where malevolent spirits

to prowl the town.

And area folktales,

they center
around a character

shrieking
into the depths,

trying to convince
ruinous forces

to curse the town,

only to be dragged back down

by the forces
he thought to control.

Ruby: Oh, come on!

- It is the truth
underneath those stories

that I find, mm,
so interesting.

It adds a chilling dimension

to the well's otherwise
spiritual legacy.

the next well keeper.

And maybe she will be
in ten years or so.

a reoccurring clue.

First, I thought
it was a warning

that the girl's nice mom

so dead end.

- So it led
to nothing at all.

- Hannah's mom

Finn: If the well
led you to this,

it must mean something.

What do you see?

- People gathered
around the well.

and the woman
who's going to destroy it.

and the writer lady

side by each.

- Like we're
on the same side.

- Like you're linked.

- Linked at our well.

So maybe the video
wasn't meant as a warning.

The town is fine,

and people are granting
their own wishes.

Like, maybe they don't need
the magic anymore.

there's the picture.

All of us,

plus the woman
who's gonna record it all

- Are you following

- [uncertainly] Ish.

maybe everything
is connected.

my dad's wish and mine.

And if I am right about this,
then things might be okay.

- Then it's all the bad stuff
