Do you want me to write a note?

Write... to Hong Mei.

Your name is Hong Mei?

[To Hong Mei, Xu Youyi]

She's so rude!

Your things!

Where are you going?

You... who are you?

Where's Hong Mei?

Sleeping in her room.

She's not.

Where did that little girl run off to again?

Did she break your things or did she offend you?

She's been missing for two days. You didn't know?

Two days?

I said it before.

I can't let this kid have any money.

Let me tell you.

If she has caused trouble, I don't have any money to pay you.

Do you know where she might go?

How would I know?

She'll come back once she's tired and has no more money.

What has this got to do with you?

Who are you?

[Ho-Kuang Photo Studio]

Make way, make way!

Rickshaw!

Coming!

Knife sharpening! Scissors sharpening!

Where's Hong Mei?

Cape jasmine!

[Shanghai Municipal Police Station]

Who are you to that girl?

She's been dead for two days already.

She was hit by a car

and no one came to claim the body.

Registration is done. She's inside.

I'll take you there.

[Morgue]

Here, she's inside.

That day I went out to play

and I happened to see her on my way back...

What happened to her?

I didn't manage to stop her in time.

What...

Hong Mei!

They drove off!

Hong Mei!

Hong Mei, are you okay?

Hong Mei!

Don't die! Don't die!

She's not dead!

Please save her!

Hold on!

She was hit by a car.

- Hong Mei. - She's not dead?

Find a car to take her to the hospital.

- Help! - Maybe she can be saved.

Does anyone know this girl?

Please help her!

Does she have any family?

Are you a doctor?

Help her, please!

I'm begging you.

Make way, don't get in my way.

Is he a doctor?

- Nobody move. - He probably is.

Don't move her.

Next, let's witness together the miracle of life!

Miracle?

That's incredible!

Wonderful! Amazing!

Wonderful! Great! [The great magician]

Amazing! Wow!

Zhen Shan? I've come into contact with him before.

He got famous by performing dangerous magic.

In order to delve into dangerous magic,

he bought a few kids.

The number of people's deaths he's caused isn't just one or two,

but he has money and now is an artist.

It is a popular performance at the Shanghai Cultural Festival.

He's talented so no one can do anything to him.

What are you going to do when you go back?

Be a common person.

You can't do it.

What a coincidence. I've run into you again.

I'm really hard up recently.

Do you mind giving me some money?

You...

You!

[Ho-Kuang Photo Studio]

[Shanghai Huamao Hotel]

Bureau Chief Wang.

You're late.

Sorry, sorry.

This way, please.

Thank you.

That's the famous author, right?

- Yes, that's Xu Youyi. - Wow.

She's so pretty.

Her elegance is outstanding.

Miss Zhang, your letter.

Thank you.

Youyi, go to the make up room first.

I'll check if the dress is here yet.

Okay, thank you.

Go on.

[I'm waiting for you on the second floor]

[Zhou]

Master Zhen.

Tonight's finale performance is your water escape trick.

Make sure it doesn't go wrong.

Don't worry.

I've never made a mistake before.

Who are you?

What are you doing here?

Youyi is here too.

Are you not afraid?

Look at the dress I prepared specially for you.

What happened?

Okay, okay, okay! Master Zhen would like to invite an assistant from the audience.

I hope Ms. Xu Youyi can come up and help me.

He's been in the water a long time.

The lock! The lock!

The lock!

Miracle of life.

Make way!

The Death of Magician Zhen Shan!

Newspaper boy!

Extra, read all about it! Extra, read all about it!

The Death of Magician Zhen Shan!

[Ho-Kuang Photo Studio]

It's been three days. Have you thought it through?

Yes. I have! I have!

Speak!

That day... I wasn't driving.

I lent the car to my friend! It really wasn't me!

I wasn't driving!

Who did you lend it to?

I lent it to Zhang Wan! Zhang Wan! Zhang Wan!

The owner isn't even here.

I am here.

Are you the only one working here?

Yes.

You're quite young.

We're here to take photos for Madame Shanghai's promotions.

Make sure to make our Youyi look good.

Done.

Can I see it?

Not yet.

You can see them when you collect the photos.

All right.

Thank you.

Youyi, are you all right?

You didn't get hurt, did you?

I'm fine.

Youyi, what's wrong with you today?

Nothing. I'm just tired.

- When can we get the photos? - In three days.

- Can you deliver them? - Yes.

