=Episode 3=

(Luo Residence)

Help me up.

I can't feel my legs.

Get Luo Xue'er here.

- Let her keep vigil. - Yes.

Madam.

Shuangshuang.

At this moment,

you must restrain yourself.

Mother, you finally have the say at home.

Why still act so subserviently?

It's not over yet.

We must be cautious.

The things we've done

may not be completely flawless.

Bad news.

Something has happened.

Luo Ailian's maid Bin is missing.

What?

The butler just came and told me.

Since the ancestral hall caught fire,

no one has seen her.

How come we forgot about her?

Where could she have gone to?

Mother.

Could she discover something

and run away?

Don't panic.

The ancestral hall is secluded, and few people go there.

But now Bin is missing.

It makes me feel restless.

General Xu has arrived.

General Xu is here.

General, what brings you here?

Luo Ailian's death is suspicious.

I'm here today to ask you

some questions.

General.

What's suspicious about my sister's death?

That day, with my permission,

Luo Ailian went home and investigated Luo Jida's death.

I gave her a flare.

This flare can ignite upon exposure to fire.

Even if she were trapped in a great fire and couldn't escape,

the flare would still be ignited.

But that day,

there were no flares ignited at all.

It means that someone destroyed it.

So I surmise

she must have had an argument with someone.

And it's very likely

that the perpetrator deliberately set the fire

to obliterate all evidence.

Luo Ailian has a maid named Bin.

Perhaps she knows something.

Madam, please summon Bin.

To be honest,

we are also looking for Bin.

We just found out

that she went missing.

Missing?

Perhaps, as you said,

she knew something and fled away.

Or perhaps,

she is indeed the arsonist.

Bin is utterly loyal.

How could she harm my sister?

Cats hide their claws.

I'm just speculating

and trying to provide you with some clues.

My family will do our utmost to find her.

If there is any clue about the people

who entered and left the ancestral hall,

even the tiniest details,

you can come to my place and tell me.

Okay.

Okay.

General, please.

Miss Xue'er.

Greetings, General Xu.

General thinks you may have something

to say to him in private.

So he's waiting here for you.

If you know anything,

feel free to tell me.

I can hold justice for you and your sister.

Thank you.

But I have nothing to tell you.

Are you serious?

Sure.

Alright.

If you think of anything later,

you can always come to my place to tell me.

I am leaving now.

I followed you in advance.

I'm warning you.

No matter what you see or know,

keep it to yourself.

Otherwise,

there will be no place for you in this house.

Enjoy your meal.

Please.

Who are you?

I have booked here.

He's General Xu Chengfeng.

Pay your respects.

(Prefect Bai of Liao City) Greetings, General Xu.

Greetings, General Xu.

Prefect Bai.

No need for that.

You know how to enjoy life.

You booked the whole restaurant

to have a meal.

I...

I booked this place

to welcome you.

Right.

That's all?

This atmosphere is not good enough.

If you find it too quiet,

I can ask the ladies of Chunxiang Tower

to dance and sing for you.

I'll make perfect arrangements.

That's very kind of you, Prefect Bai.

Come on.

Actually, don't be nervous.

I am easygoing.

Come on.

Here's to you.

Thank you.

When I stayed in Liao City,

I heard the Luo family of Ganlu Brewery and the Du family

had an unmanageable dispute over an accident.

Someone died in a fire at the Luo Residence.

What exactly happened?

You tell General Xu about the Luo family.

General.

Luo Ailian killed her father and then set fire to herself.

The investigation is almost done.

We're working on the rest.

We'll sort out case files and close the case soon.

Prefect Bai resolves cases swiftly

with incredible discernment.

I'm flattered.

Yeah.

Speaking of closing the case, you explain to me

about the bruises on Du Ruoshan's body.

Why did Luo Ailian kill her father?

And who set fire to the Luo Residence?

Are you going to let me investigate it for you?

No.

Luo Ailian

has a maid named Bin.

She disappeared after the fire.

Send people to find her.

Yes.

Tianhao.

Guys, come on in.

Guys, eat and drink to your heart's content.

Prefect Bai

will pay for the bill.

- Thank you, Prefect Bai. - Thank you, Prefect Bai.

Well...

Prefect Bai.

I have something else to do. I have to go.

Remember.

Take good care of them.

Yes.

Prefect Bai.

Well,

General Xu's tricks

are unpredictable.

(According to the family motto,)

(I cannot let bad people get their way.)

You've been looking for Bin for so long.

There is no news about her?

Madam.

We failed

to find her.

You're so useless.

You can't do such a little thing. You want a punishment?

I really can't find her.

I guess

Bin might already be dead.

Find her regardless of her being dead or alive.

Keep looking.

Yes.

Where on earth has she hidden herself?

If the officials find her first,

we will be in trouble.

We spend more money

to hire more people to look for her.

Okay.

(General's Mansion) General.

The coroner re-examined the body.

Apart from the fact the body is two inches shorter

than that of Luo Ailian,

there are no other doubts.

The body is two inches shorter?

It's fishy.

I don't think it's a coincidence.

It's indeed suspicious.

But the coroner said

Miss Ailian's body was badly damaged.

And after a long time,

it's normal to happen to her body.

No new evidence emerges in this case.

There's nothing we can do.

Prefect Bai is waiting for your instructions.

General.

I know you're righteous.

But we have done our utmost

to resolve this case.

Tianhao.

Have someone properly bury Luo Ailian.

And erect a tombstone for her.

Yes.

Yes.

Take her away.

How dare you!

I'm Shen Danqing of the Shen Escort Agency.

How dare you seize me at my place?

- Sorry, Young Master. - Sorry, Young Master.

- Yes. - Yes.

This is all fake?

You lied to me.

You said you would never make a mistake.

But you just exposed yourself.

Do you know what disaster

it will bring to my family?

I thought they were going to kill you.

Even if I die before you today,

you are Shen Danqing, not Luo Ailian.

Why?

Why did you deceive me?

On the surface,

you became Shen Danqing.

But deep down, you have not changed at all.

You were deceived and used by others before.

It's because you were soft-hearted and gullible.

You've already died once.

Can't you learn a lesson?

If your sister were still alive,

she would be sure to save you

if you were in danger.
