(Under the Skin Ⅱ)

(Episode 2)

What's your relationship with Chen Qin?

Do you know Li Muhe

and the other two victims?

On the day they were killed,

where were you?

I killed them.

(Chen Qin)

(Chen Qin)

(Love you, Chen Qin.)

Fool!

The one in there.

Go clean the bathroom.

Do you know…

what this means?

It's a diamond.

Qin said

the body of sand turns into rotten water;

the heart of diamonds is eternal.

In this world,

most people

are useless.

Before I met Qin,

I was just like them.

Cowardly,

useless,

and worthless.

I was wasting my life.

Until I saw Qin.

His smiles

shine like diamonds.

Qin

is the simplest

and purest person

in this world.

But some people

actually hurt him so deeply.

So you killed them

for Chen Qin?

No!

They deserved it!

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team) They deserved it!

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

They insulted Qin (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

and tried to destroy him completely!

I'd never allow them

to do it.

So,

I killed them.

Do you know

the consequences of murder?

Yes.

A life for a life.

I was waiting

for you to arrest me.

Then why did you run away

after killing them?

After the killing,

you should've

waited for the police at the scene.

Why did you

squeeze into

the narrow giraffe

at the risk of suffocation

to let

the cleaning staff take you out

the next day?

Why?

Because I wanted

to see Qin perform for the last time.

Without those three clowns,

his performance that day

was perfect.

♫Break everything♫ was perfect.

He was born to be an artist. ♫Break everything♫

He was born to be an artist.

♫The suffocating whirlpool♫ He was born to be an artist.

And ♫The suffocating whirlpool♫

And

♫Locked you and me up♫ And

he's a top-tier artist. ♫Locked you and me up♫

he's a top-tier artist.

Chen Qin, Chen Qin, Chen Qin!

Chen Qin, Chen Qin, Chen Qin!

Yuan Zhaodi

lived with her relatives when she was young.

Her parents took her brother to work in the city.

She lived

with her grandma and aunt.

A left-behind child.

After graduating from junior high,

she found a job in the city

and spent all the money she earned

on Chen Qin's albums

and merch.

In Chen Qin's fan club,

she's the earliest

and most loyal fan.

Captain Cheng.

I have a question.

Yuan Zhaodi

is thin and small.

She killed three men

all by herself?

Is that really possible?

At the scene,

no trace of anyone else was found.

In Yuan Zhaodi,

I noticed two kinds of vibes

that were completely different yet mingled together.

Look.

Mr. Shen.

Do you mean Yuan Zhaodi

was acting

when interrogated?

She was acting to convince us

that she was the murderer.

Some of her emotions were true,

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team) Some of her emotions were true,

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

but I suspect (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

she was hiding something.

I found some clues.

In Yuan Zhaodi's phone,

she followed Chen Qin

on almost all social media platforms.

She often sent him messages

or commented on

his posts.

Chen Qin has never

replied to her.

But we've found that

they're actually friends

on WeChat.

I printed out

some of their chats.

We can see

Chen Qin often complained to Yuan Zhaodi,

(TBBT-Chen Qin) Chen Qin often complained to Yuan Zhaodi,

Chen Qin often complained to Yuan Zhaodi,

(They bully me every day. It's too much.) Chen Qin often complained to Yuan Zhaodi,

(They bully me every day. It's too much.)

saying he was bullied, (They bully me every day. It's too much.)

(Every day, they bully and exploit me.) (I'm their doormat. They took it all out on me.)

exploited, (Every day, they bully and exploit me.) (I'm their doormat. They took it all out on me.)

(Every day, they bully and exploit me.) (I'm their doormat. They took it all out on me.)

(I've been working so hard. Why should I be dragged down with them? I won't accept it.) (I'm rooting for you, Qin.)

and ignored. (I've been working so hard. Why should I be dragged down with them? I won't accept it.) (I'm rooting for you, Qin.)

(I've been working so hard. Why should I be dragged down with them? I won't accept it.) (I'm rooting for you, Qin.)

He was quite emotional sometimes

and even mentioned

(TBBT-Chen Qin) and even mentioned

(It wasn't easy for me to join TBBT. I cherish it so much but they don't.) (I see no point in living like this.) (I'd rather take my own life to end this torture.)

suicide. (It wasn't easy for me to join TBBT. I cherish it so much but they don't.) (I see no point in living like this.) (I'd rather take my own life to end this torture.)

(It wasn't easy for me to join TBBT. I cherish it so much but they don't.) (I see no point in living like this.) (I'd rather take my own life to end this torture.)

