THE BODY FOUND! HELP!

Dad.

I've finally caught the killer who murdered you.

But Dr. Chen is not the only one I'm after.

I remember you said,

when there are people around,

one should be a good person.

When there's no one around,

one should be an even better person.

Hong Kong News.

This March, a cargo ship caught a three-alarm fire.

Fire Chief Zhang Qiang led his team to the rescue.

He was scorched by the heat wave.

However, he still bravely rushed into the blaze

and successfully rescued 12 crew members.

Today, the government awarded Senior Fireman Zhang a commendation

for his heroic deeds.

Son, did you hear that?

Daddy is so awesome.

He received another commendation.

When I grow up, I want to be a firefighter.

- I want to get awards. - Good for you.

Tianming, my naive son.

Being a firefighter isn't about receiving awards

but saving people.

Do you understand?

Be a good person when people are watching.

Be a better person when they are not watching.

What's the point in that?

Officer Liu was such a good cop.

Why did he die?

Why?

What should I do?

Actually, I've been thinking these past few days.

Why I wanted to be a police officer?

I have always believed

that I am protecting my family,

protecting other people's families,

and finding the true perpetrator who killed my father.

I have always felt

that I didn't choose to be a cop.

But being a cop chose me.

I thought I inherited my father's genes.

I still remember my father told me,

he became a forensic expert

to help innocent people seek justice.

I really didn't expect

that he was behind all this.

Sorry, Officer Zhang.

It's not your fault.

To this day,

I still don't know how to go on from here.

That's right.

We did find evidence of Sundess' guilt.

But the cost was too much.

Does it have to be this way?

Maybe this is what we, as officers, have to face.

There are many things we cannot control.

Freeze!

Stop it! Police!

Stop it!

- The newcomer, Liu Weitao. - Officer Yao.

Officer Yao!

Officer Yao! Officer Yao!

Come up, quickly!

Everyone in my team is an idiot.

You're the dumbest.

You used to be the boss, accustomed to giving orders.

But here today,

you are the junior.

Bear with it, please?

I order you to close the case!

Close the case now?

Are you going to let the real culprit get away with it?

You came from 1993 to 2018.

I helped you every time.

But this time I can't help you.

I'm afraid you'll die.

Officer Yao.

You are really crazy about cases, even risking your life.

After over 20 years, I've learned about 30% of that from you.

It's enough, though,

for someone like me to make it to Chief Inspector.

I'm considered your successor.

A strong low-pressure trough is approaching Hong Kong.

The Observatory predicts, around midnight,

there will be a thunderstorm

reaching a level of number eight Typhoon Signal.

All citizens please be careful.

You're looking for me?

You're soaked through.

You didn't bring an umbrella?

It doesn't matter.

There's something I want to do for you.

Here.

Here.

You come here so late

just to make me an omelet rice?

When you were little, I was busy with work.

I was out catching thieves the day you were born.

I didn't have time to be with you,

nor could I make your favorite food.

I could only make omelette rice.

Daddy, I'm hungry.

Hurry.

No rush, no rush.

It's fresh, warm, and really delicious.

Omelette rice must come with ketchup to taste good.

Here.

A star standing for Xingyao,

and a sun standing for…

A sun standing for Daddy!

Daddy's name is Yang Guangyao.

And it stands for the sun. Clever!

But stars

come out at night.

The sun is in the day.

They don't stay together.

Silly girl.

The stars and the sun are both in the sky.

You just can't see them.

Let's dig in. It's getting cold. Here.

Take a bite.

That's literally a mouthful.

It's the first time Dad made a meal for you.

Be nice. Is it good?

It's so delicious.

Really? If it's delicious, eat more, here.

Wait.

A sun,

standing for Yang Guangyao.

A star,

standing for Xingyao.

I know you might not remember.

The night before I disappeared in 1993,

I promised you

to come back the next morning and make this meal for you.

