The Song Of Glory

Episode 1

Commissioner Lu.

Did you find out? -Yes.

They're just dancers performing on the street.

Dancers performing on the street?

This was the dance Dowager Consort Sun...

...performed for Emperor Gaozu.

A guest...

...went up the second floor just now.

Prince of Pengcheng is an art lover.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Lu Yuan?

Commissioner Lu.

Come on, let's drink.

Come on, Your Highness.

What a coincidence.

Your Highness, cheers. -Come on.

Your Highness, please go back.

You've been coughing a lot recently.

I'm fine!

These guys won't leave me alone.

I remain unwell because of you guys.

Your Highness, you have been the regent.

You're working hard for the people.

Everyone is worried about you.

Did you set up this dance academy...

...to lure me here?

Yes.

You're straightforward.

Tell me. What do you want?

Everyone in Jiankang...

...knows that...

...in order to gain a foothold here,...

...one has to rely on the Lu family.

My girls and I have no one here.

Commissioner Lu, if we win your favour...

...and get your help,...

...we will have a promising future.

Songjunxing was created by Dowager Consort Sun.

How did you learn it?

My father was a painter in the palace back then.

He watched a performance of Songjunxing...

...and remembered it since then.

So he drew it and compiled the paintings into a book.

Please grant my wish, Commissioner.

Do you want to approach Prince of Pengcheng?

He's a royalty.

Who wouldn't want to approach him?

You don't have to go so far for wealth.

I can give you that, too.

Commissioner, do you...

...only want wealth?

Since ancient times, one has to take risks to gain wealth.

Currently Prince of Pengcheng only has Consort Xie.

Don't you want to have a mole of your own...

...by the side of Prince of Pengcheng?

Practise well...

...and you will gain fame one day.

Goodbye, Commissioner.

Senior.

The fish has taken the bait.

With the Lu family, it will be much easier.

However, we're not assassinating just a corrupted official.

Prince of Pengcheng is powerful.

His mansion is strictly guarded by multiple guards.

Prince of Pengcheng controls the Emperor, does whatever he likes...

...and allowed crooks...

...like Lu Yuan to do evil and mistreat the people.

Everyone would love to get rid of such an evil person.

Moreover,...

...he killed my family.

If I don't seek revenge, I'll have let down...

...my family members who died tragically.

I want to seize this chance to seek justice.

All right.

The date is set on the eighth.

Dancers will enter the mansion through the west entrance.

They'll stay in the music academy in the mansion.

Dance at Phoenix Pavilion.

When Songjunxing is played, it's time for you to assassinate him.

A'Nu and the rest will cover you.

We've planned this assassination for many years.

With the help of A'Nu, A'Ling and you,...

...I can surely assassinate the crook...

...and restore peace to the country.

By then, I'll provide assistance to you at the west entrance.

Remember, you only have one shot.

Promise me that you'll make it quick. Don't linger.

Leave immediately once I send you a signal.

I will.

"Phoenix Pavilion"

Master, where are my parents?

They passed away. -How?

It's all because of Prince of Pengcheng.

He caused the death of your parents.

Sister Lige, what are you thinking?

Nothing. -Sister Lige, don't worry.

We've been preparing for so long. With our senior and Master,...

...we'll kill Prince of Pengcheng and the people will live well.

We will be free, too.

Where do you want to go when it's over?

I want to go...

...to Meizhou.

Meizhou?

Isn't that our senior's hometown?

A'Nu, Master said he found this bracelet...

...on you when you're a baby.

It must have been left by your biological parents.

Have you ever wondered? Maybe they're still alive.

You can look for them using the bracelet.

Of course I have.

Sister Lige, when this is over, please look for them with me.

If we can really find them,...

...I'll get my parents to be your godparents.

My home will be yours, too, all right?

All right.

Starting from now, I'll be your godsister.

Call me sister. -Godsister.

Godsister.

Godsister.

Godsister.

Godsister. -Godsister.

"Jiankang"

"Prince of Pengcheng Mansion"

Your Highness.

Commissioner Lu is here.

Your Highness.

Just now Physician Xu said he's going to check on you.

I was worried about you. So I came along with him.

Commissioner Lu, you're caring.

Take a seat.

Physician Xu, you may check my pulse.

Your Highness, you're coughing blood again.

I'm all right.

Physician Xu.

The prince's condition...

...is worsening.

It's my fault.

You may leave. -Thank you, Your Highness.

It's my destiny.

It's not Physician Xu's fault.

In the royal court, you're the only one...

...who understands me, Commissioner Lu.

Without someone as considerate as you,...

...I would have been driven mad...

...by those pedantic scholars.

Your Highness, Lu Yuan and others are disregarding the law.

They abuse their power and the people are suffering.

Over the years,...

...we can't beat these crooks.

We've seen how the people are tortured.

As Minister of Defence,...

...Lu Yuan controls the army.

That's akin to controlling the entire Jiankang.

Over the years, he's been holding us back.

How long are we going to put up with this?

Is there news from your father's side?

Two nights ago, the north side reported that....

...they found the enemy's main force.

My father will lead Suiyuan Army to fight the enemy at Hulao Pass.

He said the battle is coming to an end.

I must turn the tables on them this time.

As long as General Shen wins the battle,...

...with his achievement,...

...you, the Shen family, can be appointed in important positions.

Then you can help me to get rid of the crooks...

...and restore law and order.

Miss, let's go.

Young Master forbids anyone from getting near the study.

He will be mad if he knows we're here.

He rarely comes here.

Wait for a while.

Madam, be careful.

Madam, these are made by the kids at Children's Home.

We're grateful to you..... -Miss, Madam is here.

Miss, let's go. Madam is here.

Miss.

