Son Hyuk's been arrested.

How's he?

It's a serious injury but not life-threatening.

This is our last chance to identify the enemy within.

About the time we had together in Japan...

I hope it can remain as pleasant memories of the time we were sincere to each other.

About Son Hyuk walking out under Hae In's custody...

...do you not find it strange?

All you have to do is to arrest me to get through with this.

This child... who is she?

Both you...

...and I know her, don't we?

The DIS transfer team is here.

Episode 13

Captain.

Could you allow me the access to view the CCTV files from Hangang Hospital?

Yes.

If we were, it must be out of tragic fate.

In our line of work,

it would be the height of folly...

to have someone in our hearts.

I learned it the hard way.

Doing what I do for a living, I've worn many masks.

I don't recall which is the real me now.

You probably can't handle the real me.

Yu Jin.

The one that dressed as a nurse and kidnapped the doctor to heal the wounded Son Hyuk,

the one that resides within NTS as an Athena spy,

and the one that is in the picture with Son Hyuk,

is all you, isn't it?

What kind of questions should I ask you,

and what type of answers should I expect to hear from you?

Which were done by Yoon Hae In, and which were done by Yu Jin?

Which were the truth and which were the lies?

If I were to arrest and interrogate you now,

you would probably choose to keep the secrets of Athena by either being silent or killing yourself.

Beholding you choosing to do so, I would probably despair myself.

Listen carefully to what I have to say.

If you can't expose all the secrets yourself, you're better off leaving now.

As far away as possible, without leaving any remnants of you.

If I were to meet you again, I'd treat you as a terrorist,

and would try to arrest you as an NTS agent.

I'm abdicating my duty as an agent by letting you go now,

but because I loved you, I will be willing to be responsible for my misdeed.

What's going on?

During transfer to Osan Airfield, Son Hyuk killed our agents and escaped.

Call for an urgent meeting, immediately.

Yes, sir.

[Urgent message, Son Hyuk escaped]

What happened?

Why were we all just notified of Son Hyuk's escape?

Didn't the incident occur quite a while ago?

I believe that DIS was trying to cover for it on their own first.

Get to the investigation as soon as you receive the report.

We don't have a full assessment of what is happening in the field.

No, we haven't even received anything from DIS.

I will notify you as soon as I become more knowledgeable about the situation.

Haven't met the captain yet?

You haven't left for the scene yet?

Seems like DIS doesn't even allow the direct access to the scene of the escape.

Why did they even take him then?

This wouldn't have happened if we had taken care of him ourselves.

We lost touch with Hae In as well, do you know what happened to her?

Did you send her the urgent message?

Yes.

Keep trying to reach her.

How's everything going?

Good.

Anything strange?

Not sure.

Sir.

Nothing wrong with the system.

The number you're trying to reach is unavailable...

You know Yu Jin right?

The records say that you lost your parents in the LA Uprising,

and you don't have any siblings either.

You went through the trouble of wiping off your history...

...but kept this photo.

Doesn't this photo mean something extremely special to you then?

This child... who is she?

I can't reach Hae In.

Make the emergency communications network accessible at once.

Yes, sir.

How's the investigation going?

We were notified too late, and also DIS doesn't allow us the access.

If they are unwilling to be so uncooperative,

then there's no point in us cooperating with them either.

No, but we should still continue to make attempts to investigate.

Yes.

One more thing, sir.

Yoon Hae In is missing.

She has been out of reach since the incident.

Hey Jung Woo.

Can you spare me a minute?

What's up?

Hey, I'm in deep trouble.

I'm being suspected by the Internal Investigation Unit.

What should I do?

What do you think I should do?

Sorry, but I have to leave now.

Where are you going? Hey, hey Jung Woo!

That pitiless bastard.

Hey, are you doing okay?

You shouldn't be calling me now.

Dude, I feel so stuck.

Stuck? You shouldn't be saying that to me.

So don't even think about coming here or calling me.

Fine then.

Let me know if anything urgent comes up.

Why do you look so surprised?

Huh? Do I?

Captain's looking for you.

Captain?

OK.

Yes.

NTS is also looking for Yoon Hae In as well.

Got it.

Seems like NTS is also looking for Hae In.

Something must've gone wrong.

NTS must've discovered by now that Hae In's also part of Athena.

We must hurry and find her first.

Continue to check with the emergency communications network.

Yes, sir.

Are you from Seoul?

Yes.

If you are looking for a room to stay in,

there is a clean and cheap place down the road that way.

Heater is up and running well, and you can use the hot water as much as you want.

Grandma! I brought a customer in.

Oh, welcome.

She's from Seoul and is planning to stay here for a few nights.