How much is it?

15 for two sets. Pay first.

Your name and address.

Zhang Wan.

Your curtains are beautiful.

[Zhang Wan]

[Beloved Daughter, Li Hong Mei]

How could you leave just like this?

I really raised you for nothing!

You waste of money!

[Beloved Daughter, Li Hong Mei]

Do you know how much I've suffered for you?

That's enough. Don't cry anymore. Okay?

This child doesn't have fate with you. Let's go back.

Let's go, let's go.

Come on, help us. Carry the basket.

Be careful. Let's go. Let's go.

Don't look anymore, let's go.

Let's go. Let's go, all right?

[Beloved Daughter, Li Hong Mei]

Have a seat.

Thank you.

What are you doing?

Cover the pot!

Is porridge okay?

You have to use yesterday's rice for fried rice.

Eat.

Do you want any?

Are you hungry?

I...

I'll sit for a while longer. I'll leave once the rain stops.

It's our second time meeting, but I still don't know your name.

I'm Xu Youyi. Thank you for today.

I live on Yujia Lane in the Settlement,

the third building from the east.

If you need anything in the future, you can come and ask for help.

The woman who came with you last time.

Is her name Zhang Wan?

She left an address. Is that her house?

What?

48 Baiyu Alley.

She asked me to send the photos there.

Yes.

But you don't have to send them. I'll take the photos with me.

- You're welcome. - What?

You made the porridge. You don't have to thank me.

[Ho-Kuang Photo Studio]

Red Bean Osmanthus Soup!

Lotus Seed Porridge!

Sweet and glutinous!

It's morning already.

It was nice to meet you

and thank you for letting me stay the night.

I called a rickshaw for you.

Goodbye.

Thank you.

Are you crazy?

She wants to fire me.

You're not even worried about me, just watching it happen.

Are you both trying to kill me?!

How am I not worried about you?

She is the one who hired you. I have never interfered in this before!

I... What can I do?

You're afraid of her, aren't you?

If she just wanted to fire me, that's fine.

But now she wants to put me in a desperate situation!

Zhou Heng, she has told everyone in showbiz not to hire me!

You know about this, right?

She's at her angriest right now.

Can't you just bear with it for a while?

When she simmers down, everything will be fine.

During this period, if you don't have enough money, you can just...

What do you mean?

Do you want me to wait forever for Xu Youyi's mercy?

That's not it.

What right does she have?

Tell me, what gives her the right?!

Without me, would she be who she is today?!

Say something!

Her first book. I got drenched in the rain,

went to seven different publishers to get it published.

Her first booking signing.

I drank with the store manager for half the night to get her the venue.

Without me, would she be who she is today?!

Did you all forget how much I did for her?

Zhang Wan, ask yourself if she has ever mistreated you!

She trusted you so much.

She let you take care of her books.

She let you take care of her money and all the contracts!

How much money have you made off her all these years?

She doesn't even treat me as well as she treats you!

What? Are you speaking up for her now?

No, that's not it.

I just want you to understand

that she didn't let you down. Neither did she let me down.

We are the ones who let her down.

Since she knows about this already,

whatever she does to us is what we deserve.

All these years you've saved quite a bit too.

No matter if you stay in Shanghai,

or go somewhere else,

you can still live a good life.

Zhang Wan.

If you need anything else,

- I still can... - No way!

What?

I said there is no way I will be kicked out like a rat.

What do you mean?

Didn't you say that you can't interfere with her career?

Then you can open a new company for me.

It's not that easy to start a company.

Zhang Wan, we're all adults.

I wasn't the one who made the first move back then.

Besides,

I've treated you well these past two years.

Please don't push it.

Aren't you afraid I'll expose you?

What did you say?

You have such a poor memory.

I said... I'll expose the fact that you ran over and killed someone.

Cheers! Cheers!

Drive slower.

Have a sip! Drink it.

You hit someone!

Don't move!

They drove off!

How could they drive off?

Zhang Wan! Stop the car! What are you doing?

Hurry! Stop the car!

That's absurd! You're the one who did it!

So what if I'm lying?

No one has ever seen me drive before.

I have always said that I can't drive.

Otherwise, we can also

go to the police station to resolve it in detail.

However... where should we start?

We can start from the time we first slept together.

Think carefully.

If I'm left with nothing...

you won't be able to keep your position

as the director of the Department of Transport either.

All right then.

