Original subtitles

Is that the town of Korin?!

Yes, it is a town built on information trade

where any information can be bought and sold.

What is "information trade"?

It's all about money.

In this town, you can find out anything you want for a price.

In this town, there are all kinds of master informants.

But the greatest of them all has to be Homeron.

Yes, I've heard that name too.

It's a rather delicious sounding name, maro.

I'm hungry, maro.

It's not food!

Hey, Shu! Let's go!

Uh, yeah...

HOMERON HAS DIED

Right this way for a great deal on information!

Wow...

These are all master informants' shops?

How are we going to find

this master informant named Homeron like this?

Welcome, welcome.

Master Homeron's shop is this way!

This is the shop of Master Homeron,

the greatest master informant in the world!

It's quite different from what I imagined.

I didn't think it would be so flashy.

"Master Informant Homeron."

That's what it says right here...

I wonder if this really is the place?

Say, Miss... Is Homeron really here?

Yes, of course.

Ah...

My name is Legalas.

Under orders of the most gracious King of Jibral.

We would like to ask Homeron to do a job for us.

I will let him know right away!

Ignoring me again?!

And what is your business?

We want you to find a certain woman.

A woman, you say?

She's in her 20s or 30s, she has blue eyes

and wears a perfume that smells like some kind of flower.

I am not a fortuneteller.

There's no way I could tell her whereabouts

by that information alone.

She disappeared from Jibral Castle.

You could pick up and follow her trail from there, couldn't you?

Jibral Castle, you say?!

That makes it even more difficult.

What do you mean?!

You better think before you speak ill of my land!

You don't know?

Huh?

Has something happened to Jibral Castle?

Hmmm, let's see... That will cost you 20 gold.

Yes!

That'll be 20 gold for the information.

Good grief, is everything about money here?

Here.

Thank you!

Jibral Castle disappeared without a trace the other day.

Give me back my money, you!

Who would pay money for such false information!

It's not false!

Wha—?

Jibral Castle no longer exists.

It's as if the entire country has vanished completely.

Jibral Castle...?!

Well, what happened to His Majesty?

What happened to the King?

I do not know.

Why did Jibral Castle disappear?

That is being investigated.

You're lying!

Even if Jibral was defeated by the Grankingdom,

it has its allied nations behind them.

Don't expect the great Legalas to believe such a wild tale!

Old man...

I'll have to see it with my own eyes to believe it!

Legalas!

Let him go.

I wonder if he'll be okay...

He probably won't accept it unless he sees it himself.

So, what we just heard was true?

It's true!

Master informants only sell the truth!

Then, is everyone gone, maro...?

The Castle disappeared overnight,

as if it had been blown away in an instant.

It's Nene.

It was Nene's doing!

Shu...

This is no time for us to be hesitating like this!

Calm down, Shu.

We have to take one step at a time.

Otherwise, we'll make the same mistakes.

Now...

Are you willing to undertake our job?

It would be extremely difficult to find that woman.

Let's see, I'd need 5,000 gold up front,

and then another 5,000 when the job is finished.

Of course, that doesn't include expenses.

You're really greedy, maro.

I will prepare 20,000 gold.

T-Twenty thousand, you say? Really?

Yes.

Seriously?!

- I'll do it! - Me!

No, me!

Hey, you guys! This is my job!

Who're you guys? We are talking to Homeron!

We are Homeron, too.

Huh?!

What does that mean?

I am Homeron the Second.

And I'm Homeron the Legitimate.

I am Homeron Junior.

I am the Original Homeron.

- Huh? - Huh?

So many Homerons, maro.

Is there plain Homeron?

No, there isn't.

Homeron is dead.

- Huh?! - Huh?!

What does it say there, maro?

It says that master informant Homeron died in battle,

and with his passing a great deal of information was lost.

It also says that Homeron did not want to die.

So, how did he die?

There was a big battle within the Grankingdom, right?

Homeron enlisted as a scout to gather information about the enemy.

I heard that he was in a unit

under the direct command of Knight Master Conrad himself.

Under Conrad's...?

The allies of Jibral fought valiantly, but Grankingdom won.

