living at home.

And at night, I'd sit in my room
and I'd hear my mother

either labor for breath

or moan in pain.

I mentioned this to a friend
of mine at school

and as it turned out,
her dad was a doctor.

spent some time with her

and he told me he was gonna
give her something for the pain.

That something turned out to be morphine.

It's a tricky drug.