Obviously,

he had a huge impact

(They're beasts! I wish I could suffer for you.) he had a huge impact

(They're beasts! I wish I could suffer for you.)

on Yuan Zhaodi's mood. (They're beasts! I wish I could suffer for you.)

(They're beasts! I wish I could suffer for you.)

(I wish I could take the humiliation for you.)

She wished she could take the humiliation for him. (I wish I could take the humiliation for you.)

(I wish I could take the humiliation for you.)

Look.

Throughout their chats,

he never mentioned killing them,

but that was the only intent

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team) but that was the only intent

he implied. (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

When Yuan Zhaodi

chatted with Chen Qin,

she kept emphasizing that

she was useful.

This girl doesn't have

much sense of value.

So, in summary,

Chen Qin

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team) Chen Qin

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

incited Yuan Zhaodi to kill those people. (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

But in these chats,

not a single line can directly prove

Chen Qin incited

Yuan Zhaodi to kill people.

Do you know Yuan Zhaodi?

Let me read something

to you.

They asked me to wash the toilet again today.

I really don't understand.

Do they mean to push me to the brink?

If they keep doing this,

TBBT can't go far.

We'll end up on a law show sooner or later.

I've been working so hard.

Why should I be dragged down with them?

I had a dream last night

where they all died.

When I woke up, I thought it was a beautiful dream.

I know her.

She's a fan of mine.

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

Why did you say these things (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

to a fan? (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

(TBBT-Chen Qin)

I was in too much pain. (TBBT-Chen Qin)

I needed someone to talk to.

She's been my fan for years.

We're friends.

We've found

Yuan Zhaodi.

She admitted

she killed

your three teammates.

Since everything's clear,

can I leave now?

What's your relationship

with Yuan Zhaodi?

Did you incite her to kill?

I told you,

she's a fan of mine.

If you have enough evidence,

you can sue me.

But you can't

accuse me of solicitation of murder

just based on our chats.

You're just trying to get off the hook.

I'm cooperating with your investigation,

Officer.

Yan.

Let me do it.

Good acting.

As expected from a former child star.

We've checked.

Yuan Zhaodi isn't the fan who has spent

the most money on you.

You have a lot of rich female fans

who bought up the products you endorsed

store by store.

Why did you choose to complain to her?

I chat

with those rich women too.

With people older than me,

I share the joy of life.

With people younger than me,

I share the worries of growing up.

They have different needs,

and I meet them differently.

Creating a loving atmosphere

requires skill.

Only by inspiring the fans' imagination can I be popular.

Is it possible that

your fan thought you were in a lot of pain

because of what you said

and went all out

to relieve

your pain?

I don't know.

Officer,

I just provided the service

that an idol should provide.

I treated hardcore fans as they should be.

Chen Qin.

You call yourself an idol.

But an idol should be

a role model.

What did you do?

One of your fans

killed three people for you!

You don't deserve to be an idol.

Yuan Zhaodi's life is ruined.

Have you ever thought about

how it would end up for her?

How would it end up for her?

She'll be sentenced to death.

Are you done?

Can I leave now?

His tears

didn't seem fake.

Qin said

the body of sand turns into rotten water;

the heart of diamonds is eternal.

Where is that glove?

(Love you, Chen Qin.)

(Chen Qin)

(Chen Qin)

(Chen Qin)

Is it this?

Yes.

That's it.

(Public Security)

The result of Chen Qin's toxicology test

is out.

Positive.

He lied.

Captain Cheng.

I recovered the data

from the three victims' phones

and found this video.

You're always pulling a long face,

aren't you?

I'll straighten you out today.

Come, step on his hand.

Please let me go.

Inhale.

Who are you begging?

Inhale.

We're family, aren't we?

Family should be together.

Stick it up.

Come on.

Here.

Look at the camera.

We're family!

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

So he was forced to use drugs. (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

Who'd have known (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

they did such a terrible thing? (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

Does this mean Chen Qin

had more of a motive to kill them?

This only means he was forced to take drugs.

It can't prove

he incited Yuan Zhaodi to kill.

(Beijiang Public Security Branch)

I have an idea. (Beijiang Public Security Branch)

(Beijiang Public Security Branch)

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

At your house, (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

I found a glove. (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

It has the same pattern as the glove

on the mannequin bride on stage.

They're a pair.

That was the wedding

of you and Chen Qin,

right?

(Qin)

You are

the second person besides Qin

who can

understand me.

So,

you think…

you and Chen Qin are really together?

Of course.

Qin held that wedding

for me.

That was Chen Qin's performance.

There were thousands of you before the stage.

But I'm unique.

Are you?