When you wake up and open your eyes,

you would see your daddy

and also see your favorite omelette rice. Be a good girl.

I could never have imagined,

it would take over 20 years

for me to fulfill this promise.

I am sorry.

Come on, let's eat, before it gets cold.

How is it? Is it tasty?

Delicious.

Too salty.

I'll make another one.

No need. I really think it's delicious.

Practice more.

You could make another one for me next time.

We may not have the chance.

Perhaps it's fate,

bringing me to 2018 to investigate the case.

Now that the case is solved,

I might have the chance to go back.

When?

Waiting for the number eight typhoon signal.

Tonight?

I don't understand. Why every time you play hide and seek with our daughter,

you let her find you so quickly?

She looks so flustered under the tree calling for daddy.

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER HIT BY A CAR

It's heart-wrenching. I can't bear it.

I can't find you either,

but you can bear it, huh?

Where are you going?

- Just a moment. I'll be back soon. - Are you safe?

What should we do if something happens to you?

Yao disappeared for over 20 years. He won't just appear.

Twenty-five years in your world,

two days ago in my world.

I have to solve this case to go back.

What are you doing? Stop it!

You're a police officer, not a hoodlum.

Omelette rice. Not interested?

I'll eat it later.

Why are you doing this?

Are you a pervert?

Why are you and I pasted together?

Let me introduce someone to you.

She is very important to me.

Since you're here, give a bow.

My name is Yang Guangyao.

When you were six years old, you witnessed a traffic accident.

And you lost your memory.

Xingyao.

In fact, you are really my daughter, Xingyao.

Do you remember?

MOTHER DIED, DAUGHTER WITNESSED THE SCENE

I'll take off my jacket.

Don't even think about it. Dressed like that,

you're showing too much skin.

Besides, you'll catch a sniffle.

- What's "catch a sniffle"? - You'll get a cold!

Actually, I should be thanking you.

I always wanted to know the answer.

In fact, no matter what,

nothing is more important than family.

Welcome back.

This hard drive has a self-destruct mechanism.

If we crack it by force,

it will automatically destroy all the data.

The only way right now

is to get the password from the owner.

Understood.

Thank you, Mike.

What Sundess' condition now?

He called the police as soon as he woke up,

claiming that someone set a fire to murder him.

and that his valuable belongings were stolen.

Talk about flipping the script.

We know full well he's the culprit.

But we just can't do anything to him.

It's not just that.

He also claims that his life is severely threatened,

requesting police protection,

until he leaves Hong Kong.

Not only does he want to use us to protect him,

he also wants to mislead outsiders

that he's the victim.

No matter what, we definitely cannot let him go.

Our colleagues from VIP Protection Unit

will protect you 24 hours a day.

Let us know if you need anything.

We will try to meet your requirements.

Today, you have got the service attitude right.

Officer Zhang, no problems here.

The Feng Shui master I hired once said,

I need an eternal lamp to attract prosperity.

Now that the setup is gone,

why not set one up here?

Shenju.

I've always said

the Hong Kong police force is the best in the world.

Thanks.

Many stores sell fake set-top boxes.

The boxes are real, but the chips inside are fake.

Can we also use this method?

You mean,

we switch the drive,

make him think it's real,

and get him to enter the password?

Exactly.

It's connected.

He's entering it.

ACCOUNT: ADAM SUNDESS

PASSWORD: SUNXX28474DESS

Open the real drive now.

What's wrong?

The password is fake.

All data is being destroyed.

Is there any other way?

Kaiqing.

The password was fake.

All the evidence inside has been destroyed.

Thanks.

Officers.

Why does everyone look so distressed?

Aren't you more distressed?

We broke up like that,

and you lost billions.

Just a little money.

I just consider it charity.

It really feels good to do a good deed.

I'm suddenly feeling a bit hungry.

Officers.

Would you mind helping me

buy something for linner?

What should I eat?

