[Episode 31]

Madam Wang,

why bring the grinding stone?

It's all I have left

of my husband.

It can't be burnt.

Stones won't be burnt.

Madam Wang,

where would you like it placed?

Over there.

Let me handle it.

Age has caught up with me.

Take it easy.

Alright.

Put it here.

Alright.

Here then, Madam Wang.

- Here. - Thank you.

You're welcome.

Here.

Thank you.

Here.

Thank you.

I want a bowl, too.

Here.

What's the matter?

You look impressive in your armor.

I can't shame the Weibei Army.

Wei,

the water's for the soldiers and villagers logging in the forest.

Alright, I'll deliver it.

Steady now. Don't spill the water.

Don't worry.

I'll assist them.

Thank you.

Your Excellency.

Your Excellency.

Your Excellency,

the city civilians, including the elderly, women, and children,

are all sheltered.

But the villagers are arriving with all their belongings,

and space at the Monument of the Masses is entirely full.

The remaining civilians will relocate to the yamen.

Your Excellency,

fire spreads swiftly,

and we lack loggers.

Reassign guard troops

to assist with logging.

Yes.

Miss,

Prince Jing sent me

to check your health.

Sir,

actually,

the Momai poison lingers.

Your prescription can't save me.

How could it be?

I examined you closely.

The poison was neutralized.

It's a long story.

Once the war ends,

I'll explain to Prince Jing.

Until then,

please keep this hidden.

Well...

Sir,

I beg you.

It's a critical moment for Qingzhou.

Prince Jing must not be distracted now.

You're weak from Qi deficiency and night sweats.

Concealing this

from Prince Jing

may be difficult.

Is there a way to suppress it?

Stimulating

the Hegu acupoint with a silver needle

might help, but it's painful.

I can endure it. For Qingzhou's sake,

I'll try any method.

Physician,

someone fainted.

Alright. I'll see to it, Miss.

Hurry.

Go.

Madam, wake up.

- Physician. - What's the issue?

Please examine her.

Alright.

Father,

protect us from heaven and help Qingzhou through this crisis.

Father,

protect us and help us overcome this crisis.

Please protect us.

Don't worry.

The Weibei Army will protect Qingzhou.

Father,

mother,

we will defend Qingzhou.

[Governor's Mansion]

Reports indicate that

Mingju has mobilized

three Xiyan tribes against Qingzhou.

Tomorrow,

thirty thousand men will gather across the Liucui River.

Containing the fire is our first priority.

Yes.

How is her health?

Her weakness is due to overwork.

She should recover with rest.

My lord, I take my leave.

I'm fine.

I'm only tired.

After acupuncture,

I feel much better.

Jia needs help,

so I must go.

I'm really fine.

If I don't go,

she'll think I'm being lazy.

I'll accompany you.

Very well.

Are you worried about General Yin?

Didn't I ask you to rest?

Why are you here again?

The physician used acupuncture to ease my fatigue.

I'm alright.

Are you hungry?

You barely ate earlier.

You must be hungry now.

What happened to your hand?

I was helping to contain the fire.

The medicine's applied.

Does it hurt?

No.

Eat while it's warm.

You eat first.

Night's cold.

Wear more layers.

[Youwen Ridge]

Enemy sighted!

Mount up!

Jiangtu!

Hurry and go, General!

Chase after her.

As you predicted,

the Great Yan forces at the Liucui River

are largely civilians.

Most soldiers of the Weibei Army

have been dispatched to log

to contain the fire.

Qingzhou

can't endure another fire.

General Weibei has no other choice.

Yes.

The southwest wind will blow for three more days,

directly affecting Qingzhou.

If the fire spreads,

the city may be lost.

By then,

taking Qingzhou

will be effortless.

But I won't wait.

You mean...?

The fire attack

was meant to pin down the Weibei Army.

I never intended

to burn the mountains as a strategy.

Murong Jinghe assumes

we won't cross the Liucui River

and has only civilians guarding it.

This chance

cannot be missed.

When

will you strike?

Tonight, we'll cross to build a bridge for the Xiyan forces.

At dawn,

I'll lead a fraction

of our troops

and seize Qingzhou.

Contain the fire

by dawn.

Protect the women and children.

[Yan]

Enemy sighted!

Full alert!

Attack!

Kill them!

Release the arrows!

Kill them!

Kill them!

Kill them!

[Qingzhou]

Hurry up and go.

Here.

Here.

He's still breathing.

Hurry up.

Come.

Take it easy.

I'll leave him to you.

Uncle,

have any casualties not been removed?

All have been carried out.

Only the fallen soldiers remain.

Big Guy.

Big Guy.

Big Guy.

Big...

Jia.

Big Guy.

Jia.

Big Guy.

Big Guy.

Big Guy.

Big Guy, wake up.

Big Guy.

Big Guy.

Wake up.

Get up.

Get up, Big Guy.

Big Guy, get up.

Get up.

You said you'd always be with me!

Wake up.

Get up.

