[Couple of Mirrors] [Episode 12]

Xu Youyi.

Xu Youyi!

Wei Wei.

Why are you standing here in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?

You were snoring.

You were the one snoring.

All pregnant women snore.

I asked the doctor.

There's no need to be embarrassed.

Did I disturb you?

No.

Then why...?

I'm worried that you'll disturb it.

Who?

It.

You're snoring so loudly.

What if you disrupt his sleep?

It's so little. How will it grow up without sleep?

Wei Wei, go back and sleep.

Why don't you wear some earplugs?

Maybe if you do,

it won't hear anything then.

Okay, okay, go back to bed.

Hurry up, go on.

Go, go, go, go, go.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Fated Partners in Crime Team @ Viki

What are you doing?

I'm going to sleep here tonight.

Why?

If I fall asleep and snore,

you can wake me up,

so I won't disturb it.

Come here, Little Wei Wei.

Wei Wei.

Wei Wei? Are you asleep?

Yes.

Wei Wei, do you think the baby

is a boy or a girl?

A girl.

Nonsense.

Mrs. Chen, the one who sells sweet porridge next door,

said that my stomach is pointy, so it'll be a boy.

You don't like girls?

That's not it.

I just think that this world

treats men better than women.

Wei Wei.

Tell me...

Will the baby be really sad

if the little one is born without a father?

I can be his father.

Nonsense.

You're a woman, how can you be a father?

Xie Yifan is a man.

Stop joking around.

Either way, I'll treat the baby really well.

Really, really well.

Me too.

Wei Wei.

Let's give the baby a name.

We still don't know if the baby is a boy or a girl.

Then let's choose one of each.

Do you want to take photos?

What photos?

Bureau Chief Wang said that it's very popular for pregnant women to take photos

as a keepsake.

I don't want to.

Take them.

I don't want to. I'm too fat.

I'll take them.

Didn't you hear me?

I'm not taking them.

Tomorrow then.

Time to sleep. Go to sleep.

One, two, three.

Lift your chin.

Go to your left a bit.

Wait, no. The other way.

Okay.

[Ho-Kuang Photo Studio]

Youyi.

- Yan Wei is here too? - Bureau Chief Wang.

Taking photos?

I have a big surprise for you.

What?

Look at this.

It got published so fast!

Mr. Oda helped a lot.

Bureau Chief Wang, can you do me a favor?

Sure.

- Come on. - What?

Let's take a photo.

- No! - Go on!

- Hurry. - Hurry up. Go.

Go!

Look at you, you're still a young lady,

but you dress like an old lady.

Is it this button?

I-It is. It is.

Hold this.

Okay.

Okay.

One, two, three!

Yan Wei.

Can you smile?

Smile.

Okay. Keep that smile! Just like that!

One, two, three!

[Hotel]

[Ho-Kuang Photo Studio]

[Tianhua Milk]

- Your milk. - Wait here.

- Here. - Thank you.

[One month later]

How is she suddenly in labor?

It's not the due date yet.

[Surgery in progress]

Okay, come on.

- Breathe. - Relax.

Push!

Push!

Doctor, is my family still not here?

Don't worry about that right now.

The baby is about to come out.

Hold on for a bit longer.

Don't be nervous.

Here, relax.

Relax. Relax.

I can see the baby.

- Breathe in! - You can do this.

Okay, push again.

- Push harder! - One more time.

Harder!

Okay, very good.

Push.

One more time.

Breathe in!

Okay.

Push again!

Harder!

Harder!

Okay.

Don't be nervous.

Here, one more time.

Okay!

Push harder!

The baby's out! It's out!

Relax.

Let me see the baby...

One moment, we need to do a checkup first.

Let me see the baby.

The baby still needs a checkup first.

You should rest first.

Doctor, is it a boy or girl?

Mr. Zhou, it's a boy.

What is this?

Shouldn't you add it after finishing this bottle?

Just lay down.

What is this?

- Do you want to die? - Don't get out!

Hold her down.

Don't move. Don't move.

What are you doing?

- Don't move. - What are you doing?

Don't move.

Whoever tries to come near me, I'll kill them!

Zhou Heng!

Stop!

Wei Wei, the baby is in the car.

After them!

Drive faster.

[Shanghai Station]

Kill them.

Yes, Young Master.

[Shanghai Station]

Zhou Heng!

Give me the baby. Give me the baby.

Give him to you?

This is our Zhou family's bloodline.

Give him to me.

For all those years we had feelings for each other.

Do we have any feelings left?

Zhou Heng.

Don't say my name!

I gave you a chance before.

Everything today

is your own fault.

- Don't move! - No!

Stop!

Xu Youyi.

See you in the next life.

Young Master!

Young Master!

[Shanghai Station]

Zhou Heng!

Kill them.

Give me the baby.

Wei Wei.

Everything's fine now.

Zhou Heng is dead.

The doctors and nurses who tried to kill you

have all been arrested too.

You're very safe now.

I'm here.

You don't need to be afraid of anything.

You're still here?

Aren't you here too?

