[Skate into Love]

[Episode 29]

What's wrong?

What?

What's wrong?

Nothing.

I've known you since we were 6 years old. Do you think I can't tell?

Tang Xue.

Are you scared?

Scared of what?

Scared that I'll get hurt during a game.

How should I say this? Before, I just thought hockey was pretty exciting.

It's fun and interesting.

But since we started dating,

I want you to win and I'm scared for you to lose.

Of course, I'm also scared for you to get hurt. But...

This is the golden shield that is passed down from the Tang ancestors.

With this shield, nothing that flies in the sky, swims in the sea, or runs on the earth can harm you.

As long as you are working hard towards your shining dream, I'm not scared.

I'm more scared of you being a coward and not moving forward.

What is there to be scared of when the two of us are together, right?

Dreams don't shine by themselves.

What shines is us, the ones chasing after our dreams.

Yeah.

Dreams don't shine. What shines is us, the ones chasing them! Let's go!

I'm coming, Old Deng!

Come on!

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

I'm glad you're okay. You've worked hard.

Yubing.

Are you okay?

I'm fine.

Say, Bing-bing seems different recently. He used so much force.

It must be the power of love.

You did well in the offensive training.

Okay.

Have you discussed it with Tang Xue yet?

Just a little.

What did she say?

She didn't say much, but she gave me a golden shield.

[Cafeteria]

Recently, I've practiced all kinds of

ways to skate through the curves.

But why are my scores

only getting worse and not getting better?

That's okay.

My book here talks about this. Let me look for it for you.

They say that the period after a change is the "weak change period."

It says that after you change your methods, your results will get worse for a while.

During this time, you need to endure. A lot of people give up in this period.

I don't get it.

Brother Dajing won another championship.

Wow, let me see.

Wow, he looks so cool with a gold medal.

Master Tang, don't you know him? You can ask him for advice.

With his level, if he gives you any advice, you'll improve tremendously.

That's true.

If a world champion gives me a few pointers...

- Impressive. - It hurts.

Senior,

I've been having some issues with training recently.

I can't seem to go through the curves smoothly.

I want to ask you for advice.

No problem. I can send you a practice video of me going through the curve.

Take a look.

Tang Xue, I'll show you how I do it.

When you are turning, lower the angle and your bum.

Lower your upper body, and keep your inside leg going in the direction of the track.

How was that, Tang Xue? Wasn't I cool?

Good luck. Continue chasing your dream. I hope your dream comes true soon!

- Amazing! Amazing! - Well done.

You're pretty good these days.

Everyone did really well today.

Especially Tang Xue, your curves improved a lot.

And you are faster. Continue maintaining this, you can do it.

That's it for today. Everyone, get off the ice.

Thank you, Coach!

Good job!

How did you do it?

Because Ice God and I think alike.

Ice God?

Li Yubing knows speed skating as well?

Is he the only Ice God?

Who else?

- Show us. - Yeah, show us!

Wow, so cool!

Wow, that turn!

Look how he follows. Wow!

- So cool! - That's so smooth!

- This turn is so cool! - Seriously.

- No wonder. - Super cool.

Wow, that turn.

Wow.

[Challenge yourself. Break through the limit.]

[Best wishes to our XDragons] [in the National College Short Track Speed Skating Championship]

Delicious?

You're going to Beijing to compete soon. Are you nervous?

My dictionary doesn't have the word nervous.

And I've promised my parents. I have to prove myself to them that I can do it.

Okay. I recently have to prepare for the match with Black Scorpions. I can't go to Beijing to watch you. Good luck!

Let's see which of us can do better.

Okay. I heard you improved a lot on your turns. Coach Chu complimented you.

You even know about that?

Look. All these drumsticks are for you as a reward.

- What? - I'll show you.

This is my secret weapon.

Isn't he amazing?

He's okay.

Jealous again? (T/N: lit. you've become a lemon spirit again?)

So much. (T/N: lit. so sour you can't handle it)

I know. You are awesome, too.

He's a world champion. How can I compare to him?

But only you can be my boyfriend.

Well...

Is it dirty?

I saw a tail that was sticking up too high, so I patted it down.

Are you not convinced?

I am.

No...

Yu Yan, how's your training going?

