EPISODE 24

Rui Fan,

listen to a word of advice.

The enemy might be closer than you think.

Are you kidding?

Qi Qi and Ah Tang have been with me for many years.

And yet Ah Tang is quitting.

Qi Qi is not like Ah Tang. She and I are good friends.

Rui Fan.

Did you perhaps put a charm on your office for more attention?

Why do I hear so much noise?

Why is a petty assistant giving me an earful?

You should train your subordinates better.

Kang De.

What's your business with me?

Well, Mr. Wen.

My wife ordered me to inform you

that your mother will be eating at your place tonight.

Please be home early.

But we've already agreed to go to a movie.

You should've told us earlier.

I wasn't talking to you.

Okay then,

Mr. Wen.

Why don't I tell your parents that you have a date with your mistress today,

so they should cancel

and make sure to inform you earlier next time.

Hey, I'm not a mistress, okay?

Kang De, will you stop it?

Sure.

Okay, I'll keep my mouth shut.

Then,

enjoy your movies.

-Let's watch a movie tomorrow, okay? -Not okay!

An Zhen, get Yu Meng and Zhuang Zhuang to come and eat.

It's okay, Mom. They had a late snack.

-I'll feed them later. -I see.

You guys have no idea how great An Zhen is doing these days.

Since she sold her first car to that Mrs. Jiang,

her husband gave up on his mistress

and went home to her for no apparent reason.

Mrs. Jiang is over the moon!

She brought all her friends to our shop to look at cars.

Even I got some of the spotlight.

Now I don't have to worry about being fired.

That's right, An Zhen. You're improving. I'm happy for you!

WEI EN

Not at all.

I couldn't have done it without Rui Xuan's help.

I won't deny it. I'm happy to help.

Rui Fan, you should eat more. You've been busy lately.

This is nutritious. You need the energy.

Let me get it.

Hello?

Hello? Who's on the line?

I'm looking for Wen Rui Fan.

Hello? I'm looking for Wen Rui Fan.

-He's eating. -Tell him to answer the phone.

Who is it?

Hello?

I heard you guys laughing.

Are you having a good time?

Where are you?

Take a guess.

Can you go back to the dining table?

Dear.

This is my house.

I can be wherever I want to be.

What do you want?

If you don't come out in one minute, I'll ring the door bell.

Stop fooling around.

I want to watch the movie, right now!

Please tell Mom and Dad

that I'm leaving.

Why didn't you answer my call?

I wouldn't be angry if you'd answered it.

You forced me to do this!

Wei En.

An Zhen.

Is Rui Fan fooling around with someone?

Don't be afraid to tell me.

I'll stand up for you!

If he has wronged you in any way,

I'd rather have my daughter-in-law

than my own son!

What's wrong? Spit it out.

Have you all become mute?

Okay, all right.

Don't get mad.

I'll explain.

-Rui Fan-- -Rui Xuan, let me tell them.

Dad, Mom.

There are some problems between Rui Fan and I.

Why is that?

It's my fault.

I...

I misunderstood Rui Fan

and caused some rifts between him and his colleagues.

So he's a little angry with me

and prefers to stay at the office all the time.

Oh, my.

You are clueless,

yet you love to mind other people's business.

I wouldn't criticize you if you couldn't help it.

But look! Now you've caused trouble for my son.

How are you going to fix things?

Rui Fan is in the wrong, too!

He's a man. He shouldn't be so narrow-minded.

An Zhen, call him back.

I'm going to teach him a lesson!

Dad, this is all my fault.

If you scolded him, he'd blame me for telling you.

It's okay. This isn't anything serious. Don't worry about it.

I'll improve and fix things.

I'm sure Rui Fan will come around.

This one.

Here.

QI QI CALLING

Hello?

Hello, Ai Lin.

I've taken quite a few of shots.

-Are they scandalous? -Very!

Once they leave the office, they are in their own little world.

This must be my lucky day.

What?

-Wei En. -Yes?

I wanted to ask you something.

What is it?

Is it real between you and Mr. Wen?