Great, watch Xu Youyi for me.

Don't let anyone into this room.

Where are you going?

I have something to do.

Something to do?

Like taking someone's life?

Don't follow me.

Is the ship ready to leave?

It is. There won't be a problem, Master Jiu.

It's better to get away for a bit.

Master Jiu, you're right.

You two, go see what happened.

Yes, Sir.

Master Jiu, it might be the wiring.

I'll get someone to fix it.

Your marksmanship is good.

I wonder if you're faster, or if I am.

Not as good as yours.

Who are you?

Why are you targeting Xu Youyi?

Who are you?

She's my friend.

Friend?

Your turn to answer.

Chu Huizi was my woman.

Before, I suspected that Xu Youyi killed her,

so I tried to kill your friend.

It was a misunderstanding.

So Chen Shuangcheng was hiding from you.

So you don't have to worry.

I don't intend to harm her.

But the Zhou family might feel differently.

You're the one who killed Zhou Heng,

so the Zhou family should come after you for revenge.

They won't know who the killer is

unless... someone purposely leaks the news.

I hope you understand the situation.

What exactly do you want?

Nothing.

Young lady.

I have no intention of being your enemy.

I know who you are.

Your background is quite surprising.

So?

So...

As long as you don't mess with me,

we can probably become friends.

Kill those two women.

Right now. Immediately!

Minister, please calm down!

I was at the scene.

Someone else killed Young Master.

Shut up. Shut up!

Shut up!

Don't tell me that.

I just want the lives of those two women!

They have to die! They must die!

Connect me to your president.

Tell him I'm Mr. Zhou!

Yan Wei, what happened?

Did you break another bottle again?

No! Just a teacup broke!

I don't believe you.

Did you break another bottle just now?

No.

You definitely did.

It's right here, isn't it?

You bought ten new bottles two days ago

and hid them in the kitchen.

Don't think I don't know.

Also,

why do you make so much every time?

I feel like he's not drinking enough.

"You feel like?"

Do you think he's you?

We can't be so wasteful.

Do you know how expensive one box of imported formula is?

I have money.

You have money?

Where are you getting your money from?

From this photo studio that's closed half the month?

You might as well go get a gun license

and go collect protection fees in the street.

Either way I have money.

I don't need you to take care of me.

I make more than you do.

You're laughing at me?

You're laughing at me?

What are you doing?

How old are you? And laughing at others already?

Are you drinking without me?

Weren't you taking care of the baby?

The baby's asleep. He was really good today.

He slept after I only sang one song.

Amazing.

Zhou Heng's father left.

You didn't know?

How would I know?

I spend every day revolving around the baby and baby formula.

Where did he go?

He got promoted to a position in Beiping.

Mrs. Zhou left too.

That's good.

It's good that they left Shanghai.

Everything is over now.

Time really flies.

That's right.

How should we celebrate the baby's first birthday?

Time doesn't go by that fast.

We can think about it first.

When he turns one year old, you don't have to be at home with him every day.

Hire a nanny to come care for him instead.

You can keep writing and go socialize again.

What? Nagging me to earn money?

Money isn't important.

But you shouldn't be stuck in the nursery.

The vast world out there is your world.

You should go fall in love.

Sometimes I think... that I'm quite lucky.

Even though a lot of unfortunate things happened,

I also met you.

That doesn't sound... all that good.

Oh, right.

One of my friends wants to take photos.

She's a big celebrity. You have to shoot her photos well. Be nicer.

I don't like celebrities.

You run a business, how can it always be about what you want?

You have to smile more.

A good attitude brings better business.

Do you hear me?

I heard.

You're really...

Go play.

[Tianhua Milk]

Morning.

Where are the flowers from?

They're a gift.

From whom?

Someone who likes me.

Don't accept random gifts.

Here.

What are you doing later?

I don't know, cleaning maybe?

Let's go shopping.

Let's go buy that American typewriter. Don't you really like it?

It's too expensive. Forget it. Maybe later.

Buy it, I have money.

We haven't opened the studio for half a month. Where did you get the money?

The friend I recommended last time,

you shot for less than ten minutes and they got angry and left.

Either way, I have money.

I have work today, so I'll have money after that.

A big client? Who is it?

Do I know them?

If you offend someone again, I can help smooth things over.

No need, my photography skills are very good.

As long as they're serious about photos, they all like them.

There aren't a lot of serious people nowadays.

- Boss. Business doing well? - Brother Fa.

- Brother Fa. - It's time to pay protection fees.

Business was bad today, I haven't sold anything.

Bad business? Didn't sell anything?

No.

Look at this bread, it's so hard.

Who would buy them, right?

They don't smell good at all.

Brother Fa.

Let's talk about it. Talk about it.

- Talk about it? - Yes, yes,

I'm telling you, if you still don't pay, see if you can keep your business!

Brother Fa.

Got it?

Yes, yes. Got it.

That's right.

Good morning, Miss Yan.

Want something to eat?

This is my uncle, my real uncle!

Don't! Brother Fa.

- Take it. - It's okay.

- Uncle, use it to buy some food. - It's okay!

