[Episode 29]

Miss, the scented sachets.

Why do I feel

Mei has changed into another person?

It must be because Mei doesn't want

to be recognized.

Why haven't you changed how you address her?

She is now Miss Hua.

The cheerful Miss Hua is very nice.

[Yanlai Fragrance Shop]

Mei.

Miss Hua.

As a Sun Kunlun with a flawed body,

it's disrespectful to the deity.

If he fails,

the heavens will find another divine messenger.

Yes.

Please spare my life, Your Majesty.

Watch your master carefully.

If he hurts himself for the Great Yan woman again,

I will skin you.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Highness,

you must succeed this time.

Qin.

Your Majesty.

What's the matter?

Having a nightmare?

No.

I had a beautiful dream.

In my dream, my brother came to Zhaojing

and held the little prince,

who bit him and left tooth marks all over his face.

The little prince seems to love his uncle very much.

He also likes his Father very much.

Each time Your Majesty comes to Fanghua Palace,

I can feel him moving.

It's not even three months,

and he's already moving?

Really.

I can really feel him moving.

Feel it yourself.

He is moving.

He is kicking me again.

Don't be naughty.

Alright, Your Majesty.

Don't be harsh towards him.

Well,

will he resemble me more

or you more?

You.

It's better he does.

No.

I was very naughty when I was little.

I upset my Mother so much that she couldn't eat.

I don't want to be upset.

He won't dare.

With me here,

he won't dare to upset you.

What's wrong?

Your Majesty,

my belly hurts.

Imperial physician!

Call the imperial physicians!

[Fanghua Palace]

Your Majesty.

I'm afraid we can't keep the prince.

How is Concubine Yan?

I only care about Concubine Yan.

Her Highness

was injured before,

making it difficult to conceive and carry a child.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, I beg you, please wake up!

Now, after the miscarriage

and postpartum hemorrhage,

I am unable

to stop the bleeding.

Her Highness likely

has about two hours left.

I am incompetent.

Please pardon me, Your Majesty.

Please pardon me, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty,

you finally came.

I feel like I'm fading.

I don't allow you.

Don't be afraid.

I traded 20 years of my life

with the deity,

never expecting it would be less than that.

But the deity granted my request,

and I cannot go back on my word.

Besides, I didn't lose out.

By the gods above,

I am the Emperor of Great Yan.

I grant you 20 years of life

in exchange for nullifying this contract.

Your Majesty,

don't irritate the deity.

I'm not afraid.

But I'm afraid.

I fear that if we irritate the deity,

I won't be able to see you in my next life.

It was my fault.

I harmed you.

I never regretted it.

Meeting Your Majesty

has been my greatest joy.

I just

can't bear to part with you.

I can't bear to part with my brother

or our little prince.

I don't want to be a peace-making marriage princess in my next life.

Okay.

In the next life,

I'll meet you in Xiyan.

You just

be my Zigu.

Alright?

It's very difficult to get

Princess Zigu's jade ring.

I will try hard.

I can get it.

I believe in you.

Your Majesty,

you've gone a full day and night without rest.

You must take care of your health.

Wang Bao.

Yes.

Handle Concubine Yan's funeral arrangements

in secret.

Also,

arrange for Chagu, her maid,

to secretly meet Prince Jing

in Qingzhou immediately.

Yes.

Zigu,

it is unfair to you.

The situation in Xiyan is unstable.

I fear the pro-war faction may seize this chance to stir up trouble.

Your funeral arrangements

must be kept secret.

I will notify your brother in secret.

Once he stabilizes the situation in Xiyan,

I will give you

a full Noble Consort's state funeral.

[Yanlai Fragrance Shop]

Let's take a look.

Take care.

Let's take a look.

Thank you for visiting.

We will deliver the goods shortly.

I've long heard you are very skilled.

If it's good, I'll come again.

Come and take a look.

Farewell.

New trinkets.

Miss, take a look.

- Your Excellency. - They are selling well today.

The matter has been taken care of.

Thank you.

You are welcome, Your Excellency.

Madam.

How can I accept your gold?

Without Your Excellency,

Changle House wouldn't be what it is today.

Booking the scented sachets for a month

is not a big deal for Changle House.

It's a private matter,

so I can't

let you pay for it.