This kid is getting more and more impolite.

Okay, one.

You can do it. One more time.

Hurry, two. One more.

Continue. Continue! Use force! Use–

What's wrong with you? Just a few sets and you can't do anymore?

How can you go on in this condition?

Do you know which team has the most pressure in the whole club?

It's our figure skating team. Do you know why?

Because of you! Because you are the club's only hope of a world champion title.

Li Yubing is popular, but the ice hockey team...

Don't compare me to Li Yubing!

Watch how you're speaking to me.

Isn't what I said the truth?

Did I say anything wrong?

My only competitor is myself.

I don't want to compete with anyone else, no matter who!

Okay.

Anything is okay.

As long as you keep training, and become a champion,

anything is okay.

I don't want to train anymore today.

What did you say? Your training for today isn't—

I said I'm done training.

Old Xu.

[Compilation of Black Scorpions Matches 17-18 Season]

I just got it from somewhere, and it's not useful to me.

Watch it when you have time.

Thank you.

Training for the competition has been tough recently.

Drink up.

It's too oily. I won't drink it.

Smells so good! If it's too oily, I'll drink it for you.

Where's Coach Jin?

I don't know where he went.

The physical exam results for the ice hockey team and short track speed skating team

have no problems.

Oh right, Sister Xia! Can you have Zhang Yuewei come by sometime?

She has an old injury. I want to take another look just to be safe.

Okay, thank you.

- He's here. - Coach Jin, come with me.

I have something to discuss with you.

[Coach's Office]

[Immunity]

Yu Yan is in good physical health. Then his problem is...

Yu Yan's mental state doesn't seem great.

I think it's related to his mental health. [Doctor's notes: has anxiety tendency, suggest seeking a professional]

Have his emotions been unstable recently?

He may be over-exhausted.

I recommend having him go to a professional mental health clinic to get a checkup.

If anything is going on, we should discover it early on so it can be treated,

to minimize the effect on future training and competitions.

Okay. Does Yu Yan know about this?

I didn't want to tell him before it was certain.

I think it's better to check with a specialist first

so that we can make sure of the best way to help him.

Besides, you're already an experienced gold medal coach.

You must know better than me how to handle this.

Not at all. Thank you for letting me know. I'll take care of this.

Okay, I'll get going then.

Xiao Xia, I brewed this soup for a really long time.

How is it? Is it good?

It's not bad.

[Physical Examination Results]

Yuewei, you need to watch out for your old injury. You can't go overboard with training.

Especially since tomorrow, you're leaving with the team to the competition.

Got it.

Rest for a bit, okay?

Earlier, we familiarized ourselves with the competition venue.

Tomorrow, Tang Xue and Zhang Yuewei are competing in the 500-meter race.

Everyone else is competing in the 1000-meter race.

So you need to be extra careful of the competition pace.

Starting now, everyone, rest up and maintain your condition.

Don't do anything else. Just rest and prepare for tomorrow's competition.

- Understand? - Understood.

[National College Short Track Speed Skating Championship]

I just finished practice. What are you up to?

I'm...

missing you.

Do you miss me?

A little.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself for tomorrow's competition.

Just be your usual arrogant self and you'll be fine.

I'm confident I can get in the top three.

I just need to do well enough to persuade my dad to approve of me coming back to short track speed skating.

Okay, get some rest.

Bye-bye.

"Just be your usual arrogant self and you'll be fine. Get s"ome rest.

Shut up! My god.

Bing-bing, since you got a girlfriend, you've forgotten all about your bros.

You don't encourage anyone else.

Do you mean Brother Wei? I already texted her.

Also, with Brother Wei's ability— Old Deng, what do you think?

Zhang Yuewei... The look in Zhang Yuewei's eyes could kill all of her opponents at once.

Goodnight.

Something bad has happened!

Zhang Yuewei, what's wrong with you?

Didn't I tell you that tomorrow was the competition, and not to train anymore today?

Why didn't you listen to me?

Doctor, how is her condition?

She's okay, she just pulled a muscle.

But her old injury's flared up again.

I don't recommend she entering the competition.

I need to compete.

I need to.

Doctor, I'm begging you. Please give me a corticosteroid injection.

This girl is so hard on herself.