I want…

From Tycoon Tower,

Kippin abalone, the kind from South-Africa.

And one bowl of

black sesame soup. It's good for beauty.

You can order something too, let's eat together.

Seriously?

Spending 9,300 HKD for a meal.

This money must be dirty.

Officer, I'll go get water. What would you like?

- There's some in the trunk. - I'll go get it.

I bought this before.

I planned to give it to you after this case.

Why would you give me this?

I'm not doing this as your supervisor.

Let's hang out more and listen to Beyond's songs.

Sure, next time.

Thank you.

How come you're here?

I bought takeout for your dad.

This is against rules.

I know.

It's your dad's favorite restaurant.

I made a reservation before to celebrate his birthday.

But there's no chance now.

So, I want to buy some takeout to let him know my feelings.

Sorry, Mommy.

This is really not permitted.

I understand. But this is probably

the last chance.

I won't see him again.

Could you give it to him?

Just as a keepsake, okay?

I can't do this either.

He won't have the chance to eat it again.

And I won't be able to see him again.

Sorry, Mommy.

- It's okay. - Dr. Zhou.

Thank you.

I'll let you get on with your work.

- Excuse me. - Hello.

- Where is my takeout? - Over there.

Thanks.

This takeout

was bought by Mom for you.

But according to the regulation, I can't give it to you to eat.

She bought it herself, right?

Did she say something else?

I just went to buy takeout for Sundess.

I met Mommy at the restaurant.

Mommy said

she had reserved a spot for your birthday meal.

But there probably won't be a chance.

I just want you to know,

Mommy cares about you a lot.

I know.

Didn't I say earlier that I wanted

to treat you officers to a meal?

Didn't you order anything?

You're embarrassing me.

I ordered black sesame soup. Why is it white?

This is almond tea.

What were you thinking?

Hello.

Hello, is there anything unusual?

No.

When Kaiqing and I went to buy takeout at the restaurant,

we ran into Dr. Zhou.

She also bought takeout for Dr. Chen.

After she met me and Kaiqing,

she asked Kaiqing to deliver it.

What's wrong?

- Call an ambulance. - Okay.

Breaking News

Famous philanthropist Sir Sundess

was suspected of being poisoned while under police protection.

In critical condition, he was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment.

This must be investigated.

A group of beneficiaries of the Sundess Charity Foundation

are waiting for news at the hospital entrance.

The spokesperson strongly condemned the severe negligence of the police,

and demanded an immediate explanation from the police,

whether any police officers need to be held accountable.

Okay, I know.

Thank you.

How's Sundess doing?

He's in the ICU.

Not sure if he'll survive the night.

May God not let him die so soon.

Make him suffer slowly.

And the restaurant?

We checked the waiters and the kitchen staff, nothing suspicious.

The restaurant has five cameras.

All have been checked.

No clues found.

There is a blindspot where they place takeouts.

Can't capture who picked up the delivery.

Maybe someone poisoned the food there.

However,

I got the surveillance videos from nearby shops.

Let's see if there are any clues.

Good, let's get to work.

Hello.

Police.

We'd like to check the reservation records.

Okay.

This is our reservation record.

Thanks.

Mommy didn't book a birthday meal that day.

So, the encounter was not a coincidence.

She deliberately followed us.

Dr. Zhou is taking a risk.

Didn't she worry about the cameras?

Furthermore,

the guys didn't eat the food, luckily.

Otherwise, they'd get into trouble.

Call Dr. Zhou. We must find her.

- Officer Yao. - Tianming.

We didn't find any clues in the shops' footage.

Did you find anything on your end?

Dr. Zhou's suspicious. We will keep looking.

She's not answering.

HERE RESTS ZHOU ERDI

Grandma.

I've been waiting for this day

for 28 years.

You can rest now.

Hello?

He's asleep.

What's the matter?

Keep an eye on him.

Call me immediately if he leaves home.

What happened?

