join us for now we were discussing a

speech that I'm giving next week at the

Symposium on technology lately I've been

reading about some of our great

entrepreneurs Dupont Rockefeller Ford

there

ability to create great New Wealth

depended on the

fact that they worked out on the edge

the Leading Edge the frontier it can be

a scary

place but once you've stepped out onto

the edge it's impossible to come

back silicon Towers

Technologies welcomes the

challenges of the frontier institutions

never create anything individuals do we

are the thinkers the planners The

Visionaries that will shape the

future it is our destiny not only to

change the way people

communicate but to change the way people

think well of course there's a lot more

but that's what I'll open up with sounds

excellent well thank you for joining

thank you

sir it's right

kid Linda you on something what you on

you on something what do you onlie drive

me you know what you're an

[Music]

do as tests for reliability and

speed you have

mail you have

mail mail is

encoded running Dakota

1 decoding failed failed what the hell's

that all

about decoding failed invalid decoder

type strange printing encrypted

material really

[Music]

strange m

mhm don't worry sir it's not even an

issue anymore I have it

[Music]

handled so you knew in level two yeah I

guess new new new in level

two you've been here long since the

beginning all my life all my

life I taught Warner everything he knows

about CPU design from day one I come

from Corell Labs way back Mr Warner had

nothing to do with owning half the world

well not half not

yet do you want to know what the that

means

sure that's encrypted material obviously

try encryption 4 I think it's in Pros

you wrote it no no I can just read some

of the words in the pattern no one can

read through even the first tier of a

cryption never mind four do you want to

test me it's

impossible did you send this to me I got

better things to do than send you

anything

oh running

[Music]

Dakota a crack in the dke of time is

[Music]

project all

right great keep up the good

work

[Music]

hey Bradley how you doing man what's up

got a message the detective wants to

talk to yeah yeah yeah he was ask me

questions about you and what should I

say to him I don't

know you only found your ID yeah no I

just say I dropped it it's no big deal

no it's not a big deal

sloppy

[Music]

idiot I decide to cohabitate with the

third class

passengers no they're all in

braak um you got to be completely secret

about this sure you promis to be

cool no I think I've found something put

it under the scope over to the right

bottom very I scratched mhm looks like

you scratched it under the scratches

embedded in the silicone God I'd never

think to look there in a million years

exactly I've never seen anything like

that what do you think it's for maybe

it's additional testing specs they're

built in standard they're already specs

in the third second and 15th quadrant

don't tell anyone about this okay all

right I've got to get

[Music]

back if I access pin 7 through 12 I get

back access

right this is

software back access it's insane who's

got this Chi setting their

systems how about every Bank in the

US hope this

works hello golden chest Bank home with

you sol your

puzzle what was that puzzle you had a

puzzle hello

gentlemen

hey it's all right alt I'm

harmless I know

that we'll be doing an

evaluation not not today I mean I know

you're still uh getting situated but

probably by the end of next week all

right you're

right see you later you stay out of

trouble stay away from him why because

his friends have a way of Disappearing

and do what you want did you send me

that

email I did not send you any email tell

me the

truth I exist in a tenuous State between

this reality and the fantasy in my mind

and I rarely understand the connections

or the who what where why things going

on

okay how the hell did you know about

it is everything

okay I bu my ride

sure um you got to get in on this side

it's bro

BR um I'm

sorry it was very unusual what you found

forget about it what you said is uh just

for testing and stuff I looked at it

more closely it didn't seem that way

well trust me don't waste any time on it

it's just some Service Hardware for

testing oh right here now you seem

really

[Music]

troubled are you okay yeah

I'm sorry I'm just a little out of it

right now I care about

you

okay

[Music]

okay

Charlie

uh-huh my God you're here

H something crazy

happened it's really

crazy what are you saying okay come here

come here come here close your

eyes come on do it keep them closed

keep them

closed

okay have you ever seen so much

money I mean it's crazy

Charlie isn't it wonderful Charlie where

it

come you don't understand oh no Charlie

Linda Charlie do something stupid

Charlie I went to the bank

today and there was a mistake there was

a million dollars in the account what

can I do

Charlie we've got to get it back no we

don't hell no we don't Charlie listen

it's okay then you don't understand no

it's okay they can track this they can

how they'll see it as an error in their

books and then it'll be embezzlement

okay listen we take it one day at a time

Charlie it's okay I wired the rest of it

this is only

$100,000 there's a lot more it was just

a scientific

test you did this how I don't

know what

I I'm not giving a pend back we're we're

too deep already I can go in tomorrow

and get it back in electronically but we

have to put it back no no look Charlie

stop we may never see this much money

again for the rest of our lives why

would you even think about giving it

back we need this money it's not ours we

have to take it back I can't give this

money back there's a right and wrong and

this is really

wrong it's okay it's okay what

difference does it make Charlie come on

you got these big bangs do they feed the

Homeless what what do they do let's do

something for somebody let's do it for

us okay come on we need this Charlie we

need this go to jail no you won't go to

jail

hey Frankie how you doing what's up sir

I believe we have a problem

really good ey friend

sure Tom it's DK he got in and made a

[Music]