- Hello. - Ah, yes.

As I said, right Unni?

She can even cook for you if you ask her to.

She's a really good cook.

Then... please do me a favor.

Well... I don't have much stuff here to prepare the food.

You might find it better to eat out.

Come on Grandma, she would just need your kimchi to eat well.

We heard from North Korea a moment ago.

They decided to accept the offer to publicize the new nuclear technology.

That's a good news.

Then please arrange the meeting to finalize the plan, and notify me.

I'm planning to take special envoys from North Korea and have a tour in the Nuclear Plant with them.

Sir, please reconsider the tour.

Why? What's the problem?

There might be a security issue, as we don't even know Son Hyuk's whereabouts.

Captain Kwon's right.

It's inappropriate, not only security-wise but also diplomatically.

This tour is beyond what you're imagining.

It's imperative to show them what we have been able to achieve on our own,

and make them aware that their nuclear weapons cannot ensure their safety anymore.

As we found out from what Dr. Kim Myung Guk left to us,

that North Korea has much more nuclear weapons than we expected.

We cannot further delay this.

We need to make sure to convey our message clearly to them this time.

We cannot carry on much longer.

My identity is soon to be revealed.

Same here.

However, you should still fulfill your responsibilities.

What's the special message you got for me?

The President will directly accompany the special envoys from North Korea,

when they come to inspect the nuclear reactor.

These documents are the detailed itinerary of the North Korean envoys,

and the President's plan during their visit.

Right, this is exactly what I needed.

And there is something that Dr. Kim left before he died.

It's information related to the North Korea's nuclear weapons.

The detailed info is in this USB.

We will directly contribute to the security of the special envoys from North Korea,

when they follow the President to the nuclear reactor.

We are still lost looking for Son Hyuk, and yet have another mission at this time?

It's because Son Hyuk is missing, we need to ensure the security now.

Jung Woo, Jae Hee,

Joon Ho, keep investigating for Son Hyuk's whereabouts.

And the rest of the team will take care of the security of the President and the special envoys.

Meeting's adjourned.

The Internal Investigations Unit just started investigating into Yoon Hae In.

I tried to look into it myself as well,

but it seems like she hasn't left much behind.

Considering what happened in Japan prior to this, abduction is also plausible.

Considering when she disappeared,

we cannot rule out the fact that Son Hyuk and Yoon Hae In were working together.

What do you think Jung Woo?

Why don't we try to be more careful about the investigation?

We will carry on the investigation, deeming the two incidents to be linked to each other.

You really don't know?

Don't know what?

I think you might know why she disappeared suddenly?

What do you think I know?

Why are you asking me that?

Right now, you seem to be well-aware of why Hae In disappeared.

If you do, tell me now.

Say something!

To see you being suspected for what someone else did,

can you imagine how much it hurts me?

Why are you outside? It's cold!

It's ok. Did you catch this fish?

Yea, I wanted to cook for you.

Where are your parents? I haven't met them yet.

They passed away a while ago.

I heard that they went far out in the sea and never came back.

My parents also passed away when I was about your age.

Then you probably remember their faces at least.

I don't even remember what they look like.

Why did you come here?

I just wanted to get some rest.

That's a smart phone you're holding?

Can I look at it?

It's off. I'll turn it on.

Do you have a lover?

Why?

Well... don't people save speed dial 1 for their lovers?

Do you have a lover yourself?

Well... I have a lover but no cell phone to save his number.

After having reviewed we narrowed down the possible routes that they will take to only a few now.

We set up to utilize the UAV and other systems for this mission.

After selecting the final destination, we will come up with the detailed strategy.

If North Korea decided to accept the South Korean government's offer,

the new nuclear technology will be an immense hindrance to Athena.

Do not ever let this happen. Got it?

Yes, sir!

It's me.

Yes. I got it, sir.

Yes, sir.

What Dr. Kim handed over to them seems to be detailed information about North Korean's nuclear weapons.

How much in detail?

We are not sure yet,

But NTS and even Blue House seem to be aware of this.

We just received a message via the emergency communications network.

Who is it?

Yoon Hae In.

You have a new voicemail...

First message.

Once I was little, I traveled to New Zealand with my parents.

The moments I spent there with them are among the few good memories I have in my life.

We went to a hill in a small town there and heard about the legendary story of the town.

That story compelled me to tears.

They believed that only by diving off the hill into the sea,

the souls can escape to get to their hometown to attain eternal rest.

At this moment I'm also standing on a steep hill.

It's sad to realize that the place for my exhausted soul to return is this steep hill,

but the memories I shared with you will comfort me.

I'm sorry that I abandoned your faith.

Unni, what are you up to?

Sleeping?