You... don't you regret this.

Don't even try to get rid of me.

Wait.

Chen Yong, seal off two streets!

Raise both your hands.

Now!

Get on your knees, slowly.

Don't move.

No one moves!

Seal off two streets!

Bring all the suspects back to the station!

Don't move!

A murder just happened up ahead!

The killer is still nearby!

Everyone here is a suspect!

Get over here!

Hurry!

[Shanghai Municipal Police Station]

It really happened at the Zhou Mansion.

Another person died.

- Detective Jiang. - Detective.

Detective Jiang is in charge of this case again.

It's such a big case. He'll be really busy.

Yeah.

Detective Jiang.

Detective Jiang.

Detective.

Come clean.

Did you kill Zhang Wan?

I didn't kill her.

She was shot.

Didn't you see?

Cut the crap.

Why did you bring a table knife upstairs?

Others said you were really angry at the time.

You wanted to kill her, right?

Of course I was angry.

She was too shameless!

But I only wanted to reason with her.

I wasn't going to kill her.

She was shameless?

What did she do to you?

Tell me or you'll be sitting here the whole night.

Think about it carefully.

She touched my money

and tampered with my contracts.

That's all?

That's all.

How can you prove it?

Which of your contracts did she tamper with?

We'll need to investigate.

All of them.

Youyi. How was it?

Come on. Sit and rest for a while first.

Director Zhou.

Please make sure you and your wife stay in Shanghai

during our investigation.

No problem.

Although my wife and I didn't do anything,

we'll be happy to cooperate with the police investigation.

Okay. Let's fill out the paperwork over here.

Move. Move!

Hurry up. Hurry!

Hurry up!

Walk faster.

- This way, hurry up! - Go, go. Hurry up!

Keep up!

Hurry up.

Let us out!

Shut up!

You have no right to arrest us!

Shut up!

Stop talking!

Everyone, shut up!

Once you've all given your statements, you can go!

Officer, let us go!

My children are still waiting for me!

You have no right to arrest us! Let us go home!

I want to go home!

Have one, Sir.

When can I be released?

You can't smoke in the station.

So what if you're the police?

You won't let me go or let me smoke.

Do you know who I am?!

Who you are? We'll know soon enough.

- Let us go home! - Let us go!

Boss, the report is done.

The victim is Zhang Wan.

Xu Youyi was holding a knife at the scene,

but we don't know who the killer is yet.

Xu Youyi?

Yes, you know her?

Isn't this that young girl's?

What?

The one who was hit by a car.

The young girl called Hong Mei.

Boss, what is it?

- Hong Mei? - Yes.

Because the magician was taking photos,

they weren't able to send her to the hospital in time.

Magician?

Zhen Shan.

- What is it, Boss? - No... nothing. Let me ask you.

Was it Zhang Wan who hit the girl?

Youyi! I'm sorry.

Please don't be angry.

It was Zhang Wan!

Zhang Wan seduced me!

She... she even coerced me!

- Coerced you? - Yeah.

Coerced you to kiss her and sleep with her?

Isn't it hypocritical for you to say that?

Yes, I'm a hypocrite.

Youyi, taking into account that we've been married for so many years,

can you forgive me this one time?

This one time?

Zhang Wan? No.

We never found the driver who hit her.

That's not right.

Boss. You're back?

You're drinking from my cup again?

So what?

Put it down!

- I'm going to drink! - All right, all right.

Boss, are you okay?

Why wouldn't I be?

Do you know how many people I brought back

from the two streets we cordoned off?

My mouth is all dry from questioning them.

Let's go take a look then.

Right now?

- You go too. - What?

You.

Fire! Fire!

Hurry!

Hurry, hurry!

Fire! Fire!

Hurry! Put out the fire!

Hurry up!

Quickly, come and help!

Fire! Help! Help!

Hurry!

Fire! Fire!

Hurry, this way. Hurry!

Hurry, this way!

Hurry, help!

Hurry, there are still people in there!

There are still people in there!

Fire! Quick!

Quickly! Quick!

Help! Fire!

Check if anyone is upstairs!

[Archives Room]

- Get me more fire extinguishers! - Coming!

Is there anyone still inside?

Here! Here!

Coming!

Be careful! Hurry!

Let's go!

Over here!

Is anyone there?

Is there anyone there?

Over there!

Hurry!

Is there anyone else?

This floor is empty!

Come down now!