What do you mean?

Is what real or not?

There is a rumor going around

that Mr. Wen is having an affair and you're the mistress.

That's bullshit.

Who's spreading the rumor?

I don't know.

But it's a hot issue in the company.

That is utter bullshit. Don't believe any of it!

Whether or not I believe it,

I'm just trying to remind you

to be careful.

Hello, Mr. Zhuang?

Ai Lin here.

How are you lately?

Definitely not as good as you.

You've been on holiday for a while.

You must be all re-energized.

Let me remind you,

your holiday is almost up.

You're spoiling the mood.

I'm trying to enjoy my massage right now.

I wanted to ask you

whether you've heard anything about Mr. Wen lately.

Not really.

You're missing out.

Even I've heard about it, and I'm miles away.

Well,

just tell me what it is.

I won't spoil the fun.

You can find out on your own.

Tina, I need you to check on something.

Qi Qi,

have you heard anything about me

circulating through the company lately?

Of course!

It's about you and Rui Fan.

It's preposterous!

They're being silly by even thinking that it's possible.

What if...

What if it's real?

Would you support me?

Of course. We live in modern times. You have to fight for your love.

Who was it? Why didn't you answer it?

It was an unknown number.

I see.

I'm going to the bathroom.

Okay.

CHINA TELECOME

CALLING AI LIN

Hello?

Yes, sure. Don't worry.

I'll spread it right away.

I'll go to a cyber cafe later.

Okay, bye-bye.

Wei En.

Why did you ask me here?

Qi Qi, my good friend.

What's up?

Tell me! How long have you been scheming with Ai Lin? Tell me!

Let go of me!

I don't have to explain to you!

You don't have to explain to me?

You betrayed Rui Fan

and pretended to be my friend!

-You have no shame, you bitch! -Look who's talking?

You seduced Rui Fan.

He was such a good man.

-Now he's deserted by everyone! -Deserted by everyone?

Who else deserted him but you? Tell me who else?

Why do you think Ah Tang left?

Because Rui Fan no longer deserves our respect.

We despise Rui Fan, and we despise you, too!

You both deserve to be punished!

What does it have to do with you?

Who do you think you are?

A saint?

Thank goodness I no longer have to look at you.

You know what?

You're the most despicable, shameless bitch I've ever known!

He Ai Lin must have ordered Qi Qi to spread those rumors

to ruin Rui Fan's reputation.

No way am I letting her get away with it.

I must think of something. I must!

You mean to say that He Ai Lin abused her authority

and used company funds for cosmetic surgery?

Cosmetic surgery is a personal matter.

We should keep it private.

I am willing to do anything for Rui Fan.

I need to see the president.

You don't have an appointment.

I have something important to tell him. Let me see him!

But you can't just barge in like this.

Hey, miss!

-Sir, this lady here-- -It's fine.

Sir, I have something really important to report to you.

I just need five minutes.

Every minute is precious in a person's life.

I swear that it will be worth your time.

Okay, five minutes it is.

You haven't changed one bit.

Still as bold as ever.

I later found out that you asked Ai Lin to hire me.

I never got the chance to thank you.

Just get to the point.

Five minutes is not a very long time.

Well,

I found some oddities in the company accounts.

I know I shouldn't be such a busybody,

but since you have been so good to me,

I felt like I should protect the company's interests.

Your opening statement was pretty good.

I get it.

Continue.

I found...

I found that during the Korean Promotional Event last year,

Ai Lin...

she abused her authority and misused company funds for her personal gain.

I only found this one case so far,

but I'm sure there are more.

Sir,

what's wrong?

I'm just feeling

a little bewildered.

Sir, this is indeed what happened.

The problematic accounts

and the report of my investigation are all here.

You will see once you read them.

Okay, I will.

I will take care of it

if it's really true.

Thank you, sir.

Hello?

Ai Lin,

come back today.

Why?

Because,

the war has begun.

P&J KOREAN PROMOTIONAL EVENT EXPENDITURES AND WRITE-OFFS

-Mr. Zhuang, I-- -You don't have to explain, Ai Lin.