And many lost their lives.

In other words, he was killed in action.

Yes, as you can see...

What happened to Conrad?

That will be 2,000 gold... Or that's what I'd like to say.

But the truth is that no one seems to know.

Listen, our master informants are not bad at all.

No?

There's no deal if your informant is just an imposter.

I didn't know you had so much money, Zola.

Offering to pay 2,000 gold.

There's no way she has that much money.

Then how do we hire a master informant?

I'll come up with it.

I'm told this town has a bulletin board with job listings.

Then, you should go to the plaza with the fountain.

Five hundred gold for a mantanta fish.

Five thousand in gold for bringing in just one Gaigaurus horn!

There're a lot of ads for jobs.

If we all join forces,

we should be able to raise 20,000 gold by noon tomorrow.

Kluke and Bouquet, you two go find

another master informant to replace Homeron.

- Right. - Right.

I would ask that you please choose one of our masters.

You're persistent, maro.

You are still here...?

As an assistant,

if the masters don't earn money, then I'm in trouble too.

Say, where can we find this Gaigaurus?

By the way, I don't have any money.

Look, why don't you just ask the person who posted the ad?

There's the name on the bottom.

Got it! Thank you.

Oh, wait a minute!

The Gaigaurus is an incredibly powerful monster.

I don't even know if a Knight Master could defeat one.

That powerful?!

Yes, I hear nobody has ever returned alive from confronting Gaigaurus.

All right! Now I'm really fired up! I'll be back!

Hey, someone should stop that kid!

Impossible.

Once his mind's made up, he won't listen, maro!

Yeah. He's been like that since long ago.

But that's the great thing about him too.

All right. I'm counting on you.

I'm going fishing too, maro. We'll all go together, maro!

The scent...of flowers...

Let's see... Is this the place?

Welcome!

Uh, you again? We have no business with you.

I also work here part time.

Hey, you're not serious about going after a Gaigaurus, are you?

Yeah, I am!

If it's stronger than a Knight Master, then it will be a worthy opponent.

I wanna become much, much stronger!

Why?

To defeat Nene.

Defeat Nene...?

This way...

Come with me.

A Gaigaurus has made its lair in the cave behind this waterfall.

It's been eating up all the fish and animals in the area,

and the people nearby are struggling.

Say...

You were talking about defeating Nene,

but you must know that's impossible, right?

Why do you say that?

Because even the descendants of the Soldiers of Light couldn't stop him.

That's not information; it's just a rumor...

They say the reincarnations of the Soldiers of Light

mentioned in the Book of the Beginning

stormed Nene's castle to defeat him.

But they lost to Nene.

They say the descendants all perished.

There is no way that someone like you could win against Nene.

Even the Soldiers of Light couldn't win against him.

You should just give it up and go home.

They didn't perish!

Huh?

The Soldiers of Light's descendants...

They're not dead yet.

It's deep.

It is. But your Shadow can get to the bottom.

Hey, Jiro.

What do you want me to do at a place like this?

We're going fishing.

The mantanta is a fish that lives only at the bottom of this lake.

Don't tell me you're using me as a fishing pole...

Follow Killer Bat.

Good Grief!

So this is a mantanta, huh?

If you catch 40 of them, we can earn 20,000.

We're not done yet?

We need money in order for us to get stronger.

Fine, then catch this!

Wha—?!

This is the place.

This is where the Gaigaurus lives?

If you want to run, you'd better do it now.

I don't run away!

Well... I'm out of here!

Here we go! Blue Dragon!

Hey, isn't that a Gaigaurus?!

You really think you can take it down?

Of course. We have to win!

Blue Dragon!

I'm tired.

I was hoping that Shu and I could get a suite together.

Hey you...

I wonder if my darling is okay.

I mean, if somebody is willing to pay 5,000 for one horn,

then they must be pretty hard to get!

That Gai...whatever its name is.

He has his Blue Dragon. He'll be fine.

But enough of that! Just get out already!

We still have to find the best master informant in this town.

Toughen up, Shu! Or we're done for!

Crushing Nail!

We did it!

If we can't defeat this thing, we'll never beat Nene.