transfer what does he

know we have a

problem has to

be War wants to see

him

the concept is that we use your Delta

cards in series to recompress digital

Transmissions across similar links it

doubles transmission rates in regular

lines and can four-fold increase them in

enhance lines now we began work on this

in early '92 when we found that there

was a lot of interference across

telephone lines we recognized the value

of your Delta cards we found that in

conjunction with what we were working on

that together we could really come up

with a terrific product uh as you can

see we've done that here we hope that

his software there was digital

propretary CR that we were noticing we

found a way to over he's looking for

capitalization to increase over our

whole network you mean he wants to be my

partner it looks like it how many

employees does he have they're small 40

50 minut my close of business tomorrow I

want no less than 7 different lawsuits

claiming copyright infringement but

there's no grounds after they've been

filed you call him you tell him we'll

back off if he sells out to us but if he

says

no you know the routine you file more

lawsuits you bury them in paperwork and

legal fees if there's a problem after

that find out who his suppliers are tell

them to stop their deliveries at once

after Extreme

R&D we came up with the concepts that

we're showing you here today after he's

accepted the

buyout we fire everyone except the two

top

developers and then bury the

concept I want everyone to believe that

this was a failed experiment do you

understand but it

works open this up you're starting to

get on my nerves thank for

your thank you so much for your time Mr

warnery

[Music]

that was excellent excellent I hope he

liked that presentation yeah he liked it

he liked it a

lot we think it's Al I don't think so

why not

C because I don't think so because Alton

wouldn't do it that's why not still I

think we should what the hell is going

on here we haven't had a problem in 15

years now all of a sudden twice in the

last month someone's in the know this is

not good I don't have time for this I've

got things to do I've got so much on my

plate I've got a satellite system to

build I've got the whole cable world

just laying at my feet right for the

picking I need to be able to concentrate

on what I do best that means that you

should be doing what you do best you're

getting very well paid for this find out

what's going on and make it go away yes

[Music]

sir

[Music]

hello

[Music]

hello

hello

Alton

hello oh how you doing okay um the door

was open so I just walked in sorry

actually there's no door now I'll get to

it so I figured you'd come eventually

you

did are you paranoid why you look

paranoid I think they might be after me

and they are who exactly

Warner it really is too bad that you

came here especially for me why why

because now they're going to think that

we're in complicity now they're going to

kill both of

us kill

us you found the added stuff didn't

you I guess come I knew it I knew

it such a simple pattern was amazed it

wasn't picked out immediately by

everyone people are asleep it was never

obvious to

me I did not send you the

email then who

did I designed the back access bizarre

unique combination but it worked I knew

it would it's an every chip not the

consumer models but the main frames all

the main

frames can you get access from any other

main frame only from silicone Towers it

has the counterphase it but you can mock

the phase from any

computer not possible

you have to have the decoder Hardware

not software that's why it was so easy

for you to do can you go public with it

no they deny it as a design flaw then

they'd destroy the decoder before anyone

could catch them do they use

it Warner has embezzled millions

billions Pennies on every transaction in

the world 95% of all computers have our

chip sets they'll be here

son oh

God oh God you got a back door this

way it's kind of really blocked

[Music]

up

[Music]

there I saw the kids car watch you

move

Al

[Music]

Al

[Music]

[Music]

move it come

[Music]

on come on push him come

boy we could really use a ride man here

I got it take it take it

all come on let's go you're going to

follow us let's

go this is your lucky day then ain't

[Music]

it don't lose

them

[Music]

[Music]

oh now you're pissing me

off watch it watch him back

[Applause]

[Music]

[Music]

end of the line I never saw you you

never saw me all

[Music]

regarding silicon towers and attempted

murder uh let me put you on with

Detective green who's calling that's

let's

[Music]