Wake up, Big Guy.

Big Guy, wake up.

We will defend Qingzhou with our lives

and honor their sacrifice.

I underestimated General Weibei.

We've walked into a trap.

Those civilians on the walls

are disguised soldiers.

Reports said

Qingzhou had under a thousand defenders,

but it seems

reinforcements

may have entered the city.

Once the fire spreads,

let's see how long they last.

Pass my order:

postpone the attack.

Yes.

[Qingzhou]

How did you know

Mingju would withdraw?

He's naturally cautious.

The empty city ruse works only once.

If he learns our true numbers,

we won't last half a day.

Great!

Great!

Great!

The mountain fire is contained.

We have succeeded.

Qingzhou will be safe.

Yes.

Great!

Qingyan,

prepare a feast.

Men,

tomorrow, General Yin

will bring reinforcements.

But the Xiyan army

may attack before dawn.

Qingzhou's forces are weak.

Defense alone

won't suffice.

Thus, I've resolved

to

strike the Xiyan camp tonight.

By halting their advance,

we can

secure time for reinforcements to arrive.

Men,

in Qingzhou's peril,

let the loyalty of the Weibei Army

be our shield,

and our courage our spear,

defending our people

and land.

General,

be assured.

Tonight,

I'll kill every single one I see.

I'll take down at least ten.

Yang,

you're getting timid.

Why stop at ten?

Kill ten, and I'll get ten taels.

Enough

for that jade bracelet

my daughter wants.

I'll aim for a hundred.

My mother dreams of a big house on Qinglin Lane.

You are ambitious.

Qingzhou is our home.

Did you join the army for this?

Mr. Yuan,

we fight

for better lives,

for ourselves

and for those

we leave behind.

Any special wishes

beyond the usual rewards?

Let Qingyan record them.

But

I hope

each of you

returns alive to claim your reward.

General,

I'd like a post in Zhaojing.

Granted.

After this battle,

you'll serve in the Imperial Guard.

So cool.

That's amazing.

The Emperor's guard.

General, I'd like to open a blacksmith shop.

General, I...

What do you want?

I want

ten gold pieces.

Wishful thinking.

Ten pieces, huh?

Zhang,

I certainly know what you want.

What do I want?

You just want a child

with the girl next door.

The general

can't help with that.

General Qingyan,

what about you?

Yeah.

Qingyan,

write down your wish, too.

Me?

I only wish to stay by Prince Jing's side.

This is a great moment

to secure something for your family, isn't it?

Yeah, General Qingyan.

I'm an orphan.

I've followed Prince Jing since childhood.

He is my family.

You don't understand.

Following him, you can have everything.

General,

what about you?

Yeah, General.

What do you want?

Yeah, General.

What do you want?

I wish to be her in-house husband.

Bravo!

Miss Hua,

did you hear that?

Say yes!

Say yes!

Yes.

And your wish,

Miss Hua?

To see snow in Qingzhou again.

As you suspected,

Mingju led his troops to Qingzhou overnight.

When shall we strike?

Before Mingju returns,

burn their supply camp,

and destroy the siege cannons.

Yes.

Great Yan's sneak attack!

Charge!

Kill them!

The Great Yan army launched a sneak attack.

Hurry and fight them!

Don't worry, Your Highness.

We will protect Your Highness at all costs!

You can't, Your Highness!

Are you stopping me again?

Your Highness,

in the past,

I ignored your wishes,

thinking I knew best.

I will distract them

for Your Highness.

You can escape amidst the chaos.

Thank you.

Your Highness!

The Prince Heir has escaped.

Cover me.

Cover the general!

Yes.

My lord.

Release the arrows!

Qingzhou needs General.

General, go!

Qingzhou cannot do without you!

Qingyan!

Qingyan, report for duty!

The general will surely return.

Night's cold.

Miss, please stop waiting.

I want to wait for him.

Qingyan.

Qingyan.

Qingyan.

Qingyan.

Qingyan.

Qingyan.

Hurry and go!

General Weibei has returned!

General Weibei has returned!

[Qingzhou]

I...

I only wish to stay by Prince Jing's side.

I'm an orphan.

I've followed Prince Jing since childhood.

He is my family.

Following him, you can have everything.

Jinghe,

you have held back the Xiyan army.

We'll await reinforcements.

Don't shoot arrows.

It's General Yin.

General Yin is back.

Luomei.

[Qingzhou]

General Yin.

Luomei.

General Weibei,

fifty thousand reinforcements have arrived.

Yin Luomei,

report for duty!

- General Yin. - Luomei.

- General Yin. - Luomei.

The general's eye was poisoned.

To halt the toxin's spread and avoid delaying operations,

she...

She removed her own eye.

The reinforcements are here.

Retreat!

Retreat!

Report!

General,

our reinforcements have arrived.

Mingju is fleeing.

Everyone, back to defenses!

Yes.

Hand me the spear!

Open the gate!

Xiyan soldiers, heed me!

I'll lead you home!
