Let's talk outside.

Okay.

Sir, how is my mother?

Mrs. Ji's illness is

due to excessive

worry and stress.

After taking the medicine I prescribed,

she will feel much better.

Thank you, sir.

Mr. Zhao,

what a surprise to see you here.

I heard the county magistrate

had Mrs. Ji released from prison

and even called a physician to check on her.

I came to see how she is doing.

How is she?

Well...

the thing is,

a couple of days ago,

Mrs. Yang visited with a physician,

and I could not turn them away out of respect for the family.

Why did the Yang family get involved in this?

Do you not know about it, Mr. Zhao?

Ms. Ji will be marrying Mr. Yang Jinglin as his concubine.

She will soon be part of the Yang family.

Mr. Zhao.

Mr. Yang Jinglan has returned.

He has announced his wish to marry Ji Yingying.

Yang Jinglan?

It has been so long since we last saw each other,

you should spare me a smile instead.

If

Gao Fang hadn't arrived with his troops in time,

I would have died on the way here.

Why did you rush back?

You were seriously injured.

You almost…

I need to come back to cover for you.

I am merely getting married.

I can take care of myself.

I do not need you...

I can save my mother on my own.

Yes, I know.

You are

an amazing woman, Ms. Ji.

Strong and

You can

But me?

Without you,

There is no need to talk about repayment.

Mr. Yang,

we do not have enough time

Do you and Ms. Ji

I do not mind using them.

But…

I will take care of her outfit.

Okay.

If you marry my brother,

But if you marry me,

Let go!

Yingying!

- Let go now! - Let go!

Yingying!

Let go, Yingying!

Is this my father's Red Shu brocade?

Where did you find it?

At Prince Bai's residence in Nanzhao.

There are plenty of old tribute brocades

to be found there as well.

Nanzhao? Prince Bai?

So the person Niu Jin is colluding with is Prince Bai?

We will talk about this in the future.

It is not something we can deal with now.

At least,

the Red Shu wedding attire

has returned to its rightful owner.

I heard Mr. Yang is seriously injured.

Will he be able to go through with the wedding ceremony?

A serious injury means nothing.

In fact, even if he is barely holding on,

he will go through with the ceremony.

It is my youngest son's wedding today.

May I know the purpose of your visit, Deputy General Niu?

Yang Jinglan, the brocade officer,

has slaughtered the city's soldiers for no reason.

His actions were outrageous!

Under General Niu's orders,

I have come to arrest him!

- That is impossible. Absolutely impossible! - Ha! Look at him.

I told you, that idiot has always been arrogant

and sooner or later, he will bring harm to our family.

- Stop talking already. - Father!

Deputy General Niu,

It is

my wedding today.

And yet

you didn't even bring a gift to congratulate me?

Yang Jinglan,

Let’s avoid hurting the innocents!

Do you recognize

what this is?

The crown prince's fish tally?

The fish tally represents the crown prince himself.

So kneel!

The crown prince's fish tally!

Kneel now!

You are just a low-ranking official.

How am I supposed to trust you

when you pull out the fish tally out of nowhere?

The brocade industry of Yizhou

is of paramount importance,

yet plagued by villainous scheming.

Yang Jinglan, acting under the crown prince's orders,

has been overseeing Yizhou's brocade industry

as the brocade officer,

achieving remarkable results.

He is promoted to

supervising commissioner,

granted full authority to investigate in secret,

execute justice on the spot, and report afterward!

Qianniu Guards are here

under the Crown Prince's orders

to safeguard Commissioner Yang.

You saw the Crown Prince's fish tally and failed to kneel.

Do you intend rebellion?

Today is my wedding day.

Yet you barge in with soldiers,

frightening my wife

and disturbing my guests.

What punishment should befit such insolence?

I was rash.

I apologize for disturbing the honored guests

and Mrs. Yang.

I kindly ask for your understanding, Commissioner Yang.

Get lost!

We will leave now!

That was satisfying!

Well done!

Get lost!

Let's have a look at that fish tally.

Careful now.

It seems we will need to address you differently from now on.

No more calling you the brocade officer.

From today onward, it is Commissioner Yang.

Commissioner Yang!

Enough...!

Let me help you back to rest.

That will not do.

We have not completed the ceremony yet.

Exactly. He is still fine.

It must be done.

Complete it...?

Look at you!

You are injured.

Let's postpone it!

No postponing.

It must be done today.

You are barely standing.

Stop the ceremony. Let's go.

No more?

Then straight to the bridal chamber?

What nonsense are you all spouting?

I...

That is right! Straight to the bridal chamber!

What are you waiting for?

Straight to the bridal chamber! Let's go!

Let's go...!

Let's go! To the bridal chamber!

We do not have to use the sedan chair!

Let's go!

Take it slow...!

Everyone!

Take it slow.

Enjoy the feast!

Come here!

What is this?

I am staying here

tonight.

You are injured,

and I need to check your bandages through the night.

I cannot be too far.

Let's do this.

You sleep on the bed. I will sleep on the floor.

What nonsense are you talking about?

I take the bed and the patient sleeps on the floor?

Absolutely not.

They have prepared all these festive treats.

It meant to symbolize early...

I know.

But why so many?

I will move them to the side.

I do not want them pressing on your wounds.

Okay.

Let me grab a pillow.

Did I touch your wound?

It is fine.

All done.

Lie down.

You embarrassed Niu Jin today.

Do you think he will retaliate even harder?

Now that he knows my true identity,

he will understand that

it is futile to target me directly.

What matters most

is how Chang'an and the military commissioner handle him.

For now,

he will not act recklessly.

Rest assured.

Get some rest.

No matter what,

thank you for coming back.

It is comforting.

Instead of drowning yourself in wine,

why not think about

what to do next?

What else can I do?

She is

someone else's wife now.

I have lost.

Lost completely.

Even if she is married,

you can still take her back.

Bring her to your side.

Are you saying this

for me,

or are you speaking for yourself?

What is that supposed to mean?

You want Ji Yingying too, don't you?

Mr. Zhao, you misunderstand me.

I am

just a businessman, nothing more.

When she was trapped in the fire,

you risked everything to save her.

That

did not look like the actions of an ordinary businessman.

I saved her

because I know you care about her.

If Ji Yingying had died in that fire,

we would not have been able to work together,

and I would have no way to achieve my own goals.

Our plan has already fallen apart.

What else could you possibly want?

The brocade industry of Yizhou.

That goal has never changed.

But what about you, Mr. Zhao?

Have you changed?

Have you moved on?

Can you give up on her?

Do not test me.

I cannot give up on her.

Then take her back.

But the first thing we need to do

is to destroy Ji Yingying's

relationship with the Yang family.

You win Ji Yingying,

and I will take the Yang family.

But what will you use to do it?

This wine?

Or these women?

I can still wait

for my father-in-law

to kill Yang Jinglan

and reap the rewards without effort. But what about you?

If you wish to collaborate,

what is your offer?

Sir,

Mr. Zhao despises me.

Sir,

you must stand up for me!

Master,

this is Yizhou.

Everyone, leave.

Go.

Investigate the Yang family thoroughly.

Yes, sir!

As long as the rot starts from within,

even the mightiest tree

will eventually fall.

[Excerpt from Classic of Poetry, Odes of Bei, Striking the Drums] To hold your hand

and grow old together.

You said you would marry me.

But now,

you have gone back on your word.

I know

you were forced.

The Yang family forced you.

Bai Sheng forced you.

Yang Jinglan forced you!