It's okay! Take it.

Brother Fa, it's all right.

Buy something good to eat.

Let me help you.

Brother Fa, let me. Let me.

Okay.

Brother Fa.

Like this, right?

It's all right, Brother Fa.

Like this?

Brother Fa.

Tastes really good.

Thank you, Brother Fa.

Let me. Let me.

A baby bottle nipple?

Don't hit me!

Don't move.

Come on.

[Pilot Cafe]

Hurry up!

Wait for me!

Thank you, Miss.

Thank you, Miss!

If a murderer is so soft-hearted, doesn't that affect your aim when shooting?

Miss Yan, I think we have a fate together.

We're always running into each other.

Why are you here today?

To look at the scenery?

I don't think you have that kind of hobby.

Did you get some new assignment?

I really want to know

if whether or not you do good or bad things

is based on your mood.

Or maybe... based on that day's horoscope?

My aim is still off.

Much worse than yours.

You caught the thief that day, right?

You were so agile.

He couldn't even tell if you were a man or woman before you knocked him down.

What do you want? Are all police officers this idle?

Nothing!

I just want to chat with you.

Chat about the weather, current affairs, and your current mood.

Or we can talk about my unsolved cases.

Your cases?

The killer who murdered Zhang Wan and Zhen Shan

still hasn't been caught yet.

Then go catch the killer.

I will.

Is that so? I'm looking forward to it.

Do you know that you're really annoying?

Is that so? No one's ever said that before.

I suggest you talk less. It'll be safer that way.

Talk less?

Talk less with whom?

You, Miss Yan?

But I don't believe that.

I think we get along really well.

Besides, I'm still very healthy.

Then you should be grateful for your face.

My face?

Are you calling me handsome?

No one has ever complimented me like that. I should thank you.

Miss Yan.

Yan...!

I will definitely find the evidence and bring you to justice!

Wei Wei is back?

Did you miss me today?

So much?

The client was happy, so I got a tip.

Let me hold him.

The tip was this much?

Did anyone come in today?

A girl came in asking for directions, but that was it.

Even a coffin shop is livelier than this.

It's all right, we can close tomorrow and go buy the typewriter.

You really know how to do business, spending money right after you get it!

When did she put flowers here?

Can we get more of a discount?

I'm sorry, Miss. This is our lowest price for this model.

Foreign goods are very expensive.

Why don't you look at the others?

I only want this one.

Then it's this one.

- Here. - Okay.

So expensive!

What are you looking at?

Nothing.

Ladies, the typewriter is quite heavy.

Why don't you write down the address and we'll deliver it to you?

Thank you.

Let's go.

Hey! Why are you eating your shoe?

Are you still mad?

Come on, baby.

Baby, happy birthday!

Happy birthday!

Your little hat is crooked.

Let me hold him. Help us take a photo.

- Okay. - Come on, come on.

Look, it's a rabbit.

Look, baby.

Look.

Look at the rabbit. Little rabbit.

Time for a photo.

Hold on.

Where did that come from?

Bureau Chief Wang brought a lot of things over a few days ago.

It was probably from him, for our baby.

Here, hold it for the photo.

What's wrong? Take the photo.

Okay.

One,

two,

three.

[The Commercial Press]

Miss Xu.

Do you need a ride?

Detective Jiang, you're so busy.

It must be trouble to give me a ride.

Not at all.

Giving you a ride might be part of my work too.

The girl that lives with you, Yan Wei,

what's she been up to lately?

You're quite straightforward.

Detective Jiang, I just don't understand.

How did Yan Wei upset you?

She didn't upset me.

Even if she did, I wouldn't need to be asking about her all the time.

But she's a dangerous person.

She often breaks things, but I don't think she's dangerous.

Miss Xu, don't be so sure.

Do you really know her?

What her real name is? Who she knows?

What she's experienced? Why she came to Shanghai?

Where did she live before and what her job was?

Do you know any of that?

You're a white piece of paper to her.

But she's experienced life you know and don't know.

But you?

With some people, it might seem like you know them,

but you really don't.

The little tiger brought the little duck back to the forest.

Mommy Duck was really happy.

You're happy too, right?

Look at this.

What dark story are you telling now?

I'm not. My story today was very normal.

Okay. Did work go well today?

Wasn't the customer I recommended very generous?

He gave me a tip.

Is that so? Let me see how much you made.

[18, Masi South Road - Chen Qingfeng - Ao Jingrong]

You cook tonight.

Okay.

What? Feeling lazy?

What do you want to eat?

I'm not eating at home. I need to go out.

At night?

For what?

A photo shoot.

Okay.

Wei Wei?

♫ But when the thoughts spread quickly, I can't help but rush towards you ♫

♫ Saying nothing ♫

[18, Masi South Road - Chen Qingfeng - Ao Jingrong]

♫ Burying my dreams in the twilight, praying ♫

You already said goodbye to your past.

I should go say goodbye to mine.

Weren't you always curious about my identity and where I came from?

When I come back...

I'll definitely tell you.

[Shanghai District Court]
