=Episode 19= (Hedgehog, I Swear I Will Save You)

What...

Let go of me.

Let go of me.

Traitor Zhao Wumian!

You've always suspected

Commander Han of killing your entire family.

But I didn't expect

that you'd kill Commander Han without any evidence

to incriminate him.

Zhao Wumian.

Why did you do this?

Answer me.

Hedgehog.

Leave.

This is a trap.

It was like this when I arrived.

Let them take me

into custody and clear my name

after investigation.

Hedgehog.

Hurry up and tell them.

You didn't kill Commander Han.

It never happened in the comic.

Hurry up and tell them.

The new leader of the Daoming Court

must be an accomplice.

Take her into custody too.

Who dares to touch her?

She has nothing to do with it.

That's not up to you

to decide.

Fengyi.

Take Lusheng away.

Han Fengyi.

You guys, go after them.

Take him away.

Fengyi.

We will do your father justice.

We'll handle this.

Give me back my family's token.

You don't deserve it.

So

they used Zhao Wumian's grudge against Han Zhonggu

to get rid of Han Zhonggu

and frame Zhao Wumian.

That's right.

I bet the Big Dipper Sect did this.

So, what should we do now?

It's okay.

Miss Lin, don't worry.

The largest intelligence network

is already looking for Wumian.

Miss Lin.

This is my sister.

Your sister?

Then

are you Mo Shanghua or Qiu Shisanniang?

Both

and neither.

So you are siblings.

At the Zuisheng House, no wonder...

You are the only one my little brother cares about.

Shanghua.

Miss Lin is the head of the Daoming Court now.

Don't speak like that.

Thank you, Miss Lin,

for earning equality

and basic rights for women in Beichao.

This is what we've been doing

for so many years.

I should also thank you

for getting me gold and silver,

fine fabrics, and the retention of my position.

You should thank Zhishui

for retaining your position.

He was ready to

sacrifice himself

to protect you.

And I think he's been

striving hard to make sure

you live in peace.

That was a rare opportunity.

At that moment,

many possibilities came to my mind.

But our parents were beaten to death

on the street

when my brother

was merely seven years old.

We were sold

to the Zuisheng House to do odd jobs.

I've faced the darkest and filthiest side of the world

all by myself.

I hope Qijin

can preserve his innocence.

I fully understand your predicament.

But now you are both wanted criminals.

And Hedgehog is...

He's missing.

Miss Lin.

I have good news.

I know

where Zhao Wumian is locked up.

Really?

Leader?

Wumian.

Long time no see.

I'm sorry to have kept you in the dark.

You are the leader of the Big Dipper Sect

and the Daoming Court,

Shangguan Yunxiao?

I know

you might find it hard to accept for now.

Let me explain it to you.

Tingyu.

Fengyi.

What brings you here so late at night?

Wait.

I-I'm a bit confused.

But

isn't he Xu Zhenqing?

I was the top scorer of the imperial exam.

Unfortunately, I was born into a humble family

and couldn't get promoted.

His Majesty indulged

in debauchery and tyranny.

People with aspirations

had problems with him.

Under a twist of fate,

I established the Big Dipper Sect.

Therefore,

the court allocated funds to Shangguan Yunxiao

to establish the Daoming Court against the Big Dipper Sect.

Slowly, I convinced some court officials

to join the Big Dipper Sect,

including the twin brothers from Tianshan Academy,

Commander Han Zhonggu, and so on.

They all provided much financial support

and resources for the Big Dipper Sect.

Then why

did you kill Han Zhonggu?

Because

he wavered during

the Pinxiang Meeting.

If he hadn't wavered,

I would have

shown up

at the critical moment to save His Majesty.

Then I'd have control over the court.

After that, I could

overthrow the court.

Then why

did you adopt me?

Because

Zhao Wumian is

the only

surviving prince of the former reign.

What?

- Wumian is a prince? - Wumian is a prince?

This is the last card up Shangguan Yunxiao's sleeve.

In the end,

he will play this last card

to rightfully ascend the throne.

Wait, I'm even more confused now.

Many ministers from the former reign

have been eager to restore the reign.

Besides,

as everyone knows,

the Kingdom of Bili only recognizes our former reign.

In the end,

you will kill every member of the Big Dipper Sect

to vindicate yourself.

Of course.

Everyone in the Daoming Court

will rise to great heights.

So you killed

my whole family?

That's right.

Shangguan Yunxiao

killed Zhao Wumian's entire family.

What?

Actually,

His Majesty had no such intention.

He only wanted

your father to expel them from the kingdom.

However,

to damage His Majesty's image

and gain support

from the ministers of the former reign,

Shangguan Yunxiao

took a step ahead

to kill everyone

in the Zhao family

except for Zhao Wumian.

My father was a member

of the Big Dipper Sect?

Not really.

He just provided financial support.

And the Big Dipper Sect

helped him advance smoothly in the official ranks.

It was a win-win situation.

Why did you stage your disappearance?

Because His Majesty

almost found out

that Hong Qitian was me.

So I had to make my move

before he got to me.

We almost

got to Shangguan Yunxiao.

However,

he disappeared at the critical moment.

The Big Dipper Sect remains the biggest problem.

So what do you want me to do?

Father?

I want you to ascend the throne.