You used to be my subordinate,

but I never went out of my way to lead you.

Everything you've achieved,

you've done on your own.

Today, I am finally able to help you.

I'm glad.

Destroy all the evidence.

Wei En.

-Come with me. -What are you doing?

What's up?

Wei En, I need to ask you something.

What is it?

Korean Promotional Event, Mr. Zhuang, Ai Lin, and Li Wei En.

What is the connection between these four terms?

Can you explain it to me?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Wei En.

I admire girls like you.

I'm here to help you. I don't wish to see you doing foolish things.

I know that.

But I'm not doing anything foolish.

Let me tell you something.

I have no idea why, but Ai Lin used the paper shredder yesterday.

She seems to really hate you.

Is that true?

Don't even think about challenging her. You have no idea what she's capable of.

Even Mr. Zhuang is on her side. Can't you tell?

Why?

Are you stupid?

Think about it.

Why is Wen Rui Fan on your side?

It's the same reason why Mr. Zhuang is on her side.

You get it now?

Hello, who's this?

Wei En, this is Mr. Zhuang's assistant, Tina. Mr. Zhuang would like to see you.

Come in.

Take a seat.

Regarding what you told me yesterday,

I had someone look into it earlier today.

However,

all the paper work related to the Korean Promotional Event

has disappeared.

Do you know what happened?

Even if all the documents are gone,

what I passed to you yesterday

should be sufficient to prove my point.

But you only reported it to me.

It's too bad, but I couldn't find any evidence.

Wei En.

You're not being smart about this.

You'll have difficulty

getting along with Ms. He in the future.

Why don't you

resign?

I will keep this between us.

Come in.

-Mr. Zhuang, did you want to see me? -Yes.

The thing is,

Wei En came to me

and told me about her dissatisfaction with working here.

She wishes to resign.

Yes, I'm resigning.

Actually,

it's better for you that she resigns.

Isn't that right?

HE AI LIN USED COMPANY FUNDS THE KOREAN PROMO EVENT EXPOSED

-How could it be her? -I thought she was pretty.

-She sure is gutsy. -She went under the knife?

-My dream is dashed. -Did she really use company funds?

-Holy cow! -I don't know.

-She abused her authority. -I can't believe this.

-It must be real, look. -I think it is.

-Look at this. -Can you believe this?

Yeah, I used to like her.

Are you blind? She looks totally fake.

There's nothing to see! Don't read that!

Li Wei En, do you wish to die?

You want to crush me? I'll do the same to you!

Are you serious?

-You picked on me first. -Did I really?

Don't forget.

You bribed Qi Qi, not me!

Qi Qi came to me because she didn't like what you two were doing.

Do you think anyone would believe what you're saying right now?

I don't get it at all.

Didn't you love Wen Rui Fan before?

How could you be so cruel?

Me, cruel?

You live and eat off your cousin.

You even stole her husband.

You're the cruel one!

Rui Fan's taste has become so odd.

What do you know?

You have no idea what Rui Fan and I have.

You think your love is precious?

The fact is,

you're just a dumb and heartless mistress.

Do you think he really loves you?

I hope you're not thinking he'd leave everything for you.

Li Wei En.

Your stupidity is beyond comprehension.

You, you're nothing but his new toy.

He'll throw you away the moment he's fed up with you.

I'll chop off my head if he gets a divorce because of you!

It doesn't matter what you say.

Soon enough, Rui Fan and I

will be officially together in public.

-What a joke! Maybe in your dreams. -The joke's on you!

Things have already gotten to this point.

You can forget about becoming Vice President.

Just wait and see.

I promise that everyone in the office

will look at you differently tomorrow.

Enjoy the attention.

I hope you're not thinking he'd leave everything for you.

You, you're nothing but his new toy.

Why are you sitting there alone?

Rui Fan.

Please don't get mad at me.

I'm not blaming you.

I still believe that

you'll become Vice President in the end.

