My name is
Edgardo Miranda Rodriguez
creator of the
superhero, La
Borinqueña,
graphic novelist,
philanthropist,
and I'm here to
share with you,
Un Chín, about
my story.
I created La
Borinqueña
in 2016,
establishing her
as the
only Latino
to have her own
self-titled comic
book series
since then.
The Smithsonian
Museum has
included her
as part of their
permanent
collection.
We've teamed up
with
Rosario Dawson,
DC Comics, and we
are the only
superhero series
dedicated to
charity work,
because we've
awarded over
$200,000
in grants
to nonprofits
throughout
Puerto Rico.
Where does our
true power lay?
Our true power is
in owning our
stories.
Not just telling
them, but owning
the stories.
When we own our
narrative, we
empower
ourselves,
and we will
empower others.
Tell your story,
tell our
story, own it.
Un Chín para mí
es La Borinqueña
Because we all
have a superpower
to
contribute our part
to make the world
better for
all of us.