Madam,

take it.

Thank you, Your Excellency.

You have very good taste.

Miss Hua, the new girl in Yanlai Fragrance Shop,

is very skilled.

Please keep it a secret.

Don't let Miss Hua know

His Excellency ordered them.

Understood.

Rest assured, Your Excellency.

I understand.

This month's revenue doubled.

The Lone Butterfly's Dance style

that Miss Hua created

sells out every day.

The manager of Changle House

just ordered scented sachets enough for a month.

Miss Hua is clever and skilled.

Back then,

her embroidery was the best among us.

With guidance,

I can certainly excel in embroidery.

[Yanlai Fragrance Shop]

The fragrances here are good.

Really?

Let's go take a look.

Pick this one.

This one.

And try this one.

This one is also pretty.

This is not bad.

I like this one.

Miss Hua, formerly Mei Lin,

has shed her identity as the Princess Heir.

I entrusted her to the wrong person.

If she weren't so smart,

she would be trapped

in the palace of Xiyan for the rest of her life.

Take a look.

Freshly spun thread.

Candied haws.

All the new colors.

[Spring Flower Cake Shop]

The cake shop opens in a few days.

Isn't it too early for the sign?

Since the border trade began,

people have been coming to Qingzhou for business.

Many cake shops have opened already.

We need to put up our shop sign early

to attract customers

and boost our business operations.

Hang it there.

That is better.

Once the Crown Prince faces his punishment,

I will help you open

a Spring Flower Cake Shop.

It's a deal.

Another wish of yours

has been fulfilled.

Miss Hua, Yi,

I bought firecrackers

to celebrate Miss Hua becoming a shopkeeper.

Come on.

Thank you, Wei.

[Spring Flower Cake Shop]

Are you okay, Miss Hua?

Mei...

Qingyan.

Your Excellency,

she is a new worker in Yanlai Fragrance Shop,

Miss Hua.

Your Excellency,

she looks like Mei Lin, right?

I feel the same.

She is a widow who escaped from Mozhou.

Her husband died a long time ago.

She is mute.

The situation was urgent.

Please pardon me

if I've offended you.

Stop talking nonsense.

I'll tell the shopkeeper.

I didn't.

Don't deny it.

Here it is.

Everything is here.

You promised not to tell him,

but you hinted at it.

I should've kept you locked

in the spice house.

The governor is very kind.

Wei.

Thank you.

We shouldn't hide it from him.

He was protecting Miss Hua.

What's good about him?

Mei doesn't need him.

He was pretending to care.

When Miss Mei was in a coma,

the governor was heartbroken.

Well,

we all saw it.

It wasn't fake.

Indeed.

He refused to believe

you were dead

and never left your side.

If he knew you were alive,

how could he ignore you?

Didn't he recognize you?

He did.

But he also knows

I don't want to be the old Mei Lin,

and he respected that.

Mei,

don't let him fool you again.

Don't worry.

It's better this way.

We don't have to hide anything anymore.

Can you and the governor go back to how things were?

I just want to live as Miss Hua now.

To him, Miss Hua is just

a stranger he's met once.

Right.

Let's stop talking about him.

Big Guy,

didn't you bring Red Fruit Wine

to celebrate the cake shop opening?

Yes.

I'll get it.

Let's eat

and celebrate.

I couldn't find Red Fruits,

so

I used local gooseberries

to brew it.

It's the same.

Let me pour the drinks.

Okay.

Okay.

Come on.

To Miss Hua

for letting go of the past

and starting a new life!

Cheers to a prosperous Spring Flower Cake Shop!

Prosperous business.

- Cheers. - Cheers.

Let me fill your cups.

Come on.

Let me toast

I'm happy to have met you all.

I hope

we'll stay together for life.

Mei,

we will, for sure.

For a lifetime.

For a lifetime.

- Cheers. - Cheers.

Cheers!

I'll always be with Mei,

but someone else might not.

She may get married

someday.

Who's getting married?

You won't marry?

Didn't you say you'd marry

when the spice house made 10,000 taels of gold?

I won't marry.

Men are blind

and blockheaded.

I can live well on my own.

But

you clearly said

you would marry.

Big Guy, listen,

you promised to listen to me.