Coach, let me compete. I'm begging you.

I can't give up this gold medal.

I need to compete in this competition.

- Doctor, a corticosteroid injection. - Yuewei.

- Please. - Sit down.

I understand how you're feeling.

But if you do this, I can't be responsible for your injury.

If you want to compete,

you need to listen to me. Rest up.

Try to talk some sense into her. Okay?

Yuewei, listen to the doctor. Don't make a fuss.

Would you rather miss one competition, or end your career prematurely?

You're still young, and you have a long road ahead of you.

It's just one gold medal. We can afford to lose out on this one.

It's not just a gold medal.

I know, I know.

Have you ever thought about it? If your grandma were still here, would she let you act out like this?

Think about how hard you've worked.

Are you giving it all up?

I wonder how it's going.

You guys can head back first, I'll wait here.

We don't know how the captain's doing, none of us can sleep anyway.

- Let's wait together. - Yeah, let's wait together.

- Captain, how are you? - Captain, are you okay?

Coach, how's our captain doing?

Are you okay?

Yuewei didn't listen to me and trained without permission. This caused her old injury to flare up.

Tomorrow, she won't be able to compete.

I'm sorry. I was too rash and didn't listen to Coach.

Tomorrow, I won't be able to compete,

but you guys have to do well.

You need to learn from my experience. You cannot be anxious for quick results before a competition. Understand?

Understood.

Captain, don't be sad.

Next year, I'll come back with you to compete again. You'll definitely be able to compete by then.

Yes, we will all be by your side.

- Yes, we're all with you. - You got this, Captain.

Tang Xue, we're counting on you tomorrow.

One way or another, our LUU XDragons needs to have a champion.

Tang Xue, didn't you promise your dad to place in the competition?

It's like Yuewei said.

I hope you don't just place,

I hope you get first place and go for the gold medal.

Good luck.

Good luck.

Okay, it's getting late. Everyone, go and get some rest.

Tomorrow's the competition.

- Captain, take your time. - Go slowly.

Tang Xue.

[National College Short Track Speed Skating Championship]

[Woman's 500 meters Final, Group A]

Go straight ahead from here. All the athletes must have quick reflexes.

Understand? Use your brains. Use more of your brain!

The one in red. Look at it here.

Look. I want this kind of feeling. Understand?

Yes!

All right. Meeting dismissed.

Let's go! Let's go!

Has it started?

It's a pity Wei-wei can't compete this time.

She'll be fine.

I'm here. Has it started?

Here.

Menghuan, this is short track speed skating.

The competition passes in an instant. It's over before you've even opened the snacks.

This is giving it a ritual feeling. Hurry up and eat.

Look, Xiao Xue came out. Look! She's right there.

Lower your voice. Don't get too excited! It's not like you've never seen her compete before.

Keep pretending.

We're live at the National College Short Track Speed Skating Championship.

The first is the women's 500-meters.

All those competing are the top athletes from their universities.

To be honest,

you hope Xiao Xue wins. Right?

Will she win just because I want her to?

It's full. Stop pouring!

Hurry, it's starting now.

The competition is about to begin.

I believe this competition will be very intense. Just by looking at their previous results, they're all evenly matched.

Go to the start.

Ready.

Coach,

are you really confident in me?

What? You are not confident?

I am. Tomorrow will be my home field.

Let me witness your performance.

Why are you third? Come on! Pass her from the inside!

Pass her! Pass.

What is she doing? She has to at least get silver!

Steady!

Pass her!

Tang Xue is awesome!

She made a successful pass. Once again in second place.

Great!

- Not bad. Pretty good. - That was great.

Put on your jacket.

Let's take a look.

Who passed the finish line first?

Who is it?

Congratulations to Tang Xue!

Tang Xue from Lincheng Union University won by barely a quarter of a skate against

Qincheng Technology University's Miao Di. She's the winner. Congrats to Tang Xue!

Congrats to Tang Xue, the winner of this competition.

We hope to see her on the national team.

[Women's 500-meters Final, Group A]

[Wei-wei]

Tang Xue, you did it.

One day, she'll become a world champion.

What qualifications will you have to stand next to her?

Yan-yan,

why aren't you training?

Mom, you were right.

I'm not good enough. I need to work harder.