H there's really nothing going on here

sir we kept it active for you but if you

hadn't called we would have left an hour

ago no sign of the girlfriend not since

we've been here and nothing's

changed okay thanks ma'am so you're the

landlord you know the couple well I

should say so obnoxious what do you mean

they fight like cats and dogs l

all the time I'm not a Troublesome

landlord so I don't call the cops but I

should you know thank you

[Music]

man' we've been there there's no sign of

struggle what's your

story with him the chips from Silicon

towers are

corrupted St can back access any

Mainframe they've sold in the whole

world and how do they do this it's a

complex scheme between hardware and

software st's chips have a design flaw

that allows them to be accessed it's a

huge industrial

scam well it appears they've found Linda

apparently she's desperately trying to

find

you

really

oh my God

Charlie are you all right where have you

been of course I'm fine you like

something to

drink please come in come Charlie he and

Alon get incredible states of fantasies

everything becomes a conspiracy what are

you saying she's lying to I have a lot

of follow up on other cases there were

men with guns chasing me and Alton they

work for St and Derek Stark they want to

keep us quiet they have to keep us

quiet Alton say

[Music]

something I understand detective I

transferred a million dollar yesterday

look I think this is worse than they

thought did he transfer that amount that

would be something wouldn't it wait I

have it I can I have a statement it's

here just wait one second I have a

statement it was a wire transfer I can

get a statement read I believe you

believe what you're saying but you've

been up all night detective there's cash

in the bedroom Charlie come on don't be

like that Linda shut up I'm sorry I have

to deal with real crimes not imaginary

ones I think I got to be going

too

wait I can't go I can't

yeah

bye what are you doing what are you

talking

about I thought you cared about me I do

you have the money what money

Charlie it's all for you isn't it I

haven't done anything wrong was Derek

here never

mind I can't be with with you

anymore

well move out

then you're really amazing you out of

here or what yeah I'm out of

here but you have no idea of who or what

you're dealing with

none

[Music]

bye

Beth I knew you try to do this I can't

talk to you why why I could lose my job

what are they say they're saying you

tried to steal confidential company

documents can we go somewhere and talk

please meet me at X Second Street an

hour

okay thanks see you

now should we get him while he's on the

complex no absolutely not we'll deal

with them off site don't worry about

it War once it's

finished I could do that but I think we

should um see if he can lead us to the

leak just pick him up we'll worry about

that

later Tom I'm worried about that with

this detective skullking around war is

not not worried about the detective on a

barel Warner's not worried about the

detective okay it's

done

hi this is all so crazy tell me about it

what are they saying about me they're

saying well I think they're going to

have you arrested arrested for what I

told you corporate Espionage come on

serious they're saying you took papers

and did information transfers to amsa

they're trying to frame me did you see

that Beth how long have we worked

together 18 months you know me I work

with you I see you half an hour a day

tops I'm sorry but I don't know you you

don't know

me this is

unbelievable I didn't do anything here I

need your

help please I think you should find

something to disprove their accusations

there's no way they can do anything they

want I have to take things as they come

I should

[Music]

go it's

them what you set this up didn't you

what are you talking

about you set this

up wait Charlie I didn't do anything set

this

up

[Music]

I

[Music]

uh

[Music]

[Music]

[Applause]

back let's

go I'm telling you they got to come out

on

first they don't first goes through come

on the detectives got to help

me I'll let myself out

here you're not involved

okay they filed charges against me

that's right apparently you assaulted a

Security employee of the company at a

restaurant and then tried to run them

off the road with your car I don't

understand you son you couldn't leave

well enough alone I thought we resolved

the situation but now you've gone and

racked up bunch of hell for yourself

that could put you away for 10 years

they were chasing me they Twisted this

all around really interesting are you

going to start a whole long diet tribe

about some conspiracy what do you want

from me actually it's your company they

want to clear up this entire

situation they've dropped the charges

apparently somebody over there still

likes

you okay Charlie come clean I have

nothing to come clean about wish that

were true so if I were to disappear now

wouldn't that get back to the police and

doesn't it look extremely obvious that

silicon Towers post a bail and have

disappeared well maybe the whole matter

will be forgotten or accidentally erased

there's quite a few Witnesses like

detective green detective green every

woman has her price let's go

[Music]

please

[Music]