Has Sundess arrived in Hong Kong?

Just do as I say and stay in touch.

Darling.

Finally, the day has come.

Manyi, you stay here tonight.

Why?

The police must have set a trap.

Even if we successfully took out Sundess tonight,

we won't get away.

I don't wanna get you in trouble.

And I don't want that for you.

For all these years, we've done everything together.

Don't you leave me behind.

SUNDESS STABLE AND AWAKE

TOOK CYANIDE SUNDESS ONCE IN CRITICAL CONDITION

HOSPITAL SAYS HE IS AWAKE AND STABLE

Any leads?

No leads at all.

It's completely unclear how Mommy is related to Sundess.

The news just reported on Sundess' condition.

If Dr. Zhou is really the killer,

what will she do next?

- Take us to her office to take a look. - Okay.

Kaiqing.

Mini Storage Rental Adjustment?

She lives in such a big house.

A mini storage?

Mom has never mentioned that.

Time is pressing. I'll go to the office.

You guys go to the mini storage.

I'll go with you.

Don't worry, I can handle it myself.

- Are you sure you? - I trust Mommy.

She will not harm me.

Be careful.

Mommy, where are you?

What happened?

I'm worried about you. Please call me back soon.

MOMMY

Hello, Mommy, where are you?

I'm very worried about you.

Kaiqing.

I guess you are all looking for me now.

I can tell you everything.

But promise me.

You must come alone.

Otherwise,

you will never see me again.

Okay, Mommy.

I promise you.

Where are you?

Lots of clothes for the aged.

Keep searching.

I found something.

ZHOU ERDI

Zhou Erdi?

Zhou Erdi, it sounds familiar.

She is one of the victims of the fire case.

I know you have many questions for me.

Today,

I will tell you all the truth.

I don't think I've ever told you about my childhood.

I called you here today

to tell you,

this is my grandmother.

When I was young,

I, with my dad, mom, and grandma.

HERE RESTS ZHOU ERDI

A family of four.

We immigrated to Canada.

We lived a happy life.

Until one day,

my dad and mom jumped off a building.

The stock market crash

led to our bankruptcy.

All the money was gone.

So, my grandmother and I

returned to Hong Kong.

Do you like it?

Yeah.

It's a bit dirty.

Let's take it home. I'll mend it and wash it.

Awesome! Thank you, Grandmother, you're amazing!

Naive girl.

- I'll help you push it. - Okay.

Good kid.

We take it home, wash it, patch it up, and it'll be good as new.

That's great!

All right, you can go have some fun.

No need to help me.

Careful.

Let's take the things out.

Here.

Old woman, business is good, eh?

Business hasn't picked up yet.

I gave you the money, remember?

No money, huh?

What are you doing?

Don't bully Grandma!

Don't bully Grandma!

I'll call the police!

Call the police? Call the police?

Why are you bullying my granddaughter?

You want to call the police?

Don't bully my granddaughter!

Why did you hit my granddaughter!

Call the police?

Do you know how my grandma died?

It wasn't an accident.

It was a fire.

My Grandma went to Vista Tower,

to visit a friend,

and was burned to death.

Why did fate treat me like this?

My only kin.

All gone.

LEE THEATER

NO SEATS AVAILABLE

Wasn't the Lee Theater demolished in 1991?

So, Dr. Chen lied.

He didn't meet Dr. Zhou in Canada.

They met in Hong Kong before 1991.

Also, look at this one.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL REPORT CARD 1979, SECOND SEMESTER, FOURTH GRADE

Cai Baoying?

Dr. Zhou also changed her name.

Cai Baoying.

He Qingcai.

They are both families of the deceased.

They changed their names

to seek revenge.

Perhaps God thought that I've suffered too much,

so, by fate, when I was paying respects to Grandma,

I met your daddy.

Your dad told me,

this fire,

wasn't an accident.

It was arson.

My grandma and his daddy

were both killed by someone.