Unni, unni!

Hello?

Ahjussi, ahjussi!

Your girlfriend is passed out here.

Where are you?

I don't know when things started to go wrong,

but the one thing clear is that the path we have chosen makes us sink deeper into the pit.

We seem to be sinking deeper and deeper as we struggle harder to get out.

I feel sorry that I might have made all of us dwell on the past.

We should leave now.

Hold the mission.

You shouldn't go by yourself, please let me keep you company.

Get out of my way.

Oh no...

Hae In, Hae In! Wake up!

Hae In!

Be safe!

You are the only personnel from outside to have entered this facility.

I personally hope that this nuclear reactor will allow us,

to get over the past and work towards the brighter future.

Here is the center of our nuclear reactor.

What has allowed us the advancement of the performance of the nuclear reactor,

is the new technology we have been able to acquire recently here.

This technology was made possible by Dr. Kim's contribution.

As of now, we proceeded to the final step, and the nuclear reactor is ready to be used.

Even this prototype we have here, can provide sufficient energy,

for the entire town with population of 100,000 for a hundred years.

What's your impression on this?

The size and the technology are beyond our expectation.

I believe that this nuclear reactor can help our cities in need of more energy.

As I mentioned previously, the development of this nuclear reactor was

for the benefit of both South and North Korea.

I hope that we take this as an ample opportunity to contemplate how to utilize

nuclear power to benefit everyone in the Korean peninsula.

What do you mean by that?

I mean that the nuclear weapon can no longer guarantee safety in North Korea.

Hae In.

Are you okay?

Are you feeling okay now?

I didn't mean for you to do this when I told you to leave me without leaving any remnants of you.

You should've just gone back to work for Athena and be my enemy.

Can't you see that what you just did to yourself,

could hurt me even more than getting shot by you.

Ever since I found out that you were part of Athena,

I came to raise too many questions and doubts.

What's the relationship between you and Son Hyuk?

How you ended up becoming an Athena member and why...

What did Son Hyuk mean to you?

During the LA Uprising, I lost my parents,

and he saved my life when I was trapped inside a building on fire.

He was the one who took a 9-year-old orphan in and raised her.

Since then,

he came to mean the whole world to me,

and I came to do whatever he wished me to do.

So, Son Hyuk wanted you to be a member of Athena as well?

You haven't been living your own life.

You've been living a life for Son Hyuk.

It's not too late to undo all this.

If I hadn't met you,

I would've carried out all the missions for Athena without any remorse.

No matter how much I regret now,

the blood stained on me from the past cannot be cleansed.

I've come too far.

Fortunately she is no more in a critical condition,

but the further prognosis is yet to be known.

How much longer until the full recovery?

For cases like this, the prognosis heavily depends on the patient's will to recover.

Let's go Hae In.

We don't have much time. We should get going now.

I don't want to.

Let's go now.

Get off me!

I see that you are exhausted to the point of making such extreme decisions.

So get some rest for now.

How can I rest when I have nightmares even with my eyes open?

Let's end all this.

I'm regretting getting you involved in all this,

but if we stop now, all we have lived for becomes totally meaningless.

There isn't much left.

I will take care of the rest of it, so please bear it for me for a bit longer.

What's the reasoning behind your actions even when you knew about Yoon Hae In's identity?

I wanted to give her a chance to end her relationship with Athena on her own.

I came to conclude that she had to straighten her mind first.

That was the only reason?

And I'm in love with her.

I hope you made the right decision.

If she can't straighten her mind herself, then your decision would be unforgivable.

For now, let's keep this on the down low.

A secret shared only by the two of us.

It's me.

What's up?

Please arrange me a meeting with the special envoys from North Korea.

Are you out of your mind?

How am I supposed to make that happen?

Well, that's for you to do.

Please make it happen ASAP.

Understand?

Yoon Hae In still can't be found?

Yeah.

What do you think?

You think this is an accident, or there is something else behind all this.

I'm not so sure myself.

From before I have suspected Hae In...

What do you mean?

Well, I don't have any clear evidence to back it up, but just by intuition.

So can you find out more about her?

Thanks for sparing me time.

While we are staying in Seoul, it's up to you to adjust our schedule.

I don't think it's a bad idea to have a drink here.

Yes, sir.

If it doesn't trouble you too much, I'd like to invite another guest.

He has been waiting anxiously to see you two.

I don't mind.

Yes, please bring him in.

Long time no see.

You know him?

He's the DIS Regional Director of East Asia.

Previously, yes, but not any longer.

I'm Son Hyuk.

I'm Kim Ho Gyun.

What's your motivation for wanting to see us?

I simply wanted to share with you the recent dangerous info I was able to obtain.