here we go

Charlie

okay

okay Charlie it's nice to see you again

what do you want from

me

truth I told the truth to the

police I to tell you I was amazed how

quickly he were able to decipher the

algorithm G me considerable pause of

course he had some

help I mean let's face it

you probably would have continued to

overlook it if you hadn't gotten that

email right you maybe Alton first

developed it didn't

you yes

sir all right who sent you the

email

who sent you the email I don't

know has anyone tried to contact you

about it since then no are you lying now

no see Charlie it's

impenetrable completely untraceable in

the

system well there's got to be a way of

tracing in this business

growth presents an interesting dilemma

if you don't grow you die the industry

just goes on without you early on we

realized that without subsidy subsid you

mean

embezzlement without

subsidy we couldn't survive we couldn't

retool fast enough we couldn't continue

to develop to grow we're selling our

products every 6 months or half the

price that they were intended to be we

needed subsidy I'm sure it's gone past

that oh we're comfortable now it's all

great a good

job technology has improved people are

happier the most advanced Nation

subsidizing technology industri is Char

they use tax revenues well we've

developed a system that's simpler more

direct to call it a a debit

tax revolutionary I think it's rather

ingenious did you bring me here to

lecture me I brought you here because I

need to know who leaked that information

to you do you understand this is your

last chance

Charlie it was Anonymous I couldn't tell

you there was no header on it as I'm

sure you know it was gone before we

got oh

[Music]

no are you listening

Charlie I can see the future looks there

it's like a vision right there in front

of me I know how to get there

but there are obstacles formidable

obstacles established Technologies

established Financial interests that

will do everything in their power to

prevent change like the automobile

industry and mass transit understand I I

need capital I need enormous amounts of

capital to overcome these obstacles and

obviously I can't have someone like

you someone like you trying to destroy

my

vision

trying to undermine me trying to

undermine the

future kill

him come on Jo come

[Music]

[Music]

on what are you looking at him

[Music]

leave this

place

get

[Music]

up Charlie Charlie

Charlie you really screwed

up that's

it just like

that just like that it's quite difficult

to keep things status quo every every

year we have to do a lot of cleaning

cleaning

mhm

cleaning say good night

[Music]

Charlie don't say a word don't say a

word I will kill you you understand you

sent an Emil shut up or I will kill you

talent why did you send me the email it

turn my life life into a nightmare I'm

sorry about that I really am der's got

it all figured out oh he does listen you

stupid

hey hey come on come on come on

let's be

civil now listen I I am sorry I didn't

mean for them to catch on to you so

quickly I I didn't expect you to solve

that equation so quickly fact that you

did was

incredible for years I tried to find

somebody to get me into the syst and you

come and solve that algorithm got this

lucky I

guess

I need you to help me transfer a small

amount of money into some accounts which

I already set up a small amount 25

million why should I Charlie come on

you're dispensable oh really I thought I

was the only one who solved the

algorithms

Charlie I'm a reasonable man you got to

help us

us you two we weren't working Charlie

you know

that you're as stupid as they come okay

okay come on come on kids this is in the

people's Divorce Court we knock it off

now Charlie Charlie look at

me you have something I need

something you could not do this and be

fish food now I have your notes I'm sure

I could find a reasonably intelligent

person like your friend Beth

to help me with

this now do you want me to include your

friend

Beth come on shut up shut

up what do you want from me the whole

thing will be very simple we'll be in

and out in 7 minutes 7 minutes now

Charlie don't mess with

me because I will take you

out

[Music]

[Music]

here we are this should all run very

smoothly we should be in and out in 7

minutes

not Charlie don't mess with me when I

say jump you jump okay nobody goes

[Music]

anywhere

Linda

what don't believe this guy is ruthless

he's doing what he has to

do have you lost all common sense

[Music]

he let me keep the money where is it in

my account right now the gu's killed God

knows how many people he'll kill both of

us when this is done no he won't I know

him then come on look I don't want to

talk to you

[Music]

anymore

[Music]

[Music]

okay we have to do this quickly before

people get to work at 8:00 anything you

do can be undone right right that's if

one they see it and two they have access

to the bank where the funds are kept

because amazingly enough there are

financial institutions that even St

can't

[Music]

reach

[Music]

they'll know I loged down hey everyone

thinks you're dead by the time they

figure it out we'll be long

gone and if I don't help you if you

don't help me I will kill you like I was

supposed

to let's

go okay okay let's do it okay this the

counts I want for you

okay this the account I want the money

to go into you understand Linda watch

the door Linda guard the door all right

take it easy don't tell me to take it

easy just watch the

door

what do you mean you can't find your

program it's gone well rewrite it now

it's going to take a few seconds you've

got exactly half a second now rewrite

[Music]

[Music]

it what's taking so long I'm getting

spooked

here I think I got

it where am I taking the 25 million

assets from 10 million from this account

and 5 million from these three what are

these accounts don't ask any questions

just do it still the kind of towers by

chance hey do

[Music]

for helping us to find our loose

of the chaos and confusion that is the

cosmos but there's always an equal and

opposite effort to screw things up we'll

give the money

back well that's very generous it's too
