No! No!
Will you--can you sit with me, please?
- It's OK. - No, it's not.
Please just sit with me, please.
I'm having a panic attack.
Good spirits remain.
Evil spirits go back from whence you came.
Oh, my God!
No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
Get her, get her, get her, get her, get her.
Make sure she's OK.
Will you--can you sit with me, please?
- It's OK. - No, it's not.
Please just sit with me, please.
I'm having a panic attack. - Hey, I'm right here.
I'm right here. I'm right here.
- Let's hold for a second. - I'm right here.
I'm right here. You're going to be OK.
No, I'm not. What the--
- You're going to be OK. - What are y'all doing?
You're going to be OK. I'm right here with you.
- Please, just stay with me. - Breathe, breathe.
It happens--it happens sometimes, it truly does.
Oh, my God, I'm so embarrassed right now.
- It's OK. - I'm having a panic attack.
- It's OK. - Oh, my God. Oh, my God.
It's OK. Just keep breathing.
- Oh, my God. - Don't forget to breathe.
Deep, deep, deep breaths from the belly.
OK.
If you need to put your head down, if you need to lie down,
it's OK, it's OK.
I'm right here with you. I'm right here.
I got you, Jordan.
This is unfamiliar--
Can I share something with you?
Can I just share something with you?
Please.
You are on "Scare Tactics."
Em, do you mind joining me over here for a quick sec?
First and foremost, I love you.
I'm going to kill you.
You are the most beautiful, wonderful, amazing, smart--
I'm going to kill you--
lovely person I have ever met in my life.
What are you doing?
I love you. You're my movie buddy,
my foodie buddy, my "Avenger" buddy,
and I want you to be my life buddy.
And--
- No. - Em.
Will you marry me?
Are you for real?
I'm for real.
This is completely real.
Am I being pranked?
I'm serious.
I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
I'm having a panic attack.
You were having a fake panic attack.
I'm about to have a real panic attack.
Yes, oh, I forgot to say yes.
Yeah!
Of course.
Whoo!
Oh, my God!
You just got engaged on "Scare Tactics."
Show the camera. Show the camera.
Oh, no!
I can't believe this is my life.
Like, I--I can't believe
that I'm lucky enough to get to be with someone
who would do this for me.
And I feel like everyone else should be jealous
that they're not marrying him, you know what I mean?
I literally said to him a few weeks ago,
propose however you want,
as long as it's not in front of other people.
