Can you give us a description of the man

who shot your husband?

- Misses Holt is blind.

- I'm sorry, still, if you
can give us anything to go on.

He was a tall man, he
smokes, he was a Londoner,

an Air Force type, I'd say, by his accent.

He had a soft hand, too soft for anyone

who did any kind of physical work.

- Yes, he was wearing a rain coat.

- Simmons speaking.

- [Heath] Inspector Heath, Scotland Yard.

inspected Aircraft BXY540

when she came in from Cairo this morning.

- That's right.

- [Heath] I understand you
confiscated some powder.

- Yes, so we've had an analysis made.

I've got the report here, 64% heroin.

We're applying for a
warrant for Holt's arrest.

- There's no hurry Mister Simmons.

He's in hospital and not expected to live.

- Framed? Did he say who by?

his Co-Pilot, Sandy Mason.

- [Peter] No.

- Pick up Mason, bring him to the Yard.

Perhaps you'll come with me, Mister Brady.

I have an idea you could help us, a lot.

- [Peter] Certainly, Inspector.

- [Peter] Okay, Inspector.

There are one or two

- Well, I've been flying
with him for six months, now.

- Did you ever suspect
that he was involved

in anything like this?

- No, no, well, not until just
before our last flight home.

that an attempt was made

Did you see where the shooting came from?

- No, I was in a shop at the time

and I heard the firing outside.

morning at 11 o'clock?

- Um, I was in bed.

- Well, I was flying all night, Inspector.

(taxi bell ringing)

- Inspector Heath.
- [Peter] This is Brady, here.

He went straight to his
flat, I followed him in.

He took a wad of money from a hiding place

and put in in an envelope.

- Where is he now?

- [Peter] I followed him to a news agency.

He left the envelope with the money

with the man behind the counter.

- Huh, accommodation address, eh?

- [Peter] Yes, that's that I thought.

Someone will be calling for it.

My guess is, it's the pay envelope.

The man that collects
it will be the gunman.

- You better get back to the shop.

- [Peter] I'm watching it

through the window of this phone box.

I must go now, I think someone
wants to use the phone.

(receiver dropping)
(eerie music)

- [Clerk] Thank you.
- Thank you.

- [Clerk] Next up.

- Anything for me?

- Inspector Heath.

- [Peter] This is Brady, the
envelope has been collected.

I followed the man.

He's just gone into a restaurant

at the corner of Baker Street.

How about Misses Holt?

- She's on her way here
now, in a squad car.

- [Peter] Call the car and tell them

to bring her straight to me.

- What's the idea?

- [Peter] Come right
over, and I'll tell you.

Wait just around the far
corner of the square.

- I'll be there in five minutes.

- [Peter] Here she comes.

(tires screeching)
(doors slamming)

It's me, Katherine.

- Hello, Peter, they said you needed me.

- [Peter] There's a chance

that we've found the man that shot Arthur.

He's in the restaurant around the corner.

If the police arrested him,
there'd be no way of proving it.

You are the only witness,
but you didn't see him.

- I remember his voice.

I shall never forget it.

- That wouldn't convict
him in a court of law.

- [Peter] The gunman himself
is the only other person

who was there.

We must make him give himself away.

Did he know you were blind?

- He must have done.

- [Peter] Supposing we
were able to convince him

that you could see all the time.

- Well, how on earth can we do that?

- [Peter] You're going to walk

straight into that restaurant,
just as if you could see.

Walk straight up to him and accuse him.

- Why, I can get around
my own home all right,

but outside I'm lost.

- [Peter] I'll be your eyes.

We're going to drive
round to the restaurant.

the wheel, that's right.

(engines groaning)

I'll guide you all the
way into the restaurant

and straight up to his table.

Here's the door, had
waist high, that's it.

(menacing orchestral music)

- [Katherine] It's you, you're the man!

- I don't know what you're talking about.

- You're the man who shot my husband.

- You must be mad!

(dramatic orchestral music)

- [Peter] Now, look as if you're driving.

Make it convincing.

He'll be watching you in the mirror.

(engines rumbling)

- After him, don't let him
see we're following him.

(dramatic orchestral music)

- They told me you were blind.

It's a pity for you, you're not.

(startling discordant music)

Sparrow has been talking.

- [Alec] Sparrow?
- Alias, Andrew Walter.

- Oh, that cheap crook.
