My sister Ahniya is more than 10 years older than me.

She was like my second mom.

She's been there for me and my brother.

My dad was my biggest encourager from day one.

He introduced me to Marvin Gaye.

And when I was seven years old,

he bought me my first guitar for Christmas.

It's very fortunate to grow up in a family

that encouraged not only music,

but encouraged my dreams.

I want to make the live shows really bad,

as a guy who's been pursuing this for 30 years

and overcome a lot of challenges.

I used to busk on the London Underground

and played hundreds of shows in Dallas.

And I've been grinding and grinding and grinding

and I really hope that can come through in my performance.

Also, I believe the competition needs a guy with a guitar.

It needs someone from the bars of Dallas.

Snoop Dogg brought in a mentor not to only help us

about singing, but like, to really teach us about life.

think about the moments you had with them while you're singing.
