ultranationalist group suspected of assassinating

Sikh separatist leaders on Indian and foreign soil.

Back in '85, when Shivan was a kid,

his mother's flight from Canada to India

exploded over the Atlantic Ocean.

And at the time, it was the deadliest act

of aviation terrorism in history.

Sikh separatist leaders were alleged

to have carried out the bombing.

So, are we thinking that this is the basis

- for his hatred of Sikhs? - Planted the seed maybe.

And it wasn't the only tragedy at the time.

There was more conflict.

TAN: Hundreds, if not thousands, of Sikh militants

and civilians were killed at their holiest temple.

Followed by the assassination of the prime minister

who ordered the raid,

at the hands of her Sikh bodyguards.

Okay, but this all happened in the '80s.

These guys are killing now.

Yeah, the Sikh separatist movement mostly went dormant,

but with the recent rise of nationalism in India,

there are fresh calls for a Sikh homeland.

No doubt reopening old wounds.

but I-I didn't get a good look.

Turns out they came into the U.S.