Yuan Zhaodi isn't the fan who has

spent the most money on you.

Why did you choose

to complain to her?

I chat

with those rich women too.

With people older than me,

I share the joy of life.

With people younger than me,

I share the worries of growing up.

They have different needs,

and I meet them differently.

Creating a loving atmosphere

requires skill.

Only by inspiring the fans' imagination can I be popular.

You love him so much.

But for Chen Qin,

it was just a performance.

His love for you

is all in your imagination.

No.

We love each other.

But I can't see it.

He treats you

just like how he treats

his countless other fans.

This is his job.

As he said,

he just provided the service

that an idol should provide.

Wake up, Yuan Zhaodi!

It's all in your imagination!

Shut up!

Shut up!

-Qin loves me! -It's fake!

Qin loves me!

Wake up. He doesn't love you!

How can you prove it?

He kissed me!

He kissed me.

It's all true.

Just now…

I was acting.

You acted so well.

I was scared.

I learned it from you.

Gather round!

I interrogated

Yuan Zhaodi just now.

(TBBT Dormitory Murder Case)

She believed (TBBT Dormitory Murder Case)

(TBBT Dormitory Murder Case)

the wedding on stage (TBBT Dormitory Murder Case)

was meant for her from Chen Qin.

So I kept

provoking her

and telling her

Chen Qin's love for her was fake.

In the end,

she said that the two of them

once kissed.

They kissed?

At that moment, all her reactions

showed that

it should be true.

Combined with the glove we found,

I've come to the conclusion that

Chen Qin and Yuan Zhaodi

do have

some kind of feelings

for each other.

And

they're covering up a promise

they made to each other.

It was a conspiracy.

Then how did the murderer know

when the camera

would be turned or covered?

How did she know

when the three victims

would be immobile?

Could it be that on the night of the murder,

Chen Qin helped Yuan Zhaodi?

Why did you call me here?

You're about the same height as Chen Qin.

Stand here for me

as a model.

What do you want?

I'll try to find out

why Chen Qin stopped here

based on the shadow

caught on camera.

Is this okay?

Yeah. Wait for me.

Alright, Du Cheng.

Now,

get down.

Du Cheng.

What now?

Kneel.

Kneeling.

Okay.

Now,

put that monkey

on the ground

with its head towards you.

Look at its eyes.

Okay.

Now,

kiss that monkey.

Kiss it.

Didn't Little Eggshell say

Chen Qin kissed her?

Help me recreate that moment.

How long should I keep kissing it?

A bit longer.

Chen Qin stopped for one minute

to kiss Little Eggshell?

It seems

only Little Eggshell

can tell us the truth.

What is this?

What do you think

this painting is about?

I think

it's a wedding.

I want to tell you about this painting.

Are you interested?

Yes.

The painter of the original version

spent his whole life

drawing paintings

about his wife.

Wedding dresses,

grooms,

and brides

are all important elements in his paintings.

Just like Qin and me.

You still don't understand.

The Black Glove has strong colors

and distorted forms.

It shows the strong surges

of emotions in the painter.

Look at that bride.

In unstable surroundings,

she's the only one

who's covered

in steady brightness.

She represents true love.

But do you see

the black glove by her feet?

That's an ominous fear.

A house that will collapse at any time.

A crimson bird.

Everything is chaotic,

distorted,

and struggling.

This painting

shows the dangers

in a romantic relationship.

Like the groom in the painting.

So far away

and small.

Chen Qin is the same.

He's just a fictional man

you made up for yourself.

He's not real.

He is.

In this world,

he's the first person

to care so much about me.

He's not that boy!

No!

He's an imposter, isn't he?

Even an impression is better than this.

I shouldn't have come.

We'd made it clear before we came.

The boy has grown older.

Of course he looks different.

He's been booed off the stage,

yet you still want me to pay you?

Impossible.

That's your problem,

not ours.

You are Chen Qin.

I can prove it.

I watched Stars After Sunset.

In it,

you told your sister

not to be afraid

because you'd protect her.

That show is very old.

Are you wearing that

for a deceased family?

My grandma died.

Now,

no one cares for me.

That's great.

I hope my parents can leave me alone,

but they keep taking me around for gigs

to make money.

You're useful if you can make money.

That's great!

Don't be upset.

Let me perform something for you.

(For plot purposes. Please do not try this.)

W-What are you doing?

It's dislocated.

Why aren't you laughing?

Every time I do this,

people laugh.

Y-You can't do this.

You're harming yourself.

He encouraged me to leave my original home

and give myself a new home.

I listened.

From then on,

wherever he went,

I followed him there

to do part-time jobs.