You're growing up.

Listen to your mom. Pressure is motivation.

I left for just a few days, and look at the place now.

It's so dirty. I'll clean up.

Everyone, we're going back to Lincheng tomorrow.

We did very well this time.

Tang Xue won the 500-meter gold medal.

Hongshuang won the 1000-meter bronze medal.

Your scores have improved by a lot.

Tang Xue, can I see your gold medal?

- I want to see. - Wow, it's a gold medal.

Next time, I'll get a gold medal, too.

You? Forget about it.

Captain, look.

Yuewei.

It's okay, I know what you're going to say.

Don't feel like you took my gold medal.

You did really well today. You deserve this gold medal.

I look up to you. I mean it.

Thank you, Captain!

Tang Xue, you won the gold medal. Who do you want to thank the most?

Of course, it's Mommy Chu. Right?

That's enough from you. I know there's someone else who comes before me.

- Who? - Who?

It's getting late, everyone head back and get some rest.

- We're going home tomorrow! - Let's go.

Captain, be careful.

Mom, did you guys watch the competition?

We did, we did. It's your competition, we must watch it!

I'm so happy I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Where's my dad?

Your dad? Your dad watched it, too. He's pretending to be aloof, I'll show you.

Do you see him?

Do you see?

Have him come and talk for a bit.

Come here, come here. What are you doing? Your daughter wants to talk to you.

Daughter, Dad saw your competition. You skated really well today.

Then... do you support me returning to short track speed skating?

Daughter,

actually, in the past, Dad really just wanted you to

have a peaceful life.

But I was wrong.

I know now.

If short track speed skating is an ocean,

then my daughter is a big ship.

If we don't let the ship leave the harbor just to keep it safe,

the ship loses its meaning.

Xue'er, Mom and Dad's biggest wish

is for you to be happy your entire life,

and to live with a purpose.

We support you.

Look!

Look! Look!

It's so pretty. It suits you so well, my daughter.

[Celebrate XDragons Short Track Speed Skating Team For Getting Gold]

[Congratulations to Short Track Speed Skating Team's Triumphant Return]

A victorious return.

- Congrats. - Wei-wei is behind me.

Brother Wei, are you okay?

I'm fine. It's a small injury, I can handle it.

- We worry about you. - No need to.

Take care of your business. Don't show off in front of us singles.

- As long as you are fine. - Hurry and go.

- I'll take this. - Thanks.

Athletes.

Rest well today. We'll see you in the gym tomorrow.

- Dismissed. - Yes!

- Bye-bye. - Bye-bye.

Xiao Xia.

Congrats.

Thanks.

From the school garden?

No. I just casually got some.

Xiao Xia! Xiao Xia!

Coach Jin.

I heard the news. Brilliant!

Congrats.

Thanks. Well received.

Xiao Xia, you've really changed something rotten into something magical.

I heard Tang Xue won. Who else can make a national champion in such a short time?

Only you. Brilliant.

It's mainly herself. She's devoted to the sport.

Brilliant.

The hero of XDragons has returned!

My apologies. I was on a call so I came late.

Manager Ma, I have something important to talk to you about.

- What? - About Zhang Yuewei.

[Secret]

Grandma, are you disappointed?

- How did you know I was here? - I just knew.

Well, you didn't invite me when you come to Brother Tie's?

What's wrong?

Tell me about your troubles.

Big Jiang, have you thought about the future?

Future? Not really.

I just want to play hockey forever.

I'm just missing a professional team that wants me.

I used to think that way, too.

I wanted to skate for the rest of my life.

But now, I'm not sure anymore.

Tell me the truth. Are you badly hurt?

I'm not. It's just an old injury. It'll get better with time.

But...

it was the best chance to enter the national team roster.

And I missed it just like that.

Later, my age and my physical status. So many uncertainties.

- I don't know if there's another chance. - Zhang Yuewei,

come here.

Why are you so pessimistic?

It's not like you. Didn't you hurt your leg?

Pulled muscle. I'll accompany you to do bench presses.

You just have to do some recovery.

I know. As long as your heart is still in it,

nothing can stop you.

Hold my hand. Don't open your eyes.

We're still not there?

Almost.

Don't rush.

Count backward from three.