So stop talking

or talking back.

Don't get close to that guy.

[Yanlai Fragrance Shop]

Miss,

let me send...

Big Guy,

why are you

so obedient to me?

You can speak now.

Tell me.

Why are you so obedient to me?

B-b-because

you are the shopkeeper.

From now on,

don't treat me like the shopkeeper.

You...

Are you driving me away?

You are really a blockhead.

You should stay in the spice house,

by my side,

and not go anywhere.

Well?

You're unwilling?

I'm willing.

I...

Jia,

I'm willing.

Now

send me back to my room.

Okay.

Slowly.

[Governor's Mansion]

It's good enough

to be around you like this.

My lord,

how is your injury?

I'm fine.

What did you find?

I brought back some scraps.

I found it strange.

The firecrackers weren't normal.

Tung oil.

Tung oil is used in military fire oil bombs.

Okay.

Thank you, Miss.

Mister,

I've bought the cakes you ordered.

Miss Hua,

Thank you, Wei.

Oh, right,

I passed the patrol camp on my way back.

They want to order ten trays...

Five, six.

Six trays of Dengguo Cake.

Here.

The patrol camp ordered them?

Yes.

I need to go back to help Jia.

I can't help you deliver them.

Don't forget.

Okay.

I'll check how many we need.

Gods bless them.

I've spent all my savings.

May the governor and Mei Lin

reunite.

Sir,

it's past the hour of Si,

and no one has picked up the goods.

Something is off.

Retreat.

Yes.

Why do you need to inspect my goods?

We'll confirm that

after inspection.

Well...

Hurry, go!

Hurry!

Go!

Go this way.

Hurry!

While recruiting in southern Mozhou,

I uncovered Xiyan spies hidden within a merchant caravan,

smuggling fire oil bombs disguised as fireworks

to Qingzhou.

I suspected something

and followed them with Jiangtu.

I didn't expect to run into you.

I found tung oil in the firecrackers here,

likely from the same Xiyan spies

as those

in Mozhou.

My lord,

they confessed.

The fireworks were headed for the patrol camp.

The patrol camp.

The patrol camp recently began

recruiting locals from Qingzhou,

and training has started today.

However,

there are Xiyan spies among the recruits,

aiming to sabotage from within.

The pro-war faction of Xiyan, led by Mingju,

still covets Qingzhou.

If conflict erupts,

Qingzhou's insufficient defenses

could fall easily.

Luckily, we intercepted their weapons shipment.

Find the Xiyan spies in the patrol camp quickly

to prevent further action by Mingju.

Okay.

General,

do you know who ordered the cakes?

There is a spy!

Here!

You...

Your Excellency.

Miss Hua,

leave His Excellency to me.

Help His Excellency return.

Okay.

Miss,

you're injured.

Miss.

Escort her to treat the wound.

Please, Miss.

General,

that pile of grass is suspicious.

What's wrong with Prince Jing?

Prince Jing was weakened by testing

the Momai antidote,

harming both Qi and blood.

Coupled with this wound,

the bleeding won't cease.

Miss Mei Lin's injury is minor.

Her wound is dressed.

Qingyan,

her martial arts have been lost.

But...

Yi said Mei Lin fled to her death

because she was imprisoned by the Prince Heir.

Could the Prince Heir have sealed them

to keep her captive?

Investigate

all she endured

in the palace of Xiyan.

I want to know everything.

Yes.

Her suffering

is due to me.

You are already trying to make amends.

You risked your life to get the Snow Dragon Whisker from the Crown Prince.

The poison in her is purged.

Don't blame yourself too much.

This is what I owe her.

From now on,

protect her in secret.

I want her safe

for the rest of her life.

Keep moving forward,

and you will find a way to survive.

The road

will be brighter as you go.

Your Highness,

I'm back.

Mei Lin.

Gods bless you.

Your Highness.

Your Highness, you are finally awake.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

You must rest more, Your Highness.

Step aside!

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Your Highness,

the Princess Heir has passed,

but you still have the princess.

Please think of the princess.

If something happens to you,

what will she do in Great Yan?

I beg you, Your Highness.

Oh, right.

Right.

The princess has sent you a letter.

It's a secret letter from Great Yan.

Here, Your Highness.