He told me about all his worries.

He also shared

happy moments with me.

I know everything about him.

Isn't this love?

You've just projected the love you desire

onto him.

But Chen Qin

can't represent love.

Because love is bright.

Love won't make you pick up a knife.

The moment

you held that knife up,

you were already consumed

by the darkness and evil around you.

Yuan Zhaodi.

It's not wrong to sacrifice for love.

But sacrificing your life

for a kiss

that didn't mean anything

is not worth it.

If he didn't love me,

why did he kiss me

and save me?

His breath

was hot.

His blood

was so sweet.

What happened to your lip?

I hit it by accident a few days ago.

It's all true.

It really happened,

didn't it?

Didn't it?

It's all make-believe.

Only when you believe

this love is real

can you do anything for him.

At the end of the day,

you just want to prove

you're useful.

(Forensic Identification Center of Beijiang City Public Security Bureau) (Blood Test Report)

As you guessed,

in the giraffe-shaped stool,

we found trace amounts of blood.

(Conclusion: The analysis of samples 1 and 2 revealed that the bloodstains on the giraffe-shaped stool are similar to those of Chen Qin.)

It matches (Conclusion: The analysis of samples 1 and 2 revealed that the bloodstains on the giraffe-shaped stool are similar to those of Chen Qin.)

(Conclusion: The analysis of samples 1 and 2 revealed that the bloodstains on the giraffe-shaped stool are similar to those of Chen Qin.)

Chen Qin's DNA. (Conclusion: The analysis of samples 1 and 2 revealed that the bloodstains on the giraffe-shaped stool are similar to those of Chen Qin.)

(Conclusion: The analysis of samples 1 and 2 revealed that the bloodstains on the giraffe-shaped stool are similar to those of Chen Qin.)

We've confirmed that

after the murder, before it dawned,

you met Yuan Zhaodi.

You even kissed her.

We also found blood

in the giraffe-shaped stool

at the scene.

It matches

your DNA.

The wound on your lip

was caused at that time, right?

Yuan Zhaodi admitted that

you told her

when and where

to kill the victims.

You even offered her

the motive.

It was a conspiracy.

Qin?

What are you doing here?

You're back.

Are you hungry?

Come and eat.

Why are you eating these things?

They'll make you gain weight.

You can't eat that!

Don't take mine.

Eggshell.

There's more over there.

Eat them.

I never knew

how drugs could make you feel.

They forced you to do it?

They forced me to take a few whiffs.

I'll kill them!

Qin.

Qin.

I'm serious.

Just let me

be useful for once,

will you?

I have to go.

Qin, wait.

If you agree,

give me a wedding…

in your performance.

Consider it our wedding.

If I can marry you,

I don't mind dying.

Afterward,

I talked with the producer

and made "wedding" the theme

of the performance.

We announced it on Weibo.

I promised her that.

I thought about

telling her to quit.

Qin.

I'm here.

I made it.

Yes.

But I can't hold on any longer.

It'll be over soon.

Hang in there, okay?

The cleaner will come at 5 a.m.

You'll be free then.

I really didn't want her feelings

to be unreciprocated.

I want to know

what Yuan Zhaodi

means to you.

She's the only audience who understands me.

If she lives,

I live.

If she dies,

I die.

In order to prove

she was useful,

she killed people

and believed

it was all for love.

How absurd.

If Chen Qin hadn't been so selfish

and had cherished her love,

maybe they wouldn't have ended up like this.

Humanity is

complicated.

His love is true.

It's also true

that he's selfish and cowardly.

Alright.

A crime is a crime.

They need to bear the consequences of it.

(Beijiang City Public Security Bureau, Beijiang Branch)

Captain Cheng.

Eat something.

You've been working all day

without eating anything.

Here.

Cold noodles?

The water was not hot.

So I had to

use lukewarm water.

I'll just drink this.

It's refreshing.

By the way,

I'm almost done here.

Wrap it up after going back.

Write a case closing report.

No problem.

I'll eat this then.

Director Zhang said

the packing is exhausting.

She asked me to buy drinks for everyone

for refreshment.

Thank you.

Yours is different.

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

(Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

Three boxes, right? (Beijiang Criminal Investigation Team)

Three boxes, right?

Okay, put them there.

Refresh yourself.

Director Zhang.

The case is closed?

Yes.

How's the packing?

Almost done.

Jiang.

Did you buy drinks

for everyone as I asked?

They're on the table.

Distribute them.

Okay.

Come on, guys!

Finish packing soon

so we can get off work early.

Okay.

Zheng, give me a hand.

Coming.

Here's another box.