Be careful. -All right.

Qing'er.

Mother.

Greetings, Miss.

Madam Song, you're here.

Did you guys find my sister?

Your sister was abducted 18 years ago.

It's not easy to find her.

Madam Song brought some snacks from Children's Home.

It's made by the kids.

Mother.

You're determined to find my sister.

The heavens will be moved.

My sister will surely reunite with us.

Luckily...

...I have you.

I'll be a good daughter.

Sister Lige.

A'Nu.

Master told you before he left.....

I know what to do.

Senior, can you do me a favour?

What is it? -If I don't return,...

...remember to dig out the jar of wine...

...under the pear tree on Mount Xiuli.

Sister Lige and I brewed it together.

We made a pact...

...to give it to our husbands when we get married.

If I don't return, drink it for me.

Silly girl, what are you talking about?

All right, I promise you.

This is for you.

Remember that.

"Prince of Pengcheng Mansion"

Who's there?

Get the person! -Yes!

You may leave. -Yes.

The medicine I found managed to fool the physician,...

...but it does affect your health.

All eyes are on us.

We should be cautious.

Understood. -Your Highness.

Shen Zhi requests to see you.

Your Highness.

What happened? -I was patrolling just now and...

...I saw someone suspicious at Phoenix Pavilion.

I've assigned my men to look for the person.

Phoenix Pavilion?

Lu Yuan proposed to have dancers performing to celebrate...

...Dowager Consort Sun's birthday. Will there be a problem?

Since Lu Yuan is putting on an act,...

...we might as well play along.

Things have been quiet for so long.

It's time to liven up the atmosphere.

Shen Zhi, assign more people and play it by ear.

I am curious about what he's up to.

Your Highness, it's the first day of the month.

Consort Xie sent someone to invite you.

Your Highness, you should go...

...or Dowager Consort Sun will blame you.

Forget it. Tell the messenger I'm unwell and asleep.

Your Highness, the prince said he's unwell today.

He asked you to enjoy the meal.

Your Highness. -Remove the food.

Yes, Your Highness.

"We'd rather be burnt. We won't stop until we die."

Dowager Consort, may you...

...live long. Many happy returns.

Good.

You may rise.

Mother, happy birthday.

Good. All of you are good.

Please be seated.

Dowager Consort.

The flood in Jiangdong has subsided.

It's double happiness today.

Aunt, allow me to share your joy during this occasion.

I have a gift for you, Dowager Consort.

Back then, Emperor Gaozu was fighting a battle in Pengcheng.

You danced in front of the army to boost their morale.

You and the late Emperor touched the heavens with your sincerity.

Emperor Gaozu finally returned in triumph,...

...established a capital and laws,...

...and founded our dynasty.

The painting depicts...

...the glorious moment. -Good.

It's really good.

What a pity. My feet suffers from a condition.

I can never perform Songjunxing again.

That's why I invited the top dancers in Jiankang today...

...to perform the dance for you.

With the performance, may you...

...live long and prosperously.

Commissioner, the number is not right. One person is missing.

Don't panic.

Yuan'er, what should we do?

Father, find a safe place and hide first.

All right.

Yixuan.

Xuan'er!

Xuan'er! -Yixuan!

Xuan'er! -Prince of Jingling!

Xuan'er, are you all right?

Send the prince away first. -Yes, Your Highness.

Xuan'er.

Master.

Has it started?

"The birthday banquet is in chaos."

A crook like Liu Yikang...

...shouldn't have existed in the world in the first place.

Tonight...

...will be the night.

Master, if they succeed tonight,...

...the world will be turned upside down.

I'll then clean Tianxiang Academy.

However, if they fail, they.....

Vermilion Bird Alliance vows that...

...they'd rather be burnt...

...and they won't stop until they die.

Your Highness, hide at somewhere safe first.

Arrest him!

Your Highness.

Lu Yuan, how dare you try to assassinate me.

Your Highness.

I didn't know the dancers would try to assassinate you.

Please trust me.

I'll kill the assassins today...

...to prove my innocence.

Your Highness. -Fine.

I'll give you a chance to prove yourself.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Keep one of them alive.

Yue Fang, send someone to protect the prince. Others, follow me.

Your Highness, run! -Let's go.

Your Highness, go.

Your Highness, this way.

Your Highness, let's hide here first.

Are you working for Lu Yuan?

Liu Yikang, Lu Yuan is not the only one...

...who wants to kill you.

Sanbao.

Your Highness, it's pine oil! -Come on!

"Library"

Open the door!

"Library"

Prince of Pengcheng wants the assassin alive.

Don't you dare to disobey him.

Prince of Pengcheng isn't back. Find him.

We'll act separately. -Yes.

Pursue her.

Xuan'er.

Xuan'er.

How is he doing?

Dowager Consort, the tip of the arrow scraped past his chest.

Prince of Jingling has a massive blood loss.

I'm afraid.....

Your Highness.

Prince of Pengcheng is not back yet.

Kang'er is not back yet?

Sister Lige.

Sister Lige.

A'Nu.

A'Nu.

A'Nu, are you all right?

A'Nu.

A'Nu.

A'Nu!

A'Nu!

A'Nu.

A'Nu, hang in there.

You will be all right.

We'll make it back together.

We'll survive and go to Meizhou together.

It's all right.

Hang in there.

Sister Lige.

It's good to have you.

A'Nu.

Sister Lige.

Find my parents for me.

Sister.

Take care.

No!

Sister Lige, let go of me. Let me go.

Why? -I beg of you. Let go of me.

No.

Go!

Go! -Why?

Let go of me!

A'Nu!

Come back!

Calm down! -Let go of me!

Calm down! -Let go of me!

Calm down!