You know that, don't you, Blue Dragon?!

We need to get stronger!

If you know that,

then don't let me have a hard time against something like this!

So come on and turn on the juice, Shu!

Special Technique, Fire Crisis!

We did it...

Why not show that much power all the time.

Here's 10,000 gold.

Thank you!

So, you are a Shadow Wielder, huh?

There's more to you than meets the eye!

Aw, it's nothing.

What's wrong with those children?

They're orphans who lost their parents in the war against Nene.

Huh?

They often ask me where their parents are.

It isn't just them. Many people come to Korin

Many people come to Korin searching for

the whereabouts of their missing sons or husbands.

They seem to be struggling without money.

Give this money to those children!

What? But I thought you needed this to hire a master informant.

Zola and the others will come up with it.

But...

It's okay. Because I'm stronger now.

I heard another rumor...

The reincarnations of the Soldiers of Light

may be Shadow Wielders.

Yes, I see...

So you want me to search for that woman.

I have 20,000.

Eh?

But before I hand over this large amount of money,

I'd like to test your skills.

When Homeron died,

I became the world's greatest master informant.

Then, tell me. How did Homeron die?

You saw his grave, didn't you? He died fighting the Grankingdom.

Did you obtain that information yourself?

N-No I didn't, but...

Well, then how can you be sure that Homeron has actually died?

We've heard that Homeron is no more,

but who delivered that information?

Whoever brought it would be the greatest master informant in town, right?

The master informant we found didn't work out, huh?

We'll have to keep searching.

Where are you going, Zola?

To Homeron's grave.

Something about this isn't adding up...

What do you think you're doing?

A gigantic Flying Fortress sprang out of Nene's Lair in Grankingdom.

Then beams of light came streaming out of the fortress.

And in the next instant, Jibral Castle had disappeared.

So it was Nene after all...

We were powerless.

We are known as master informants,

but we knew nothing.

We had no idea that Nene was producing such fearsome weapons.

We were reduced to entities

that only tell of the sadness that Nene had spread throughout the world.

That is why Homeron died.

Because living as a master informant had lost its meaning in this world.

I doubt that.

No matter how much information a master informant may collect,

it's just information after all.

Without a person who can put it to good use,

it's all just a waste of time and effort, isn't it?

I wonder if you would be able to use

the information we gather more effectively....

We are searching for the Extra Seven.

Hey, Shu!

So that we can become stronger.

The Extra Seven only exist in the original Book of the Beginning that was in Jibral.

When Jibral disappeared, the book was lost forever.

It was stolen before that.

The woman we are searching for was involved in that incident.

This is incredible information.

Can you find that woman?

If you are the legendary Shadow Wielders...

and if that is your wish...

Huh? What? What do you mean?

Why are you asking her?

"Homeron did not want to die."

That is a strange thing to have inscribed on your grave.

Nobody wants to die.

So then, perhaps he meant just the opposite.

In other words, Homeron did want to die, but he was unable to.

Does that mean that Homeron is still alive?

This one here is Homeron.

- Huh? - Huh?

She knows the most about Homeron,

and this is just my guess, but...

You're right...

Truth is always hiding right beside the person who seeks it.

You will make good use of my information, won't you?

I swear on my sword.

Then leave the search for that woman up to me.

We intend to visit the ruins of the Shadows next.

We believe it's likely they have some deep connection

to the mystery of the Extra Seven.

Well then, let us part ways here. Nene's powers are growing.

You should move with haste.

I will get stronger too, Homeron.

And one day, I will defeat Nene!

Yes.

Let's be on our way.

Huh? Where's Marumaro?

Huh? Oh yeah... He's missing.

Wasn't he with you guys?

I think I saw him going into the forest.

We don't have that information.

M-Marumaro...

Maro... Where am I, maro...?

Maro...

At an inn run by a beautiful lady,

Marumaro meets a mysterious death.

However you may try to hide your crimes,

they are laid bare before the skull that hears the voices of the dead.

People call me the Bandanna Cop, Zola.

And I'm her assistant, Bouquet.

All of the mysteries have now been solved.

To be continued in the full episode!
