you see, them trail-herds

hire Lucretia to take
them across the river, Doc.

and a fine swimmer, because
all the cattle follow her.

Now if you tried to
drive a herd into the river,

well, they're just as liable to panic
and half of them get drownded.

You'd think they'd have their
own river swimmers with them.

Well, some of them do

they take Lucretia and me.

I tell you, Onie, she just may
not be getting enough to eat.