Dangerous info?

Yes, the dangerous info that made me believe that North Korea might culminate in the same situation as Iraq.

What is that?

Something that Dr. Kim left over before he died.

It's the detailed info pertaining the nuclear weapons currently possessed by North Korea.

If US were to find out, they'd probably want to eradicate all that North Korea has now.

Are you threatening us?

No, that's not my intention.

As I mentioned earlier, I no longer work for the US government.

What is your ulterior motive for informing us about this?

I simply don't want you guys to be swayed and pressured by the South Korean government.

This info left by Dr. Kim is already in the hands of the South Korean government,

and that's exactly why they offered to share the nuclear reactor with you.

If you accept their offer, you will continuously get urged and prevailed on by their decisions.

So I'd like to offer you two the solution to reveal their ulterior motive.

Keep going.

What do you think about what he said?

He is full of risky ideas.

We should just ignore him.

If the US and South Korea were truly cognizant about our nuclear weapons, it could endanger all of us.

For the future of our republic, we shall never forfeit our nuclear weapons.

What's the reasoning behind getting North Korea involved in this?

I'm just trying to light the fuse and instigate them to clash each other.

The fight will be between North and South Korea.

Considering the impression that we got from the special envoys,

I believe that you can expect positive results from this treaty.

As soon as we enter into a technical partnership with Saudi Arabia, the nuclear reactor will be ready for use.

How's that partnership going on with Saudi Arabia?

As many countries were also looking into forming an alliance with Saudi Arabia for this technology,

it was not without difficulty.

We, however, were able to convince Saudi Arabian Prince Yaxier,

to make a layover stop in Korea on their way to Japan.

We should take their trip seriously,

as this might be our only opportunity to make negotiations with them.

As Saudi Arabia is planning to implement the unprecedented energy development,

we must make this happen by all means.

Arrange the schedule according to their wishes.

Yes, sir.

I'd like to meet Prince Yaxier myself, please make the preparation.

Yes, sir.

Here are the documents entailing the detailed plan regarding the meeting with the Saudi Arabian prince.

As it's a top government secret, the security will be minimalized as well.

Thanks for your hard work.

Consider this as my last favor.

Let's not see each other for a while.

As you wish.

Jung Woo.

Captain wants to see you.

You previously informed me that you discovered while interrogating Han Sang Jin,

that there must be another agent from Athena within the President's House. Is that correct?

Yes, sir.

We narrowed down the suspects to a few.

Please have a look.

What are we looking at?

I've been reviewing the security system within the President's House.

During the process, I found that there has been wiretapping.

They have been using a small wireless apparatus for phone-tapping.

Are you saying that the apparatus is placed within the President's House?

Correct.

We can possibly trace the frequency released by the apparatus,

to pinpoint the exact location to where the messages have been sent.

Get to it now.

Yes, sir.

Before we find out the exact position of the suspect,

try to be as discreet and careful as possible. Got it?

Yes, sir.

I will stop by the control room to obtain any more updated info on the location.

Go ahead.

What brought you here?

Work.

What kind of work?

I can't explain now.

I must go. See you later.

Did you see your father?

Yeah.

Jung Woo.

I found it.

It's right here.

Stand by, everyone.

Let's go.

It's inside that building.

It's in Room 201.

West Wing, Room 201.

Let me do it.

What brought you here?

I'm here to arrest you for treason.

Where's Jae Hee?

She's right outside.

Sir.

Okay.

Sir, don't do this!

Sir.

Dad!

Mr. Han's been just arrested and getting transferred to NTS now.

Where is Cheol Gi?

He's in his room.

Tell him to take care of this before he goes in to NTS.

Yes, sir.

Yes.

I'll be on my way to NTS now.

I know who it is, don't worry about it.

I will take care of Lee Jung Woo.

You're so selfish till the end.

What do you expect me to do now?

It's not too late to tell me all that you've done.

So that I wouldn't have to be in so much pain thinking about you.

So that I can hate you for the rest of my life.

Jae Hee.

I'm sorry.

Dad!

Why did you do that?

It's something I have to take care of.

What just happened? Report to me now!

Dad!

You go ahead and eliminate Mr. Han.

Jae Hee. Jae Hee!

Are you okay?

Find the sniper.

Find the sniper!

Drop your weapon now!

Get in the car!

They must be planning something big in secret.

So it's imperative for us to find out about their plan.

Get in control of the situation room and gather everyone.

We must achieve this treaty.

You have to do me a favor, for the last time.

Evacuate this room right now.

I think what they're aiming for is the President!

I will go there myself.

I have a bad feeling that I will detest you for the rest of my life.

This might be the most ill-fated relationship.
