an age-old mountain landscape

a country divided by conflicts

but in the world of nature

is there another side of Korea

in the south

there are places with untouched nature

rich habitats

with extraordinary animals

and spectacular natural phenomena

a place where people and nature have been living together harmoniously for centuries

This is Korea

Korea is located on the Eastern border of Asia

The peninsula is 700 miles long (about 1127km)

and 150 miles wide (about 241km)

and is divided into two countries

but long before modern conflicts divided the country

two tectonic plates collide

and thus created a dramatic landscape

60 million years ago

indescribable forces penalized the steep tops

that dominate the east of Korea

mating will be done underground

safe in a mud pit

in the north

is a very different one

but equally rich environment

60 percent of South Korea

is wooded

and much of its biodiversity

can be found in these ecosystems