I'll show He Ai Lin

if she dares to do anything to you!

As long as it's for you,

I'm willing to do anything.

Okay, don't get worked up over it.

What is it I'm living for?

I'd break into pieces

if I fell from here, right?

Everything splattered.

It'd be a mess.

I won't die looking pretty.

That's not what I want.

You bunch of assholes!

I, He Ai Lin, will not back down so easily!

I will not lose without a fight!

HE AI LIN USED COMPANY FUNDS THE KOREAN PROMO EVENT EXPOSED

Wow, this is too much!

Who did this?

Using logical deduction,

the culprit is someone who would benefit the most from this.

-My brother? -Huh?

That's impossible! Rui Fan isn't that kind of person.

You're still protecting him even though he's divorcing you?

No, I'm not. I'm just being objective.

So what if my brother did it?

He Ai Lin is guilty of misusing company funds.

No, no.

I don't think it's Rui Fan, either.

The more suspicious person,

in my opinion, is Wei En.

Did you know she resigned today? That puts her in a worse position.

Wei En did this?

An Zhen, don't be fooled by Wei En's innocent appearance.

She's evil to the core. A devil in disguise like her...

No, she's more like a rare demon.

You can't exactly blame Rui Fan

for being captivated by a rare demon like her.

-Who is guilty then? -Well--

Even if Wei En is the fox spirit with magic spells,

she wouldn't be able to do anything if you'd stood your ground.

And also, Wei En isn't anywhere near being compared to a fox spirit.

I don't see her appeal at all!

Maybe Rui Fan likes her type.

I wonder why he married me in the first place.

"For a man wins nothing better than a good wife."

Rui Fan isn't stupid.

He'll come around one day and realize what's truly good.

An Zhen, don't think about it too much.

I'm sure Rui Fan and Wei En will not be able to hang in there for the long run.

One day,

he'll come back to you.

If I were you, I'd leave him.

-What? But he's your brother. -So what?

-I'm being impartial, okay? -All right you two, stop arguing.

What I'm worried about now is whether this will put Rui Fan in a bad spot at work.

What if the executives get angry?

Wei En is harming him by doing this.

I'm more worried about He Ai Lin.

She cares more about her image than anything else.

Ruining her reputation like this is like taking away her life!

Won't Rui Fan be in more trouble if something happens to Ai Lin?

I don't think so.

It might be a good thing for Rui Fan to experience a big fall

off his high horse.

Maybe then he'll come to his senses.

Wait!

Wait, wait!

I'm sorry. My mistake.

-Hao Kang De. -Yes!

Hi, Ai Lin.

Where are you going if not to the office?

Well, I really need to go to the bathroom

and you know all the doors look the same in this place. I made a mistake.

You're in a good mood today, huh?

Go and tell Rui Fan

to forget about all that he has up his sleeve.

I, He Ai Lin, have nothing to fear.

Wow.

Please don't misunderstand, Ai Lin.

I haven't been on speaking terms with Rui Fan lately.

What do you mean?

Well...

I get it.

You're on Mrs. Wen's side right now.

Wei En.

Rui Fan.

Oliver is dead.

Oliver is dead!

What did you say?

This morning,

he ate something

and wouldn't stop vomiting.

I was about to take him to the vet

but then he stopped moving.

He's dead,

Okay, don't cry. Calm down.

I'll stop over there after my meeting in the afternoon, okay?

Never mind.

Hello?

Oliver.

Oliver, don't be scared.

Mommy is here.

Oliver.

Kai Wen?

Wei En.

What's wrong?

Nothing. Come in.

No, it's okay.

I came to tell you...

Wei En.

I'm really sorry.

My sister-in-law is an employee of the Taoyuan branch.

She heard some rumors about you, so...

I'm afraid we can no longer let you rent the room.

She wouldn't listen to me at all.

I'm really sorry.

What?

But you don't have to rush.

I've asked her to give you some time.

You can move after you find another place.

It's okay.

I won't put you in a tough spot. I'll move out right away.

Wei En.

Wei En!
